[ROM][5.1.1 LYZ28N][November 2016][Maintainer builds]OmniROM for n8000/n801x - Galaxy Note 10.1 Original Development

About OmniROM
The goal of Omni is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality.
Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are. Developers, whether you’ve been developing apps for a week, or ROM features for 3 years, you’re welcome. Users, we know you want to help out, and now you can – Omni actively encourages bug reports and feature requests, which can be added to our publicly accessible roadmap. What’s the point in giving you a ROM, and forcing you to not tell us about any bugs you find?
We also recognise how people use Custom ROMs – we’re all custom ROM users and developers ourselves – the argument that “nightlies are not for end users” is over-used, and no longer valid. We’ve found that the vast majority of users want to get nightly updates to their ROM. For that reason, nightlies aren’t a playground – nightlies are for new features that are finished. You should be able to expect the same stability and reliability from a nightly as you would from a “release” ROM, and can report any bugs that prevent this from happening.
We know not everyone wants to update their ROM daily, and you are free to update as frequently or infrequently as you like. Omni is about flexibility and giving users what they expect – and we are excited to see where the community goes with it.

How to report a bug
Use the search function, if the bug has already been reported and I or another person has answered do NOT report it again. I'm tired of writing ten times the same thing.
A bug report function is embedded in XDA forum look at the top there's a section called "Bug Reports". Use it
Provide a logcat and/or dmesg. Search on XDA if you don't know how to get a proper log
Always provide which model you are using and other information that you think could be useful to solve the bug
Downloads:
This is an early preview with lots of bugs and not usable as a daily driver. You have been warned. Flash this only if you are sure about what are you doing.
Download folder: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=21696
Starting from 20150506 I'm uploading automated builds: this means that they should be treated as nigthlies (I won't create a new one every 24 hours though). All the new files will be placed in the "Download folder" automatically, so, if no new changes from my part, I will NOT update the changelog. These builds will include all the updates and commits from official Omnirom repos plus my commits not yet merged for our tablets. Good luck
Commits: -> Updated to 5.1.1_r2

Hey marco,
For graphics glitch when rotating you need:
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/540345f70db4f0cea6ad3f1150d2cb2fac18da25
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/4e7f61fd6a36345e7994c236d1c128c4c8a6a0ea
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/db4cec0e189b84e5999ae5b3bef0e7a6c2bb3087
you can probably find those in 4.4 omnirom branch as well.
Then it should be fixed

Thanks I've already merged one of them yesterday (the first), and I need to check the second one. I don't know about the last one because I haven't found any settings in the various configs that enable BOARD_USE_MHEAP_SCREENSHOT. I need to check better though.

I'm in the same boat as you, stuck with the leaked N8000 bootloader on my N8010, and youtube works great for me on last CM 11 build.

Nice work Marco!!
I've flashed your build (while building mine... ) and I've noticed that the keyboard doesn't show up, I had to go to Settings>Language & input>Current Keyboard and switch on the Hardware flag to make the keyboard appear.
Youtube works fine (audio and video)
I've played a couple of mp4 videos with a default gallery without a problem
Music plays fine with Apollo
It seem very good for such an early build...If only the log in with Google Account worked...:fingers-crossed:

Sooo nice rom only network works on N8000 and it will be my rom
- There is a problem with the default browser as it closes after opening on few seconds
- Graphics errors at multi tasks cards.

I usually use chrome. Default browser should be "deprecated" and replaced by chrome. Graphical errors are still there (during switching off screen, rotation, taking screenshots and so on), lirokoa pointed some commits I'll try with them, but they should do the job. RIL is a priority for me too, but it's quite complex and the code changed a lot so I'll need some time to merge that part.

For RIL, many things are needed and I can't test since I have N8013, but I can point you to some to a repo that might help you:
https://github.com/ArchiDroid/android_frameworks_opt_telephony/commits/cm-12.0
Looks to all SamsungExynos4RIL / Samsung STK commits. That should help.

I'll give it a try because when I tried to merge RIL from omnirom 4.4 I've got an enormous amount of conflicts. Thanks maybe them will speed up the fix

I've written quite big in the third post that you need to flash supersu beta just after the rom or you won't be able to boot into recovery: you've been warned. I'm working on merging the fixes for graphics issues.
By the way I've fixed the stylus input which is working ok now. New version soon....

New version 20141125 out
I've just uploaded a new build. See OP for download links and second post for changelog. Before signaling a bug or something that isn't working, please read the third post, too.
Another bug I've found is in charging off script, please recharge your tablet while on until next release

On my n8013, every time I flash the ROM, then gapps, then superSU, I get a boot loop, never makes it to Omni logo. I tried to redownload all files from the OP, and still no luck. Tried 4 times now

[ROM][GCC4.8][11/10] EternityProject's CyanogenMod 10.2 for HTC One X --FAST!--

Welcome to the EternityProject!
What do we have here?
CM10.2-EPRJ --- Or... EternityProject's CyanogenMod 10.2 build for HTC One X!
Yeah, it's a long time I wanted to make something like that and... I'm proud of this now.
What's the point in using CM10.2-EPRJ?
It contains various optimizations made at compilation time. Moreover, it isn't being compiled with the default Android toolchain, but with a custom one that handles and optimizes the code better.
Is there anything not working?
....Watch at the bugs voice.
Everything is working well, until someone proves that something isn't!
Recommendations:
For achieving the BEST performance on CM10.2-EPRJ, make sure to use our EternityProject Kernel 3.4.37 for HTC One X: I'm developing that ROM always on our kernel and I'll also make this ROM to use the unique features that only our kernel is bringing at the time of writing this (04/08/2012).
Can I use a non-EternityProject Kernel on CM10.2-EPRJ?
For now, it's possible. Absolutely.
Features:
- All the standard CM10.2 Features are enabled
- New, custom toolchain for improved code optimization and better performance
- More to come
EPRJ-SleepLock (LP Lock)
Start by firing up a terminal (Terminal emulator or ADB), then.. here's how to use it:
Activate LP lock: echo "1" /sys/eprjmanager/power_lock
Deactivate LP lock: echo "0" /sys/eprjmanager/power_lock
Changelog:
Code:
20131008:

Screenshots can be found following the download link.
How-To:
1. Copy the CM10.2-EPRJ and GApps packages on your internal memory
2. Flash CM10.2-EPRJ, then flash GApps
3. Make a complete wipe (erase cache and userdata)
4. Flash the kernel package
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy!
If you have WiFi problems, make sure you've flashed the latest EternityProject Kernel for CM10-EPRJ prior complaining!
Do I have to make a full wipe if coming from a previous version of this ROM?
Usually, you only have to wipe your CACHE, unless specified.... but I can't assure you at 100% that you won't have any problem. You shouldn't, but we're living in a world where the only sure thing is that sooner or later we will d.. ehm... understood?
Various:
- Have you got any problem? That's probably because you didn't do a SUPER-UBER-WIPE when coming from CM10/10.1 or Sense.
So, what to download?
You'll find everything here: EternityProject Website
Important: Flash our kernel AFTER flashing the ROM!
Hey, and what about GPL?
Search on my GIT: HERE
Or on our new self-hosted GIT: http://pubgit.eternityproject.eu
Thanks to:

That said, enjoy!

Awesome, Thanks!
awesome!!!!!!!:good:
Cheers for this, downloading as I type (download seems rather slow though, 40min remaining bu I guess your server may be getting hammered at the moment?)
I'll report back.. thanks again
first page!! Congrats on new rom
No bugs sounds good to me! Right onto it! No need to flash boot.img???
@StomUK
Yeah, it is... and also, the downloadserver isn't that much fast. You should anyway be able to download at 400KB/s with normal load usually....
@KLUVJ
Thanks!
@sottyc
If you've flashed one of the EternityProject Kernels listed on the download page... no, you don't need to flash the boot.img found in the CM ZIP!

If you are already running his latest kernel then I am assuming that you won't need to flash the new boot image, otherwise yes, you will need to do that also (personally I just reflash boot images and roms each time anyway to make sure that they are running as the developer has created them for finding bugs (or hopefully not finding bugs!))
No bugs !No freezes !That to on 3.4 kernel!!Brilliant !This might overshadow the new HTC release!!!

Did u do a superwipe before flashing?
can anyone help me how to flash the kernel in mac?
i typed sh flash_osx.sh in the terminal but it doesn't flash even tho' i get a series of text saying its complete.. but full of errors..
thnx in advance.
I believe if you put some cool screenshots you will have more downloads
and also a feature list is mandatory
sounds nice; unfortunately the additional fixes, which are necessary for being able to build this, aren't given in your sources. device, vendor and kernel tree aren't sufficient for compiling. you can make a list with these fixes pls? *g*
So, if you say there a no bugs...you've fixed all the stuff which is not working on the other CM10 roms?
- Occasional soft-reboots with GPS On + Facebook ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2184 )
- WiFi direct doesnt work
- MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
- No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works from market (it's commercial!)
- USB storage copies slower than normal
- Some paid apps loses settings/acconts due to this android jellybean problem: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880 Solution is to backup with Titanium Backup and restore to internal memory, not to sd

1) Let the rom be installed and after setting up everything that it may be required from you (your google account?), wait for a while and then reboot the tablet.
2) Once the reboot is completed go to Settings-> Apps and from there navigate to the "Running" TAB. Once there please report the "USED" amount (it would be like "700MB used", or sth like this).
Thanks.
Latest update: 11082014 2.30pm EST
Thank you bonuzzz and Valera1978. This OmniROM directly built from source is out of the box the smoothest and reactive ROM I've seen on the T-900. I have been fortunate to run this version in alpha and beta over the past 4 or 5 days and I have not seen any extraordinary issues with the release.
Note for v.2 - Be very patient in flashing v2, from that system format starts in TWRP until extraction kicks in there's currently a delay of up to 3 minutes
Just as under the SM-P900 cm11 tread, I have performed some functionality testing of the device and some extra features, they are shown below as working, not working or not tested. The functionality grid was developed based on weaknesses in earlier AOSP builds and ports for the large format Samsung Tab/Note Pro family:
- mtp - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/ activated. Check mark USB debugging notify.
- adb
- External SD - working out of the box
- Ext4 SD card mounting on external SD - Auto-mount does not work, tested on Sandisk 128Gb SD
- USB OTG including USB storage
- Off-mode charging
- Encryption tested on backup restore in TWRP 2.8.1.1 restore failed in data, but must be related to a TWRP error Encryption process in ROM takes about an hour to perform, if someone is interested in performing the test and report back it would be great, but theoretically it should work.
-----------------------------------------
- Lid sensor
- IR blaster - worked by using IR 2.0
- OC settings - located in Settings/Performance/ if you click the 3 dots in upper right corner you can chose a toggle, or a drawer mode where a multitude of performance settings and information is available, most of them are currently not used.
- Advanced reboot - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/. Check mark Advanced reboot.
- Screen rotation specific issue with T-900
-----------------------------------------
- Play Store
- Google Play movies download and playback
- Google Play streaming Movies & TV
- DRM - tested with Audible, Google Books and Amazon Kindle
-----------------------------------------
- Zona
- Popcorn Time - need upgrade to latest version 2.3 beta, includes built-in VPN and Chromecast support with subtitles, earlier version timed out
- YouTube 1080p playback - 1440p will work w. v5.9.0.12, but I believe this to be a false positive.
- Netflix
-----------------------------------------
- Chromecast with #MirrorEnabler hack, allowing for screen cast
- MHL connector
- Miracast
-----------------------------------------
- Capacitive lights - I assume this is the backlights for the capacitive buttons
- Capacitive keys
- Home button - correct function performed
- Brightness manual + auto
- Vibrator
- S-Pen according to OP only available on P-900
-----------------------------------------
- GPS lock and voice directed navigation
- WiFi both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz are working
- Bluetooth
- Microphone
- Audio on both speakers
- Headphones
-----------------------------------------
- Camera - in progress; the camera "works", but does not allow for single shots to be taken, and crashes in video mode, but panorama shots are working
- Torch as of v2
- Camera Sensors as of v2
-----------------------------------------
- Xposed Framework and modules - need re-initialization after each boot (common to all AOSP ROM's)
- Superuser - installation of latest flashable version SuperSU through TWRP is recommended - make sure to enter into SuperSU settings and execute "Install SuperSU backup script" under the CUSTOM ROM label before re-flashing a ROM update.
- Hangouts Dialer phone calls via Hangouts
-----------------------------------------
The following are standard limitations and options for OmniROM:
Write access to your external SD-card works out of the box, but just in case i suggest to d/l JRummy's SD KitKat Fixer
init.d support also works out of the box, otherwise d/l Uni-init by Ryuinferno.
If you think to much heat is building up use Performance/Governor set to ondemand, or conservative and I/O Schedduler to bfq, in addition to increase battery time you can set Wi-Fi/Advanced/Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep/ to Only when plugged in and make sure the Wi-Fi/Advanced/Wi-Fi optimization/ is checked and reduce Display/Sleep/ to below 1 minute. You can also use some apps to improve battery eg Easy Battery Saver, or the more sophisticated AutoCon+ Save Battery & Data and and to put hanging apps to hibernation Greenify that I believe require Xposed Installer. To improve charging time, you can use an app eg Faster Charger. Finally, I have also used PurePerformances in order to further improve the performances and VIPER4AndroidFX to allow for louder speaker sound and enhanced listening experience.

1.1Gb RAM used, but I'm running MultiROM, besides that I had only installed SuperSU and Pico gapps, I have exactly the same usage displayed with cm11.
IR port is working. Tested with smart ir
flip cover is working also
I dont understand issue with screen rotation

The screen doesn't automatically rotate when turning the device, although I have automatic rotation enabled in System/Display/ with values 0/90/180/270. However, with some apps a forced rotation arrive that turn the screen from landscape to portrait, after this the screen stay in portrait until another app trigger a turn to landscape. Anyway, blocking the screen in landscape, or in portrait with the apps I mentioned in my post works perfectly well, but it's a forced rotation, not automatic. It could be device specific? - note issue only concern T-900, not P900/901
I retested IR and Lid and they worked when flashing the ROM with TWRP 8.2.1.1. This was either a glitch, or the fact that I flashed in MultiROM.

download please z-device test https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zausan.zdevicetest and send me screenshot of his report
multirom in current state uses kernel from primary rom in additional roms. Concerning screen rotation, I think it is specific for t900 and I'll solve it in next release.

That kernel use can explain some of the oddities I've experienced.
On the T-900 I had the screen rotation issues as well, along with other users, so I believe it's a T900 issue. It works with stock ROM though. Also, I just forwarded some screen shots.
Hey guys thanks for yet an other custom rom you sure have been working hard! I did some reading about this omnirom and i conclude imo it is prefereable to cyan, is valeria working only on omni now i noticed she released a new cm. Thanks again looking forward to next release.
Hi friends, I wanted to thank you for bringing OmniRom to the Note Pro 12.2.
I will be sure to install it this coming weekend when I have some time
I'm currently on CM and it's very nice, but I like the idea of Omni being truly open source.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Ok I was excited when OmniROM was originally announced but honestly that was mostly because of the multi window stuff the is now available via Xposed. How is Omni better than CM? I have to say I have the CM build on my tablet and it's exceptional, can't believe it's this good when the Note 12.2 just recently become supported. Is Omni really noticeably faster/smoother?

My experience running the beta release that even at this stage it is already faster and smoother than cm-11. Try it and and you can tell directly by the screen transitions, and this is just the beginning. But the reason for OmniROM is more flexibility, it's a true AOSP ROM, meaning there's a lot more flexibility in deploying the code, than under cm that start loosing its freedom in development under a corporate flag. Besides, Omni is already better prepared for this, you can see this in it's deployment of the OmniSwitch as well as other features, eg. under the performance tab, where OC, undervoltage and other settings, and there is more...
However, the best way is to try it out and judge for your self.
On the other hand, if you really want to read up about it, check out this article

I don't believe it is implemented. But, the split view feature in the video exist as the xposed module: XMultiWindow. This was Omin's first release of the multi-window feature, and the development is still ongoing for a more feature packed floating window solution. See for example this concept idea.

[ROM][MAGURO][5.1.1][SaberMod] SlimLP 5.1 (Build 12/25)

Hi guys,
I'm trying to learn something about Android, GIT and Linux, and best way to do so is getting my hands dirty.
As a Slim user I'm playing a bit with with SlimROMs, and since they dropped support for our device, I'm sharing with you my builds.
FAQs:
SlimLP 5.1:
Q: Is SlimLP stable enough for daily use?
A: If you don't mind the issues reported bellow, yeah, it is.
Q: Can I use another kernel?
A: Yes, of course. Just be sure it includes new PVR drivers.
Q: Are RRO Overlays supported?
A: Yes.
Q: Is F2FS supported?
A: Yes, you can use F2FS as FS for data/ and cache/
Q: Is Xposed working on this ROM?
A: Yes.
SlimKAT:
Q: Is this SlimKAT build different from OFFICIAL?
A: It's just SlimKAT "stock", you will notice no difference between this and official. It's built with Linaro and has some optimizations under the hood.
Q: Is it really faster/smoother?
A: I would say YES, but I can't guarantee over placebo effect, so I will just say that I've got a slightly better average score [~7-8%] in Antutu Benchmarks, for what it's worth. Let me know guys.
Q: Is F2FS supported? A: Nope. You have to use this tool and a kernel that supports F2FS.
Q: Will you...
... update this ROM? A: r2 is already up to date with official.
... publish a changelog? A: Yes. See next post.
... push more tweaks and switch to new PVR? A: I hope so. I would like to say "I will update ALL THE THINGS" but as an engineering student I can't really promise I will.
Q: What kind of optimizations? A:
SlimKAT is built with Linaro 4.8.3 [2014.04]. -O3, LTO, C++11 and strict aliasing are enabled.
Built-in Kernel is compiled with with Linaro 4.9.3 [2014.11] optimized for ARM Cortex-A9. Anyway, it is built from official source and has no enhancement, so I highly recommend you use a custom kernel for better performances and battery life.
Thanks:
Really HUGE thanks to @MWisBest, @Ziyan and to everyone who is working on SlimROMs.

SlimLP: [what is NOT working yet - the most are common to all Lollipop (5.0 and 5.1) based ROMs]
There's still a small band on the bottom of recorded videos;
Do you have an issue with your device? Here's How to Report an Issue or a Bug:
Please, before reporting any issues take these few steps. Many of the bugs are NOT caused by the ROM itself.
Are you sure you installed the right Gapps package? If not, flash SlimLP one.
Have you recently installed (or updated) any app or Xposed module? If so, uninstall or disable it.
Disable Xposed.
Are you using stock kernel?
Have you dirty flashed over your previous installation?
5.1 requires a factory reset if coming from 5.0 or older.
Still got the issue? Take a logcat and a dmesg and attach them to your report.
Screenshots are welcome if you think they might help.
Keep in mind that "MY GNEX IS LAGGY!!!" is NOT a useful bug report.

Hey guys, I'm uploading r2 right now.
I'm sorry it took so long but I had to fix some bugs and each one required at least one clean build.
I tried to build with SaberMod 4.8.5, I got slightly better performances but had sudden reboots enabling WiFi, so I had to revert to Linaro 4.8.3.
LinkTimeOptimization is now enabled (for real). Video playback is fine, video recording should, too.
Changelog is now available in post #2.

This ROM is still KitKat based and doesn't use new GPU drivers, so yeah, camera and offline charging are working.
CM12 and FML are based on Lollipop instead.

Thank you for this amazing work.

please don't forget to add the torch tile in quicksettings.
thanks

Everything should be already up to date since r2. I'll let you know.
I forgot to re-add torch, my bad. :|
Atm I'm working on Lollipop, I got it booting right now (you see my avatar? well, that's an actual picture of me) using @bsmitty83's FML beta-3 kernel.
The one I'm compiling won't work. I've got several logs, I hope I'll figure out what's wrong with it.
Audio is working fine, data too (on edge, I can't test HSDPA atm as I've got a very weak signal at my home), Camera2 doesn't save any picture, ...
BUT HEY, IT'S SLIMLP ON MAGURO!
Thanks again to @MWisBest, @Ziyan and @freshgiammi.
----- Edit
I heard you like test builds, so I'm uploading this one. I have to study for my exams and I don't think I'll work on it anymore for today.

SlimLP should, but SlimKAT r2 doesn't support F2FS, you have to use poo706's tool. I'll add f2fs support in r3, I think.
Edit:
Errata corrige, I didn't add f2fs support in device tree. You'll have to wait for next builds. However, keep in mind that adding f2fs support is not my priority. I have to get kernel working and try to help with camera.
New build is up.
Changelog:
- Built-in kernel is now working. Overclock is not enabled.
You can use another kernel, of course. Just be sure the one you're going to flash includes new PVR drivers (eg bsmitty83's betas).
- Stock camera is now saving pictures (YEEEEEEEEEEEEE!), unless you switch flashlight toggle on in notification drawer. If so, you probably need to reboot and\or clear camera cache in Settings > Apps > Camera;
- Now using same toolchains as SlimKAT, check first post;
- Synced up with SlimLP repos;
What's not working yet:
- Video recording and video playback.
- Offline charging
- If you boot while in airplane mode you will be prompted to enter your PIN and won't be able to unlock your SIM. You should manage to disable airplane mode before being prompted for it.
- More common to all LP builds and not. If you find more, please, let me know.
Edit: I made a mess with download links, please check you're downloading test build 2.

New build is up.
Changelog:
- Built-in kernel is now working. Overclock is not enabled.
You can use another kernel, of course. Just be sure the one you're going to flash includes new PVR drivers (eg bsmitty83's betas).
- Stock camera is now saving pictures (YEEEEEEEEEEEEE!), unless you switch flashlight toggle on in notification drawer. If so, you probably need to reboot and\or clear camera cache in Settings > Apps > Camera;
- Now using same toolchains as SlimKAT, check first post;
- Synced up with SlimLP repos;

I mean that flashlight toggle in notification drawer (check this gif) is not working and will break camera until reboot.
Flashlight is working in camera.
Some of the photos I took last night look slightly yellowish. I can't really say, I'm going out and I had to restore SlimKAT as I need everything working :/
You're welcome.

Actually, these builds are not meant for daily use, but they're stable enough if you don't mind the issues in post #1. Make a full nandroid backup before flashing.
We're trying to get everything working, so yes, camera will get better, of course.

ROM UPDATED May 19, 2015 [ROM] LP 5.1 Resurection-Remix Hardened Unofficial

Rom updated on May 19. This is LP 5.1 release 2. Latest Google/CM/Resurrection sources + all hardened features. Plus cleaned IP addresses (got rid of Google, Level 3 communication, AT&T, Orange, Department of Defense and other shady ips). Also enabled is Volte (enhanced LTE), which is Voice over LTE. This depends on the service provided by your carrier. In the States, for example, T-Mobile provides such services, which include high definition voice. Usually, you need special update done by the manufacturer in conjunction with your carrier. This rom does not need that. Your Z1 is already provisioned for Volte. You will see in Mobile Settings another entry: Enhanced 4g LTE Mode. ALso, in test menu/phone (*#*#4636#*#*), you will see a Volte Provisioned Flag. So, as soon as your carrier starts Volte, you are all set.
Sources are the same...

Rom updated to latest sources on May 4. In addition to regular hardened features, more than 40 instances of Google IP, Level 3 Communication and Department of Defense IPs removed from sources both for IPV4 and IPV6. The same is replaced with Opendns IP. Keep in mind that those ips go not only in configuration files, but libs also and the latter cannot be decompiled and fixed...

Here is Resurection Remixed Lollipop hardened and secure. Built from sources on February 24.
Changes:
First of all, as many know, encryption on lollipop slows down the device to almost unusable. I was able to resolve that. The culprit was Qualcom crypto module and drivers that collide with graphics. In this rom, when you encrypt your device, there is no noticeable slow down at all. Your master encryption key is no longer stored in crypto module (which rumor has it is backdoored anyway), but rather hashed and salted on the drive itself.
1. Modified kernel to disable creepy SElinux and enable Tomoyo security. Now you can safely use Xposed framework and some modules such as Xprivacy, Appsettings and ShowDialpad, as well as many others
2. Modified kernel to disable qualcom module and drivers
3. Disabled creepy qualcom random number generation and enabled all other methods
4. Enabled 256 bit AES drive encryption as opposed to Google's default 128 bit
5. Enabled all ciphers and hashes available in kernel and disabled by default (thanks Sony and Google)
6. Latest CM changes
7. Omniswitch (to be flashed separately after flashing the rom)
Maybe more
INSTALL:
1. Be on Kitkat, rooted with CWM or TWRP
2. Enter Recovery, wipe System, Data, Cache
3. Flash the rom
4. Flash Omniswitch
5. Reboot and enjoy
If you want to encrypt your device, you need to do 2 additional steps before or after encryption. Go to Developer Options and enable "Force GPU rendering" and "Disable HW overlays. Yes, you have to enable (not disable) "Disable HW overlays" option. The latter won't stick after reboot. So, manually transfer the attached init.d script to /system/etc/init.d and set permissions to at least 744. This way the option will be set at boot and you won't have any noticeable slowdown. In fact, I don't see any difference in speed between encrypted and non encrypted device.

So just need to look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/rom-official-cyanogenmod-12-nightlies-t3007118 is that right?

This ROM will maintain root and recovery, right?
I'll flash and let you know if I find any other issues.
Tried it. Works great. Some strange problem with mms though. Could not load them even though data works perfectly. Battery life looks great. Didn't try calling so i can't say anything about the mic.

Well. The first version had 69 downloads. The latest one had 20. Other than the bogus claim about camera foreclosing (by someone who has Xperia Z3) there were no reports of problems. I have been using this rom for about 10 days without any problems...

[ROM][AOSP][6.0/7.1/8.1 RC/9.0 BETA] Unlegacy Android Project

The Unlegacy Android ProjectIntroduction
Unlegacy-Android started out as the OMAP4-AOSP Project. It was created in late 2015 in order to maintain a clean and organized place for pure AOSP support for various OMAP4 devices, such as the Galaxy Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 series. Over time this evolved to support more than just these devices, but still maintains its roots of supporting "legacy" devices that no longer receive "official" updates: hence Unlegacy Android was born. In our opinion, these ROMs are how the official updates would look.
On top of AOSP, we only include changes which are necessary to support the hardware, be secure, and get acceptable performance. Current features for hammerhead include:
BFQ IO scheduler (official kernel 3.4 release), set up so GUI processes have the highest priority
Volume button wakeup (setprop persist.wm.volume_wake_screen 1)
Last upstream (kernel/msm) hammerhead kernel tag merged
Charging LED control (setprop persist.sys.led_on_charger 0)
Enhanced backlight map for lower min brightness
Night display blue light filter (GLES-based)
KCAL & PCC color temperature interfaces
Other security patches & minor bug fixes
F2FS support from K4.4 backports
SELinux in Enforcing mode
Installation
It's important that /system needs to be unmounted before installing the ROM - some recoveries tend to leave it mounted after performing operations on it.
If you're planning to install GApps, be sure to read the second post.
Aside from these, installation and upgrading is no different than on other ROMs.
Problems
No known issues on Nougat builds
See post #3 for Oreo/Pie notes
If you notice anything, be sure to report it in this thread. Stability is our main concern. While it may takes some time, I usually read the thread and acknowledge the bug reports, even if I don't reply directly to them.
Downloads
See: http://builds.unlegacy-android.org. Our automated builds ensure that we always have the latest Android security patches merged in, without having to manually start and upload builds
Also, we'll have a built-in OTA updater (just like stock) soon (it's a work in progress).
Features?
There isn't much to say here - this is AOSP, if you install GApps, you pretty much get the same thing that's running on the Nexus devices (see second post). The aim of this project is to create a fast and stable ROM, as close to AOSP as possible without diminishing usability. Occasionally, small non-AOSP features may be implemented, provided there is a clear need and they make sense on hammerhead.

GApps
If you want to install GApps, we recommend micro packages on N builds (e.g., Open GApps), and pico otherwise.
An important note: as this is a pure AOSP ROM, installing GApps tends to be problematic: in order to try to avoid installation issues, be sure to install GApps immediately after installing the ROM, before booting the system for the first time. If you experience any issues with the Google applications, be sure to go into Settings -> Apps, and grant every permission to every Google application - most importantly, Google Play services.
In the case of an upgrade, be sure to re-install the GApps package, as upgrading wipes /system. You shouldn't need to re-set the permissions afterwards.
Stock-like setup
Disable the following built-in (AOSP) apps:
- Android keyboard (once you installed Gboard)
- Browser
- Calculator
- Camera
- Clock
- Email
- Gallery
Install the following apps from the Play store:
- Google Photos (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.photos)
- Calculator (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calculator)
- Chrome (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome)
- Clock (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.deskclock)

- Gmail (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gm)

- Google Camera (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera)
- Google Now Launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher)
Rooting
You can flash the latest SuperUser (phh's open source fork), Chainfire's SuperSU, or Magisk to get rooted.
Oreo/Pie Status & CAF Notes
Oreo 8.1 builds are almost bug-free at this point, but still tagged as experimental. While last issues are sorted out, I will trigger manual builds, also published at https://builds.unlegacy-android.org/aosp-8.1/hammerhead.
To my knowledge, these are the remaining issues:
Bluetooth HFP speaker (mono/SCO) output is garbled. This seems related to a more general issue with audio effect/ACDB blobs.
Once all visible issues are fixed, and stability is comparable to Nougat builds, I'll switch on official builds on our Jenkins server.
Pie 9.0 builds are also becoming fully usable. Current builds have the same one remaining HFP bug described above.
Beyond "official" experimental builds, I post personal builds (including CAF experiments) in the hammerhead folder here.
Regarding sources for the WIP CAF kernel-based builds, see https://github.com/airend/android_kernel_lge_hammerhead/commits/tmp/caf+113+common. Corresponding device tree is still in rough shape and not uploaded yet, but assuming everything goes well, it'll replace current device tree when it's ready.
I've used the 05/04 build for 2 days a few weeks ago and it was a great rom.
The only issue I came across back then was that it has the green flickering when recording videos.
It's nice that the project has a XDA thread now and I gonna test this rom asap.
Thanks for keeping our good old Nexus 5 up to date.

Should be fixed on current builds (both green bar, and Google Camera flickering).
have a volume wake option?
Does it have issues with network location (Battery saver location)?
Some AOSP-based ROMs have this issue, so many apps (Chronus, Google Fit, f.lux, Instagram) can't get location.

Cant Install Gapps
I've flashed it for about half a day, and it's very promising, it seems a great ROM!
I've noticed only three defects:
- The blue light filter (Night mode) is missing;
- With stock kernel, SuperSU will be in system mode;
- The Clock app crashes if you try to add another Time zone in the main screen.
Everything else works fine.
