Ibolt car dock. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Okay, I have had the note 2 and 3 both worked great in the car using this dock. I loved the ability to get he audio to come out of the phone using the one connection of the USB port and audio from the dock.
From what I have found this is similar to the s5 that the phone allows no audio to pass through he usb connection.
Anyone have any solutions?

[Q] windshield car docks

all of the car docks i have seen for non idevices have very short windshield mounts. are there any windshield car docks that have extensions to get them at least 4 inches long?
and if there aren't any, what tools would i need to use to modify a car dock from griffin that was made for the idevices?
How's this? I don't see any specs but it looks maybe about 4" judging from the scale of the screen size of the phone

Has anyone gotten the audio out functionality of the Samsung car dock working? It has a sticker over it stating that audio out will be enabled when 2.2 is released, but I was hoping some of the other 2.2 releases would have support for it now.
I have the oem car dock. Running nero v3 and I can't get it to work either. I can't understand what is missing from the custom 2.2 roms that wont allow this to work. It should be similar code that the tv out uses. Because the audio comes out of the mini usb port with the tv output also right?

Audio and video work with the TV out functionality when using a micro headphone jack to RCA cable. I tried it with a headphone jack to video/audio output cable that came with a old camcorder. Are you talking about a TV out cable that plugs into the micro-USB port, if so I have never seen one like that.
I have a ~$10 Chinese ebay car dock, and it works perfectly. Ive used it in a vw jetta, toyota sequoia, and a merc e350. no problems. I have an aux in wired to the phone, and power as well via a car charger. audio comes through speakers, and nero v4 has phone calls come through speakers too, and the phone is close enough that people can hear me even if a window is down.
will psot pics later if you want them

I bought the samsung car dock, and i can say that its pretty kick ass. Although its a little frustrating that the audio does not yet work for it, it still is a nice piece to have.
Unfortunately it does'nt seem like any devs have been looking into this. Perhaps its just not very popular yet, but Im keeping my figers crossed that sooner than later it will be sorted out. either by our great developers, or just the release of official 2.2

You could look into a Bracketron custom vehicle mount. It screws into your dashboard so you can add a more permenant mout. I bought one from Quadratec for my Jeep when I bought my G1. It is awesome!

Official Car Dock technical details

Hello, I'm looking to mod a car dock that does two of the primary functions of the official Samsung Galaxy Note car dock:
1.) It should take audio from the Note's USB port and play it through a car stereo system's AUX-in port
2.) It should put the car into driving mode
Does anybody know the pinouts for connecting audio to the micro-USB plug, and what resistors to use to make the Note detect it's in a car dock?
Thanks!
From what i´ve found the following should work on our Galaxy Note:
- Car-Dock is "detected" if you have a 619kOhm resistor between pins 4 and 5
- if Car-Dock is detected D+ and D- (pins 2 and 3) become your audio aux output
Thanks! I'll try that out once I've got all the materials.
Off topic - The only downside to any Samsung dock is that calls won't be directed through usb audio.

I do find that weird. You have to either pick up the phone or use the phone loudspeaker to answer a docked call. How does it work while docked and connected to Bluetooth at the same time, though?
When docked and Bluetooth is connected (native/official car manufactures' Bluetooth connection to CAR Audio System) i have my fully functional hands-free-set operation, voice over car-speaker and car internal micro to Note.
The audio connection is seperate from this hands-free mode, at least with my car.
If connected to blue tooth the sound will come through the bluetooth
I was talking about a situation where u just use the card dock and the car dock audio is connected to the car speaker.

I know this is a month old - it took that long for the materials to come in! - but I just wanted to update that putting a 619k between p4&5 does indeed work to make the Note detect Car Mode. I'm all set to continue modding a broken OtterBox defender holster into a usable car dock! Will post pics once that's done.
BTW the thread I followed step-by-step to get this done is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321491

But 619k doesn't work with the Note 2!

[Q] Note 2 Car Dock: Phone Calls

Not long ago I got the Galaxy Note 2 and I love it. Even to the point of building a car dock from parts made for a Samsung Stratosphere. The dock works great, charging the phone and playing my music directly through the car stereo. However, I found that phone calls, while correctly set to speakerphone on the dock, are still coming through the phone speaker, rather than the car speakers, and since the dock covers the speaker, I can barely hear the person I'm talking to.
Is it normal for the phone to go only through the speaker/headset and ignore the dock, or is perhaps the Stratosphere's dock design the flaw?
In technical design, the Stratophere dock appears to function by taking the 5 pins of MicroUSB and seperating them into two charging pins and the left, right, and ground for stereo audio, connected to a standard 3.5mm jack. Knowing that the Galaxy Note 2 uses an 11 pin MicroUSB port, could that be the compatibility issue? As I mentioned, music and other phone audio plays properly through my dock, so why wouldn't the phone?
If there's an override possible, my phone does have full root access, but is otherwise still on full stock software.
Don't know about that dock idea - not familiar with it. Don't want to be dismissive if that's your only option, but best way is just get a Bluetooth Car Stereo. Then you can connect via BT and music and calls will come out the speakers. Some also have usb input as well.
I do know I tried using 5pin cables with the Note 2 and they don't work for various applications. You can verify this if you look up threads on video adapters for example. BTW, when you get a phone call, you do know about the output select screen right? Choices for Speaker, Headset (usually BT) - you can try deselecting Speaker... But I guess you've tried that.

[Q] car dock with USB audio and charging

Does anyone know if one exists? I would love to have a single cable in my phone to charge and for audio. Unfortunately my car stereo (Audi rnse) doesn't support Bluetooth streaming.

I really doubt this will work for your nexus 5, but a search on ebay found this to be the closest to what your asking for:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-B-USB...Phone_PDA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item5d40faf05b
If your car at least has aux output, then you can either use a usb car charger as well. plug the audio into the aux port, the usb into charging port, and then the micro usb into your phone. The ebay listing states specifically for certain phone models, nothing even close to a nexus though. But for under $10, its worth a shot.
I have a USB charger and aux port but means two wires annoyingly. Does nexus 5 support audio out via USB?

why not use a bluetooth audio adapter which connects to the AUX port if you have one, i have no wires anymore to my phone , i use the OWL Carpad Qi charger (i have some issues right now but seems like hardware issue) and i use a Belkin AirCast Car Audio Wireless Bluetooth AUX Music HandsFree Kit, i normally wanted to go with the Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit but thats no available in my country .
So i go into my car just mount the phone in the car pad were i also use a nfc tag to enable bluetooth and turn off other stuff, and start the engine, now my phone gets charged then I press the belkin and i am connected and music is playing , i also use it now as my handsfree because i am absolutely fine with the quality.
For USB audio you will need a car stereo that supports audio over USB. I suggest looking into Bluetooth. That's how I do it and I love it.

Try them out, that is what I use and I simply plug the usb cable into the GROM Audio box, then into my phone, and enjoy music from my phone and charging as well.
For the dock, I just use the InfiniApps Slyde Magnetic CD Slot Mount($25 on Amazon)
I tried with my old GSII car dock and it's not working.

Does the Grom Audio box USB cable audio streaming works with the Nexus 5? I'm considering buying it but searching around I'm not sure it works with the Nexus 5.

[Q] iBolt Audio cable - No USB audio.

I only see one reference for the iBolt power/audio cable problem for the AT&T Note 4.
the old post was over a year ago.
I just got my Note 4 and unfortunately have had it for over 30 days and I am stuck.
Why is the issue with no USB audio from this phone? Not a DAC out. The iBolt audio cable worked great on all the previous phones.
And for that point, where is the Car Mode app too.
Is there any fix for this, I really need this to work.
it is upsetting that this is removed on these phones.
What is the story guys?
A simple car kit would be great but it seems this phone doesn't work well for this at all.
Any insight?????
