Was having trouble getting adb access after updating... had to go into USB computer connection and uncheck "Connect as: Media Device (MTP)" to fix.

I installed the Lollipop Stock Rom today (razor-lrx21p-factory-ba55c6ab.zip), coming from Paranoid Android. It works perfect, but I have problems getting it rooted properly. I used Nexus Root Toolkit to root it. SuperSU appears, but when I try to open for example TitaniumBackup, it asks for root access, but afterwards the app says that none has been granted. The log of SuperSU says the following:
Code:
/data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/files/busybox
echo "
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]$?" >&2
echo "
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]"
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]1
[=-#@eNdOfStREaM_.]
Can anybody help me?

I'm having the same problem

Just wanted to say thanks to the dev, all working good here,
To the guys asking if it works on Multirom:
It does, I have it running as the main ROM, moved the one I had (Stock KitKat) to secondary, didn't have to do anything special.
Cheers.

When you download the Google now launcher it makes it the android l launcher. I had the same problem

I just flashed this today, and an either having assorted issues, or an just on the lollipop learning curve, and need some assistance.
First, I have no lock screen, and security settings says I need to make one to edit it... How?
Next, I can get the notification drop down, but I haven't seen a notification yet after a few hours, and more importantly, can't double swipe to get the quick menu or get the quick menu with a second swipe on the notification bar... Am I doing something wrong?
On KitKat to get the extended boot menu, we turned it on in developer settings, right? I added the developer settings, but don't see an extended boot menu option. How do I get that back ?
I do have for still and an unlocked, but I'm just seeing things I either not familiar with, or am having some flash update issues.... Not sure which yet.

Thanks so much Scott, it works perfectly to mine N7

Video & App Install Issue
So - I know this is a known issue. Video playback is very broken right now for me on this ROM. I can play some local files in QuikPic but cannot play Youtube videos or some streaming stuff in Chrome, regardless of if I'm throwing it to Chromecast or playing on device. I'm on TWRP 2.8.1.0, flashed the updated bootloader, and cleared everything prior to flashing the ROM twice now. I had to run the SD Card code to get external storage back also. I have had no issues with any KK or prior ROMs in the past.
I also have numerous programs that are giving me the -506 Error on install, which I cannot find a fix for. I've tried force installing them with Titanium after getting the error, and that fails too (never ending circle of restore after HOURs of waiting). I've cleared cache, deleted data for Play Store and Play Services, but no solution for this issue either
I really don't want to have to completely wipe the device and flash a stock image again. If I do, I'm manually rooting the device and saying good bye to a ROM that made life much easier. I appreciate the effort of our ROM creator, but this is frustrating.

When plugging in my nexus to the computer, I can't see the twrp folder. I have only 1.71 GB left of internal storage, but no other folders except downloads and camera folders can be seen.

No auto rotation and Google Play Movies not working
Thanks for the work on the ROM. Most thing work well but a couple of issues I've had are mentioned in the title above. I do have the auto rotate option in settings but it does not work. It stays in portrait no matter what I do, but when I open an app that only has landscape mode that'll open fine but it'll get stuck in that position even after I exit the app. I have to open an app that only has portrait mode then exit that app to have the screen flip back. Also, whenever I try to watch anything on Google Play Movies it'll say "playback not supported on this device." Once again, thanks for all your hard work.

I looked into the auto rotate issue. seems to work fine for me, both on the Google Now Launcher and the AOSP Launcher2... did you come from another ROM/Android version/restore with titanium backup? anything that may cause the issue, try a clean install.
As for the Google Play Movies issue, I downloaded it and took a look, you're correct, it doesn't seem to play. I haven't tried local videos. I did a logcat and it threw a DRM error at me, it then gave me the thought that does unlocking the bootloader on a nexus remove DRM keys of any sort? I know it does on Xperia and have had one of their devices. I'll look into it.

Thanks for the quick reply. The rotation issue may have something to do with the fact that I did a dirty flash, coming over from Paranoid Beta 4.6. The reason I did this was because I currently reside in Cambodia and a clean install will not let me re-enable Google Now. Since PA 4.6 is Kit Kat I still have Google Now enabled and a dirty flash allowed me to keep that setting. I'll try and google some work arounds for getting back google now and if I can find a solution I'll try a clean install.
Any updates to the Google Play Movies issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

One more thing I should mention is that I did the exact same thing for my Nexus 5. I did a dirty flash from PA 4.6 using your rom for the Nexus 5 and I have had none of these issues. I was able to keep Google Now, auto rotate works fine and I can also view all my shows on Google Play Movies.

That's probably your issue, you could backup with TWRP, flash and clean install, then use titanium backup just to restore google now from the nandroid?
I fail to see how your location effects that though, surely you could just flash it here on XDA, I'm sure there are some Google Now zips lurking around.
I'm having a look into it now, I'll probably reach out for help from some others, but should be fixed in the next build
EDIT:
Each device is different, I've seen dirty flashes work and not work from device to device it's very hit and miss. Rascarlo supports the N5 ROM, not me

Android 5.0 requires the turning on of location reporting for Google Now to work. This is not allowed in certain regions, Cambodia being one of them and the option is completely unavailable. I'll try your suggestions with TWRP and Titanium although I do remember seeing an article regarding a work around for this.

Yea man I noticed it ony force closes if your in a conversation or message thread and you hit the home button instead of backing out to the message list then pressing home. It's annoying but it can be worked around. Hoping for a fix
Using Gear S Smartwatch
I have also noticed that the necessary files and plugins to connect the phone to the gear s smartwatch are missing from the 5.1.1 update. I found them on a different XDA thread and installed them manually and now everything works as it should with using the smartwatch for those of you who have one. However, I also noticed with messages app I tried a different approach by dirty flashing 5.1.1 over 5.02 stock and messaging was working fine without ANY force closes. Then I installed everything for my Gear S smartwatch and rebooted. Once I rebooted the messages app began to force close again. I dont know if it is due to reboot like capacitive buttons with haptic feedback, or if it was due to one of the plugins for my smartwatch. If anybody can test it out by dirty flashing then rebooting let me know. Sorry for long post, just trying to help.
Is it normal for me to loose root access after installing this rom ? Is there a way I can get it back without being stuck in a bootloop ?

You should probably read up on the ROM a bit before flashing, it's clearly stated (and much discussed) in the thread that root is not available.

How to turn haptic feedback back on for capacitive
For those of you who installed the 5.1.1 rom and lost capacitive feedback after reboot like I did. I found something strange which turned the feature back on. Here's a step by step.
Go into play store and install the app called DU BATTERY SAVER
Once installed, open the app and click on the SAVER TAB at the bottom
In the SAVER TAB click on MY MODE and enable it
Then click on the PENCIL next to MY MODE to Edit it
In there you'll find HAPTIC FEEDBACK IS DISABLED. ENABLE IT.
Voila!! your welcome!!

With the new TWRP recovery you can install also system.img. But to install TWRP recovery you need also fastboot. At this point, when you install TWRP recovery, you can install also system.img and boot.img.
However you can do all that you want in many way. The link for TWRP recovery is in the first post.

All ok and selinux is also enabled. so google can't break the balls saying that we are not secure. Also if i think that the real security in android is only with root, because without root permissions, you don't have sufficient permissions to manage and clean up your own system.
For me, selinux enabled is good only because some crap apps can check this to not work. When you hide the root, you are on pure and simple AOSP, so no problems for everyone.
I tested many things, but please test and let me know what we can add or correct. I use it as daily rom from some days.

Thanks, man, surely will do! In your personal opinion, is this one falling behind your build of LP in any aspects, or it's just as good? I'm flashing it right now, will report this afternoon already about any eventual issues! Thanks once again
EDIT: Tried formatting two USB drives as "internal storage", one of 32 GB and one of 8 GB. The 32 GB one keeps failing over and over, giving me a java related error (timeout).
The 8GB one formatted and worked fine.
The Dish Network Anywhere app won't run. It attempts to open and crashes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Any ideas anyone? Other than that this is fantastic so far. Thank you @zulu99 !!
Can i preinstall apps on windows or would i have to unpack and repack in linux? to clarify I'm looking for a way to install same apps on multiple devices without doing one by one, as of now I have a folder in Es file explorer (android TV apps) and transfer via LAN then install one by one.
Anyone know easier way?
Thoughts helium backup, twrp backup first device and restore from backup on other devices.

Yup with or without root it crashes. I also extracted from nexus 9 on 6.0 and crashed as well. I might try some more ideas later but as for now I have 6 devices to flash.
Works fine on nexus 6 6.0.
Don't forget that this firmware is android 6. So to say if an app works or not work, compare with the stock firmware. some apps are not ready for android 6.
But 85% yes.

Google camera app can crash. The HAL for the usb webcam is experimental but you can do all, videocall, take photo and record videos with the appropiate app.
Installation:
Download the firmware from this link: https://goo.gl/7Xy1qL
Put the device in bootloader mode:
1) fastboot flash boot boot.img
2) fastboot flash system system.img
3) fastboot -w
To root you can download the last SuperSu beta and install with TWRP recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...recovery-twrp-2-8-6-0-touch-recovery-t3114717
To restore the original firmware you can use the Factory Images "fugu" for Nexus Player https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Note:
The remote that came with the Nexus Player will pair and work with this ROM, however it is not sufficient so please refrain from asking questions in this thread about it. I recommend using DroidMote or an hardware keyboard/mouse for realistic functionality. Only directional keys are not sufficient for a full version of Android. I love Android in TV and i use it from 3 years with many Android Tv Box. I made this firmware for my personal use, because i like Android with standard apps UI, that are more accessible, updated and fast. I like a customizable launcher, but specially i don't like imposed limitations made just to protect economic interests of few.

Had soft reboots when using browser. Wiped, re-flashed and same issue.
What gapps package did you use? I made a quick one with play services and gmail.

Go into permissions and issue all permissions to the browser, or just install chrome - it supports 6.0 better
I am not going to talk about GApps, sorry
Try the marshmallow for nexus 4 thread - people there might have answers.

thanks
For gapps i used this package https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347833783 its pretty basic but gets you what you need, make sure to do a factory reset after flashing it otherwise the setup wizard will fc.
Now all we need is root
Used these gapps, follow the instructions though, use "touch 'filename' " in TWRP terminal for the file creation. Gapps on 6.0 is struggling right now, but these instructions worked for me.
EDIT: Forgot the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...le-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330/post63226314
Same problem with soft reboots. Often just after starting Android before or after login. Even if I don't install gapps.

Thanks, that worked for me.
Also tried flashing supersu 2.52 beta from twrp but that seems to make it stick at the android loading screen so I guess there's no root at the moment.
it is a userdebug image, so at least in adb you have root
Amazing piece of work. Gonna try it as soon as a reliable gapps package is out!

edit thx for sharing :
I was having the bootloop at google logo and couldn't figure out what to do.
great job on the rom, no idea why people are having issues, i found the gapps package in the nexus 4 forum....no bootloops here, everything seems to work......I was able to enable google now on tap however i do not know how to use it, instructions say to hold down the home button to launch, however we do not have a home button, any ideas?

Maybe we need a kernel that supports root. That's how it is on the Nexus 5 anyway. I don't know if any of the lollipop kernels would work on this. Maybe I'll try that sometime soon.
Just an FYI.....
Updating Google Play Services (required for YouTube) sends it into a FC loop.
Hey guys, Have you noticed any kind of performance improvement after installing marshmallow ?

I've noticed it has been pretty quick. Did a full wipe and used the system.img from his website. Used these gapps. https://github.com/XorgMC/gapps-mm/releases/download/v1-mini/gapps-mm-mini.zip
Also, if you use those gapps it will say it failed if you try to restore your apps. Hit skip and it will say restoring. It will take a long time to install the apps. If you lock the screen and then unlock it swiping from the side to open the google app you can use the device while it restores your apps.
I havent had any issues related to the rom, just the gapps. Google app fails when i try to search something.

Latest HTC lockscreen update essentially soft bricked my phone.

Hi all,
The latest update has some issues- the OS boots and I am immediately presented with a system.ui has been stopped dialogue. I'm unable to open the app drawer, open an app, open the notification drop-down. The popup appears almost immediately after dismissing. I think the Testers really missed something here.......
I'm going to have to try and locate the previous version and hope I can install it through twrp.
Has anyone else seen this happen?

Do you encrypt your phone? I feel like the update didnt transfer encryption presets and new app is trying to unlock without decryption codes or something.

I do mate, it's stock still. I didn't have to change anything regarding that, fired up as normal and asked for my PIN to decrypt device.
Just thinking, if you can battle it go and uninstall the update via settings and apps

I was unable to install the apks located there in the traditional way. I tried to install them through TWRP via adb push file.apk /system/app but it didn't work. I'm unaware of how to install APKs outside of the system otherwise? Regardless, downgrading, if this method is viable, didn't work. I had to completely wipe clean and start fresh.

Wipe and start over. I had to. I have work calls that I can't be absent for. Thanks HTC. My phone was out of service for ~3 hours while I figures this out and the phone got completely usable again after flash+settling.

The bug doesn't allow the user to enter any screen. So doing this is not an option

Viper 3.5.0. I haven't upgraded to ANdroid 7.0 for reasons.

Not sure if HTC is to blame, or we...or you being still on marshmallow.
Next time please post in the viper thread, then I would have seen your post much earlier to debug your issue.
we found the issue.
run:
adb shell settings put system tweaks_hquicksettings Tweaks
..and it will be fixed. when you resetup your toggles, don't pick any of the two sync toggles.
I'll create a flashable zip to remove those soon.

You should have been able to fix it without wiping by booting to recovery and dirty flashing the ROM.
EDIT: No, this actually won't work. Sorry
Flashable fix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7pdthav90nsp6bw/HTC10_3.5.0_Lockscreen_Update_FC_Fix.zip?dl=0

Will your fix work on my device too?
Found your solution in the m8 thread...
Thank you sir

Thank You! Flashing this file fixed the issue and saved me a huge headache. Now to take away the HTC Lockscreen app's
"auto update" rights since it clearly can't be trusted.

read the info on our homepage.
Not sure who is to blame, htc or we.
You can install the update, with either the fix installed or the sync toggles removed.
or you dirty flash the fullrom on top, that way the sync toggles stay working.
..what I'm wondering, why so many people are still on marshmallow...

There's a few xposed modules I like.
Is nougat really that big a difference? I have it on my tablet and it's very similar to marshmallow.

guiness is also just a usual beer.
Well I like Marshmallow and Nougat. But I don't like Guinness!
If Guinness had Xposed modules then I'd drink it!
I have this problem on my m8 as well. Unfortunately I was not able to solve this problem with your post. I cannot execute the adb command since adb is telling me that my device is offline (I booted into the OS with the screen going on and off).
I also flashed the zip file, but it didn't work out either. I am not sure which version of viper I have (I assume it's the 6.0.1), so I tried different zips but no success...
Could anyone tell me what I did wrong? I really don't want to do a full reset.

another way would be to go to twrp->advanced->file manager
navigate to /data/app/ and delete the com.htc.lockscreen folder do the same in /data/data
boot up, then go back to recovery and flash the fullrom on top.
if nothing helps, you can do a twrp backup, then clean flash. Now you can restore your apps and data with titanium backup.
Been looking for a solution to this ! My gf phone had the exact same issue, dirty flashed and still no good etc.
I shall try the packages J posted. Thanks so much!
