Please help me! Phone wont boot up and restoring in twrp fails - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was trying to install viper4android and it got out of hand. i decided to factory reset then restore a backup i had made earlier, when i try to do this it says it failed and then It asks me if i want to install supersu but i already have it installed so i put no. Also when i try to reboot it says Set Warranty Bit: kernel on the top right. What can i do? everytime i try to reboot it gets stuck there. Also on a possibly unrelated note the backup was compressed when i made it, do i need to decompress the file?

This will work. Download the stock tar from: http://www.shabbypenguin.com/getdownload.php?file=Sprint_Note_4-trltespr/Stock-NIE/N910PVPU1ANIE_N910PSPT1ANIE_SPR.zip
Get into download mode and use odin. You will be fine.

Thanks guys, this is my first Samsung phone it is very different from htc phones. So once the file is done downloading do i put the file in the AP slot and flash via odin?

Also will i need root again?

Should be good to go. Just put in download mode (as looneytunes said earlier), connect device as well as inserting tar file in correct slot. Should work just fine. Please post back with results. Just want to make sure your good.

It's kinda really hard to permanently brick these phones. As long as you can get to download mode you can usually get back with odin.

[Q] Updating the Modem

Just a quick question.
I'm gonna update my modem to EB13 from EC05 via Odin, but I just want to make sure what I'm doing is right.
All I do is open odin, put the EB13_modem_update.zip in the Phone slot, put the phone in download mode, and click start right?
Heres a picture (the phones not plugged in yet)
Someone please respond.
That's correct if it's the right file. I can't see it, in a bar. Looks good though

Here... I uploaded the EB13 modem for you... download it from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20210101/EB13_modem.tar
Just stick that in the pda slot, check it, and only have auto reboot checked and you'll be good to go. Make sure your phone is in download mode.

When I did this, I had to ODIN the stock .tar file back on to fix it. I could still get into download mode, but not CWM
Go here and get ODIN(if you don't already have it)

It is worth the trouble if...
A. You know what you are doing.
B. You read and research.
C. You know how to recover in the event something goes wrong.
Flashing isn't for everyone. Even if you follow directions things can still go wrong in rare situations. That's just the nature of flashing.

[Q] Can't root after updating to Jellybean

You do have odin 307+ and updated S3 drivers?
If you have another data, could try that.
You could try different usb port.
I always reboot computer befor i flash.
i really hope that helps you
Just follow the root guide for our phones in the stickies.... Why a Roger rom?

I would suggest to try the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Also, make sure you are using the usb cable that came with the phone, as it has an 11 pin connector instead of the 5 pin. Hope this helps.

[Q][Need Help] Phone Won't Boot Past Splash Screen

So I was running Slimbean 6.2 weekly with ktoonez 6.8 kernel and decided to go into recovery (CWM Touch 6.0.3) to fix permissions and clear cache since I was having some battery drain issues. After I hit fix permissions it started to do so and then all of a sudden my phone rebooted and gets stuck at the splash screen. Went back into recovery to try and fix permissions again same thing happens. Tried clearing cache and doing a normal reboot still stuck at splash screen. I tried doing a factory reset but it keeps rebooting right when it gets to formatting data. So essentially I can do anything aside from format data so I am guessing there's some corrupt file there that's keeping me from formatting it. I've tried installing different ROM's that I have on my SD card but they always get stuck at the splash screen. Doing a restore doesn't work as once it gets to restoring data the phone reboots. I checked report error or something along those lines in CWM Advanced and it said can't format /emmc which I'm not sure what that means.
I've looked around but haven't been able to find any information on how to fix this. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Ok go into CWM wipe cache, wipe dalvik and do factory reset. Then flash any rom which you have on your phone storage. Does this work?

Even better, download one of the Odin 1-clicks. Connect your phone, open the 1-click and stand back while it does its magic.

Need Stock Rom

I had a backup of stock before root but when i tried to back up to it today it gave me a md5 mismatch so i couldnt back up to it. From what I seen in beaups thread that I need to be on a stock rom and stock kernal for his s-off method to work. Is there a stock rom that I could flash to use the s-off method?
I'd like this answered as well. I think andy's stock rom near the bottom of the page works, but I haven't had a confirmation yet. Also wondering if odex versus deodexed versions matter.
Same boat im in just waiting for somebody to say which one we can use when we are already rooted and unlocked. I dont know how my md5's mismatched on my stock before root backup but I can't go back to it so Im kinda stuck here until we get a answer.

SUPER MEGA ULTIMATE DISCLAIMER: IIRC = IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS DOESN'T WORK/SCREWS UP YOUR DEVICE/BRICKS/ETC. YOU ARE WARNED. THIS WORKED FOR ME IN THE PAST WITH MY GALAXY NEXUS BACKUPS USING CWMTOUCH 6.0.3.6 AND 6.0.4.3.

IIRC: If you have an md5 mismatch while trying to restore in a recovery, try this process:
IF YOU HAVE A BACKUP I HIGHLY SUGGEST STORING THE BACKUP FILE ON YOUR DESKTOP JUST IN CASE!!!!
Boot into whatever ROM you're on ATM.
Browse to your ClockworkMod (or TWRP backup must have an accessible folder for it's backups) using a Root file explorer, which I happen to use "Root Explorer" and open the backup file you just made.
Inside of that will be a nandroid.md5.
Delete that file and reboot into recovery, and try restoring again.

Ok i found it it was under /data/media/clockworkmod/backup but i dont see any files inside of that that are a md5 file im going to look in the data.ext4.tar file and the system.ext4.tar.a. Does any of those ring a bell? i see the boot.img, data.ext4.tar.a, recovery.img, system.ext4.tar.a, and system.ext4.tar.b. Thats all the files inside the backup i made before i rooted.
