[Q] having kindle library but not purchase powers? - Amazon Fire Phone

Is there any way to have the cake and eat it too?
i want to be able to use a firephone with my amazon account for reading my kindle library and managing the phone, etc.
but i don't want to be able to log in as my account on amazon.com via the browser nor purchase apps.
is this possible? i'm i could do it by adding it as a child account... but it baffles me how to do it... i managed to create a child account on amazon but there is nothing on the phone to enable it as a child's device.

Unfortunately, Kindle FreeTime child profiles don't work on the Fire Phone yet. You might be able to do what you want by just installing the Kindle Reader for Android app, plus also disable In-App Purchasing in settings on the phone and disable One-Click Ordering for the phone.

Best way to gift Fire TV Stick you have setup with sideloaded apps?

I bought a bunch of FireTV Sticks for Xmas gifts. I only opened one, installed update and used my Amazon account. I sideloaded a bunch of apps like XBMC, IPCamViewer, etc.
I would like to gift these but deregister my Amazon account with them. What happens to the FireTV stick when I deregister and the gift recipeint register with their Amazon account? Do my Amazon paid apps like Plex disappear? Do Sideloaded apps stay?
Thanks.

When you de-register, all the apps stay on the device. Both sideloaded ones and official amazon apps. However, none of the Amazon apps will be accessible from the home screen unless the new user's Amazon account has also purchased them. All apps from the previous account will be accessible from the Settings > Manage Apps menu.

[Q] Can You Still ACcess Amazon App Store if it is rooted?

Hello guys, I am a tech-savvy momma here and I was wondering if I can be able to access the App Store from my Amazon FTV? I wanted to get Classic TV on there so that I can install ILama so I can be able to see my sideloaded apps on the home screen. I bought my Amazon FTV from a guide that roots them for you. His account's name is under his name but if I change it to my account, it being under his account, would that mess up everything??? I need help with this asap! Thanks!

You can change the login to your name. However if he has any of his purchased app from amazon such as AirDLNA. those will have to be repurchased and re-installed on your firetv. You can surely still access the amazon app store.
That means also I'm able to still access my 3rd party apps like xbmx/kodi?
Yea! I was able to deregister from another account to mine and still had all my apps! Now I'm able to get more apps and still see my side loaded apps still on there + was able to use llama to get xbmc to show up on the hone screen using Classic TV! That's so cool! I wonder can you use another TV app to open xbmc in?

Even purchased apps stay, however when you change your login, the purchased app will send you a popup that you are not licensed to use the app. That's what happened with the Airplan DLNA app when I changed the login. The Sideloaded apps stay just fine, regardless of the Amazon message stating that you will loose your settings.

Deregistering - Registering

I cannot find the answer to this anywhere. So, I have set up Amazon fire TV stick, registered with my Amazon account, downloaded apps, and sideloaded apps from computer, including adding some things to kodi, and added icons. But now someone who has Amazon prime (I don't) has said I can log into their account so I can watch free prime video. My question is, if I deregister from my Amazon account on the AFT, and log into the other one, will I lose everything on the tv? I'm not worried about the apps, but the sideloading I found very complicated? I won't do it until I hear, as I'm not sure I can go through all of that again right away!!!
You shouldn't lose the apps you sideloaded. They are invisible to your Amazon account anyway.

But you will lose the apps you downloaded from Amazon via your account.
I think he was only interested in the stuff he sideloaded.
By the way, not sure if deregistering your account effectively resets your unit. If it does, you may need to reinstall/sideload your apps. But if the apk are on the unit already, that should not be hard. You just need to install a file manager from the Amazon app store like es file Explorer.

Fix for Amazon Video for Android

Okay, I am lazy so I cut and pasted my review on Amazon about their video app not working on my Note 8.0.
So here we go!
UPDATE! I figured out how to properly install the app without any issues... boy Amazon screwed the pooch with making all standalone compnents rely on underground authentication. Seems that Kindle is the main culprit, so this is my fix.
Remove kindle app and do a fresh install of underground. Then on a pc login to your account and remove your previous android device or all of them as every time you start clean with a new login you create a new device. I had 8 of them! Geezo! Then go a head and install the video app. Once done contact amazon and have them transfer your prime subscription over to a new amazon account for your prime videos. Once the new account is made with prime, start the video app and select other account. Login to your new account with prime, and your done. If you already logged in with the old account, log out and login again with the prime account.
To use kindle don't... I really really mean it. DONT USE PLAY STORE! Download the Amazon version of Kindle or the Samsung version from Samsung. They are both the same version, just samsung has a white background with free monthly books. Login to kindle with your kindle account. This way you have segregated kindle from video authentication.
The Google version as it is released in a higher version than the others, and breaks the video app. Once the video app is broken you must uninstall kindle and the video app, cross fingers and reinstall video app. If the app fails then uninstall video app and underground. Then install underground and video app. Geezo! Yes it is a crummy app if you have kindle already installed, if you don't then it seems to load and run just fine from the get go.
Had to uninstall because I was cleaning up for more space and to reset all my accounts along with Google Ads ID. Once I reinstalled the app fails when the red circle starts. So I am SOL with my prime subscription, as I only have a tablet to use the app. I think the developer sets some policies that are not cleared when the app is removed, and when the app is reinstalled it gets hosed. What really sucks is the lack of support to assist, as they expect the app to allow you to get into settings.

Rooted Firestick is asking for Registration

I bought a firestick already rooted and now it is asking me to register with Amazon. It will not let me go to the home page anymore. When I try to register it, it will not allow me...how do i get my firestick working again?? Help!!!!!!
Easy. If you already have an Amazon account. Then log in thru that. If you don't or wish to create one anyway. Create an Amazon account thru a PC/Mac. Just use a web browser. Once you have created & possibly confirmed your account. Log in using that U/P. Nothing major.
You will have to purchase any free apps that where included/installed. For example Netflix, Youtube, Es File Explorer, Hulu, Downloader, etc. These are all Free apps for FireTV's. But the new account you are going to be using will need to have purchased what ever Free apps your FTVS/device had installed before. Those apps have not been deleted. But you need to add those apps to your "new" Amazon account if that account does not already have them as purchased (Even the Free ones must be purchased thru that account) for you to be able to access them. Any sideloaded apps like Kodi, SPMC, AppStarter, etc. Will not be affected by the change of accounts.
Once you are done purchasing your free apps. You might need to run "Settings/My Account/Sync Amazon Content" for all you Apps to show up correctly. It should do it by itself. But doing this manually is an option too.
My fire stick was uhm “clear” I guess you could say and now I have to “log” in to amazon luckily I had an Amazon account so I did that and it’s now also asking me to go to online to Amazon.com/code to get a code before I can even log on my WiFi and get this fire stick to work again what do I do
