[Q] Rogers Galaxy Nexus on Mobilicity

Hi There,
Not sure if anyone will have an answer to this until Rogers officially releases the phone, but will a Galaxy Nexus phone bought from rogers work on Mobilicity?
I've heard that the phones selling from Bell do work on Wind/Mobilicity/other 1700(AWS) frequencies, but I'm not sure if this will be the case for Rogers.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks
galaxy nexus is a pentaband phone, it has both GSM and AWS bands so yeah, a Rogers version would work on mobilicity.
and since the phone is unlocked, a any carrier version of galaxy nexus should work on any carrier, except for the LTE version.

[Q] GSM galaxy nexus (telus, etc)...2g compatibility?

quick question for anyone that has either travelled from Canada to the US or someone from the US using a Canadian (at least, telus/bell) galaxy nexus GSM...
I have a galaxy nexus from telus...as we know here in Canada, 2g on telus and bell doesn't exist as they had CDMA networks...but the galaxy nexus itself is pentaband GSM and works on almost all carriers worldwide...
i'm going to the US in a little while and i was wondering if 2g will work on my phone if i pop in a t-mobile prepaid sim...
(what i'm going to do is buy a prepaid sim for a buck and activate the daily plans...)
I know it should work on their "4g" plan, which is really HSPA+...so the same as ours...so i'm just wondering if the plans/bands will work on t-mobile? or just 4g? or both 2g and 4g?
thanks!

T-Mobile Note 2 on Wind and Bell Mobility

Hello all,
Thinking about buying the T-Mobile Note 2 which I plan to use on my T-Mobile prepaid line. But also use with my 2 accounts in Canada on Bell Mobility and Wind Mobile, if I get the T-Mobile Note 2 and unlock it, will I have any issues using it on either on these two Canadian carriers? Is anyone else doing this?
I don't care for LTE, HSPA or HSPA+ is good enough for me.
Hey, if the phone is unlocked you should be able to use it with both Wind and Bell straight out of the box with no modifications and get HSPA+ connectivity.

[Q] SGH-I747M - Unlocking and changing carrier networks

Hello guys! I'm using the I747M variant which I bought from Rogers about 8 months ago and I want to know if I can switch to other carriers network here in Canada via unlocking because Rogers' available phone plans are just a pain in the ass so I want to switch networks. So please kindly share any information regarding unlocking and changing carrier networks. Thanks in advance

Once unlocked, It is guaranteed to work with Bell and Telus.
Hope this helps :good:
Search for it, it's around here in the forums for free. You just need a simcard from the next provider you wish to go to.

How about on other networks such as Mobilicity? My mom is on a plan on Mobilicity and I also want the same plan because my phone is kinda useless without internet and not even a caller ID.
once unlocked it'd most likely work
but for the data part, i can't really say because different mhz on different carrier network..
so 70% chance that you will only get Edge in your area
Does anyone knows any information on how to change radio frequencies on a phone? I've seen some SG3 on ebay.ca that is labelled as "Pentaband" and could work with any carrier network here in Canada. Can someone please explain to me how does this work? And is it possible for my phone to be converted into a "Pentaband" phone?
Mobilicity does not use the same bands as Rogers, Bell or Telus for its HSPA/HSPA+ service. As Pcshano said, your phone would work on Mobilicity, but only on Edge.
You encounter the same problem as T-Mobile users in the US, and WIND and Videotron in Canada. See [WIP][BOUNTY] Enable 3G on 1700MHz for ATT Galaxy S3 i747 on efforts to enable HSPA on 1700MHz on the i747.

at&t note 4 in Canada (Telus)

I'm looking to upgrade my phone to the Galaxy note 4. I live in Toronto, Canada and see that there's someone selling an unlocked at&t note 4.
Are there any minuses to buying an AT&T phone and using it in Canada? LTE bands are the same as my carrier (Telus). Will I not get updates or have any other issues?
Thanks in advance!

I have the same phone (N910A) should work fine with Telus ( with Public Mobile = uses Telus/Bell towers).
Only issue with AT & T variant is it isn't rootable if that is what you want later on.
Thanks for the answer, and esp the tip on rooting!
