Windows 8.1 Driver and phone not recognized - HTC One X

I am running SlimRom 8.8.x
HTC Sync Manager (3.1.24.5) and HTC Driver Installer (4.13.0.003) are installed
When I plug in my phone, Device manager shows Android Phone with the sign that the driver is not installed.
What is going wrong here?

HTC one vx fastboot trouble

Hey guys, I have an HTC one vx. After searching for about a week about my problem, I am posting on here.
I have been trying to root so I can get the tethering app, and custom roms, etc. When I attempt to connect any computer in my house (windows 8,7) to my in fastboot mode HTC, windows pop up saying... The USB device that you have connected has malfunctioned. It shows up in device manager with a yellow arrow over it. I've tried installing HTC sync, uninstalling that, installing pdanet drivers, updating in device manager, manually updating in device manager from android SDK and pdanet directories, tried usbdevview, tried switching cables, USB ports, everything. Any suggestions? I'm at a loss of what to do. Adb works when booted up though. Most annoying problem ever.
Boot into windows 7 uninstall htc manager and it will ask "want to remove all drivers with it" or something like that, click yes then from there install latest HTC manager from HTC site, once installed plug in Phone and HTC manager should give proper drivers

[Q] Device not recognized by Windows 8.1

Hi!
I have a very annoying problem. My HTC M8 is not recognized by my new Windows 8.1 Professional System.
If I connect the phone to my PC Windows plays the "new device" sound but nothing more happens. Neither in normal MTP-Mode nor in the USB debugging mode. I checked out the Windows device manager but the phone is not listed.
First I thought that it might be a problem with the Android Revolution HD 7.0 ROM, but the phone works on my notebook (Windows 7) without installing any special drivers. And my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus works with Windows 8.1.
I installed the HTC Sync Manager... didn't help.
I installed the HTC Driver package... didn't help.
I installed the Universal ADB Driver... didn't help either.
Then I tried different USB ports.. nothing

I had the same issue and I believe it's because the Samsung Gnex drivers are still on your computer. Use Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit to completely uninstall all drivers related to the Gnex, restart, and then plugin the M8. Windows will most likely install all the necessary drivers automatically.
No, it's still not working. I removed ALL Samsung and HTC driver (with uninstaller and USBDeview), restarted my PC and plugged in my HTC. Windows plays the sound and USBDeview shows three new HTC devices with the assigned drive letters F: and L:. But the drives are not assigned and ADB cannot find the M8.
Ok, now it's getting strange.
I reinstalled the HTC driver again from the hasoon2000 website. And now, my M8 appears
under the available storage devices. But only when I disable the USB debugging! If debugging is enabled still nothing happens! :crying:
As a last try I have installed the "Universal ADB driver" again... didn't change anything.
I really don't know what's going wrong.
The M8 works on my Win7 notebook, my Win7 PC at work and it worked well on my develop PC (in a peaceful coexistence with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus), before I installed Windows8.1 (fresh install, no upgrade!) :crying:

[Q] Unknown Device during cyanogenmod installer after recovery.

Hi
Sprint S3
I've tried all versions of drivers in Zadig
I start the cyanogen mod installer
It recognizes the phone correctly
it changes the phones state to the same as the zadig downloader state
windows updates it drivers no issues in device manager
cyanogen installer states it is installing recovery
At some point the cyanogen mod installer changes the phones state and windows says new device found sph-l710
but it does not have the drivers for that device
this is where I am having a problem.
if i choose to install drivers automatically the system recognizes the device as "google galaxy nexus adb interface" and
wants the disc labeled "android winusb installation disk"
OK so i download the android windows usb labeled from google as "latest_usb_driver_windows" but nothing in there will work.
thoughts? I feel like if i can get past this sph-l710 missing driver issue I will be golden.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
OK someone can delete this if they want or leave it if someone has a similar issue.
I resolved this by telling windows to not search on line, let me choose, browsing to the adb x86 driver directory choosing the dll and installing the dll whiel the system was in that unknown state. It will not work if you just have the windows driver installer search for the driver because it looks for an INF.

Windows 10 HTC one M8 usb connection

Hi everyone,
I'm new and searching for help to connect my new HTC one M8 to my PC(OS Windows 10, installed not updated) via USB.
After installing the HTC Sync Manager with its drivers windows won't recognize my device but after updating the driver the error becomes:
Windows found driver software for your device bbut encountered an error while attempting to install it
HTC MTP Device
An error eccurred during the installation of the device:
The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later.
I have tried all of the solution over the internet:
-reinstall htc sync (after uninstalling all the drivers, obviously)
-copy usbstor.inf and .pnf file from a pc that recognizes my phone
A thing I observed was that when I enabled the USB debugging mode HTC Sync runs, so the phone is recognized, but the driver can not be installed.
I have tried the phone connection to another PCs and OSs: another Windows 10 and Ubuntu and it works, the problem is my os...
