Fix for Redmi 1S lagging and performance drop after v45 update - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Hey friends
i have seen that everyone is complaining that their Redmi 1S starts lagging and performance is worse after updating to v45.
so today i am here with very simple fix for this problem
NOTE : Rooted Redmi 1S is required
Now after rooting Redmi 1s
After rooting download and install root explorer on your redmi 1s
now go to /etc/thermal-engine-8226.conf and delete the lines marked with red.

apply this fix and your lagging problem will be fully solved and your performance will also come back as before
NOTE: this will only solve lagging problem after v45 upddate but it will not solve heating problem.
To solve heating problem you should download NO FRILLS CPU app and use it to downclock you cpu to 1.3 Ghz . It will reduce heating problem.

still love my rom 43 global with tweaks

[Q]
What this fix actually does?I can tell when my redmi 1s gets hotter the phone underclock itself to a max frequecy of 998400 mHz and starts lagging.I'm affraid that if this removes this cpu control when it gets too hot,the cpu will broke in time.More details?

Review :
On light use , with underclock to 1.2 ghz.....cpu does not go above 50°C and very little throttling with MP Decision On .......a lil heavier use still gets cpu quite hot

Why are u using these instructions follow the link mentioned above in the reply by @Manjal
BTW deleting the thermal file is the best solution, I have found because it doesn't interfere with my clock values irrespective of the temperature.

V47 is also available now. . does it lags too?

Does this work??
how safe i to use that
Awesome. Need to be careful though.
Anyone tested?? we may have something big here!!! (if its working..!!)
Max values..?? Performance improvements?? Some benchmarks?
Because after some research i did , i saw that our processor is capable even for speeds almost double its original value!! (some say 850 and report fast and stable!!)
Lets see!!
What the hell?
800MHZ on the HD?
thats crazy!
Yeah it works
you need to install the cab and soft reset
after in All settings > System
a new icon appear : processor
set it there .
you can't overclock speed actually with this tool
but, you can slow down a lot the cpu to save a lot's of battery during idle process.
Does anyone know what these value are by default? We could actually make battery life worse if we set higher values for backlight off, etc than the factory settings...
It is not working. I try it again and again.
Set all values to 256.00 and it loose this settings after exit or if the device go to sleep.
Under "Current processor speed:" it shows 256.00 and if I go again to this setting it shows the "normal" 528mhz.

Don't tell me the Touch HD actually doesn't manage it's CPU speed on its own!?!? Even my old Axim x51v did that!!!
there is another thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507212
I ' have try this :
Default :528mhz
After 5s 256mhz (this doesn't work I think, but not sure)
When backlight off : 82mhz
When suspend : 19mhz
So after all night of sleeping, my battery haven't lose any bare.
I will test it more, I think they greatly improve battery life.
so just keep testing.

Qualcomm is not Intel-Marvel !
I tested the tool from April 21th to April 25th. 5 days without recharge!
Otherwise i was charging my Blackstone every two days and i've running ICQ in backround around the clock. So i'm online once i turn on my telephone. It works perfect for me!
Setup:
idle after 5000ms: 384 MHz
on backlight of: 122.88 MHz
on suspend: 122.88 MHz
Sorry for my bad english
hi, first of all, thank yu for sharing.
second: Ihave put the exe file on my HD and run it from my phone but it keeps saying:
"your phone is preventing installation, we can try to automatically fix this, but we need to restart your device. continue?"
and when I cic yes, it restarts and nothing happens. so I run the programm again, and get the same message.
anyone have any idea wha the problem might be?
thank you in advance
Installed v1.2 and changed profile to "Power saving", but the cpu clock is still at 528MHz?
For me resulted in more battery drain (version 1. BTW 1.2 doesn't work)
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3692764&postcount=77
@jouh:
Click on "File" -> "Reset Active Profile". The value of "Active Profile" should change from "Default" to yours and you can see the de-/increasing CPU speed now.

Can you tell us, where did you read about this overclocking to 850 MHz. I would like to learn more about it. Like others say, this program cannot overclock but only underclock.Please give us some links. Thanks
Version 1.2 results excessive battery drain to me too (8-12% per hour, in suspend mode).

[HELP]4 active CPUs

i notice recently that my phone battery is draining really quick,
even when i dont use it at all,
i've been studying this morning and havent needed to use the phone at all
but during my lunch break i went into the play store through my pc and installed a game, i turned the screen on and off(literately on and off) and went off to have lunch,
i looked at my phone after lunch to have the battery drained by 15%
i can also feel its warm
so i turned on tergastats to show that all my cpus are active with clock freq of 1.2Mhz
is there a way i can find which app is draining the life out of my battery??
a restart fixed the problem... but only because I caught it
ROM: ARHD 6.0
Kernel: franco-r9

BetterBatteryStats.
It's a paid app but well-deserved. Look here for more comments.
Ironically, this is the third time today I mentioned this app's name. Maybe I am already a winner of some prize, who knows

use corecontrol of meltus if you do not want all cores active. there is a bug if you reboot it will revert back to having all four cores active but if you just change it without rebooting it should work fine. using it now on my phone and no problems at all..hope that helps

Could you try the cpu temp notification, just turn it on and off like 10 times and tell me if you get any FC or if its not showing.
Thanks

A lot of bug fix. Fixed governor settings not applying, added a check box to set governor at boot, fixed clear cache for ROMs that doesn't support it, fixed crash for CPU temp notification, fixed loop when device can't reboot, clear cache, etc. Added GSF id and System id info, (Will just show it to you).

I think you have a minor typo in OP 'turn off CPU 2' should be 'turn off CPU 1' as cores are CPU 0, CPU 1 (duel core) then CPU 2 and CPU 3 (for quad core device)

Yes I know that, but for not developers people seeing a number 1 is like the first CPU will be off. Since you normally start counting with the number 1. I did name it number 1 in one of the tests and I received a lot of e-mails asking me if its safe to turn off the first CPU and why I'm not doing it with the second CPU. So I decided to change the number so that way people wont get confused.
So basically you are right, but I did it on purpose.

[Q] One X overheating and not going into low cpu speed - Trickster MOD

Hi there!
I have 2 HTC One X, one of them is overheating in normal use and the other, with exactly the same use, is not.
I mean normal use by 10 minutes on facebook, 5 min on e-mail program, 5 min on internet browser.
Both have the same stock ROM version with Android 4.1.1, HTC Sense 4+, Software Number: 3.14.707.24.
During the tests they were not charging, almost same battery level and same installed and running apps. Also were purchased the same day in the same store. The only things that actually changes are the accounts, contacts and other personal data.
After use I have checked on Trickster MOD app to compare the temperature. And the Hot One X was really hotter, as expected:
- Hot One X:
Battery temperature: 42ºC Health: Good
CPU temperature: 52ºC
- Other One X:
Battery temperature: 35ºC Health: Good
CPU temperature: 39ºC
But, besides that, I saw something odd on the "Hot One X", it was not going into low cpu speeds.
Trickster MOD says:
Not Used States
51 MHz, 102MHz, 204Mhz
This explains why is getting hotter.
Also this is only happening on the "Hot One X", on the "Other One X" the Not Used States list is empty.
Here is a screen shot of the Hot One X:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Also, comparing to the "Other One X", the 340Mhz cpu speed is much less used on "Hot One X", what means it uses more higher speeds. There was no lags on neither phone.
So my question is:
Is there any way to make it use also the low speeds? I mean, is there any configuration for this?
I think that maybe there is some way to enable/disables cpu speeds, or make a profile: uses more that, less that.
If that is true, how to do it?
Thanks
anyone have any ideas?
Anyone facing the same issue? Install trickster MOD free from Play Store and check your One X

Both using "ondemand", but I tried "conservative" too and the same issue. Also I tried "powersave", but both devices became so so lag that I couldn't even open any other app (about 5 seconds to scroll down a page) so I selected "ondemand" again.
The overheat was happening on the Hot One X since the Jelly Bean update, even before Root Unlock and Trickster MOD. The Trickster MOD just helped me to guess what was happening.
tried factory reset already?
Reflashing rom and kernel might help
Or a simple RESTART might help too.

Yes, I've tried factory reset 2 times with Jelly Bean.
Haven't tried to reflash the rom, I'd like to use the original rom Jelly Bean or ICS, is that possible?
Isn't there any configuration for enable/disable cpu speeds?
Restarted several times using: turn off / turn on, restart from menu, turn off / hold power button for 20 sec. (slow startup), disable fast boot and restart.
Thanks
Any more ideas?
maybe you had mods installed on the other one? i had this before the cpu wont go down 1.5hz and then it over heats
Sorry, what mods do you say?
By the way, both devices were hard reseted and were installed exactly the same apps.
Isn't there any way to enable/disable cpu speeds? I guess it should be that somehow, maybe failure applying htc rom update.

It's a stock Jelly Bean rom, original, never flashed any other ROM. It's rooted right now, but the issues appeared before root.
Maybe u can try to flash new kernel or better yet flash stock rom again see if it still like that.
