[Q] Stock Android System UI for Nokia X - Nokia X

Hi! , I want to replace Nokia X system UI (launcher, status bar) with android's stock UI or Samsung's UI.
I read somewhere i have to flash some system files (not writing name, as they are critical files and lay men can destroy their phones). can any one give me complete guide to do so... I don't want to flash custom roms.
Thank you in Advance.!

I am sorry that I can not help but It seems it would be easier just to install 3-rd party launcher like Nova launcher and use it instead of the default Nokia launcher. What you ask seems possible by installing custom rom but currently all custom ROMs for Nokia X are either full of bugs or are laggy. You can have a look at the dhacker's thread for AOSP/Code Aurora Vanilla Android 4.1.2 for Nokia X (normandy) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2710107) but even this one has a bug which one should overcome by a workaround.

[Q] GT-S5363 custom ROM

Hello,
Firstly, I am new to this forum. I watched the "noob video" and try to follow the guidelines.
I own a Samsung Galaxy Y(oung) GT-S5363. The baseband version is S5363XXKK3.
My Carrier is O2 Germany.
Now I found that the original firmware's options are kinda limited. For instance it doesn't have different profiles and there is no setting for vibration feedback while typing.
Now I want to flash my phone with a custom ROM. The ROMs I found are for the GT-S5360, but after a short forum search I discovered that I can use 5360 ROMs.
However, the custom ROMs I found are a little bloated. I don't want the ROM to have as many functions as you can pack into it and change the whole look & feel of the phone.
I want the ROM to use as little RAM and CPU as possible. It is not important to have German as UI language setting, but the Swype keyboard should know German.
Now which ROMs could you recommend to me? If there is no ROM out there which meets my requirements, would you recommend me building my own one?
Thanks in advance,
Luca
check out the multilanguage roms in android dev. section.. u can find the rom u like over there
Cranium is very minimalistic. So I guess Cranium is the one you are looking for. Theres only a handful of Roms available though.
No custom rom atm has Swype as keyboard. Just download Swype beta, it has German language support.

hybrid is also known as a light one. if you want the swype. copy swype.apk in your current rom (in /system/app) to your sd card then copy it to /system/app folder in custom rom's zip folder.
btw, you can remove any bloatware from your rom manually by deleting the apk's via root explorer or any file explorer which could acces system's folder.
Is this possible with Linux as Desktop OS? I use Xubuntu and don't want to install Windows just for messing around with my smartphone^^
to modify the rom's *zip file you can do it in linux or whatever OS as long as you can open the zip file. to manually remove the bloatware from your current stock rom you should root your device and install root explorer.
So, I clicked through a few threads with the alternative firmwares. As far as I got it, both the Cranium and the Hybrid mod change the look & feel drastically. Is there a way to have more settings with the Samsung TouchWiz UI?
you may use another launcher...

More settings? Try Creed's. It has Auto Brightness, Xloud, Swipe to remove notifications in the newest version and what not. Im running on v2.0 though.

Hi, I recommend EmeralD ROM
It contains German Swype, and just some minimal modifications on the stock ROM.
There's all the stock apps in, but you can remove the unneeded apps from the zip (system/app folder) before applying.

[Q] How can I customize a ROM for wildfile s?

I'm looking to update my gf phone since it has a serious problem of low internal memory.
The current ROM installed is a custom ROM made (I think) by the store that sold it. It support a Hebrew interface in the Sense UI. I don't really know what this ROM supports or not other than that.
What I would like to do is as follows:
1. Take a stock original sense ROM.
2. Add Hebrew UI by extractin the Hebrew UI from my current ROM - Need to know how this could be done.
3. Add root.
4. Add support for EXT partition, that works exactly like S2E in CM. I didn't see link2sd as very useful.
5. After these additions, install the ROM to the phone.
Any tips or help on the process would be much appreciated.

Stock Android Theme for Stock Android with TW

Hello,
I wish the optics from the stock android (like cm11 oder silm rom) but with all the functions of a TW Rom. Is this possible?
The System UI must be also like Stock Android and the Toggles.
Greez....
Tom
There was ROMs in the past where it was "themed" to look like CM .. though now there is not a single ROM with this.. and if you would want to do such a thing, it require a lot of work .. you would need to edit lots of things like framework and systemui

Hello,
there is a way to make only the very hard to make. Can you give me a simple way to show how I can start?
Greez
Basically android General User interface is made of multiple apk files .. Apps in other words.
For example
System/framework/framework-res.apk contains the android design that apps would use it. And how phone looks in general
Systemui.apk is status bar and the pull down and pop ups
Those are the very main ones.
You should edit the apk files and swap the touchwiz images with the one you want..
For other system apps, you would want to edit them too separately (settings, camera, music, etc.)
I don't know much about it .. But that's all I can help with.

And how can extract tge files from apk?

[Mod] [7.1+] [Flashabe ZIP] Restore Removed/Replaced Stock Sony Apps

Well, I recently got an Xperia X and something that annoyed me was that a lot of the exclusive apps and features from Sony which previous Xperia phones had built-in simply got replaced or removed for no reason after the X series, so, with some effort, I managed to get some of them back by extracting the relevant files from previous Xperia devices which still have the apps, and decided to share a flashable ZIP for anyone else which also miss those apps and features...
Overview
This flashable ZIP will:
• Bring back Multi Camera and AR Mask camera add-ons
• Bring back the Screen Recording app (accessible from the power menu)
• Bring back Clear Phase and xLOUD sound enhancements (accessible from audio settings)
• Bring back the Podcast app (accessible from the side menu of Sony Music/Walkman app)
• Replace SwiftKey with Xperia Keyboard (including its online sync and Gmail/SMS learning features)
• Replace Google Calendar with Xperia Calendar (including its "Tasks" feature which used to be a separate app but now are built into the main app)
Requirements
• Some way of flashing ZIP files (TWRP recovery preferably, but app solutions like Flashfire should work too)
• Your phone must be running a stock ROM based on Nougat 7.1 or newer (security patch or whether your ROM is odexed or deodexed doesn't matter)
• This ZIP file was tested only on Xperia X, but theoretically it should work fine on X Compact, X Performance and XZ too as long as they're running a stock ROM based on Nougat 7.1
Instructions
You just need to download and flash the ZIP file available below. After rebooting your phone, you can check the results by yourself.
Download from MEGA (56.5 MB)
MediaFire mirror
is there any posibility to install the apps without root????

AFAIK, no, except for Xperia Keyboard and Xperia Calendar as they're published on Play Store, but installing them as user apps wouldn't provide full functionality. The other applications normally ships only on stock firmware of the Z series and come odexed, so those apps won't install normally after deodexing, which is a hard requirement to make them work on another phone...
I have not much to say and even just bringing back the screen recording could have made me happy. Yet, you brought all of the excluded features. Thank you.

Not all of the excluded features, but most of them. I really miss Intelligent Rotation (all phones from Z series except Z5 and its variations have it) and even through we have native split screen, I also miss the Small Apps (especially Active Clipper and the floating calculator). I even tinkered with them for a while, it's definitely possible to bring them back by porting from Z5 or Z3+, for example (which are both on Nougat and still have them) but they would require messing with the framework files and thus, would remain locked to a specific ROM version, so at least for now I gave up, especially since Xperia X receive updated firmwares fairly often...
Does your zip file work on stock 8.0 OS? Do you know why there is no headphone selection feature for all X series. Why did Sony removed them? I found an sony headphone selection apk file and Installed it on my Xperia X stock 8.0 OS but it's not showing up in audio settings.

Does it works in Android P custom ROM?

As those are the stock apps, without any modification, pulled straight from the last Nougat firmware for Z5 series, I highly doubt they'll work on anything but stock (or stock based) ROMs. You might find some actual ports of those apps in Sony Cross-Device Themes and Apps subforum, though...
