I have .708 you can see in the image attached bellow i on STOCK ROM, UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER with ROOT and CUSTOM RECOVERY BUT S-ON
i am not able s-off with firewater i just need ARHD soo can i flash it on my S-ON device or S-ON is needed if yes than can any one guide me to flash stock latest version + rooted ... with S-ON.. thanks

Nope, you can't. You need S-Off to update firmware. *DON'T* flash ARHD without S-Off/updating firmware. Trust me, I made the mistake. Wait for OTA, or go S-Off

Not able to s off
I was trying hard for s-off m not able to do it with firewater and i m a student i cant pay 25$ to use sunshine

YOU ARE Doing these well, if you flash ARev.HD later you can go back flashing an stok rom take this link for choose your OFFICIAL RUU...
http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
but i think that if you taste a cooked rom you are not going back to RUU OFFICIAL ROM hahahah
CERTAINLY.. have you made HBOOT S OFF ENG-SPL????(its fully reversible flashing an stok rom) and It makes possible to recover the system of a bad flash recovery...
sorry for my bad english
What I think SERGI.3210 is trying to say, is that you need ENG HBoot or ENG S-OFF before you can flash radios.
Here are the threads you should read,
ENG S-OFF
RADIO S-OFF
I did not flash (well, I dont think I did) hboot and i don't now how to do this either the tekst in bootloader says this:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0007
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
How do I make HBOOT S OFF ENG-SPL and is their a way to check if I already have it?
And what does this do?

uups!!! thanks andyharney! i forgot to put that you need ENG S-OFF to flash radios!!
certainly... take this XDA´S LINK for go back to OFICIAL RUU:
http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
Use the ENG S-OFF tool in the first link to get ENG S-OFF. Without this you cannot flash radio.img's via fastboot.
Once you have ENG S-OFF use the other link to get Radio S-OFF. The tools are very easy to use and 99.9999999999999999% safe.
I took another look at the article i used to root and it said this:
you will have permanent root (S-OFF), as well as subsidy unlock and SuperCID. At this point, you can also choose to flash the engineering hboot
If you don't want the engineering hboot, just reboot your phone. You can verify you have permanent root by holding volume down while powering on (you'll see S-OFF in the first line of the bootloader). You are now free to install a new recovery and start flashing custom ROMs. If you don't want to flash a new ROM, it's safe to uninstall the Visionary app at this point.
Does this mean i already have radio S-OFF?

Unrooting

Hi!
My phone broke and now I want to try to get it fixed with warranty. I'm not sure if warranty still is available if I use root so I want to unroot.
I have read that all I need to do is flash the RUU, but which one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824357
And what will flashing it do? Will it remove CWM and everything else I was using to root? I remember that I flashed radio 2 times, had S-OFF and E-ON.
And then I will simply run System Update? Because it seems that RUU are firmwares that phones are shipped with.
yea, just flash a RUU.
Make sure you install the original RUU for the type of your DHD (i.e. WWE, Voda,T-Mobile...)
and if your phone is S-OFF, make it S-ON - S-OFF / S-ON GUIDE (guide for S-ON is at the end of the 1st post). Go into bootloader and make sure you have S-ON
--your recovery will be restored to original HTC recovery
Oh, but which RUU I need to flash? I remember I needed to do a downgrade and I think it was 1.72.405.3, not the R2, but I'm not sure.
Well, when you had your phone, was it branded?
if so, you need to find a brand-specific RUU.
If not, then WWE RUU is fine.
i would suggest the 1.32 FW (because S-ON requires temproot from Visionary+), then follow the guide to S-ON
What about radio? I have flashed the leaked gingerbread radio, wouldn't they be able to see that I have flashed a newer radio? Or the RUU flashes radio also?
RUU flashes radio too. But after flashing the RUU have a look into the bootloader, the device might still be S-Off. For S-On you need to root again and Use the easy radio tool to make S-On again. Then use the RUU again.
It still was S-OFF, but used Visionary and Easy Radio Tool to get S-ON. A brand new phone
Thanks!
Does it work the RUU to flash even if I come from an ext4 ROM (ARHD 5.1.9)?
Or do I need to format first by cwm 3.0.2.6 so that it is ext3 again?
No one any advice?

Possible to flash custom recovery s-on

Hey guys,
Is it possible to flash twrp/cwm on my m8 that is s-on and on lollipop, and after that is there a possiblity to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4.4 or do i need to be s-off for the downgrade.
Bootloader is htcdev unlocked
Since i haven't found a way to get my phone s-off.
So quick recap:
Possible to flash custom recovery with s-on.
If possible to flash custom recovery to downgrade android from 5.0 to 4.4.4 while s-on
Yes, the same as everyone else does - fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img but you can't downgrade without S-OFF

The only way to S-OFF is to use SunShine @ http://theroot.ninja which will cost $25 respectively.

Its not clear to me why you want s-off.
You only need stock ROM (no system files altered by root) and stock recovery to OTA. Relocking bootloader is not necessary. Its only necessary to relock bootloader to RUU (when s-on).
Sunshine doesn't work with Lollipop (yet) but keep checking their website for updates

firewater was an online service. So it no longer works now that the developer stopped supporting it 3 months ago.
But I'm still not convinced you even need s-off. You haven't provided a valid reason that required s-off.
If you do need soff, you need to use sunshine. There is no other option to s-off.

As I already stated above, you do not need to lock the bootloader to OTA update, and you do not need s-off to OTA update. OTA update works fine with bootloader unlocked or otherwise.
You also do not need s-off to go back to stock. Just made a nandroid (or get one from the nandroid collection here) to restore stock ROM, and restore stock recovery (also in the collection).
With s-off you can make the bootloader say LOCKED instead of RELOCKED. But warranty service is typically the only time that is desired.
Yes, s-off will give you more recovery options. Such as being able to run RUU for any CID, or "downgrade" by RUU. And it lets you do things like flash radios or modified hboots. But of the things you mentioned, its not needed.

Hi @redpoint73 can i ask you a question ?
I bought a second hand M8 and it already had S-OFF via sunshine. When i entered bootloader it says : Software status : Modified , (bootloader) UNLOCKED and S-OFF.
I asked the seller for the "unlock_code.bin" and he said that didn't have any.He said he simply ran sunshine to S-OFF.Didn't modified further. No custom recovery no root (although sunshine temp roots) no custom ROM.
So my question is this : performing S-OFF via sunshine will auto unlock your bootloader and say Software status : Modified ?

I actually did s-off back when firewater was still working, before sunshine even existed. So I can't speak from personal experience, just what I've read on these forums. I believe that the sunshine app gives you the options to temp root, s-off, and unlock the bootloader (by means that bypasses HTCDev.com). So that is probably what the previous owner did.
With s-off there isn't ever a need to relock the bootloader, and therefore no need to unlock it again with the bin code. RUUs will run with bootloader unlocked when s-off. And you can change the hboot flag to LOCKED for warranty purposes with s-off.
If for some reason you want to relock and then unlock the bootloader again, you can just go through the HTCDev.com process to get a new bin code. But its not advised. As I don't see why you would ever want to relock (for the reasons just given). And once you go through HTCDev.com, HTC will have a record of you doing so (which they do not at this time).
Thanks you have been more than helpfull!
Another question and last one :
Can i dual boot with multirom a sense 6 rom and the GPe rom?
I have the latest firmware installed so from what i read GPe roms can run without any issues.
Thanks again!

No idea, I've never used MultiROM, and not that familiar with it. Hopefully, someone who knows will chime in. Or you can post to the MultiROM thread to possibly get a quicker answer.

[Q] S-ON Problems

I have googled and found out that with S-ON i cannot root or flash anything. Is there any way (other than $25 pay) to get S-OFF?

You can root your device and flash custom roms, im S-On and i flash custom roms on my M8 all the time
this post will help you out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799796
Sunshine is the only current working s-off method. But if your intent is to flash custom ROMs, you don't need s-off. For the purpose of running custom ROMs, you only need s-off if you want to "manually" update your firmware to run a particular ROM. But for most variants, you can also update your firmware by official OTA.
