Yes @Onepagebook has root

I am wondering what does it take to port custom recovery to Desire Eye? Assuming that all Qualcomm based HTC devices are similar should not it take just 5 minutes to port TWRP from M8 to Eye?

Since the M8 has almost similar specs, (2GB ram, same processor) it shouldn't be too hard to port it, but I'm not a developer so I can't really judge about it.
What I do know is that custom roms will be véry easy to port from the M8 and M7.

There's an img for the Asian version of the Desire Eye and I have it. I just don't know how to port or anything.

I have no idea. It's from the Taiwan version so all you can do is try and if it fails, the stock recovery from Onepagebook's thread flashed back fine on my phone, so it may flash on yours as well.
Edit: see the original thread, Onepagebook uploaded a recovery for this phone

Important things
++UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER VIA HTC.DEV++
++ENABLE USB DEBUGGING++
++CHANGE THE NAME OF THE RECOVERY FILE TO recovery.img (if you're using my steps)
Steps for flashing
1st, go to settings <battery manager < uncheck fastboot
2nd, power off the phone
3rd, hold volume down and power until the phone boots. It should be at the bootloader screen. Then plug the phone into your computer.
4th. Select fastboot by scrolling to it and hitting the power button. (youll know you're in fastboot when the first choice changes from fastboot to hboot), then in the adb terminal, type( or copy/paste)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then boot into recovery from the bootloader to make sure it worked. Hope this helps those new to HTC phones.

Questions or Problems Should Not Be Posted in the Development Forum
Please Post in the Correct Forums and Read THIS
Moving to General
I had the same problem, the second time has succeeded
I wish some of you members would be a little more polite to people. Yes they are asking a question that has been asked a few times, but so what? This forum is for helping people.
By the time you have insulted them you could have posted a helpful answer and been the saviour of the thread
Download the file again, chances are you're using the old version which needs the OLD beta key
do it with revolutionary........before using it properly install htc desire(with htc sync) drivers, adb drivers(if on windows)...google for the drivers....uninstall the htc sync....then run revlutionary ...and the beta key is 3EOf1E7vN1CEe1XJ...rooted my desire with official gingerbread....now on miui....the link for revolutionary is http://revolutionary.io/.....
link for adb drivers is http://rexton270.wordpress.com/2010...ndows-hboot-driver-installation-instructions/
I just rooted over the weekend, i used Revolutionary tool, and used the HTC Fast Boot Drivers that are linked on that site. Nothing else.
Everything the loaded up fine, after that i was able to just go into Recovery and install a custom ROM.
yah!!
Revolutionary would do it. Then revolutionary have an SU patch zip file you can run through Recovery, Install zip from SD. Then you can root original 2.3 on Desire

Mike has it I think, Football too.
1. It's a TEST RUU, so you don't wanna be flashing it if you're stock
2. You can't flash a radio on it's own (apparently) as it's different to previous HTC phones

Uhhhmmm... The file has been sent to testers from HTC itself and people who are selected in the One X Elevate group.
The people from the Elevate group (most of them) have S-ON devices... So why wouldn't they be able to flash this test rom... THEY DID!
Only reason for not sharing is that the ROM may have watermarks and that way HTC could easier find the leakers, just like Sniper911 with the Gingerbread leak.
Those of us who have unlocked HOXS' can expect the next update sooner than those who have carrier branded devices.
Just be patient, from what I have seen with the HOX, HTC have stepped their game up in the "UPDATES" department.

I agree and it's awesome we get really great software support from HTC. I have a feeling it's because the International One X wasn't 100% finished with all its optimizations. This is great because us as consumers get our problems and bugs fixed quite fast from the feedback we give them. Unlike most android handsets but I guess you get what you pay for. My CM9 rom s based to the new RUU but I don't think the radio was applied to it. So far development for this phone is going great and I can't wait for an easy S-Off method.

Is there any Android 4.4 ROM for the HTC One X?
No

no because it's for the one x plus or the att one x, if there is going to be a 4.4 rom for the one x international endeavouru, it will be reported in the development section on XDA first. please don't post things here that are potentially going to damage someones phone. do a little research first, like the filename and the download folder.....note the "xplus" and "att" in the folder name as per your link http://downloads.kanger.me/?dir=nightlies

The kernel/boot.img is in the rom zip and yes you have to flash it. Not usually with soff but there are very few s-off devices so the Rom's usually don't include the script to flash the boot.img. Do it manually fastboot flash boot boot.img

I'm not on my computer do I can't check what you get with that download. Sounds like you need to flash modules. Till the great Mr Hofs comes back you can try another sense kernel like xm or Alex. Just do a search and flash the boot.img from the kernel you download and then flash the whole kernel.zip in recovery.

Thank you guys, you are surely amazing people for taking your precious time and helping me! I solved the problem it turned out that I accidently selected that I have a custom kernel but I have a stock kernel. After reinstalling the rom choosing the stock kernel option, everything works flawlessly, right now I'm restoring all my apps from my nand back up. If anyone can help me update to jelly bean, I would truly appreciate that as ICS is getting really outdated but if there is really nothing that I can do then I am happy with viperx 2.8.0
