The watch is OEM Android Wear right?? - Sony Smartwatch 3

The watch is OEM Android Wear right?
The reason why I asked is the lifelog app.
When Google updates Android Wear for other smartwatches we will not have to wait for Sony?
Any Android Wear update should hit all devices about the same time?

For reference, the last update (to 4.4W.2), 360 got it first, then lg the next day, then the samsung 4 days later. Nothing at all like waiting for your cell carrier to update.

"As of today, Moto 360 will be Wi-Fi enabled" - Android Wear representative

Post by Android Wear representative a few minutes ago:
"Hi again,
Watches powered by Android Wear are built by different manufacturers and some may not support Wi-Fi.
As of today, the following Android Wear watches will be Wi-Fi enabled:
LG Watch Urbane
Samsung Gear Live
Sony SmartWatch 3
Moto 360
As already mentioned, the release is rolling out gradually, thanks for your patience.
Cheers!
Ernest"

From what I saw, Google confirmed we'd get the update "over the next few days or weeks" As per Motorola's twitter & Facebook posts, however, "We shouldn't expect the update in the next few weeks."
I haven't checked their social media in a week or so, but that's what I was seeing when I checked last. Just be patient, we already know we're getting it for a fact. More threads about it won't make it come any faster. There's already a discussion topic in this forum for the coming update. [emoji14]
This is not news AS OF TODAY ...
This is old news... back on 4/21/15 I posted this information:
Google has updated the Android Wear APK which makes it POSSIBLE to connect our Moto360 via WiFi.
http://motorola-blog.blogspot.ae/2015/04/moto-360-its-time-for-update.html?m=1
HOWEVER: as of 5/14/15 we are STILL WAITING for Motorola to roll out the FIRMWARE UPDATE to our Moto360 Watch.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60271347
So does anyone know WHEN will moto360 get wifi support?
There is absolutely no reason to hold this feature off, other than critical battery or other hardware issue.
What's the best source to get the latest news?
Thread cleaned.
Please no arguing and keep it cordial.
Regards
Keep making a new post every day about the moto 360 getting the WiFi update, one day you'll be right, unless google decides to cancel the update ?

Thats because Motorola has not released the firmware update yet. They will most likely post here http://motorola-blog.blogspot.kr once roll-out has begun.

Google has released Android 6.0 for Wear..keep an eye out

Yep, so glad! Doze should be awesome for our watches. Hopefully some of us get it soon.

New android wear announced by google!:

What do you think about it?
Disappointedly incremental upgrade.
Its version 1.4 for wear, not 6 . Probably the API does level up tot the same as Android 6 had.
The update will appear in the Android Wear app on the phone and will be automatically applied or where should i search for it?

On watch setting/about/system updates
no Update on Sony sw3
Too bad our watch doesn't have a speaker. Still looking forward to the update.
are we waiting on sony to put their stamp on it or just direct from google?
Waiting for Sony, except with wear it does not take that long as google didnt allow much modifications . days or weeks, not months before it gets through Sony

You don't have to search for it, you'll get a notification card on the watch. The phone app actually isn't involved in the process (just as the pipe if your watch is connnected via bt), it is downloaded straight to the watch. But google says you do need to have the current phone app (updated Jan 26).

I thought with Android wear, it was straight from Google.
Not according to previous experiences..see eg http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/sony-smartwatch-3-gets-latest-android-wear-update-24-08-2015/

same...same, one of the reasons I felt the sw3 was the better buy over all the others
Yeah it's a shame google hasn't put NFC to use. Especially with Android lay not full in effect.
this news has me checking for system updates every couple hours.
wish it had a speaker as well but not for calls, just audio notifs or alarms...i get enough weird looks from asking my watch for directions...imagine if it talked back.

until we get the first confirmed update on SWR50, there is no point checking for the update.
even then, unless you're factory resetting and unpairing/re-pairing you wont get it any faster than it was intended.
lets hope for a system dump here. i remember me flashing the August-release manually after waiting several weeks

How do you force android wear updates?

I have been sitting on android wear 2.0 a couple of days and no update or notification appeared, is there any way to force it? I've read that AW 2.7 is ready for our watches.
There's a lot of confusion on "Android Wear" updates, and that's mostly because news outlets and even Google themselves refer to both system software updates and Android Wear app updates as "Android Wear" updates. The Android Wear 2.7 (now 2.8) update that you heard about is an update to the Android Wear app, not the system software. The 1st gen Huawei Watch will not receive any more system software updates.
That being said, to answer your question, yes, there is a way to force this update. Follow the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75317693&postcount=5

Huawei Watch 1 - Android Wear 2.9 update received!

Woke up to a pleasant surprise in the morning with an update to the 2.9 version.
The update purportedly incluudes:
New unread notification indicator (on by default)
ComplicationDrawable now handles permission
New Call back indicates if ComplicationDrawable completed loading images/icons
More on the update - https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2018/01/android-wear-sdk-and-emulator-update.html
Have not noticed and battery / perfomance changes / improvements yet.
I have still not recivied 2.9. Any idea when it might be rolled out?
I just got this too. Only thing I noticed is that when there is notifications, there is now a small notification indicator at the bottom of the home screen.

Since Watch 2 has received oreo update and our original Huawei watch didn't, it seems we'll need to install custom roms from now if we want to get updated. I hope someone is cooking a custom rom... maybe from watch 2 update.. :?

same here, I wonder if we still get the 2018 security patches and Android 8.1
Guys, for the last time, we're not getting 8.1. This has been discussed ad nauseam, and it's been confirmed by both Huawei and Google (by omission) that we aren't getting it. So stop wondering. No more patches, no more system software updates. We'll still get Wear OS APP updates, but that's it.

Thanks. Mine is on that version as well. But is that the latest version of Android Wear? I was under the impression that the Watch 2 has a higher version.
I'm not sure where the appropriate place is to post this question.
I've got the Huawei watch (original).
At first it was connected to my HTC M8, but now I'm using it with my iPhone X.
I have installed Watch OS to my phone. When I open the App on the iPhone, it says "Update your Watch: To keep your watch features working properly and use new features, you need to update the apps on your watch".
I click on START on the phone,
The next message is Continue on your watch. I click OK.
The watch says No Wi-Fi found. Connect to Wi-Fi to use Play Store.
(Under SETTINGS > Network. the watch tells me it is connected to my home Wi-Fi; not sure why I get the message "no wi-fi found" when I can clearly see it's connected.)
If I keep at this long enough, I get twirling green circles on the watch, and then an error message. "ERROR RETRIEVING INFORMATION FROM SERVER [RH-01].
Then I'm back at the "retry" prompt.
------------------------------------------------------------
My first question is why does it say it isn't connected, when it just said it was connected.
My second question is how does anything know to connect to Google Play? I'm using an iPhone. Is it even possible to connect to Google Play from an iPhone?
My last question is whether I should just give up on all this, and buy an Apple Watch, which I did NOT want to do. I now have a Pebble Steel, and now this Huawei. I guess I can write the whole thing off as a bad experience and get a new watch, if this is now a dead end street.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
More information...
Watch is running Wear OS 2.0.0 169881869
Error [RH-01] apparently happens when trying to connect to Play Store
Next step will be to re-start the watch, but I'll wait until it has a full charge.
This is the page I am working with to try to fix it: support.google.com/wearos/answer/6321140
Does anyone know where we can download the file from to flash with TWRP?

I also received the new UI. Wear OS version bumped to 2.17.
the update arrived this morning on both my Watch 1 and 2 - both now have the new ui - Watch 1 still shows as Android Wear and not Wear OS - also no security updates so still March 2017 and October 2017
Finally my Huawei Watch is updated to latest Android Wear New Interface.
- Swipe Left - Google Assistant
- Swipe Right - Google Fit
- Swipe Down - Status Toggle
- Swipe Up - Notification

wear os

Is there a way to connect Huawei watch 1st Gen to a pixel 2 xl using the wear os app cause so far I haven't had any luck
What is the problem you had?
You must first do factory reset on your watch and then try.
On my new Pixel 2 which replaced 5X, I had the same issue. Per Google you need to reset your watch (and lose all apps you loaded) in order to sync it with a new phone. After reset of watch, the wear app found the watch and all is good.
