Cannot install CM11 no matter what - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I am getting DESPERATE here. Because of a mistake, I had to reflash stock LG ROM 50020d 4.4.2. From there, I rooted using geohot's towelroot and used Flashify to flash this TWRP 2.8.0.0 After 128754E10th attempt, it worked. I experienced all kinds of recovery loops when I used files for 4.2.2 base (because someone mentioned it's needed to prevent brightness issue) but it caused my recovery to go into some strange loop. So I reflashed the recovery.
Now I can enter TWRP 2.8.0.0 but I cannot, cannot, cannot flash yesterday's CM11 nightly for my device. When I try, log says:
Code:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/cm-11-20141101-NIGHTLY-v500.zip'
Error flashing zip /sdcard/cm-11-20141101-NIGHTLY-v500.zip
Updating partition details
I am truly desperate. I even fixed the name of my device in build.prop to v500 (before it was 'awifi' for some reason) but still no dice.
Please, is there someone to give me some clear instructions? Thanks a lot guys.

Have you tried with another build of CM11? Perhaps the latest milestone? Have you wipe:d all the data and cache and stuff? Can you tell me how you got the TWRP on there? Did it work the first time you flashed the 4.4.2 version? Where you on the latest version of android before rooting?

Thanks for your effor, djmiek.
I managed to fix it yesterday. Nothing was out of ordinary - TWRP 2.8.0.0 (specifically for v500) was flashed using Flashify. Phone was rooted (see my original post) and I wiped everything properly before flashing CM11. However, for some reason there was no way to install nightly from 11/1. Everytime I tried to install, I got aforementioned error message.
So I got fed up with all that and just went and restored my whole tablet to a backup from april (50010b) which I very wisely did just after rooting the brand new device. This reverted TWRP to 2.6.3.2 and as soon as I booted recovery I could install that nightly without any hassle. No incompatible data, no bull like that - everything went smoothly. I don't know if there's a problem with TWRP 2.8.0.0 and current CM11 nightly combo but I sure as hell will stay away from it.
So, the moral of the story - BACKUP any working installation folks! Do not underestimate the power of word "restore". It feels goooood

Is 50010b also 4.4.2 or is it earlier? Did you just flash TWRP with flashify then after rooting?

I think it was 4.4.2.
My initial root after purchase was done according to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05T3mYVnYYE
Everything went smoothly then, but I think you'd achieve the same outcome using Flashify.

[Q] Status 7 error while installing CM11

So here's the story
I installed CM11 about a month ago but then decided to revert back to stock, but then again due to short battery life decided to go back to cyanogenmod.
However when I try to install cyanogenmod (even the exact same version as before) on various recoveries (including CMW and Philz) I get the status 7 error. I've already tried to change the code in the updater-script and updating the recovery image, but nothing seems to work. Though I have succeeded in installing a SlimKat rom this rom doesn't support my provider or something.
Any idea on what I should do next?
Please help me out people, I'm kinda desperate right now :/

A sidenote
when I use the latest version of CWM and install cm11 it installs perfectly fine, but when booted up the boot animation just goes on for hours and it won't let me get into the rom

Help Needed With Flashing After Bootloop

I recently flashed CM12.1 on my S3. I was running rooted stockmod 4.3. Everthing went fine. I made a nandroid first. I was able to flash back to with my nandroid and then back to a nandroid of CM12. I tried to flash back again and booted into Touchwiz ROM with no Google services and most of many (too) many apps gone. I then tried to flash back to my CM12 Lollipop nandroid in recovery and got stuck in a bootloop. I could not get past the the Teamwin screen.
Even though my USB port is dicey I was able to use ODIN on my pc to flash back to stockmod_root 66. I then installed TWRP using TWRP manager on device. This went fine.
I then tried to flash back to CM12 in recovery using my nanback but the phone reboots after a few seconds with any task, even just wiping partitions. I am also now getting an error message after trying to load the same stockmod I used successfully earlier. The message is in Chinese so I have no idea what it says.
Any hope here?
Edit: I managed to load the stock image in ODIN and it is flashing now. Still do not understand what did wrong so as not to be able to restore my nan back of CM12. Was there a problem with my installation of TWRP with TWRP manager?
Thanks

CM12.1 - TWRP problem

Hey guys, i have installed CM 12.1 on my LG G3 D855.
Everything seems to work fine and correct.
Only one problem is left, i made a factory reset (in settings), the phone rebooted. It rebooted in Recovery (TWRP) but there it stuck in a boot loop. I removed the batterie and and restarted the device. Now it boots correct, but i think my TWRP is still broken. Is there a way to fix it?
Can i simply use e.g. Flashify app to install TWRP correct again?
Don't ever perform a factory reset or take an OTA update w/ a third party recovery like TWRP installed. You're lucky you were able to get the phone to boot normally. There's probably nothing wrong w/ TWRP, but yes... you can use Flashify again to re-flash recovery.
Okay, i thought it will only reset the CM - specific settings and not the LG ones.
Can i use "OTA"-CM Updates? As i am using the Nighties and there is an Update everyday - or should i just update once a week?
Could there be a problem with my "broken CR?
As you have said I can use Flashify for flash TWRP again, can i use the normal files which are made for stock, or do i have any special CM ones?
Thanks.

Unable to Install TWRP Recovery

Hello everyone, I have LG G3 D851 T-Mobile.
I was on 5.0.1 and wanted to install custom ROM and for this I needed to install custom recovery first so I used Flashify to install TWRP (twrp-3.1.0-0-d851.img) , installation works fine it says installation complete, but when I restart the phone it starts bootloop.
So I restored my phone back to stock (4.4.2), rooted and again repeat flashify process this time again the same issue of bootloop.
Can Anyone here help me in this matter.
Thanks
Ha ha ha. If you had searched/looked here on xda you would know twrp 3.1 does not work only bootloops. Also twrp 3.0.2 is no good either. You should use the unofficial builds. Also a restore is not needed just pull battery for a minute and then it will boot back to the installed rom.

[AOSiP, Android 9] Not booting after OTA on encrypted device

I hope that someone here can help me rescue to rescue my data.
I was on the AOSiP build from september and than decided to encrypt my device. That worked perfectly. Now I wanted to install the latest update. The internal updater didn't work (just booted into TWRP recovery without further action, so I moved the update file to microsd and than updated manually by flashing the zip file via TWRP). Prior to the whole action, I updated TWRP through the app to the latest version.
Now my phone doesn't boot anymore, it is stuck in the AOSiP boot animation. Reverting to a previous TWRP version (3.2.3.2) didn't help, also flashing the september build again didn't help.
In TWRP I was unable to decrypt data, because TWRP keeps asking me for a password (but I don't remember putting a password in the first place). Therefor I switched from TWRP to OrangeFox recovery. Here decryption worked, put still after flashing the phone doesn't boot.
Anyone that has further ideas how to fix this without loosing all my data? Any help appreciated!
Have you tried installing another kernel?

No, but as my system was running before without problems I don't expect the kernel to be the problem .. Or why would that make sense?
SOLVED: I noticed that flashing the update manually didn't automatically flash Gapps right afterwards. So flashing the Gapps helped and the phone now boots normally!
