Possibly fixed Gapps on Kindle Fire 4.3 r_2.1 rom from Hashcode
JJsevol said:
I never fully solved it and only thing that worked was disable Google services. Some apps require it so it's not a good solution.

Hi All,
I cannot post in the regular forum because I am new.
I flashed the 4.3 rom and gapps to my Kindle Fire per the instructions in the post. I had a problem with gapps continually crashing. I tried reflashing from post #4 that had the r2 version of the 4.3 rom. The link on this post lead me to a page with numerous choices for gapps. The one I downloaded made it worse. I could not get passed the setup wizard because the setup wizard kept crashing. Could not even get to the home screen. I re-flashed the 4.3 r_2 one more time without flashing the gapps and the Kindle Fire booted fine. But without Google Play, the thing is kind of useless because I could not download any apps.
I took a chance and searched Google for ASOP 4.3 gapps. I found this site, but I cannot post links. Hopefully you can find it. www*androidayos*com/2013/10/30/gapps-4-3-1-download/ I flashed this set of gapps and have not had a problem since yesterday. All the gapps have updated to the latest and greatest and I have not had a single crash from them. I new so I'm not sure if this was the fix, but it might be worth a try for someone that has continually crashing gapps on their Kindle Fire with Hashcodes 4.3 rom. I hope this will help someone, it seemed to work for me. Good luck, I like this rom allot better then CM rom I was running that was laggy.

[Q] HELP!! I just can't get electon beam (crt) to work with cm 10.1

I have a rooted kindle fire, I initially use to have a custom rom on it (can't actually remember the roms name now). I enjoyed the beam when the kindle was entering lock screen mode.
But then I switched to GalaxySbean v1.2 (I was impressed with the features it had). But alas I lost the beam!!!
I've googled and search for help but to no avail. I would have posted in the development thread but me being a newbie I wasn't allowed to.
Please help me get my electron beam back! Pleeeeeaaaaaaassssseeee.......
Thanks in advance

I think you had cm10 and not 10.1 . I don't think any cm10.1 based ROM has crt off animation. I personally don't know how to edit the ROM to enable CRT. It might have something to do with the build prop.
But for the most part, your out of luck.

Actually, it's the framework-res.apk. In GB and ICS, you had to decompile, edit a line and recompile. I'm not sure if it's as simple with JB.
RE:
HellFire Jelly Amazon Kindle Fire 1.3 <----- that was my first rom that had electron beam.
Here's the link

I am 100% positive it was jelly bean based.
But while going through the developers thread(GalaxySbean v1.2 my present rom), he made mention of enabling it in one of his updates. But after that he never made mention of it again. So I think its possible.
Here's a link to my present rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103278
I need to post on the forum 8more times before I can post in developers thread.... I would have asked them directly.
I love the GalaxySbean v1.2 rom and I really want to stick to it.
Still waiting for a reply...
Thanks for the quick reply.....
So that is to say that we are gonna get an update to your ROM soon.....
*fingers crossed*

replacing messaging app with TW stock
I love this rom but want to replace the original Messaging app. I want the ability to select multiple messages within a text thread, that is missing from AOSP.
I have a recovery backup and Titanium Backup, but do not know what files to extract and where to put them. Would that even work? Someone please help!
I am using this rom but the AOSP messaging app is missing the ability to delete multiple messages from a thread, so I want to go the Samsung stock app. I have a copy of the stock rom installed right now - is exactly do I need to backup and transfer for this to work?
Thanks!
really appreciate this. I was in panic mode when my modem didn't work. No data, no wifi. The rom itself is just awesome and I was determined to make it work so I started plowing through this thread looking for an answer...which you provided! Glad I started from the back I am so impressed with the buttery smoothness. It didn't perform this well new out of the box. Anyway, thanks a ton.
Q
Does the download package come with GAPPS?
Wifi not working
First of all, love this Mod.. It is super smooth and no issues. However, the only thing that is not working is my WIFI, it keeps turning off immediately after i turn it on. I have no idea how to fix it. Should i try reflashing the ROM again? I did wiped data along with cache before i flashed this ROM. I previously used CM 12.1 . If anyone know how to fix WIFI problem on this ROM, please do message me or better email at [email protected].
ISSUE RESOLVED! Thanks for a super cool ROM
Nowifi
I have a t mobile s3, I rooted, installed your rom now I have no wifi. Any help?
Thanks
Is the phone running the latest modem and bootloader?

Video problems
I love this ROM! It's the only LTE ROM available, but I can't use it due to the video problems. Netflix does not function and I haven't been able to get the workaround to remedy the problem. Also, I can't view videos from the web. Always receive an error message. Lastly, on youtube, I have to set the quality down to view videos. If these problems were resolved, this would definitely be my ROM of choice.
Netflix and Video Problems
This ROM would be perfect if only the Netflix issues (I tried the fix, it didn't work) and other video issues could be worked out. Being the only ROM that has been able to get Bluetooth operable for the LTE version. This would be priceless. Is a Lolipop version of LS coming out any time soon?
Does the LTE work for the LTE version ? Thanks

yep, maybe.
December 8 Build
This build works ok, it keeps soft rebooting. Here's what I did to install. First updated my TWRP to 2.8.1 , then format, system, data, cache, dalvik. Installed ROM, Gapps , Chainfire SU.
It booted quickly. WiFi does not work, but could be because of my 4.1 bootloader. The phone keeps soft rebooting, so I can't keep testing it. Great work.
sorry, i'm using stock rom and install CWM recovery, after i go in recovery mode, i wipe data + cache + system, and try install the rom and Gapp, but im still stuck in the samsung logo and CM bootloader, just looping.

Just loaded the CM 12 onto my Galaxy i9500.
I can seem to change my ringtones and change the volume of app notifications.
Any help?
