Android file transfer

Android File transfer works, but when you start Note 2 with USB tethering on Mac, it closes. No way to access the files on phone/sd card while phone is usb tethered to the internet on Mac.
Also when you want to read the files on usb/sd card, why does it have to copy the files to local computer hard drive. Why can't it just read it from phone, like a USB drive or something.

Have you tried Kies? I currently run VMWare and Windows 7 as a virtual machine; It makes things pretty simple and works perfectly. Kies for mac is a free download.

Pb with accessing sdcard on USB

Hi,
Since recently I can't access the Galaxy Note II SD card when connected on USB. I'm on Osx and I'm using Android File Transfert.
It was works like a charm. Now I can plug the phone have acces to the internal storage, but when I try to access the SD card the message telling that the device may be lock or unplugged is displayed.
I'm on Android 4.3 Stock. I search on internet but found nothing conclusive.
Thanks.
Regards,

[Q] Setting xperia s to show physical drives on pc

I have just rooted my Sony xperia s thinking that this will help me in trying to recover files. However I am still having issues with this.
Thing is when you plug the device in it just shows as a media device and not an actual physical drive so any recovery software that I use can not pick up the individual drives.
What else can I do so that when the phone is plugged into the pc it is recognised as a physical drive and given a drove letter?
This would be a huge help as I have lost quite a few different files that I would like back.
Thanks
Karl
One way is to use Samba Filesharing over WiFi.
Once you have established a connection on your PC (NetBIOS Name) you can then map a drive.
This assumes you have root access on your phone and a WiFi LAN.
Well, there is this app which helps You Mount internal storage as usb storage on PC, but it is a paid app:
Xperia SDCARD Mounter
Edit : There seems to be a free version here: [APP][P] SD Mounter as Mass Storage V2.0

Question Can not access NVME

Ive always used an NVME drive for installing my prefered apps and moving media.
Its a simple 1tb drive in a usbC enclosure. All my other phone have seen it since Android 9.
I plug it in, and the system acknowledges it by saying USB storage added.
however I cant access the drive.
None of my file explorers see it.
I have gone into dev options and tried all the different usb options
I do get to a USB Setting page where it says controlled by connected device, or this device. But I cant switch.
How do I access the drive? I cant find an otg toggle anywhere???

Cannot access SD Card in PC Web Browser

I am running Android 11 on my T-Mobile LG G8 ThinQ. I noticed that I cannot access the SD Card files when I'm using Wi-Fi File Transfer Pro or any other Android app that lets you browse files in your PC web browser. Android 9 and 10 also has this problem. I think it's the phone because I was able to browse the SD Card on my LG G6 just fine with no issues. If I were to do a direct connection using a USB Type-C cable to PC, then I can access the SD Card. But I want to use Wi-Fi because it's much faster.
Why not just mount the sdcard onto Windows as a drive letter over Wi-Fi?
That's some pretty advanced stuff. I'll have to look into this. Thanks!
