DRM keys? Not sure if should unlock bootloader - Sony Smartwatch 3

Hi All.
looking into tinkering with my SW3 (pushed towelroot just to check it ~ no luck as expected)

So Iooks like I need to fastboot oem unlock before I'll be able to root (if I can actually root it) ~ does anyone know if there is a ta partition with drm keys like the Z phones? Would hate to lose these forever due to being too keen to "play" with my new toy.
(my end game is to get tasker with su access on watch btw..)
thanks in advance [emoji3]

I was unaware of Sony DRM games (spoiled by the nexus devices I guess). So I unlocked and got bootloop, looks like manual format cache and user data required. Anyway I then repaired using PC companion as described in my post here.

^^ thx, it is the "trackid" sony app on the watch that has me spooked (that app doesn't work on Z3 if drm keys are wiped during bootloader unlock, worried same on sw3)

Sim lock info

Can anyone guide me on the information and what it stands for in the pic below. I tried unlocking my bootloader but was unable via setool and I received error 144 so im not sure if its because their server is offline or if its because of something else. Though I have plenty of credits. Every other phoned unlocked fine today, well the semc ones eg w995 etc.

I have the exact same info in my phone. I would like to know the answer to what the network 5 means as well. I imagine will work on 5 networks or is locked to 5 networks, god knows.
The "X" Means your handset is Sim locked, will only work with the carrier/network it was purchased from, and afaik the 5 is the ammount of times you have left to enter the unlock code.
Thats weird because though my phone is o2 locked ive used a 3 sim in my phone. However what does the rest of it mean? I.e. The 0's and corporate etc

How are people unlocking their One X?

I'm confused. If the One X has a locked bootloader how are people unlocking it and putting a custom ROM on it?
Go to htcdev website and follow the steps to unlock your bootloader, be warned though as unlocking it may void your warranty

I unlocked mine through HTCdev, then I used this to do it automatically for me, great tool and worked flawlessly, but you might have to check whether it is compatible with your phone to.
this helps with installing recovery=CWM

If I am allowed to, you will have to get permission from a mod and also have them allow me here, via a message, on this post, I will give you a link to the fastboot flasher. I keep a backup of all software I get.
Or alternatively you can go here:

Unlocking
Easy tool I found was the Htc All in One Kit managed to unlocked my phone in less than 10 mins (also works for other Htc phones).

Is my xperia bricked?

The dreaded question from a noob I'm afraid, but a little help will be appreciated. I believe I have a bricked Sony xperia play. The phone was rooted when bought. I have tried to install the latest update on my xperia play with PC companion but the phone does not stay on long enough for my laptop to recognise the mobile. I have never flashed my phone to run a custom ROM before and I have no idea if the bootloader is unlocked but have read up a little about it. I have tried registering with Emma to flash the device but have never received a confirmation email from them to put it into practice. Any other ideas would be welcome. The phone itself loads up with the Sony logo and the phone cuts out after 2 seconds and goes into a loop. I have tried a factory reset too. Does the 1980 2 22 mean anything in the photo?

The 1980 2 22 doesnt mean anything. You just have to set the right date. And if your device boots, the everything is normal

You've answered it by yourself. Do your own research for rooting, it's easy if you follow literally steps by steps
Funny that this root method was published 8 months before the phone even came out.

Will people STOP posting/asking/inquiring about a one-click root method? Unless it's released on HERE (which the devs said they aren't going to do) then STOP worrying about it.

[solved]HTC not searching for updates

Hello everyone I sent my HTC 10 for repairation because of the pink screen and a bleeding in the lower part of the screen which not only they didn't repair but they also corrupted the OS, after recovering everything I tried to update but it has an error of some sort saying that the system may be broken.
I wanted to update to this new 1.80.401.1 version but can't. Currently on 1.30.401.1
Thanks

Flash the 1.80 RUU
Do I need to unlock the bootloader? I didn't want to modify the system...
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
no need to unlock
I tried to manually install the OTA so my data wouldn't be lost, but I got an error that said the system has to be reflashed so it can receive OTAs again, it was something about the system being R/W...
I don't understand how HTC support in Portugal does something like this. I wouldn't mind if they repaired my screen, but adding even more problems is something that simply cannot be.I reported it to HTC, something has to be done.
Later I'll flash the RUU...it's downloading...
Problem solved flashed the ruu
