SteelConnect M an adapter for Moto 360 Smartwatch - Moto 360

Mod Edit: Please don't do any commercial promoting here.

What's the expected width for the watch straps?
20 or 22?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1

@Cr4z33 hi, it's 22mm.

Ah...I was a KS backer for the steel, unfortunately, I could not test them out because I jumped to the LG G Watch and now the Moto 360 lol. Glad you are opting to help with this! My only gripe is that the it took quite a bit of time due to delays beyond SC's control. But that's pretty much Kickstarter right there isn't it? lol
Excited to see the final product too! Thanks again!

Super excited about this!

If this somehow allows ur to just snap in and out different bands that'd be dope. Instead of using a screw driver.

Get true NATO straps, they will cover the hear rate sensor but no need to remove spring bars

When I first heard of all the issues with using 3rd pty bands on the Moto360, I had thought.. "someone needs to come up with an adapter"..... I am beyond excited for this!!

So a black version will be available right away? When will these be shipping out?

Where did you see that? This is kickstarter so it'll probably a month at least (barring any delays in the process) from launch. I really don't think they are fronting the cash to make a min batch. Unless they still have cash left over from the pebble steelconnect campaign. lol

Hi @kpjimmy, Its nice to see you again, so you went for Moto360 ya : ) Yea we did face challenges from our previous manufacturer, and it cause us a few months delay. Lesson learn! This is a very valuable experience we had and we believe it is good. Not only we learn how to handle manufacturer, its about the whole supply chain and management skill from the very beginning of the campaign until we finally shipped it out. We are back this time more prepared with three manufacturer in hand. Will definitely looking for more backups XD. We feel excited too

Hi @SamDeKyro. Good day! It will definitely simplify the way you change your strap. There is two way you can do, either you get a strap with quick release or just use a 1mm pin to remove from the quick release lug whole lug of SteelConnect M. In addition it will reduce your chances of scratching your Moto360 everytime you change it. Cheers!

Hi GTiceman, Yes you could always opt for the Nato or Zulu straps, however you need to sacrifice the function of heart rate sensor. We do have some tricks which could help some of you with smaller hand to still use your heart rate sensor while having nato strap on board. Everything is flexible, stay tune XD

Hi @nonmindo. We do have the same concern, and thats the first intention of making SteelConnect M. Moto 360 lug just allowed straps that are below 3.5mm thickness, so there is a little constrain there. We do see that some of the fans out there manage to get some 3rd party strap that looks cool; but if your choice of strap are more than 3.5mm, we can help you . There is more possibilities that you could think of. Cheers!

Hi @Suzzook, Thanks for your interest in SteelConnect M. The campaign will be launched on next week in Kickstarter. If everything goes well, the production will start on end November after the campaign. We estimated to shipped it out latest by Jan or mid Feb 2015. This is how it works in Kickstarter.

Kickstarter is basically a platform for people to pledge funds to support a project. Just head to the Kickstarter website and have a look at their FAQ. Example: https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/backer+questions?ref=faq_nav#BackAProj
I believe that Steelconnect has yet to create the project in Kickstarter for the Moto 360 adaptor. Just be patience, and wait for him to tell us know once the project has been started. I'm waiting too.

Could you consider abandon KickStarter and straight go for pre-order ? That way we could get it much sooner, and you may batch produce for lower cost

[Q] XDA Shirts

Hi guys have u guys made any XDA shirts yet? if so plz let me know im intersted on buying 1. thank u n appreciate it. plz let me know soon
Great idea
No T shirts have made at least officially
Long time ago we had a store and there was a petition to do so but never happened...
oo ok alright isee ;/ well when u all decide to make t-shirts plz let me know as soon u all can. Im intersted in some or even stickers if u all can thank u n appreciated
Stickers and Shirts
I don't know if I'd go for a shirt, my workplace won't allow them unless its a tastefully done golf/polo type shirt, and ... that would look like I'm working for someone else, so probably wouldn't pass dress code.
However, I would buy a few sticker or two to slap on my laptop - or even skinning my phone.
I would be interested in buying a shirt. Orb, what happened to the last project?
Interesting.... i would like to show you all something cool maybe you all wants to have one of this bueaties
My friend owns a Screen Printing shop, I can ask him how much he would do shirts for us. Price does depend on design and colors.

So you only wear clothes to work? Wha?
I would dig an XDA shirt! Just make sure it's not some overpriced sh*t =P I'm okay with donating a few bucks to XDA, but I don't want to pay some obscene $30 for a T-Shirt lol

This is not for donation purposes. This is to show our pride as xda members! But you're right, $30 is too much. Somebody should come up with the design.
We've been toying with the idea. In fact, we have a prototype, but weren't happy with the quality. See the attached.
A T shirt in brown or white with the logo of XDA is good enough
Hoping to see them available soon

Later on more designs can be available but I think the "original" XDA logo T shirt would be great

I'd be down for a shirt. Could there be a white and black shirt with the simple design in an athletic fit? Also, hoodies and long-sleeved shirts would be cool too. I wouldn't mind the shirt being a dollar more for donation purposes.

It actually look pretty good although would love to se some polo shirts as well since thats all i wear ha but would definatly order this and polo as well. Im big fan of XDA jst got into it and would love to show the pride for this, would also love stickers to attach them in my laptop that would look nice Hope u all make something soon by this year
I like the sample it looks cool! For me short sleeved would be preferable. A regular XDA logo shirt in a nice design would be fine, nothing fancy for the first edition is needed. A price point of $15 or less would seal the deal, and at the quantities I'm sure people will be snapping these up, that probably wouldn't be a problem =P
I will definitely buy one if I can get it in black

Sony Ericson LiveView

anyone out there try the LiveView with the vibrant yet, and if so, how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one, looks like a cool little toy, but i've herd some negatives about connetion issues (yes i know they just recent released a fireware update to help that) but still unsure if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance!

Its a bluetooth connected display that you wear on your wrist. It will give you a lot of information at a glance. I guess it would be great for someone who hates pulling their phone out all the time, or someone who uses a belt clip or armband case.

they put out an update for the software that makes it pretty usefull. there is also a hack with tasker to help it connect when it disconnects.
it does disconnect sometimes, but for the most part it works really well. If you are on xda and hack your phone then you know the software isn't always perfect and if you have delt with roms that arn't quit ready for daily driver you know the feeling and it isn't that bad.
I'm loving this so far, and want more people to get it so that more people would devolop plugins for it.
it is coming to the US soon, or u can get it on ebay for about 70 bucks! get it now before they get to the us and become hot and the price on ebay skyrockets!

Why is it a shady rip off of the pebble? I seen the pebble and was thinking about buying one. I think they are both nice watches. But the Kreyos blows the pebble away. Voice control, speaker, mic, and sleep tracking is an update already in the works sense the million dollar mark hit. Oh yeah its waterproof. This was a big one for me!

Also like the Kreyos whereas I am waiting for one of the newer versions (e.g. Samsung, Sony, Google) as I like more the Sony SW2 style.
In addition, it is more an evolution than a rip-off, anyway who does not copy anyone in the current tech world , as long as it benefits the end user...
I would try this out once it's released

[Poll] Other Steelconnect model for our moto 360

Dear all,
as some of you know, SteelConnect has recently launched an accessory (the M180 and M225) that reduces the risk of backcracking of the Moto 360 while also making it easier to switch bands.
However, I and several other people love the idea but I don't really like the gap between the device itself and the curve of the M180.
I sent them a mail and they told me they were open to suggestions and were willing to listen to other ideas if it got enough support.
At the time of posting this poll, there are already over 160 votes on Google Plus.
Make sure to also head there to click on the options.
Thats what this is for: I would like to know how many of you would love a similar concept to this, but with a downward facing slope. So instead of going along with the body of the 360, leading to the gap, I would suggest a paperclip shape.
What do you think? Make sure to leave your feedback here or in the G+ discussion
PS: Thanks for participating guys. I am sure that if we reach, let's say 200 people who'd be willing to buy it, Steelconnect will do it. They were pretty happy with the results so far. Great company!
I think I'd like to get the one I already ordered in hand before thinking about another product from them.

So i'm not 100% on this but what is the point of the M225 vs the M180? In the pictures it looks like the M225 would be for smaller wrists vs M180 for larger wrists. Am I seeing that correctly?

Sony's universal strap adapter

I've seen images of this strap adapter show up several times on various Sony sites (see attached picture), but I have never heard of anyone actually owning it.
Does anyone own the watch holder/strap adapter shown in the attached image?
If so, does it have pins that can be unscrewed to allow the user to use whatever strap they want?
Does anyone know anywhere this thing can be purchased (alone, without the watch)?

Being able to use the band you want is the meaning of this adapter so no surprise there.
The adapter was announced in the beginning of this year next to the "steel" version of the smartwatch 3 which just entered in stores here in The Netherlands. Because I really want the adapter (as it makes the watch more classy imo) I phoned with Sony and they promised me that the waiting is almost over. No specific dates but very soon...
Sony has been selling the watch bundled with the holder and leather strap for the past week or so in several European countries. It's a matter of time before they release the holder/strap as a standalone accessory.
I'm honestly quite worried that Sony will retire this watch before they manage to release this

I've been hearing this since January/February. Care to explain how you know this?
And to OP: Sony UK is selling all versions of the Smartwatch 3 now. Steel band, adapter with 2 colors of leather, and multiple colors of the same band we've had all along. Sadly, only with the full watch, not the individual bands.
I have no doubts supac is correct (though, want more info). Sony has stated since February, at the least, that the bands will be available "early spring." The timeline was wrong, but they are coming, I hope, soon. Unless the Smartwatch 3 is going to end up like the Vita, only supported elsewhere, and to a small degree.
Xperia media replied to my query in twitter, they said that they were aiming for 2nd or 3rd week of May.....kinda late but hey

Pure speculation:
The watch hasn't sold well enough for Sony to justify spending the resources needed to release this.
and/or
Sony has decided to spend the resources instead on the Smartwatch 4.
or
Sony has decided to exit the smartwatch market.

Sony are incompetent. This is the one I'm going for. They can show off a product, sell a watch with a steel band but not the band by itself and the white band has been for sale on their website for a while but no sign of the lime green one? Sonys products are great but the marketing and supply chain is terrible.

Yeah, good one. Let's add another option (however unlikely) just for fun: They're malicious; They released the rendering of the adapter to generate interest for their watch with no intention of ever releasing the accessory!

If any of these are true then they are intentionally lying by still insisting the adaptor will be available which is malicious. Personally I can't see this which means incompetence is more likely due to the fact that this small piece of plastic is not difficult to make or distribute yet they blow through published release dates regularly.
@rob_h
I think you mistook my post for being sarcastic. Sorry about that. None of it was sarcastic.
I honestly agree with you that it's very likely they've been unable to release this because of their incompetence. I also honestly think there's a chance (however small) that they're being malicious/disingenuous here by releasing that rendering of the strap adapter with little or no intention of actually selling it one day.
