[Q] Bootloader Allowed No, but yes. - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. My Xperia Z1 Compact has Bootloader Unlock allowed: No. However, if I try to fastboot (volume up while connecting to PC), the device’s LED light turns into Blue.
I read somewhere that this means I actually CAN unlock the bootloader. Is it safe to try?
Thank you!

You can't unlock if says "no", you will hard brick your phone if you flash a custom kernel or a Custom ROM for unlocked bootloader
Enviado desde mi Z1 Compact

Hello, Meloferz! Thanks for replying! Well, I don't want to flash any custom kernel, I only want to get Sony's firmware updates, because my phone has an audio Bug, which has been fixed by Sony since March. My carrier told me they would not release any software update for this model, so I would like to let the phone update...
thanks in advance!!

I'm sure you don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash stock firmware

One last question... Is it enough to get the same language firmware (spanish)? Or does it need to be one for my specific country/carrier (Perú/Movistar)? Because, I've got their latest fw installed, but that's not the one that fixes my audio bug.

[Q] Root for .253 Update ?

Hi,
I hope I'm posting on the right section. I'ld like to root my .253 ZL. I did install the update from scratch with SUS. With it root from .434 went away. Is there any method to root the .253 in a classic way without downgrading or something like this ?
Thanks !

Hey guys.
My friend just bought the Xperia E(single).
The BL is locked.
But she want's to run CM, or any AOSP rom.
I don't find a perfect answer for me.
I find, we can root E with locked bl, but can't flash recovery, so can't flash rom.
Am I right?
So no chance to have AOSP rom on E with locked BL ?

you need the new bootloader in order to flash the recovery.
for that, use EMMA and select the new TA

Xperia T3: Need Advise for installing most latest & stable custom Rom
Hi,
Greetings!!
Please help!
Can anyone advise me for the most latest & stable custom Rom for Xperia T3 D5103 with step by step guide.
If FXP Team is the answer, then which is the best one to consider "AOSP by FXP - Android 6.0 - AOSP_M_160717_seagull.zip" or "CM 12.1 by FXP - cm-12.1-20150715-UNOFFICIAL-seagull.zip" or other older versions.
Currently running stock Rom 4.4.4 build 18.1.A.2.25
Sorry, if my English is bad.
Positive & prompt reply will be appreciated.
Many Thanks

It becomes more interesting to me, I am looking for something to improve my Samsung Note 3 without ruining my pockets, and this Sony is one of the best candidates
EDIT: Well, what I see on Sony web is the XA1 and XA Ultra, not the XA1 Ultra.
But, maybe XA1 and XA1 Ultra have same bootloader?

It should work even you take XA1. That is why they need IMEI number to sort out. I just download the kernel source and need some info to build custom recovery. I successfully build kernel.

Sorry, but I don't understand you very well.
Do you mean : 1. We can take XA1 method for XA1 Ultra?
2. Do you have a XA1 or XA1 Ultra, and you have downloaded the kernel sources, so you can build a custom recovery?
This would be a great news for me... even if I don't get the phone yet.

I mean you can choose xa1 from the list and continue the process/ steps to unlock the bootloader. I ordered XA1 ultra and waiting for shipping. Regarding to kernel yes.. I downloaded the kernel source and build a kernel .. I am going to build TWRP recovery. But to do that I need some information etc to start working with custom recovery.
After 4 days working. I am now enjoying my XA1 ultra. Rooted+my own kernel build from source and even with working custom recovery twrp. :good:

Would unlocking the bootloader have any impact on the phone such as high image noise/poor image quality?
If not, what are the negatives of unlocking the bootloader?
Previously on my old Xperia Z2, unlocking the bootloader removes image enhancements and introduces noise in the camera...
I don't find the XA1 Ultra under the bootloader unlock list either. What model do I choose from the list - the XA1?

The only way to update is by using flashtool to manually update. However, you will need to root once again after updating using the same method as before.
Also, to update via flash tool, you will need to get hold of the FTF file to update.

Same here. Is yours by any chance also a Canadian unit? Perhaps they're being inexplicably locked here. (Mine is from Wind/Freedom, and the service menu lists the bootloader as not allowed to be unlocked)
