Hellow everybody,
I am also using this phone (HTC Desire 616) since last 2 weeks. I also experienced the same problem which salahuddin85 faced. Once I removed my phone from the computer data cable it can not read the SD card. I also tried to reboot the phone and again inserted the SD card but the problem remains same. Please suggest any solution for the same.

Hi everyone,
I found a solution for this problem. If you eject removable disk from the corner of taskbar and disconnect from mobile usb storage option before diconnect the data cable from computer, the mobile automatically restore the storage device again. Check it

Memory card not detected anymore

Simply put, the card was working just fine earlier today, and now it's not detected anymore. Tried removing the card, rebooting the phone, no results. Using kavana's 6.1 rom, memory card is a 4 GB kingston that I've had for a while. Tried a friend's 2GB card, and it didn't detect it either. My card didn't get detected in his phone due to firmware issues.
Any clues or ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Do you have an external memory card reader? Try reading your card on your pc (or mac) with that. Your memory card may be damaged. I had a similar problem 2 days ago and the card was damaged.

And just as an addition try a format to fat32. "i know 2 x cards not worked but worth a try"
Formatted the card, still sees it randomly (also, it had stopped seeing the contents of my card a couple of days ago. Had to format it, but problems still continue). As I said at the beginning of the thread, when I first encountered the issue I tried a friend's card, but it didn't detect it either.
A while ago I upgraded to WM 6.5 (again) and for a while everything went back to normal. Now it's not working again. Also tried a third card (yet another 2GB card) but it detected it randomly. Could there be an issue with the microSD controller in my phone? Or the reader itself?
Storage card go missing - Samsung sgh i780
It happens to me too. I use a Samsung i780 with a 2GB. The card goes missing randomly. I got the phone changed to a new one, changed the card to 8GB, yet both with 6.1 windows but problem is same.
Please help !! is this a windows bug ?

Try a diffrent sdcard and see if your phone will mount it.
Try reinstalling the rom.

Hello I experienced exactly the same thing last night and the phone got hot. I tried everything you had tried and still no luck then I basically flicked the card in and out quickly about 7-8 times with the phone off rebooted and this has solved it for the last 12 hours. I'm using an unbranded 8gb card I suspect the problem lays there from what I have read. Good Luck Keep us posted on how you get on

When a phone is getting hot, this is usually a motherboard problem (which becomes very popular here). Please post the sources from which you get this overheating problem is caused by your sd card. If I were you, I would use my warranty (in case you still have one).

[Q] not detecting sd card

Hello guys!
Today i was going to mount my 8gb sd card, class 2 (which came in a SE vivaz) in my htc desire. The problem is that my Desire doesn´t detect the sd card. I don´t get the options, formate card etc in the settings. And when I plug it in the computer it doesn´t detect it anymore. It just stopped working. No I didn´t formate it before I tried it, in case you wonder.
I also tried it in a samsung sgh-900. It detects it and says the formate of the sd card cannot be read please formate the card, then yes or no. I press yes but then then a window with "error" pops up.
What could the problem be?
Regards
Kristian
If no device can read it, then I think sadly your card has died mate.

[Q] HTC Desire HD Cannot Mount SD CARD

Yo Bro,
Need your help. So just yesterday night i downloaded a music from an apps.
all of sudden the memory card just removed ( in-terms of unmounted itself) where i didn't physically remove it by myself.
I experienced this problem before and found a solution to recover but i just cant find that link back
So , I was hoping you guys could help me out a little hope for me to recover them.
The SD Card run as 8gb itself.
Things i've tried;
1)Factory Reset
2)Physically remove the sd card by myself and insert back in
3)Restarted the smartphone right after the problem occur
4)Reset my battery
5)Trying to get into my PC by using Disk Drive mode but doesn't shown at HTC screen.
From what i think;
I dont think my memory card have any problem so far or maybe memory full because of it ?
btw , will 16GB memory card compatible with HTC Desire HD ?

1.Try wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery. Sometime my old DHD sdcard have same problem.
2. Yes, 16GB memory card compatible with DHD. My sdcard is Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 GB. And it run perfect.:fingers-crossed:
Hey guys.
I have an issue with the SD card as well. Actually, the phone doesn't detect SDcard at all, even in recovery.
I've tried mounting USB storage in 4ext, can't do that, can't partition it, format it, anything. The SD card works ok in card reader and camera, so I guess it's an issue in the phone?
This happened after I opened my phone to clean it out. It isn't the first time I'm doing this, but nothing ever went wrong.
It's confusing to me, because I didn't even touch anything around the SD card slot, just removed the back panel, cleaned the upper part of the phone where the speaker is and that's it, I didn't even take the entire motherboard out, no need for that.
Does anyone have any clue how could I fix this?
To be sure, check in memory card reader.
SD-cards don't have unlimited lifetime, but this is too soon tho.
