Bootloop after accidental re-enabling Init.d - Sony Xperia M

Hello,
At first, sorry for my English, because I'm from Poland.
I have a problem: some time ago I've swapped the memory by rooting, installing Busybox, enabling Init.d and adding swap script to system/etc/init.d. Today, the swap unexpectedly stopped working. I've entered the Universal Init.d app to verify that Init.d is enabled. Unfortunately, I've accidentally clicked the Install option and restarted the phone. After that, my phone went in a bootloop.
Question is: how to unbrick phone, preferably without data loss? I have few important contacts on phone memory and I don't want to lose it.
My phone is Sony Xperia M C1905 with Android 4.3 (15.4.A.0.23) and Locked bootloader.
Please help.

may be you can use flashtool to the stock firmware , and you can download the stock firmware here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaetNHNXUGZXQkFIUTg/edit?usp=sharing, after that install the flashtool, and install the flashtool to that was place it i directory of flashtool installation folder that called flashtool-driver.exe, you can install driver that you need it, after that copy the ftf file that have you download it before and copy to flashtool installation folder in the firmware folder, after that open the flashtool select the thundfer/flash and select the ftf file and uncheck the data to avoid wipe data after flash it, so you don;t have to loose all of your contact , after that hit flash and wait for a while second until the flashtool prepare for flash it and if ready turn off your device and hold the vol down and connect your xperia m to pc, after that only wait until the flash process is completed, after completed turn on your phone and disconnect from pc and wait for a while minute untill your phone is boot up correctly ok, don't worry your data is not wipe ok:good:

OK, flashing now.
I'm a advanced Android user and I know about Flashtool, but before you posted I didn't know about flashing without data loss, that's why I wrote this thread.
EDIT: Thanks, that saved my phone!

[Q] Possible Bricked R800i

I very recently asked for help installing CM7 onto my phone. While following a fairly simple tutorial linked to me by the author something hasn't worked and I've been left with a brick. I managed to fastboot the boot.img then when rebooting I was asked to "spam" the volume button repeatedly until it entered another mode. It did not do this. Instead it simply left me with a blank screen. No Sony Ericsson logo and no booting into another mode as the tutorial described. Someone in the thread had the same issue and basically the author just washed his hands of it and asked that guy to make a thread. I did look at the troubled users profile for said thread but for some reason this forum is saying the search is down, so hopefully someone can help me at least get my phone working. I'm done with the rooting/romming shenanigans. If there is a way to just get my phone up and running then hopefully someone can tell me. Until then it's just a brick.
Edit - Tried updating via SEUS but it says the phone has modified software and cant be updated. :-(
Would flashtool work?? I have no idea how to use it tho but am downloading it. Looking for things on here is hard work. lol.
Is your boot loader unlocked? You didn't mention if it was or not. If its not then that's why your bricked.

Its unlocked. The tutorial before the one I mentioned above was about finding out if it was or not and it had a YES next to it in the menu. Along with my IMEI number etc, so I was told I was OK to go ahead with the other tutorial.
Flashtool Guide
Oh rght this should help you, okay. The answer to your question is yes flashtool should work, it sounds like you've got a botched install that's all if you doo this you should be fine
THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE BUT NOT YOUR SD CARD
Here's a quick rundown of what you need to do, Download flashtool, download an ftf file, flash the ftf file to your phone through flashtool and then as if by magic your phone should work. So let's begin
Step 1) Turn your phone off - Then leave it to the side.
Step 2) Download and install Flashtool Get flashtool from here
After it has downloaded install it but make sure you have remembered the directory where you've installed it.
Step 3) Download an ftf file. This is a package that contains the stock software that came with your phone and flashing this will therefore return your phone to factory settings or stock.
Here is a thread with a list of ftf files, download the one that corresponds with your phone.
After you've downloaded it move it the folder named firmwares in your flashtool directory. For example mine is C:\Flashtool\firmwares
Step 4) Install the drivers. Navigate to the drivers folder in your flashtool directory, for example mine is C:\Flashtool\drivers From there open the file named Flashtool-drivers.exe and install ALL of the drivers.
Step 5) Flashing the FTF. Once you have installed all of the drivers open flashtool. From there click on the flash icon in the top left corner of the screen. Select Flashmode then click OK.
Select the FTF file you downloaded and moved to the firmwares folder and then click OK.
You will then see flashtool say it is preparing files for flashing follwed by a popup. The popup will promt you to power off your phone, hold the back button, then plug the USB into your Computer.
After you have done this flashtool will begin flashing your phone. Do not remove the USB until it is finished.
Once it has finished (The log will tell you when it has) remove the USB and power on your phone.
The initial boot may take some time as needs to rebuild it's cache. Don't panic this is normal. After it has your phone shoudl now have booted and be on the stock software that came with it
Hope I helped, if you need anymore help PM me
Thanks for the help but I was just too over that phone so I sent it away for cash (even fuc*ed it was worth £32) and I've got a brand new Xperia Arc S. Thanks.

[ROM][ARC/S]JELLY SANDWICH 4.5[09.09] Sonys logo problen

Well people, I have some problens on my Xperia Arc S GSM
The problem is the rom don't out Sony's logo
I found a Answer to me Question but I don't know how to fallow him
"locked bootlaoder ?
If so you need to flash an official ICS rom with flashtool, root it again, and reinstall x-parts.
Now you should be able to enter cwm.
Then do the full wipe and format system, and flash 4.4 Jelly sandwich.
Always remember that x-parts installs a recovery in the /system folder, not in the kernel (as it is on unlocked bootloaders), so if your rom is messed up, you can't access the recovery anymore and need to reinstall x-parts again, and for this to be done, you need to flash an official rom with flashtool first then root it."
How to Flash Official ICS on flashtool ?
Please, I live in a 3 world country called Brazil, when this phone cost about US$ 700 ! and the minium wage is US$ 350
And if my father discover that I in dead!
Please, I just want to bring my phone back to life
Please HELP ME!
Sorry for my poor English, Brazilian...
:crying::crying::crying:
Try
Use sony update service to repair the phone or flash a generic ROM.
For flashing ROM:
1. You need latest flashtool. Get from here http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
2. ROM (in .ftf format) - Download the ROM that you need.(Search in xda forum)
The methods and procedures discussed here are considered risky and you should not attempt anything if you don’t know completely what it is. Do this only if you’re capable of getting your phone back right on your own. If any damage occurs to you or your device, we won’t be held liable. You only will be responsible — you’ve been warned. Okay!
This process will clear all user data and applications.(contacts, messages, call data, apps, apps data etc.,) . Please take backup of all your data before you start.
Instructions:
1. Switch off your phone and put it aside.
2. Extract the “FlashTool_x.x.x.x.exe” file on your PC (you can just double click on it to extract)
3. Few files and folders will be extracted — the two which we’ll be using are the ‘drivers‘ folder and the ‘firmwares‘ folder.
4. Inside the ‘drivers‘ folder there’s a file named “ggsetup-2.2.0.10.exe”, double click on this file to install the proper driver on your PC.
5. Now copy the “.ftf” firmware file that you downloaded for your phone, and paste it inside the “firmwares” folder.
6. Double click the “X10FlashTool.exe” file.
7. Once the program opens — click on the “Flash” button.
8. You’ll see the firmware that you copied in Step 5 loaded on the screen — click “Ok”!
9. Now it should ask you to connect your phone to the PC. So first plug the USB cable to PC, then pick up your phone and hold the “Back” key (key at the bottom left on
your Arc), and then connect the USB cable to your phone. Remember you’ve to hold the “Back” key while connecting the USB cable to phone.
10. Once the phone gets connected — Flashtool will automatically start the flashing process.
11. Keep an eye on the Flashtool’s screen.
12. And once the process gets finished, disconnect your phone from PC and switch it ON.
13. Don’t freak if it takes longer to boot (that’s normal) as the phone has to build the cache again after flashing.
Enjoy!!!
Hit "Thanks" if anyone helped you. :good:

[Q] Sony Xperia ZL / root

I tried many times to root the phone, unfortunately i couldn't.
Special thanks to user destroyedbeauty, he adviced my ( in PM ) step by step how to do it, but still no success.I followed the steps very careful.
When i tried to root, i didn't check USB Debugging & Unknown Sources.
Should i ?
Is there a way to install apps which require root, on the phone with no root ?
Below are the steps i tried to root the phone, adviced by the mentioned user.
I rather recommend that you install an kernel with pre-configed root access (Doomkernel / Advanced Stock kernel / XzK-kernel) by using built-in Fastboot in Flashtool. By doing this method, do this!!!:
1) Download kernel ZIP from specific kernel thread in "Xperia Z (Original) Android Development" thread section. Take anyone of these below, I also link Advanced Stock Kernel if you want complete stock Sony kernel with added init.d / root / recovery add-on / built-in!;
a) Xz-Gaming v1.0
b) XzK-Kernel v11.0
c) Doomkernel v19
d) AdvancedStockkernel
OBS!! Choice latest kernel from list in each thread for getting latest kernel that is optimized and made for your installed FW. Otherwise, problems can occur..
2) Extract boot.img from downloaded ZIP and put boot-file in Flashtool > Firmwares. After this, copy the same zip to your phone external / internal-SD card. Leave it there and continue read..
3) Turn off your phone and hold volume up, then connect phone to USB-cable. Keep an eye on LED notify lamp, see if it blinking blue - then you're connected in fastboot mode between phone and PC!
4) Open up Flashtool and push on the "Bolt-Button". Select fastboot, then go to firmware subfolder in your Flashtool folder on HDD and select extracted boot.img. Read log in flashtool, read it carefully. If everything seems to be normal, disconnect your phone and boot it up.
5) Go into recovery mode by either hammering volume up / volume down button and then choice "Install ZIP" option. Search after your ZIP file in recovery that contains boot.img and wifi-specific modules (critical for getting working WIF / Bluetooth!!).
6) After completed flashing, wipe cache and Dalvik cache (Dalvik can be found under Advanced section in recovery).
7) Reboot and voilá! Enjoy your custom kernel!
I only tried with "AdvancedStockkernel"
After step 4, the display stays black, nothing happent, no boot, no Sony logo, nothing.
I want to mention one more think : when i unlocked the bootloader 2 days ago, i followed this link :
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
It was successful. On the next step I was asked to write my email / imei / etc !!! Everything went ok.
After that, i tried to root and something went wrong, so i flashed whole .67 FTF in flashmode, again. Now is stock
Is the bootloader still unlocked, after i flashed .67 ftf in flashmode ? Could that be the reason i can't root the phone ?
Should i try again to unlock the bootloader, before i start again to root ?
Please help me guys.
Thank you

If it is just only rooting, you can update your phone just fine. You will encounter the error if your bootloader had been unlocked. You can check your bootloader status by typing in dialer *#*#7378423#*#* a window should be prompt out. Go for software info>configuration. Look at the last one, if is saying bootloader unlock allowed: yes, then your phone bootloader is locked. If it is showing bootloader unlocked: yes, then your phone bootloader is unlocked. You can use flashtool to flash back original ftf to unroot. If you wan to relock bootloader, there is a thread in this forum. You can search for it

For windows 8.1, you will need to use another method to install the necessary drivers for your computer to detect the devices in flashmode and fastboot mode. I dont know it is working or not because i dont own windows 8.1 computer
First of all, the files you will need to proceed next step
1. flashtool. you can download it in offical website http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
2. original ftf file of xperia sl (credits to ska67) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423025 Just download all parts and extract it together to get the whole ftf file
3. usb cable
If you prepared those files, lets get started
1. install the flashtool(this is necessary because we need it flash the ftf)
2. copy the ftf file to firmwares folder (flashtool>firmwares)
3. for the drivers, the setup.exe is located in flashtool folder (flashtool>drivers>setup.exe). AFAIK, you cannot install the drivers directly in windows 8.1, you will encounter error messages while installing
To successfully run the drivers installation, you need to follow these steps
1. Update your windows 8.1, the files can be download in this website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2917929, if you are on windows 8, just skip to step 2
2. Once you are done, follow this tutorial(credits to neroyoung) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095087
3. If you follow the steps correctly, now you should be able to install the drivers without getting error
4. Install the drivers(i already told you the file location at above)
5. Remember when you start the installation, check the box of the flashmode and fastboot drivers and install
6. Once the installation done, restart your computer
7. After this, now your computer should be ready for the flashtool to work
Now, this part is for the ftf installation
1. Power off your phone (just leave it beside, we need it afterwards)
2. Run the flashtool
3. Click the thunder icon (choose flashmode and click OK)
4. A window will prompt out, click the firmware of your device, i assume that you have placed the ftf file inside the firmware folder(it should be named as LT26ii xperia SL, the version will be 6.2.B.1.96)
5. For the options beside it, just leave it there (for the misc section, check the box named with no final verification)
6. Now, you can click the flash button(you need to wait for awhile before a window prompt out
7. A window should be prompt out telling you to connect your device to the computer.
8. Take your phone, press and hold the volume down key
9. Keep it pressed, connect the usb cable to your pc
10. release the key once GREEN LED lights up
11. Now the flashtool will start flashing, let it finish to 100%
12. In the meantime, DO NOT UNPLUG OR PLAY WITH YOUR PHONE BEFORE IT REACHES 100%, YOU WILL RISK BRICKING YOUR PHONE IF THE INSTALLATION WENT FAILURE
13. Once it reaches 100%, it should tell you to disconnect your phone and power on
14. the first boot will take a few minutes so patiently wait for it
15. once its done, have fun with your phone
PS: Follow the steps and be careful, I am not responsible if you brick your phone, burn your house or blow your PC by following this guide.
As i just say from the start, i do not own a windows 8.1 computer and i cannot confirm this tutorial is working or not

Use Winrar software for extracting the files. You can find it online easily.

I can help you. I just did it a couple of hours ago and the step actually is quite easy but since it takes many steps, it might spend you one to two hours to learn if you aren't knowledgeable about flashing stuffs. I was on unlocked bootloader with .757 rooted but that should be no different at all if you don't flash custom kernel(I didn't do that too because currently no .108 custom kernel for us).
1. Be sure to backup your whole existing rom in recovery first and copy it to your computer
2. Use Titanium backup to backup all user apps and app data and copy it to your computer
3. Make sure your contact list in phone book is backed up by Google. If you aren't sure about that, remove your account in PlayStore and setup it again. You will see it asks you permission to backup contact list to Google via Internet in last step(default is yes).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635830
4. Install the latest ver of Sony pc companion in your windows and reboot. It will install the correct z1c driver into your system. Make sure you used a good quality usb cable because if not, that can cause serious problem during flashing firmware and brick your phone in worse case. You can also try to install Xperia driver set in the link above if your windows just can't install Sony pc companion successfully but I think PCC should be better.

I used the rom in this thread. But I was having problem to download it with firefox, everytime it was stopped during in the middle progress, it might be conflicted with some of my add-on. At last, I use Chrome to download it and completely no problem at all.
6. http://www.xperiadownload.cz/index.php/xperiadownload/file/193-flashtool-6-2014
Download the latest flashtool from here and put the D5503_14.4.A.0.108_Generic_UK_1279-4053.ftf under /firmwares
7. Enable USB debugging mode and allow install app from unknown sources in your phone. When you first time to enable usb debugging and connected the phone to windows, there will be a screen to ask you accept and remember on your phone screen. Please immediately to click it.
8. Run flashtool(FlashTool for 32bit win, FlashTool64 for 64bit win). Click on the first icon(power icon) and select flash mode. It will open up a windows to let you select .ftf, pick the Generic_UK_1279-4053. Uncheck the DATA if you want to keep the existing system settings and apps and apps data. But it would be very easy to cause problem like battery draining and unstable after updated because the system settings in .757 and .108 is different. I would highly recommend you clean the DATA here and restore the apps and apps data from Titanium backup later. Please note that you have to quit PC Companion before you run flashtool, otherwise they may have chance to conflict.
9. http://www.theandroidsoul.com/sony-xperia-z-flash-mode/
Follow the guide here to enter flash mode. First power off your phone, second unplug the usb cable out of the phone, third press and remember to keep holding down the volume down key then connect the usb cable to your phone again. After a few seconds, my windows7 showed installing device driver at the right corner and wait it for a couple of mins it will be done and tell you flash drive installed. I still keep hold on the volume down at this moment but I'm not sure if it really needed. The guide in the link said there will be a Green LED light on xperia z but my z1c just didn't show me any LED light.
10. I remember the flashtool was aborted because I was unpluged the usb cable out(though I reconnected it later on). I was once again selected the .ftf and this time it immediately detected my phone was in flash mode and started to flash the firmware to my phone. I released the volume down key at this time. Remember to close all software in your windows, don't listen music or play games please, don't do anything and don't let any people near your computer now(if your computer health is bad and always easy to hang, you should give up now until fixed the problem or buy a new computer). If your windows is unstable and got blue screen, your phone will brick. Just wait it to finish, not too long, I think 10 to 15mins.
11. Your should flashed .108 successfully now and unplug the usb cable, press on the Power to let the phone boot into OS.
12. Repeat step seven again.

Use the EasyRoot tool v11 here and run it in windows. After rooted then reboot first and go to playstore to install SuperSU(by Chainfire ver) and reboot again. Please note that sometimes EasyRoot tool v11 will get stuck during in the middle processing for some unknown reason, don't worry, just press Ctrl-C to cancel it and run it again.

http://nut.xperia-files.com/
I've used Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.150-BETA.installer.zip and please download it from the sendspace link above and run it in windows(it also worked perfectly on my unlocked z1c). In the command prompt window, select "1" - SuperSU and it will install custom recovery to your z1c. It will also install a NDR Utils app and you can select which recovery(cwm or twrp) you want to use in that app, default is TWRP. Please note that there are some new ver of Z1C-lockeddualrecovery but some may buggy and I don't have time to test them all.
Now you've done but if you want to deodex the rom to play more tweaking stuffs/mods. There are more steps to do.
15. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html
Install the latest ver of Java runtime for windows and reboot.
16. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713329
Use kamome tool v6a and run it in windows. Follow this steps: 1>2>3>5>4>6 and at last, copy the deodex_install.zip to your phone storage. Reboot into recovery and flash the deodex_install.zip, clean cache and dalvik cache then reboot. Please note that I think kamome tool v6a will also install a SuperUser into your phone which conflict with SuperSU. Don't worry, click on SuperSU and it will tell you SuperUser detected and ask you to uninstall it and click Yes.
17. Restore all apps and apps data from Titanium backup but if you are originally come from an odexed rom, don't restore those odex apps into a deodexed system, you have to install all of them via PlayStore manually first then only restore the app data in Titanium backup thereafter.
You have finished pretty much all things now. It will take you many steps to go but all are easy work.

Thanks. It's great and work, now I am restoring apps by titanium backup. Thank you so much.
Is there any way to simple update a previous rom version on an already rooted bootloader locked z1 compact device?
After root process in your guide, may I have reinstall dual recovery anyway? May I keep my previous recovery or it has been deleted by the flashtool?
Many thanks
Rose
There are several ways to update firmware (OTA, Sony PC Companion, Flashtool, Recovery). When doing a firmware update you will normally lose recovery on locked bootloader. You can however easily reinstall it.

Please give us more details. Which rom and what ver?
The problem is that some older ver recovery may not working in new rom, you will need updates. Flashtool usually will destroy custom recovery.
