cannot download ROM
Hello,
I am trying to download this ROM but there's an error on Mega. I have KitSlim AMG, I know what I have to do to install this ROM, I have the tools but not so much luck with downloading this ROM to install it.
Do you have another link for download? Mega says error ...
Thank you in advance.

This rom is the best

Few Questions:
Is this ROM already Deodexed?
Do I still need Super User for this ROM?
I have a prob with 4k(Not working) and Portrait Touch(Lacks the other apps it came from)
is this normal?

Baseband
Hello friends, it is extracted from the new FW last baseband with the number 51, and create it as a Flash file? It would have helped me if it could jit.Extract file does not exist? Thank you.

Still download link not working...

MyXperia
I installed the ROM and was amazed - it works perfectly.
UNTIL I activated MyXperia (Tracking Phone etc). The device got stuck and was now placed in a bootloop...
Is there a fix for this? Maybe this is a little Bug
Allready flashed it again so it is working again.

sorry to ask but can you please provide whole link and instruction how to properly flash this rom? since i read on comment some others things that need to be flash but link wasnt on the thread. Tq for hearing

Cannot add Google Account to Contacts
Hello guys, I have a very strange problem...
I can add a Google account on first startup after installing this ROM, setup sync, everything seems to be fine, some apps start to update...thats all good...Gmail works, Google Play works... But, when I start contacts app or go to contacts from dialer, I can see no contacts there, and there is only option to add a Exchange account, but not Google account... Filters are set correctly... It is really strange and I have never seen anything like this before... I even tried a third party contacts app from Google Play, but the options were the same... My previous ROM was AOKP, I installed stock 108 ROM using Flashtool, then rooted, then flashed Recovery, then installed this, with of course full wipe and everything. Didnt find any other issue, everything is fast, smooth, and working fine... Except I cannot call to anyone because I dont have any numbers...
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you!

Contacts again!
Ok, so it took one night without sleep, but I seem to find the reason... First a question: What exactly is, or more specifically is NOT in the ROM if I choose to remove bloatware during the instalation? Because, if I choose not to remove it, contacts work... If I choose to remove it, contacts just won't work. Again, any clarification from someone who can explain this is welcome...
Thank you!

of course, because in the debloating script there are two entries:
googlecontactssyncadapter.apk
googlecalendarsyncadapter.apk
Debloat your ROM with the script, reboot, put both attached apk´s into /system/app folder, set permission to rw-r-r and reboot.

Thank you for the info, I'm just curious, why are these two apk files removed by the script? They look pretty useful to me...? Also is there any other surprise to look for if I choose to debloat the ROM? Right now I am running "bloated" version, and so far I am happy with it, so I am not sure if its worth it... What is the main advantage? (yea, I know - "if you have no idea what it does, then you probably don't need it")
There doesn't seem to be a big difference in internal storage space either...
Thanks again

RW to system?
I tried to install debloated ROM and then copy the two apk files to system/app, but I wasnt able to get write permission, despite having root access. Digging up some info, I found out that some kernels might be locked to write to system folder despite being rooted. Can this be the case? In any case, I probably wont be poking my nose into that again, but I just would like to know for future. Thank you!
EDIT: Nevermind, found this, which makes remount possible...

To Dev's: why not moving ALL non essential apps from the /system/app

Hello all dev's,
I get really frustrated on most of the ROM's because I get always some applications that I cannot remove manually.
It can be a lot of applications in the "official Froyo+sense" ROM like plurk, Facebook, etc.. Amazon in CyanogenMod, or other stuffs in other ROMs.
Why the hell don't you automatically allow us to remove ALL non essential apps from the settings/applications/manage applications? I have seen that you are able to do that.
Is there a technological reason? Why do you move some applications and not all?
Is that a space matter? A performance or technological reason?
I feel really frustrated on each ROM because I have to always use "adb shell rm system/app/*.apk" and plug my device on the computer.
Please answer me.
Thanks.
Profete162
Can't answer the question but good call.
personally I think all ROMS should come with Titanium backup and Rom Manager. but everything else should be user modifiable.
Profete162: you could open the zip prior to install and delete the apps you don't want then flash?
Exactly that - open the ZIP and remove what you don't want. It's the first thing I do with a new ROM and I also add what I do wanna use so it can't get deleted. Hell of a lot easier than adb

Yes, but it took maybe 10 minuts for maybe 2.000 users of the ROM or more if the ROM is Cyanogen.
It's a waste of 20.000 minuts for the world.. and we have to do that on each update.flash lol
When the dev with it's experience have only 2 minuts maybe to do that.
I understand that that's not a really big problem and the dev's have a lot of things to keep in mind, baut may be a good suggestion I hope for the next ROMS

The Devs have to cater for everyone. Some people need those apps and would ditch the ROM if they were removed. If you don't need them just open the zip and remove them. It's not as if it takes more than 2 minutes.
To be fair, this post is just highlighting your laziness to open up an zip manager and press delete a few times. Dev's have to cater for everyone, not just you.

That's exactly why I ask to Move all the apps in the deletable section. So easier work for the dev's and no complain!!!

I want to delete them but allow to delete them. I think it's a fair question and you havn't understood the meaning of my request. I would like to add the possibility to remove them, just that.
I don't understand why question sound stupid to you!
The dev's are adding the old app2sd, spare parts, and some apps that it take 2 minuts to add too! So why my request is different from other?

Those 'non essential' apps are essential to some of us. So why take them out??
It's so much easier to remove apps than it is to add them back in. Just remove them from the zip file as said if you don't like them before you flash.
And why the attitude? Questions that start 'Why the hell ...' and statements like 'I'm so frustrated ....' Mate - get a grip. Relax. It's a phone. You can remove the apps and if not just ignore them.

The issue is that moving it into a user partition is then consuming valuable application space, and the spare space in /system is then effectively wasted.
If it's an issue, why not delete the apps from the zip yourself and then post your stripped down ROM, saving 19990 minutes!

Dave

You could always make your own roms, that way it would be catered to your needs
You are right, " you have just to make your own ROM" is the universal solution.
Sorry for my question/request, I was just looking for a solution to make the Rom more open without adding stuff.
Sorry for my post and have a good day.
You can let it go through the "forgotten posts"
I understand your request and must agree to some extent, it would be nice to have the apps a place where we can choose wheter to keep or not without having to use usb/computer or per delete every zip
But ofc just the non essential ones
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
U cant odex Apps in data Partition so it saves ALOT of space to store Apps (odexed) in system.

Few little facts an reasons why,
The andoid system its self depends on a lot of apps that are and should be stored in /system.
We cannot modify /system easily as HTC Locked write access to the /system partition. (we only have partial root access, this is why you guys are having issues with titanium)
apk.s in /data cannot be odexed in the same way and would use twice as much space if stored in /data.
hope this gives you a better understanding.. Dont flame the Devs
Can we please get this thread closed...
Anyway u can check out my Rom? Lols. I should be always be releasing 2 version of the rom for all of my updates if time let me.. 1 full 1 bare minimum lite version rom.

I hope that Plurk, Teeter, etc.. are not essential by the way

I didnt know it was that easy.
So on DeVillian quick office is already installed and is 5mb.
so do i just delete the apk from the zip and re flash?
If people demand it, I'll write an app to move files from data to system and backwards,
you'll basically be able to choose the app you want to move and then the phone reboots to recovery and moves the chosen apps to the destination you want it to be.
I even thought about odexing apps and removing the dex files from the apks.
So if people want it I'll probably start writing the code on sunday.

[APP / THEME] Inverted Jelly Bean Google Apps / Black & Blue

Hi everybody,
OP UPDATED :
I just wanted to share these beautifull Inverted Black and Blue Apps. I'm only a messenger here, and had the kind authorisation and support of NCANDIANO to post these here for everybody. Please thank him, and most important, go show your love on ROMDROIDHACKS Forum, which is really great !
I didn't made these, so I'll take no credits. Please thank NCandiano, and ROMDROIDHACKS :
Original Thread here : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15-twistedx-theme/
The amazing TWISTED(X) Theme, made by NCANDIANO, will only work with KILLROMS , but as he's a real Gentleman, he made separate inverted apps only package, for us to use with all other Roms (should work on all J.B ROMS.)
What you'll find (Quoted from Twisted(X) Thread) :
Inverted (Black and Blue) GApps & Extras:
TwistedAppsOnly: http://db.tt/DX8nht1F (Contains for your pleasure: Updated Contacts, Calendar, Gmail, MMS, and Keyboard, Google Now, Email, Calculator, Google Talk, Phonesky(market))(This pack can be used with any 4.1.1 Roms. Google Now may have to be installed seperately, however.)
Flashable App-Zips: For your convenience. In the event you'd like to sample one or two flavors, this is the menu. Have at it.
Gmail: http://db.tt/1veBVDpY
Calendar: http://db.tt/nOxUy7b4
Contacts: http://db.tt/ezCjuaxC
MMS: http://db.tt/dXKhhsf2 (This is the Mms from KillRom, with QuickText)
Keyboard: http://db.tt/VbXsfbbI
GoogleNow: http://db.tt/jDLqcwM0 (You need to be on the updated Google Search from the market for this to work. See disclaimer above regarding if it doesn't take on the first flash!)
GoogleTalk: http://db.tt/waeB0yuJ
Email: http://db.tt/rJ4R5xbd
Calculator: http://db.tt/sYd5V5o6
Market(Phonesky): http://db.tt/H2T9fhVz
FOR BETTER AND NICER AND BIGGER SCREENSHOTS, WELL GO TO : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15-twistedx-theme/
I particularly advise using these apps with the wonderful RASBEANJELLY ROM, which is already all Black and Blue : http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=rasbeanjelly&device=maguro
OR of course using the Original Theme with KILLROMS : http://romdroidhacks.com/forums/
Instructions for flashable zip : wipe cache and dalvik, flash and reboot.
If you want to revert to stock apps...then you'll have to flash again your Rom after having performed a cache and dalvik wipe.
Usual Disclamer : I'm not responsible for the damages that these could eventually cause to you phone. I suppose you're grown-up people, so you don't need me to hold your hand...blah, blah,.......BUT these apps should not harm your phone if you follow instructions...
Yay... Looking good.
Thanks for sharing.
Would it be possible for me to edit the text (e.g in Gmail) to white?

Has anyone managed to install the quicksearch inverted app? I tried both installing it as a normal apk file and moving it to system/app/ after removing velvet.apk (which should be the normal app) but in the first case I get an error message saying it's not a valid apk file and in the second case it doesn't pop up anywhere in my installed apps list after rebooting the device. Thank you.

Try this one and report ; you don't need to delete first the old one, just put the new one in system/app folder, it will override it, and the phone will reboot.

Oh, that's must be why then. I had moved out of the /system/app folder the original velvet.apk in my attempts. Now even if I move it back to the app folder, the stock google search app won't appear in the apps list no matter what. I guess I have to flash gapps again and then follow your procedure.

Yes, i think deleting first the file must "disturb" the system somehow...
Try with the Quicksearchbox in OP, and if it doesn't work, then try the Velvet one.
Instead of deleting or moving the original files. Just rename them. Then it's easy to undo the changes.
Remember to check that permissions are set.

You are right, I should've just renamed it. That was my bad, I thought that following the rootzwiki inverted gmail client installation procedure would work with those apk as well (mount /system for W permissions as root, delete /system/app/gmail.apk and then install the custom gmail.apk as a normal apk file).
For the record's sake, I've tried flashing latest gapps but I couldn't manage to make google search pop again. Maybe I should just do a clean flash of the rom again and try with the correct procedure.
What's strange is that i'm using too Rasjellybean 9th Aug , and i installed this without any issue.
So volapyk is right , this could be a permission problem.
Vaalen , have you tried the velvet apk too ?
And before reflashing default gapps , have you wipe cache and dalvik ?
Flashable Zips- Black Velvet Forthcoming
I added the apks into flashable zips. They're generic zip flashers they'll work in any recovery. Just wipe cache/dalvik and flash. It's not always just the name with the QSB apk, so I'm going to put together a Velvet.apk when I get home later, in the meantime these should make for easier installs for those who don't want to be messing around in the system/app folder. I'm PMing you the links because XDA won't let me link (not enough posts,) If you would update the OP I'd appreciate it.
**Black and blue UI, Framework, and Inverted Notifications Shade are only supported at the HIVE for Axiom ROMs at the moment.
Enjoy your JellyBean!
OP is updated with your flashable zip NCandiano, again a huge thank to you. As i said i just wanted to use these apps on other roms, and pulled these from your beautiful PZ Theme, and with your permission posted here.
But i didn't think you'd come and offer us even better ! That's great mate ! You deserve your own thread for your own work buddy ! I'm just a user who appreciate and share your work.
Flashed MMS apk and gmail apk. MMS apk works great except when you click a thread on the main screen the area you click doesn't highlight. Is this how it should be? Also gmail apk only screen that is dark is the main home screen. When you click to read an email it is white. Normal as well? Thanks!

you can install the Bloatware for this ROM from here...just download the bloatware and reboot to recovery and this will install all the samsung stuff thats not in Aroma, there is a guide on how to install individual application by moving the apk files within this bloatware zip. Already moved the file to the System/app folder, checked the permissions, rebooted and it did not work.
Guess I'll have to install the whole package via recovery and then delete what I do not want.
If you can give me any other tips, I am grateful.

I been having an issue with Netflix running in your rom. The app keeps spinning and times out with an error message (-9) which means it can't connect to its servers. Is there any way to have this app flash upon install might correct it.
If I flash from Kit Kat to Lollipop in ODIN the Netflix App works just fine. OBTW Thanks for your continue effort to make this Rom work.

If you want to try this. This is a older version of netflix but it gets past the spinning screen for me. I dont have a login to check further but this may be a temporary fix. Just uninstall your current version and reinstall this. make sure it doesnt auto update if it works.
Netflix

Netflix App Not Working
I am using version 2.7 of MoROM and have been quite pleased with it. Only problem is that I cannot get netflix app to stream now. The app opens into my account without problems on the version provided by the flashable on by MoROM but will not stream any selections. Any ideas for a fix would be appreciated.
Posting here as I don't have quite enough posts for the Dev forum.
Dirty flashed 2.8 > Button Restore > Dark theme and lost the Phone and Contact apps on Boot.
Reflashed 2.8 and Button Restore as the dark notification theme still had a few issues (quick reply buttons weren't themed and various artifacts from the light version still hanging out) and I wanted to try to get the phone part of my phone back to no avail. There is a post in the Dev forum about a guy who cleaned flashed 2.8 and has the same issue.
To give more light, I was able to install a 3rd party dialer from the play store which seems to work fine. Making a call from there ends up bringing me into the TouchWiz dialer/in-call screen which shows that the core of the phone app is still there, this might just be a launcher issue.

I had the same issue with a clean flash. The developer is looking into it now.
OEM Light Keyboard Not Working
The flashable zip file does not add the OEM Samsung Lollipop Keyboard. Please check the posted file and issue another working one if possible.
Thanks for the great work.
boot animation
Hey really nice rom! I was just wondering if it would be possible to flash the stock samsung boot animation?
Long Press Home button?
Anyone having the long-press for the home button not taking them to the search/google now/google app? It doesn't do anything. Maybe I've got a setting messed up somewhere. Can't figure it out though.
I just updated and that's the only thing I see missing.
Thanks for all the hard work!
Yes same here tried reinstalling clearing the defaults data cache.

This works for me. You may have something installed with xposed changing that button. Either way you can install gravity box and go to the navigation key section and change the longpress home button to whatever you want. I have mine set to open up recents but I just put it back to default and it opened google now. This is on the most recent update 4.0

Is it possible to take the upgrade directly from Jasmine ROM 1.0?
Thanks
Just received my DE Note 4 and uh oh....
Well, I don't have sufficient posts yet to post to the forum so I'll post here. I just realized after having my developer edition note 4 for only a week that i made the same mistake as two others on the forum of flashing the retail note 4 verizon firmware. ACHK! Sometimes I'm so INCREDIBLY STUPID!!!! Going to call Sammy to see what they will say. So so so stupid of me....
Update
So a quick update. Samsung will not over the phone say that they can help in any way. I'm hoping others have had better luck reflashing a DE Note 4 to stock firmware.
