ART is highy unstable..I successfully changed but trying hard to get rid of it now.
After changing to ART system crashes continuously. You can't even change it back to Dalvik.
So friend stick with Dalvik otherwise you are taking a risk on stability of the device.

ART requires additional internal space.. for example if u had 1gb free internal in Dalvik ; after switching to ART it ll b 500mb free space. so need to hav at least some 600mb before switching .
and second thing make sure xposed installer is uninstalled before switching to ART.. bcoz it doesn't work with art.
make sure above two conditions

I think that caused problems in switching. I had more than 100 apps installed during switching, which simply means that internal space was low. So it lead lead to whole system crash

Why did you create this thread 2 and a half hours after the previous one, asking much the same question?
To answer your question: Xposed and ART don't work together very well. My advice is, if you need Xposed, stick to Dalvik. It's probably possible with ART but you need to do the legwork yourself.
And don't create 3 threads in a day asking the same questions.

Can't change runtime from Dalvik to ART

Hey guys,
I've got a rooted Nexus 7 (2013) with 4.4.2 and I am trying to change the runtime from Dalvik to ART. I go to the development options and change it, asks me to reboot but after it boots up, it remains with the Dalvik runtime...
Weird thing is that before I changed the runtime in my Nexus, I changed it on another non-rooted Nexus 7 with 4.4.4 and it worked as expected. ART running like a charm.
Only differences I spot so far in both devices are that mine is rooted and has a ton of apps, as for the other is almost out of the box with few user-installed apps, and ofcourse the OS's are from different versions even though I think this would not matter.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Did you install xposed? If so completely remove it (uninstall framework etc) and try again
Sent from my LG G3
No xposed. Did a factory reset before trying art.

i'm having the same issue. i'm rooted, and i uninstalled xPosed. ART still won't "take". how do i figure out what is conflicting with ART??
Only thing I could think of doing is doing a factory reset or flashing a new ROM/Firmware and updating. ART runs fine for me, I've been switching between Dalvik and ART a couple of times and both run fine, with Android optimizing itself appropriately after each reboot, which is fine. Since ART IS in Beta, Google kinda just put it there for the sake of it in KitKat, and so people would know what to expect in Android L. I wouldn't expect it to run flawlessly across all Android devices that ran it, it's probably just a matter of waiting until it's a bit more optimized for all devices in Android L if a factory reset/re-flash doesn't fix it, unfortunately.
Most ART majors don't work.. wait, what are we talking about here?

Can't successfully migrate to ART (CM11)

Hi,
I am using CM11 and would like to switch to ART. When I do so in developers options, the phone reboots and it takes a long time to update and optimize the apps (with several iterations on a subset of total apps). Once I get to the lock screen, I unlock and get constant systemui process crash ("stopped working"). If I reboot again, the phone starts normally but has automatically switched back to Dalvik.
I always wipe cache and Dalvik when I flash an update, but should I also wipe data during the automatic reboot process when switching to ART? What is the exact sequence of actions to successfully migrate? Lots of TeamCanjica succeeded with ART.
Thanks
Somer APP do not like ART. So it could be that some installed user apps are not compatrible with ART and prevent the swtich to ART.
Best and most secure way is to beginn from scratch... Factory reset/Data wipe... Booot completely... Then switch to ART... And start installing your apps...
For sure there are some which do not want to install themself.... But this is normal....

[Q] A few questions about ART

im on carbonrom and i think about to switch to art but i have a few questions:
can i just, when all apps are installed, switch to art?
or is a fresh rom without apps recommended?
if i then flash my rom updates, i stay on art or im back on dalvik and i always have to switch back to art?
sorry, i have no experience with the use of art.
thanks in advance!
You can turn on art whenever you want with or without apps however the next boot will precompile all your apps that you have installed so it will say optimizing app X of XXXX apps and will be a very long boot however after that everything will go back to normal and the phone will boot at a normal speed and it will feel just like dalvik. When you update your rom it may reset it to dalvik I don't know of but I would assume it would. You should have slightly better app launch times with art enabled because the apps are precompiled.
thanks but if i change to art when all my apps are installed and one app is for example not compatible with art the device will boot anyway?
ive just tried it out but the device booted normally without app otimization and after the start flickered my screen and i had to reboot.
im still on dalvik...
