[Q] RQ: Xperia Keyboard 6.4.A.1.52 with emoji apk edited to work w C1905 NO ROOT - Sony Xperia M

Hi! I have the Xperia M C9105 version *with android Jelly Bean 4.3* UNROOTED (Im from Spain) before getting this phone i always wanted to have emoji input in the stock keyboard. Actually i'm using the Pure Android Emoji keyboard, but for using it on Snapchat, it's impossible. And seems that exist an apk of the Xperia keyboard updated w emoji. (I cant install from Play Store). I tried to install this apk: mediafire com/download/5t85fx4yll1tcza/textinput-tng-emoji.apk
from another XDA thread, but when im installing it says. Not installed, and something of a package conflict. I tried to sign w ZipSigner and still doesnt work. I just wondered if changing the package name (if its possible)[from com.example.textinput. [idk what is the keyboard package name] to another package name so it doesnt make conflict w the preinstalled xperia keyboard. *I dont want to delete the preinstalled kb, it would be fantastic to have the emoji one and the preinstalled, bc i dont want to root Xperias (seems to be very dificult))
Anyone can help to edit the apk or give me a solution?? Im so desesperated:crying::crying:

Are you serious? Hard to root?

It only takes 2 taps to thank somebody here.

I know about towelroot but supposedly it doesnt give u full root. If i make the towelroot thing i can install the keyboard update w/out bricking ? And change the font w iFonts?

Someone can edit the apk or give me a no root solution?

Forget TowelRoot.Unlock bootloader using the guides, install a recovery (just choose one),flash SU zip and you're done.
Then flash an Xperia Keyboard zip from the Sony cross development subforum.
Not sent by me.

I know how to unlock bootloader from Sony, tell me how to flash a recovery on my phone, give me a SU zip and tell me how to flash it, and i think i will know how to flash the KB.

ask this in the thread of the rom itself. is more likely to have a answer there
I can not ask there, because i need at least 10 posts to write something in a development forum.
thanks for reply
That's already 2 ;-)

Well if you won't go to the dev, the dev goes to you. I have removed Kies and all Kies related stuff because it was bogging down on the memory.
Sorry =\
hey Kezra, another user, that can't post in DEV forum
is there some way you could give us Swype apk? you removed this keyboard in newest ROM, which is bad for me since I have to use Swype beta and it's not as accurate as normal swype.
You can find all those apps you are asking for here:

I completely forgot about this thread. Thanks a lot mate
Hi, I'm on stock DXKJ5 and want to try this custom ROM out. I know that it's based on EUR ROM. Can I flash the custom ROM right away or should I first flash the stock EUR ROM?
Hi, just another note on this Rom:
I had trouble with my titanium backup, as it tried to restore swipe settings ave as mentioned before swipe is not included. Our ifs not a bug, but be aware that this might cause trouble.

Swype, TW calculator and TW calendar
Hi, I downloaded the .apks of the swype, twcalculator and twcalendar. Of course it wouldn't just install like other normal apps, so I tried to move it directly into the system/app folder.
I just won't move (or copy)! Says that some error ocurred and that it's impossible to move.
The phone has Kezra V3 rom and V6 super charger. It's rooted alright.
I miss swype... and MOST OF ALL, I miss XT9! It seems it just went away with this Version 3. Downloaded Go Keyboard but didn't really liked. The stock gingerbread keyboard with swype and full functioning XT9 is far better.
I'm considering "dowgrading" it to V2 again, I found a working download link somewhere in the V3 thread for it.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

unzip the rom, place all the apps that you want in "system", "app", rezip the rom and flash it again without wipping data in cwm, that should solve your problem

Thanks a lot mate. I'm going to give it a try.
I tried to do this after the rom was flashed, with scrip manager. Just copy the app directly into the /system/app folder, however it didn't work.
I'll post my experiences back.
By the way, do you have any insight on the XT9 issue? It was a must have for touchscreen keyboards... I could live without swype, but XT9 was suppose to work with samsung keyboard... I'm confused with that.

[Q] Missing JapaneseIME

Hi,
Noob here. I've just bought an Xperia Play and found out that I don't have the Japanese Keyboard installed. The Chinese is available, though. Is there any way to install the keyboard without rooting the phone? I would really like to try installing the JapaneseIME.apk and not going the apps route. Its kinda weird my wife's NeoV comes with it.
Thanks in advance

I dont have the IME from the NEO V but I do have it from th X10, your welcome to give it a shot... i this doesnt work or isnt to your liking, do a google search for Xperia NEO V System Dump and you should be able to find the apk for it from the NEO V... and it should install just like an apk, the link below you will need to change the .zip to .apk it should then let you install just like a typical apk, also you should use a file manager, I use root explorer, but you can use something like Astro file manager from the market its free..... let me know if it works...

Enjoy.... also if it works and your happy please hit the "Thanks" button...
You can also install "simeji" from the store. It's free and works great, just have to activate the keyboard and tweak it to your liking.
thanks

New Xperia Themes Won't Install

Hi,
- Nothing appeared in the search above when creating the thread
- I seen a few comments about this in different threads, but nothing specific so thought it was worth it's own thread
The new Xperia themes won't install for me. As soon as I click Sony select, it shows me either one of two screens (with different themes) and none of them install. Either I click download then I get the error "app not installed" or on Google Play I see "incompatible device".
I do not have root on 4.3 as my bootloader is locked, so I cannot put the new apks in system/app. Besides, this should be working correctly without the user havint to go to extreme methods for a change of look.
Do many others have this problem? Any way to get around it?

going to /system/vendor/overlay/ and delete android-res.apk

If you scroll down a bit, you can see that the problem can be fixed by deleting /system/vendor/overlay/android-res.apk. (Backup on SD just in case)
Follow up by a reboot and you're done. Tested it myself.
