[Q] Clock displayed shifts slightly when display enters power saver mode - Asus ZenWatch

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4PbEIHxGbEFelM3VVB1RC0zU2M/edit?usp=docslist_api
Hi guys. I received my Asus ZenWatch today from Best Buy. I attached a link to the video I made above that shows exactly what is happening. Once the screen enters battery saver mode (when screen always on is selected) and the minute hand advances, the clock shifts slightly. Does this happen with all ZenWatches, or is my watch slightly defective?

This is normal. It is to prevent image burn due to it being an amoled screen.

SMS Notification on screen when screen is "off"

I'm no developer so i have really no idea if this would work.
But, as this mobile is a AMOLED screen, each pixels are lighted up and so not much battery is drained on a black screen.
What if we could somehow make something when a new sms has not been read and screen turns of, a black screen like this appears
Is something like this possible?
pic example, could even be smaller or just 1 blinking pixel.

I think to display a message on screen the machine would need to be awake, so it would be using more power than with an led notification (afaik the device can normally go to sleep then).
Your idea would still save power over just showing the lock screen though because you are right that using fewer pixels would proportionally reduce power usage of the screen.
I guess the hardest part would be making the device appear off - It would need to ignore screen and button touches (except power).

[Q] SMS time after airplane mode

Hey everyone. I have a slight problem. When I turn my phone on to airplane mode (usually at night) and turn it back on if I get an SMS it shows me the time that it got service. On my iPhone it would show the time the message was sent.
If anyone knows how to change ti to show when it was sent i would greatly appreciate it.
Side question: If I use my nexus as a clock at my bed (with a dock) and have the clock with black background how does that affect the screen. I know AMOLED turns off the blacks but would I have some kind of burn in from where it's turned on
Not sure on SMS as I use GV exclusively (which shows when it was sent, not received), but you may have an issue with the AMOLED screen:

Under normal use I don't think you'll have a problem like that guy, however. Using it as a nightstand alarm clock may be an issue though. My Incredible had no noticeable screen issues after 20 months when I retired it to remote control duty.

Slight flickering light on home screen?

Hi guys I just got my H1X (int. version)a few days ago, and it's still all in stock.
To conserve battery I usually put the display on the lowest brightness, but I noticed that while I'm at my home screen I get a slight flickering of the light, and what's weird is it always flickers in intervals of 1 second, as the seconds on the clock (mine is the ring clock widget) moves.
Is this normal?
p/s: this only happens at lowest brightness. I tried adjusting it to 40~50% and I couldn't notice the flickering anymore.

[Q] HTC switches off and screen brightness not working

Hello,
Yesterday when I was done working and got my phone from my locker, I opened an app and immediately
the screen went black and appearantly the phone had switched itself off. I turned it back on wondering why
it did this, but as soon as it had started up and the home screen appeared, it turned itself right back off.
I tried turning it back on about 7 or 8 times until the battery ran out and I could not try anymore.
When I got home I put it on the charger and fortunately the phone stayed on, however the top of the screen
seemed to be 'trembling' a bit and some pixels were changing from light red to dark red to light red etc. (my home screen is red)
I decided to leave it charging overnight and when I woke up, the trembling had disappeared. I took it off the
charger and after scrolling through my Facebook news feed, found that battery percentage was decreasing quite
quickly considering it's on power saver mode. I thought it might be that the screen brightness is too high, so I went
to settings and tried to adjust the screen brightness, however it is not responding? My screen brightness stays
exactly the same no matter whether I increase or decrease it, and when I was doing that the phone switched itself
off again. I put it back on charge now and turned it back on, but I am quite annoyed about this issue because I
do not know what it is and my phone is only 5 months old. I hope any of you can shed some light on the situation.
Summary of the issues:
- Phone switching itself off
- Screen trembled yesterday
- Battery decreasing quickly
- Brightness setting not working
Info about the phone:
- HTC One X 5 months old
- Android 4.2.2
- No adjustments made to the phone with rooting or any of that
Thanks!
Must be a hardware failure if you havent changed anything software-wise
Is it overheating?
Is it under warranty?
And other sensors are working? But like TTG TriCkSh0tZz said , use your warranty if you can.

Screen Saver Issues

I searched high and low, I can't be the only one having this issue... Screen saver works at night for a couple hours and then screen goes completely black at some point OR the clock is distorted and unreadable. I have factory reset, installed and tested another screen saver and it did the same thing.
Thoughts?
