Anyone know if you can get rid of the huge AT&T sign in the upper left? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Anyone know if you can without root?

Nope, need xposed to remove or change carrier label.

Shoot. You can remove it on the new moto c without root. Oh well, I am hoping we get root but don't think devs are getting the att note 4. They will get the t-mobile one and use it on att

Download Internet speed meter. It replaces the carrier label and displays your current Internet speed, no root required.

Not a bad option! Thanks

I wear my Gear 2 Neo daily so this doesn't bug me anymore. The gear icon replaces the AT&T icon.

I installed Adblock Plus and it removed the carrier label

Got it and downloaded it. Does it really block ads when you are not rooted

It should the only thing is it cannot change your ip routes automatically that requires root so it will ask you to manually configure it.

I don't think the Play store likes ad blockers. I got it from here: https://adblockplus.org

Oh, so sorry!

Anyone else installed that Ad Block? I'm a little weary.

Why? I use it to block all ads on WiFi and on data. It's blocking ads withour rooting

{APP} Adblocker download links official

I'm sure people have noticed Google took down all ad blocking apps from the playstore. This is just link to the Adblock Plus website http://adblockplus.org/releases/adblock-plus-11-for-android-released
EDIT: here's the link for AdAway if it's wanted:.. https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.adaway

Adblocker vs. Adaway...... which is better?
gave it a try, make sure you read the instructions on what to do, b/c u have to ad a proxy also localhost:2020 is the default.
So it worked, but on some pages, it would give me a couldn't make a secure connection... I'm guessing whenever an ad gets blocked.
the youtube app couldn't make a connection either.
uninstalled it for now, gonna wait until they have it more down pat to reinstall

It's what I've been using for awhile now, seems to do the trick for the most part....
Pardon me for the stupid question but I can't understand what exactly this app does. I mean the browsers block all ads as it is...does it really help with apps as well? I probably never noticed..
I've always used adfree, are these any different?
I prefer Adaway because it's easy to whitelist sites I do want to visit

How to delete ads from Fire TV?

I recently setup a VPN on my desktop that bypassed my OpenDNS account. I didn't release that it did it for my entire network. I did the internal updater block, so luckily I didn't lose root. But now I am getting ads on one of the games I downloaded to the Fire TV. Is there anyway to block these and delete the package that it downloaded?
I use AdAway on my phone so I installed on FTV and it works for blocking ads well. I dont know which ads it blocks because I have always had it on there. The only one that I know is the showbox app. It had annoying ads across bottom and after video was done. They are completely blocked now. Hopefully someone will answer the question about how to remove the package it installed.

Adblock plus for Android. This is the latest version, 1.2.1 and I find it's not blocking adds on my AFTV, so I went back to an older version.
UPDATE:
I find the above link app doesn't block anything for me, so I went back to the one I was using before:
https://mega.co.nz/#!9w1GiSaT!ntXn4kiQWiEoTiFaeBDE9cRFHoWa5-U0qxGk13KOg3Q
This is version 1.0.1 that I got off of the piratebay. It has the Fanboy List, which is what I've been using to block stuff.
Also going to point out there is the Lucky Patcher, which can try to remove ads from individual apps, amongst other things. Google for it. Grab any version from a source you trust, and it will auto update to the latest version if you give it a min after opening it. Needs root of course.

Yup. Install adblock. But then the whole thing hangs when it tries to play the ads. They are sneaky.

[Q] Block ads on note4?

With root on my SIII I used Adaway and never saw ads. I never realized how great this was. Can anyone recommend anything similar for this phone?
Thank you in advance!

If you're not rooted, you could download apps that can remove ads from your downloaded apps. Check this out and pick one.

Adblock Plus actually worked really good, but it seems to only block ads on wifi. Any good ones that block ads on both wifi/4G?

unfortunately, only rooted devices are able to filter ads on 3g/4g. On older android version and other service provider, we could add proxy to APN to make it works on 3g/4g but our Verizon note4 this function is blocked. To reduce ads on 3g/4g, you can use Chrome to block popup ads and also enable data usage in Chrome settings.

Adhell content blocker for Samsung no root required

Not sure if this has been posted yet, if it has just delete my post. There's a new app in playstore called Adhell. Seems to work great so far it does not require root but does require admin access to use the builtin samsung firewall to block the ads. Also includes a package disabler but I have not used it yet. Best of all the app is free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.getadhell.androidapp&hl=en
I have been using this app for quite awhile now and it does it's job. My phone is not rooted and the app is very silent and has a few options. Definitely worth a try.
Thanks for the tip, I find myself grappling with the question "Do I need to be rooted still or not" .... its getting less and less prevalent. Ad Block is one of the last features still requiring it I'll check this out when I reflash and not rooted :good:

Directly Install Good Lock & Galaxy Labs Apps (and all their modules) from Galaxy Store

The safest way to install good lock and galaxy labs apps and its modules is thru the Galaxy Store. But it's officially available to India and USA users only. Here's the workaround if you are from other places:
1. Eject your sim tray.
2. Install a VPN app and connect to a US location.
3. Perform clear data on galaxy store app.
4. Open galaxy store app and you can already search the Good Lock and Galaxy Labs apps. You can now install them and the modules inside them.
5. You can now reinsert sim tray and disconnect vpn.
You can watch this video if you want a visual guide/demo:
Not hard at all. You need to install the core app, Good Lock first before anything else in that family.

And what makes you think this is not a safe source? I think anyone who doesnt have access to good lock should just install from APK Mirror.

On another note those who cant get it can also try Nice Lock

True that, great for calling me out on that.
Scan it with online with Virus Total and see what's there before you install it...
While I never found any viruses with it I have found files that shouldn't have been in the app. Probably were harmless but better safe than reloading.
But why is it geo locked in the first place

it could be for, to us at least, trivial reason of not being translated into other languages

Still doesn't support Europe even after downloading and installing the app.
If you are not in one of the supported countries, the instructions in the first message is the only way.
Why are you guys not using nice lock?
I don't think it's translating that's an issue. It's not available here in the Philippines and we're known to know how to speak/understand English.
All OK it works perfectly, I used another VPN, Thanks and sorry for my english
@tribalfs
thanks for the solution my friend, I have only one problem, after day or two, good lock becomes unusable again with network error, says:
"There was a network or server error. Try again later - 401."
If I want to use it again, I have to do the whole procedure again, can somebody maybe help me, do you know some kind of workaround?
Cheers

Good Lock is checks for updates at least once a day.
Probably how you're getting flagged.
However if you Firewall block it at least on my device it continues to run regardless.
Try that.
I use Karma Firewall, freeware with no ads and extremely low battery usage.
