Root Canvas A1 without unlock or custom recovery [Tutorial] - Micromax Canvas A1

I'm not sure if someone has posted this before. But every root tutorial I see for canvas a1 and other android one devices says that you have to install custom recovery. This is useless and risky considering how android one is like nexus, with infinite freedom.
Here's how to root Micromax Canvas A1 (and probably other android one devices too, I have only this one) without even unlocking your bootloader. You'll need adb, and fastboot binaries.
First download any of these recoveries by @varun.chitre15 : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=19345 (that's your recovery.img)
Then download the SuperSU script from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 (that's your UPDATE-SuperSU-*.zip)
Then in terminal (or command prompt)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
The recovery you downloaded will boot. On the phone, choose install zip -> install zip from sideload. Then come back to terminal and
Code:
adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.14.zip #or whatever it is named
Your phone must now get rooted without you changing anything dangerous. At least it did on my canvas a1. And I'm waiting for the Lollipop update now. Meanwhile you might have to install xposed framework.

not very clear
Hello i am just a beginner i want to know how to install fastboot and adm and if you can make a video thanks in advance

Yes, It can be done in this way, but in my opinion it would be more risky..
In case you bricked your device(Flash wrong kernal or incorrect rom) or its not booting up and you have a unlocked boot-loader. You would not be able to flash stock rom from SP tools. with unlocked boot-loader / preloader SP tool would not detect your device.

But i cant see any terminal in my boot up

[Q] Rooting with locked bootloader (? HELP)

Hi! I've been trying to root my Z1C with various programs, like towelroot and etc, and it's not working. I read that you don't have to unlock bootloader (unfortunately even I want to, I can't ) to root your device.
I know that there's a lot of other thread about this. But can we acces root without flashing or something like this? I'm really a beginner in these things. Or there's a way to downgrade android (I really don't want this, I like this new Lollipop)?
Oh and without unlocked bootloader, can I get in recovery to install zip files? Sorry for these silly questions.
Can someone help me please? (sorry for my bad English, I'm Hungarian!)
My build number is: 14.5.A.0.283
you cant root you phone IF you are on Lollipop ROM you need to downgrade to KK by flashtool and best is KK108. After that simply download newroot by munjeni and turnieju on USB debugging and unknown source. And pług your phone to pc and start newroot and thats all. Very easy

Oh. Thanks for the reply. Can you get link for great Tutorial? Or maybe you could write me what to do, you said it's easy...
EDIT: What if I pre-root an 5.0.2 Firmwire?? With PRFCreator?

Aha... I got stuck at
Code:
7. Open Terminal emulator and type :
"Su"
Allow root permission
Type:
"sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh"
It says: /system/bin/sh: su: not found.
I had this also. I took an other version of kingroot
I think I used the latest. Check the kingroot thread.

Okay, now I downgraded back to KitKat, now I'm fully rooted, with dual recovery. So....now if I flash the new android via recovery, the recovery will disappear???? I mean, I want to install root from recovery on the 5.0.2.

If You flash a PRF, it should have a recovery. If not, You can still install a recovery since You will be rooted.

Root H815 on MM 6.0 V20d?

Hi guys ☺,
I bought today G4 eu model,it came with Marshmallow 6.0 V20d version.
I want to root it because of Greenify and Xposed,to increase the battery time, maybe later to flash some rom but...
There is a lot of topics on this subject,I started to read but I'm lost right now...as far as I saw,I can't root Marshmallow without unlocking the bootloader, only Lollipop, right?
Is it a big trouble to go back from MM to LP?
I'm not new in this flashing and rooting stuff,I had (still have) a Motorola Razr XT910,I flashed it 100 times for sure for 3.5 years but I didn't had to unlock the bootloader (it's impossible anyway) and there's a custom recovery Safestrap, modified Twrp which allows to flash and use 6 different roms, from JB to MM,without changing the kernel...
I will be grateful if someone can point me in the right direction,to give me some useful links etc.
And is there some list which procesess are safe to freeze with TB and which ones I can greenify?
Oh,and the bloatware too...
Sorry if I'm demanding but I want to bring out the best from this phone
Thank you in advance

Hi,
root without unlocking bootloader works only on lollipop, right. Not sure if u can downgrade, but when, u will use "LGUP" tool with the "H81510D.kdz" file. Maybe there exists a pre-rooted kdz to flash.
If u want to root android 6, u need a unlocked bootloader. Rooted Android 5.1.1 or unlock bootloader with rooted android 6.x.x
Ok,I successfully unlocked the bootloader but now I'm stuck with rooting and installing Twrp...
I've downloaded BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247 and TWRP-3.0.0.0-H815+ but there's a lot of metods,which one should I use?
Flash SuperSu+Twrp with stock recovery?
Install Twrp with adb command and then flash SuperSu with Twrp?
Install both with adb command?
I also saw somewhere that I must flash some other kernel that is already rooted...
I just need root and the Xposed for now, help me guys!
Im also Confused..Where can i find rooted kernel?
I already did this Method u said...But I got Boot Loop
Then I revover my phone with Lg Bridge
We need to find this.....I also Had Android MM with V20d

In my case I wasn't able to flash recovery on the stock kernel, I had to flash boot.img unpacked from the custom kernel like SimpleGX and only then I was able to flash recovery and full kernel through it.

the method i followed was-
1. boot into twrp recovery with adb command(you need to have the twrp.img file in PC and also copy it in internal memory of your phone with SU)
2. flash systemless root with twrp
3. reboot
4. install flashify
5.flash twrp.img from your phone.
6. done
but there aren't as much benefits of rooting as any other phone. viper4android doesn't work. spirit fm doesn't work. xposed doesn't work properly.(these 3 were the main reasons for which i rooted)

I didn't know i could flash something other than .zip files with twrp.
As for viper4android i tried normal way, flashed it with twrp, flashed extreme music mod with v4a fix. None seem to work. The drivers never get installed.
Xposed i haven't tried. I was in process of getting more information about it by reading various threads. But all seem to point to problems like bootloop, fc and Bluetooth issues. Can you guide me towards the best version of xposed for v20d with way to avoid problems or with as less problems as possible?

Flash Imperium Kernel or SimpleGX Kernel. I used their kernels and ROMS on my older phones, they are legend. I suggest you to flash Imperium Rom. It includes kernel and everything and it is updated regularly by its dev.

I think doesn't need to install recovery to root the phone.
Just this:
1) adb reboot bootloader
2) fastboot boot TWRP-2-8.7.0-h815.img
Wait a second and it will open, on the phone, the recovery.
Once open go to Advanced -> ADB sideload and take a swipe to start it where it says "Swipe to Start sideload".
Now on the PC write
3) adb sideload BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip
( If it says after the instalation to install supersu etc just abort it)
And then, when installation is complete, press "Reboot System"
I rooted it this way, without install TWRP Recovery

Yeah - but the question has to be asked - why unlock the bootloader and root and not install TWRP? If you've got as far as unlocking the bootloader you might as well make life easier for yourself and install TWRP - that way anything you want to flash in the future can be done without being tethered to the PC, and also allows you to take proper full system image backups etc.

Of course , i agree with you. By the way, we can't root g4 on m6 without unlocked bootloader.
And finally, i decided to pass twrp on my phone, for every file i want to install from twrp, and not every time to boot from pc

p.s. the first thing i did after twrp installed, was to install g5 live wallpapers

While on fastboot type fastboot devices. Then follow on-screen instructions to unlock bootloader and then
1)Flash twrp recovery through fastboot.
2)Download Thunderzap kernel by varun.chitre and flash it through twrp.
2) Open twrp recovery and flash SuperSu.zip from this link : https://userscloud.com/jh6q7m9sdaqe

rooting the lg g4 h820o after unlocking bootloader without adb

So I unlocked the bootloader of my lg g4, however as much as i try to , I cant flash a recovery to my phone using adb , it just wont work and because of that i can flash supersu and root my device. Is there a way to root my device (my bootloader is already unlocked) without the use of adb or flash a recovery without adb?

Do you have read and followed the official twrp thread? You will not install a recovery by adb but with fastboot instead.
Check my twrp thread for the how-to.

Can I install CWM via the fastboot command?

I'm trying to root my ZE551ML (WW-2.20.40.198) and install Xposed, but I can't get any of the scripts I've found here to work. I've installed ADB & Fastboot and this driver. MTP works and adb works when I'm in recovery mode, so I'm not sure why the scripts can't contact the device. None of the scripts recognize the device. Also, "adb devices" shows that no device is found.
It seems that all these scripts are using some variation of CWM to do it anyway. So if I could just install CWM in some other way, I guess I could just get root and xposed through CWM. I have used this official ASUS app to unlock the bootloader. So, I wonder if I could just flash a recovery.img of CWM using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"? Is that all it would take to get CWM installed? And then I could use CWM to get root, etc?
If yes, which recovery.img file should I use and where can I get it?
I think I can get fastboot to work when the device is in the bootloader, so that's what I'm thinking. Also, I can use OS X or Ubuntu then, so I don't have to worry about the Windows scripts.

Haha, you know, I had been struggling with this problem for like 2 days. So many hours on the computer and Google trying to figure it out. I was trying to get the scripts to work, then CWM, then TWRP. I was just really confused and didn't know how to do it since most guides on Google said I had to use the scripts for Windows. Then finally I realized that it was as simple as using fastboot from OS X Anyway, sorry to bother you guys. But Everything is working now, root, Xposed and permanent TWRP. Awesome
Good stuff
There was a script at the beginning in earlier fw versions I think when boot loader was first being hacked.
Remember , if you upgrade to M , unlock boot loader again at .134 with modder tool in general section before updating to .144 and then to .184.
