Has anyone been able to take this update via OTA or using the LG PC Suite software?? I tried using the PC Suite software and am getting this error "Cannot Proceed Upgrade: Mobile device software upgrade is blocking on no upgrade policy". This is even on a brand new phone that I just got from the T-Mobile store today!!

Thanks for the response! I'm not sure I follow though. Why would I need to do an Upgrade Recovery?? I'm on stock ROM and not rooted or anything. Also, what is the LG Mobile Support Tool?? IS that different than the LG PC Suite software?

Lg mobile support tool is the tool used to upgrade via pc. It is basically pc suite without all the extras. (Backups, media save, etc). It only upgrades the phone software. You would select upgrade recovery if it doesnt automatically upgrade for you or you are on the latest firmware available and need to return to stock..

Thank you!! So if I was getting this error trying to upgrade using LG PC Suite, will I be able to do the upgrade using this tool instead??

You should be able to.

Keep Root
I was on 10M, flashed the zip, modem and SuperSU in TWRP and was able to keep my root. I did have to re-install SuperSU from the Play Store and reset my DPI change but otherwise everything is intact. YMMV of course.

Any thoughts on trying to flash this into a Sprint LG G3? Probably wont work?[QRCODE][/QRCODE]

SuperSu good root
Thank you for this! I too did the OTA update after root. I actually used the lg software tool to do a fresh install of stock 10c so I could use PurpleDrake script. Then installed TWRP.
The very last thing before I rebooted to flash 10r, I uninstalled SuperSu since I wasn't sure if having it would mess up a dirty flash with the SuperSu flashed in the process.
My question is would it be beneficial to do the init.d hack and deodex? Not quite sure what I would need those for, since all I do is normal stuff with the phone. Root was a must for xposed and all the goodness that comes from it.

If you dirty flash over a TWRP rooted 10m do you lose all of your data on internal or external SD and need to restore from backup or does it not? Obviously, I will backup anyway but I'm lazy. Getting pretty tired of the update notification that won't go away. lol

so updating over OTA = locked bootloader?

D851 lollipop rooted stock Rom flashable zip
Just wondering if anyone has developed a pre-rooted flashable version of the new stock TMobile lollipop rom? I believe developer krowley posted a rooted version of the previous. KitKat rom, but there's no word on that post regarding lollipop.
Any updates would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

LG G3 ROM Questions
I bought an LG G3 ATT version and had it unlocked. I want to flash it to the T-Mobile stock rom. Can this be done? If so where do I find the ROM and instructions?

OTA Update for rooted g pad

Has anyone installed the update OTA on a rooted g pad?
Is it safe to do it or it's not possible?

I have seen people reporting problems in other threads here on XDA. Here in the US they haven't yet released the OTA update. If this is anything like my experience with my phone (a GS3). OTA update of a factory rom when rooted often does seem to cause problems. The only device I haven't had problems with taking an OTA when rooted were a Nexus device (Nexus 7) and something running CyanogenMod.

so I have to unroot it first, install update then root again?
I have a related question - how to unroot and install OTA??
I tried to install, but it didn´t work, tablet said there´s no OTA for rooted devices.
I unrooted using SuperSU, but the situation is still the same.

I used the LG Support Tool method which involves putting the tablet into download mode and doing the update recovery procedure in the LG Support Tool. This (after a long download process) should result in a tablet which is identical to what came in the box. (in the US the procedure currently installs 4.2.2). When it finished the download and install, it reboots the tablet, if you then are stuck in a boot loop, simply do the key combination for a factory reset and it then should boot.
The unroot procedure via SuperSU does seem to leave something behind that the OTA still detects...
If you need further details I have another post in one of these threads detailing exactly what I did...

That is what I plan on doing once the US version is released, however it is potentially a little more complicated since I have heard that LG has patched the LOKI vulnerability which means no custom roms or custom recovery until a new boot loader vulnerability is found, or until you revert to the original boot loader instead of the new one in the 4.4.2 release (if possible)...

Nah. You can bet that within 48 hours after the US version is released, there will be a flashable build available with root and recovery.

True, more than likely a flash-able version will exist once someone makes it.
It already has a work around for loki by reinstalling the old aboot

Just do steps 2 and 3.

So i had to flash with lg tool.
I did not lose any data but a bit of time.
My suggestion is to flash with lg tool and then root again.

I think the issue with this procedure is the recovery / bootloader, not the rooting itself. Still, you will most likely end with an unbootable OS. You are better off flashing via recovery a perfectly stock, pre-rooted image, like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2707363

When you use the lg tool (pc software) did it automatically download the kitkat update?
Did you encounter any issue when you used lg tool?

So you did NOT unroot first?
Steps you did were: (with rooted only g pad)
Update via pc lg tool
Root using IOROOT25.zip method
This correct?

I had to click on "recover" Something sorry I have no my PC now.. I left it at work. But I think you'll find.
U got some option and considering lgpad did not boot after update.. I had only one.
It's the procedure that you got to follow after you set gpad in download mode.
No issue at all, just one thing: after rooting you will have to flash a custom recovery if you need, because flashing with lg, flash even lg stock recovery.

No I did not unroot.. But only because I did not think about it. And that's the reason why gpad was not able to boot to system and I had to flash it via lg software.
I set gpad in download mode,,then flash via lg software, root with ioroot and finally flashed with flashify custom recovery
Hope to have helped guys
Now I'll go to sleep!

I updated to version 4.4.2 Via OTA my rooted gpad and not had any problems
Steps:
1- factory reset
2- update via OTA
Attention: I think the rom has to be original (no eliminated sys apps with titanium or other) because it goes check the integrity of the rom (4.2.2)
------------------------------------------------------------ Edit --------------------------------------------------------------------------
3- Rooted with IOroot25
I've done an OTA update on my rooted G Pad, no issues either. I didn't do a factory reset, just did the update.
I updated my rooted v500 2 days ago using LGs PC software. The process took around 45 minutes and resulted in a successful KitKat update, however I no longer have root. I have a few strange issues with random unmounting of the SD card, which happened about 4 times while Play Music was copying 2gig of on device songs to it. I also seem to have lost quiet mode - maybe it's been moved out of the sound settings menu - would appreciate a comment if anyone knows where it is.

Lollipop Update Note 4 developers edition

Just heard that there is a lollipop Update I have the developers edition I got the phone today and I was wondering if I should root and install twrp asap? To prevent automatic updating? I haven't tinkered with roms rooting and twrp in 2 years so I am a little confused. If someone could she'd some light on what to follow I would appreciate it.
I saw droid life's root method should I follow that?

You will not receive an update of any sorts from Samsung or Verizon for your Developer Edition Note 4. Samsung has never updated their Developer Edition devices...never. You most likely will not even receive a notification on your phone that there is an update available. For us Developer Edition users to update to Lollipop we're going to have to wait for a developer to take the factory image (retail firmware) and modify it so that it is safe to flash on a Developer Device without locking the bootloader. The developer will provide this update to Lollipop by means of a ROM which we can flash via TWRP.
WARNING: When the retail versions of the Note 4 does get an update to Lollipop you will start to see threads announcing that factory firmware is available. Do not flash factory firmware on your device unless the OP specifically says it has been modified for the Developer Edition and will not lock your bootloader.
Thanks for clarifying

Thanks for explaining that. I also wanted to know if the cf auto root method is still ok to use from droid life link for dev edition note 4? Thanks again for your time.
You're welcome. My understanding is that it is, but I don't want to guarantee it. I personally recommend using ODIN to install TWRP (custom recovery) and then flashing SuperSU for root. There is a thread with a step by step in Android Development section in this forum.

OK, so I have the ATT V410 tablet, still in factory form. I've been wanting to do more with this and have been doing a lot of research on acquiring root. I would like to install the Skinny ROM onto it and was thinking this might be my solution for root as I don't currently have access to a PC to perform with Purpledrake. So, of course I went through the process of trying to install TWRP first but was unable because Flashify requires root to begin with. So it appears that I'm back to square 1 here... or am I? What I'd like to know is if I can do all this WITHOUT first acquiring Root via Purpledrake and a PC....?

V410 = u4310
I just got a UK410 and I have it rooted with DP Tools and installed TWRP bumped.
My question is: do the V410 rom threads pertain also to the UK410? Can I use a rom for the V410 in the UK410 since they are the same except for carrier. I am not using the LTE phone functions, just as a tablet. When I purchased the UK410, it was listed as WIFI only, which led me to believe it was a V400, but they sent a UK410.
LG 410 stock with functional Stock Lollipop update
Hey there I have finally found a solution to this problem. XDA will not allow me to create a new thread to post it but if you still need it let me know. Basically you will be installing the rooted stock 410 found here on xda, then installing a stock recovery image using simple recovery, and then running ota update. You do loose root on the lollipop update. I have the necessary files and a step by step if you need them.

Did you use lollipop auto-rec to install TWRP. Which will put the proper boot loader, and download with kernel. Then you go to TWRP and install radio and ROM after a wipe.

Cm12 is based on jellybean boot loader.
Lollipop boot loader is on stock.
KitKat is for those on custom stock based pure lollipop code.
I'm hoping I can verify something as to if only lollipop Roms can use the new auto-rec due to something in coding or something else.

Stuck at initial boot
For some reason I can't seem to boot for the first time after flashing. I am stuck on the LG logo waited around half a hour and got nothing.
Tried Re-Flashing it from recovery, doesn't seem to work.

[Q] Clarification of TWRP Install

Sorry for the nooby question. I am a little familiar with rooting and such but have been in Samsung world with TMo for 3 years. I just got an LG G3 (still TMo, D851) that has already been updated to Lollipop v 5.0.1 (v20b). I have found the one-click root by avicohh, so I am comfortable with that. I have read everything I can find and just want to make certain of one thing. Is it correct that we CANNOT flash TWRP while staying on Lollipop? Do I really have to downgrade the software, then root, flash TWRP, and then upgrade back to Lollipop? Thats what I've read but I am hoping someone can tell me that is not true. I need some good news!
Thanks to everyone for the help and support.

No because the 851 variant is the only variant with an unlocked bootloader. You don't have to do anything except get the 851 twrp recovery img and flash it..

Thank you very much for the response. So can I just use Flashify to get current TWRP? (the phone is rooted!)? So the T-Mo bootloader is different than other variants? My confusion comes comes from this quote below...
"I saw a lot of questions of G3 users about how to install Twrp after the root, so I will explain briefly:
For now, if you are on stock lollipop you can't just flash Twrp via flashify etc like the old days in KitKat, but you can follow this guide over here."
that is a direct quote from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951. It is true that that statement came from the General LG G3 forum, not the T-Mo forum. If I can just do Flashify or TWRP Manager and keep on going, that would be great. I guess I don't know exactly how I would flash it? Thanks again. I just need a little more clarification. After a couple years I just figured out Samsung procedures! Now starting over with LG procedures. THANK YOU FOR THE HELP.

Flashify still works in lollipop, I know cause thats how I got TWRP on my device and I have done it more than I can count. But I suggest you go to TWRP's official site and download their latest .img for the D851. Put that on your phone external SD then use Flashify to flash that img. Sometimes flashify does not have the most current TWRP img for the device when you download it through their collection.

Yes sir! Flashify worked great on the D851 with Lollipop installed. Thank you so much. I wish the info out here about the need to downgrade back to KK were a lot clearer. Evidently, T-Mo G3 (D851) users have it best. That info can be tough to find. Thank you for your support. I am good to go now!
