Quick Connect update error. - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been pouring through every little nook and cranny on my brand spanking new Note 4.
Upgraded from a Note 2 and this thing is a Gem.
Anyhow, When i launch quick connect from the drop down window, it says theres a new version and to update it. But when i try to update it it yields an error -
Product does not exist in this store. (4002)
Anybody else seeing this?
ANy idea of a solution?

I don't get an error, but I've found the feature mostly useless.. I connected to my wife's phone and sent her a simple pic. It was a pretty big hassle. Was much easier to just text it.
One useful thing was to screencast to my roku. Worked fairly well, but I would rarely use it.

the s5 quick connect update works. but the one for the note 4 doesnt.
Its a problem with the galaxy store.
but i cant find the quick connect update app in the store.. doesnt show up on a search.
would the apk for the s5 also work for the note 4?

You need to go to Appications>All>Quick connect> Clear cache

I had the exact same problem. What solved it for me was...
Settings
Applications tab
Application manager
Click on 'all'
Go to the Quick Connect app
Clear Data
Hope that sorts yours out too.

Just did an update to Quick Connect and now I can't find my roku 3 when I search for devices. Very disappointed. Any suggestions? I don't know how to go back to prior app b4 update.

I'l getting this error too. I'm very unhappy with this new tablet. The software is busted out of the box

quick connect just tells me to update and when i press update, it boots me off back to home screen. Very frustrating to have a feature you can't use, or delete, or fix. I have a T-mobile Note 4. I can't figure out any solution for it, except to wait for marshmallow update 6.0. Maybe it will become optional in settings once the update hits.

Sky Mobile Application for Win 6 users

Sky have finally pulled their finger out and written a dedicated windows 6.* application to allow people to use remote record (you need to register with sky for this)
Have tested it on my Touch HD running KWBR's vanilla rhodium 6.5 based rom and it all works fine

Here is the link from the sky pages.
The link on the site (http://p.wecomm.com/sky) goes to all of the different versions that you can get and I just uploaded the Touch HD one for everyone yesterday.
Have confirmed it as all working fine yesterday and have successfully set remote record for 2 programs without any issue (as I had an existing username/password for remote record when i used to use the java app on my N95)

Other than the popup keyboard when trying to sign in, I would say on initial looks this is pretty sweet! We've been waiting for a dedicated app for a long time and I for one am happy I no longer need to use the web browser to view the tv guide.
So far so good, +1 for the happy user list.
The keyboard is a bit crap isn't it and it kind of gets in the way when entering your username/password, but after that it isn't an issue at all.
Thanks for posting this - it's exactly what I've been waiting for too.
I've set a couple of things to Record, so now I need to check on my Sky+ Box at home to make sure it's all going through.

I had that issue one time last night, and had to close it via the task manager. I'm willing to put up with that for the convenience that this app brings though!
Just got the Christmas Radio Times today, so i am sure i will be using this app loads over the festive period when I am away from home.

Yep, same for me but I can minimise it and close via task manager. All the recordings I set worked a treat and for me this is a definate keeper!

What's more weird though is that I tried it yesterday before I'd registered the online userid etc and I was able to see the EPG. So far so good.
Now that I've registered an account and linked it to my actual Sky subscription etc, the EPG doesn't work.
I get the main menu, EG Entertainment/Documentaries/Kids/Movies etc but no matter which I select, the next screen is blank and no epg content is shown.
Any ideas?

No you don't need the phoneline plugged in. I've never had the phoneline plugged in for my Sky+ and this app works just fine.
I may try out one of the java based versions later on though, to see if the exit bug is fixed on that one

The phone line on your Sky+ Box does not need to be plugged in for this to work.
I had the same problem with an empty EPG when I changed my Region to SouthEast (Sky+ Options within the App) - I set it back to London and it worked fine.
Thanks for the tip - changed to London again and sure enough the epg works again.
Can't record though still. I got an error saying my profile isn't allowed to record so I googled it and found it's because I'm not the 'primary' account holder (my wife is), so I tried it by activating it with her details and I still get the same error even though I'm logging in with her details and it accepts the login and has been confirmed as activated.
Grrr, and WTF?

I changed my entry to "London and South East" and it worked fine - I think it's a case of finding the right one for your area.
As for the Recording, so need to make sure your Sky+ Box has the Account Registered and that you have Registered for Remote Record.

Not saving password
Hi,
I have got this app up and running and have entered my user id and password and am then able to access the epg and record programs.
However, if i exit the app and then restart it, it does not remember my password and I have to re-enter it - a bit of a pain to do this each time.
I did hit the Save button after entering the password.
Is anyone else having this problem.

Trying to use samsung push service to use the samsung app application

I just bought a Note 8. When I go to push service or Samsung Apps, it makes me select a country. When I select the country it will freeze for a few seconds, and then give me an error saying unfortunately samsung apps wont open. I reseted the tab 3 times. I exchanged it for another, and it still does it. Has anyone had this issue, or does anyone have a resolution. Please Help. Thanks!!

yeah i has the same problem . i just hit the french tab and let it update then signed into my account. and it automatically found my region. hope this helps.

[Q] Can't take a note???

Hi, I am having problems trying to take notes or make a list using voice. I have Google keep for notes etc and enabled in the phone wear app. If I say hello google and ask a question it responds immediately with an answer from Wikipedia. If I say take a note it says speak now I say quick note and it spins for a bit then says " can't reach google at the moment". I have been testing this for days but cannot get it to work, as I say it works perfectly if I ask the temperature or ask a question it's just the note taking it comes back with unable to contact google. Can anybody help???? Grant.

Sorry mate....all works fine here....i guess the problem is on your phone side... Uninstall google keep and install it again....do you have any firewall on your phone? May be the keep just is not getting the internet juice....

Thanks for reply, I got it working by uninstalling the updates to the Google app on my phone, made sure it was not on auto update and bingo working perfectly. A bit odd but nevertheless it worked. Came across this tip on another forum. Cheers Grant.

Ok, my first thread and I have a questions and I would love to know if any other people have the same problem?
1. Permisisons.
Every time I restart my phone I have to do all the permissions for any app I have again before I can open them.
For example camera. Before it opens for the first time I get greeted by "Allow camera to access the device's location.
2. Locations.
In the past ( read on my m9) I would see what apps are using my location ( for example wechat). I dont have that with my 10 anymore? As a result I can not add people on wechat , even when they sit next to me, they can not see me in people nearby.
Does anybody else have these problems? I would not like to send my phone back to HTC Hong Kong as I live in mainland China.

i am not sure about the location.
when you give permission are you checking the box which it states don't ask? or tried to give permissions from settings apps and see if it asks again upon reboot.
if not try that

thats a good one, I actually never saw the option dont ask. I just always allow them in the pop up before I can actually use the app. I will restart my phone. give me a second

Just have it again. The pop up does not have the " ask again upon reboot". Where could I find that in settings?

okay try this--- settings - app - and tap on each app which asks for permissions(htcamera for instance) -then permissions- give permissions from there

Hey so sorry for the late reply, I just stopped restarting the phone but directly switching it off. Its annoying af. I still have locational problems with wechat where I can not send a friend request. No more htc for me.

Suspicious Activity - Huawei Mate 20 X

Hi,
I have noticed suspicious activity on my google account which shows the device is being used in somewhere in Europe. I changed my password and did a factory wipe on the phone but I still see same behavior on this device being simultaneously being used in Canada and Europe.
Has anyone noticed such behavior from the device and what's your advice on to fix/track the issue?

Google > Security > Recently used devices - Shows me location and time of the device used last

No problems with mine but I do have two step verification enabled with google - not known if that makes any difference.
I also have the two step verification enabled and didn't get notified by google that my phone was being used in Europe as the same time it was being used in Canada.
I did change my google account passwords but still the same issue.
Post which retailers you got them from if you are having this issue. There may be a common theme ....

Mine was also from Splendor, but I have checked my google connected devices and where they are connected from and have 2 step verification on. My phone is not mysteriously connected elsewhere. I would start looking at 3rd party apps that you guys might have installed.

I have 2nd step verification enabled as well and removed all 3rd party application which can access my Google account. I haven't noticed anything suspicious recently but will continue to monitor.

wipe the phone mught not be enough, if somehow the seller unlocked, flashed it, and lock the bootloader, the only way to get it clean is doing the same thing: unlocking bootloader and flashing the factory image. that's what i would do, and that's what i always end up doing to root the phone
