No replacement charging dock is available - Asus ZenWatch

I've had the watch for a couple of weeks and I like it. I changed the provided leather band as I didn't like the clasp that folded the band over itself and with the clasp it really thickened the band. I installed a Spidel expansion band which is great (for me).
The charge time is fairly short. Gets to below 10% in around 14 hours.
My concern is that there is currently no replacement charging dock/cradle available. If I travel & inadvertently leave the dock at the hotel or I lose it somewhere I'm SOL. I contacted their customer "tech" support and was advised that they don't have a replacement. They advised me to contact their web estore and provided a link. The estore told be to call someone. No. enough is enough. Great support [not]! I've search everywhere and no supplier, so far, has made a dock.

I'd love a spare dock or two myself. We better be careful with the one that came with watch or we will be out of luck for now!

I went to their store and all it did was to direct to a UK seller which wouldn't accept an order out of the UK. I did various searches but couldn't find another supplier.
As I missing something? I'd appreciate it if you had a link that ships to the USA.
Thanks

Thanks.... I tried their store and couldn't get that link! I even tried to send them an email but it kept on being rejected.... They don't make it too easy to do business. I just hope my Asus ChromeBox and Monitor doesn't have any problems.

I bought the charging cradle

It complains that my "cellphone number isn't in the right format"... What the heck? At least tell me what format you WANT, stupid website.

I just type xxxxxxxxxx with 3 digit area code, no number 1 before. It worked fine.

That's what I did too - wouldn't take it. I tried a different phone number and it took that. THEN it refused to validate my address. I suspect it knows I'm sending to mail receiver. Oh well, I'll send it to a friend in the US and have them mail it to me.
Seriously - I wish American-based companies would get over the idea that they can really stop people from buying their products.

thanks for the link I plan on buying a second charge cradle as well . I fear to ever lose one.

[q] is canadagsm.ca is trust worthy?

i want to buy from canadagsm.ca the glide and send it to a family member who's living there. is anybody here bought from them? and more important is the IMEI of their phones are generic ones? (i know they sell an unlock version of the phone, so it can be unlocked with generic IMEI).

Hey taiber,
I just bought my (locked) glide from canadagsm with no issues. It was kinda sketchy as it came in a galaxy s2 box with only spanish instructions for the s2, but it shipped in time and the phone works and looks great!
thanks for the answer mate,
but its strange, you said its locked? they advertised that they only sell unlocked phones.
Hi,
I bought a Samsung SGH-I927R from canadagsm.ca. It works really well.
Some things:
- they charged a little extra for shipment to Belgium, outside of Canada/US (which is ok, i guess)
- it came UNlocked (AND rooted... which was a nice extra)
- their rooting user account was still the main account of the phone when it arrived, but a factory reset fixed this -without losing the network unlock (if that was ever necessary)
- it is named 'Samsung Captivate Glide' on their site, but it seems that 'Samsung Galaxy S Glide' (which was on the box) is the name of the Rogers version.
- They shipped it with the content description 'cellular phone', so some extra import taxes were paid. :-(
- The GPS issue I read about doesn't seem a problem for me. GPS works as it should.
- The phone should be getting the ICS update, someday (as far as I know).
- The T9-predictive text input is limited to the languages relevant in Canada.
- using 'MoreLocale 2' in the google play store, I was able to add my own, custom 'locale'
- Performance of this device is really good (plays 'Max Payne Mobile', 'GTA3', N64 emulator,... all very smoothly.
Hope this helps.
thanks for the info. as i'm shiping inside canada i'm golden.
and import charges wont effect me aswell - my cousine will bring it with him.
i will buy from them in confidende.
thanks for the help guys.

Did it end up going well? I'm thinking about buying the g2 from them but I keep reading horrible reviews.
I'm probabily buying a phone from canadagsm as well, here I read positive comments, but on BBB I read this

From your previous messages, it looked you were going to buy from them... me I'm waiting their paypal invoice for a Note 3.
My debit card wasn't working on their website even if they said it should.
didt bought from them cos it was cheaper to buy via amazon.ca instead - my cousin choose for me. but it was over then a year ago so things chagned i presume.
I will report my experience...
I found a N900T on canadagsm for 650 CAD and I asked if if could work with wind mobile and abroad. I asked also if I can pay with debit visa. They confirmed by email. I asked to double-check even if in the ad it was the wind logo in the carriers that it can work with.
The speed of answering decreased after I tried to buy from their website and my visa debit did not work.
After several attempts they sent me a paypal invoices and I paid it on Jan 9th.
It took over 10 days to send me this unit even if it was available and they initially lied about the shipping day and the day they were able to provide tracking information.
I got this phone after 14 days on 23rd and it did not work on wind mobile, even with the settings they told me to put. I asked to be called and never got a call back, so I opened a paypal dispute to resolve.
Now they want me to send the unit back in order to get another but I replied that I prefer to get first a working unit and then I'll send back this to UPS when I get the working one.
Quite upset for that...

Did you join XDA just to rate them? I see you joined yesterday and that's your first post, WOW
Anyway, I update my experience with them...
In the end, after 1 months of problems, I got a working Note 3, just a different model. I had to send back the previous unit first thought.
They offered to add an additional screen protector and a case, but I did not get it yet.
In the end my suggestion is, if you don't care to wait to much in order to save 100$ you can buy from them, but maybe you'll have to face off some problems on the way.

I was considering buying a phone from CanadaGSM. Did a quick search on Google and changed my mind after seeing the results. As a new user I am not allowed to post links here, but a search for "beware CanadaGSM" should take you to a CrackBerry thread that I've found very enlightening. There are also complaints on other forums as well.
BTW, "Sam Cristoph" also posted to that CrackBerry thread. His post was very similar to the one above. That post was deleted, but you can still read it in quotes, along with a very good response. Go to the CrackBerry thread titled "BEWARE: CanadaGSM.ca purchase help! " and look at post #25 of that thread.

[Edited 11/26 - More Calls to Samsung] No more GSM Desk Vehicle/Dock in GP Store

Update Nov 26, 2012:
I apologize that I got everyone's hopes up about these products being available through Samsung and I'm upset that this is all happening. However, I'm more upset that I was either misled by Samsung with wrong product information or that the products do indeed exist and are just sitting in boxes in a warehouse. Either way, I'm taking it upon myself to take this as far as I need too for verification that these items are not in the possession of Samsung. I'm still convinced that the Associate I talked to on Nov 13th was knowledgeable and understood what he was relaying back to me and had indeed found the products Google was previously selling. When an individual confirms multiple times the phone I have, the accessories' make, model, wording, and pricing, and even calculates the shipping and total price for both products - it has me very curious as to how he found them.
SO...I called Samsung again today and was on the phone for an hour and a half explaining the situation, the wording, the confirmation call from Google, etc to an Associate. After I'm sure I exhausted her...she admitted she could not help me any further I asked to go up the next level. I told her I'm willing to go as high as Samsung will let me to find out why I was quoted pricing with items that matched - verbatim - what Google gave me for my phone. I've left a voice-mail with the Samsung Accessories Supervisor and took down his name and extension so that if I do not receive a call within 48 hours (standard business etiqute in my opinion) I'll be calling again.
At the very least I owe it to this community to do my due diligence and inquire information as hard as I can (legally, professionally, and politely) to work towards a true answer on all of this.
Again I apologize that I provided information that led to some anticipated excitement only to result in frustration. I'll update with any information I'm able to get.

Just last Thursday I saw the vehicle dock with Pogo pins (for the GSM GN) was available in the Google Play Store. Being the stupid me I decided to sleep on it and buy it later or put it on my Christmas list. I should have known with the upcoming Nexus 4 announcement - that something would change...and it did. All three docks (Vehicle Dock with pogo pins, Portrait Desk Dock with USB charging, and Landscape Desk Dock with pogo pins) are no longer sold through Google Play.
I talked to Google Play Device customer support today for 30 minutes getting as much information on it as possible. (And I must say the customer support was amazing). Here is was I was told from the rep (which could or could not be correct)
All Docks and Vehicle mounts were sent back to Samsung after Monday's announcement. (She had to put me on hold to search around for this information)
Samsung should still be selling the Vehcile mount with the pogo pins even though it's not listed on their website (at least I can't find it)
Samsung should also have the desktop dock with the pogo pins (couldn't find that on their website either but I didn't spend too much time by this piont)
The Google Rep gave me a number to call at Samsung (Not sure who will be on the other end) who she says should be able to sell me these devices if I wanted them. I'm going to probably call them tomorrow, don't have time today, and see what all I can find out.
If anyone else is interested in the phone number that the Google Play Rep gave me PM me and I'd be glad to send it to you.
If anyone has any stores they come across that are selling these two docks (Vehicle and Desk dock with pogo pins), and not the crappy USB docking, please post them.
I'll post any updates that I find out on this in case other are interested just like me. I was really hoping for some great Christmas Presents so I didn't have to spend it out of pocket.

While overall the support I've recieved from Google over the years has been very positive -- it's interesting you bring this up. I asked the rep I talked too specifically for the model number and the response was "GSM Galaxy Nexus Vehicle Dock". She was really nice and had been more than accommodating during our talk so I didn't feel the need to do a "you're joking right?" response.
I'll look around and if I come up with the Samsung model number I'll post it here.

Do you happen to still have a record of that in your Amazon account that would have the model number?
Alright after lots of digging around online I'm 99% sure the GSM Vehicle dock with the pogo pins is model number: ECS-K1F2BE made by Samsung.
It took me awhile but I finally found one on amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/Holder-ECS-K1F2BE-Samsung-I9250-Nexus/dp/B006GJ5S2E
I also finally found it on Samsung's website:
http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/accessories/ECS-K1F2BEGSTD?subsubtype=other-multimedia
But BeerChameleon is correct; prices have really gone up. Now I really regret not buying one from Google just last week.
Just in case someone wanted to try and get it cheaper than the $80 on Amazon.

I went to get the pogo dock for my GSM Galaxy Nexus on the Play store a few months ago and it said that they were sold out. It said "coming soon" though. So, I put in my email address to be notified when it's available. Then, like you said, it disappeared. They are on Ebay for twice the price. How hard can it be to get these to customers?

I'm just gonna wait until Samsung starts liquidation... it should be soon enough.
I finally got around to calling Samsung today regarding the vehicle and desk dock. I explained to the rep that I have a GSM GN and had already talked directly with Google. Google referred me to them because they sent their inventory back to Samsung.
After some searching he did confirm that Samsung does have both docks in stock even though they are not listed on their website. You'll have to call in to make a purchase. He quoted me:
$19.99 for the Desktop Dock (with pogo pins) + tax and shipping.
$35.99 (I think, I was driving and lost my note) for the Vehicle Dock (with pogo pins) + tax and shipping.
I'm pretty sure the $35 for the vehicle mount is correct as I remember he mentioning the total for both would be around $55. (and some change).
I specifically had him double check that both of these devices came with the pogo pin connections and he confirmed they did. He said by noting to Samsung you have the GSM GN they will default to these docks.
Shipping was actually very reasonable. To ship to Texas it was around $3 for standard 5 business day shipping.
Anyway, If I remember right these prices are much cheaper than what Google was selling them for. I'm sure Samsung wants to get rid of them. If anyone happens to talk to Samsung and gets different prices please post it here. Or, if someone finds them listed at another retailer for cheaper let us all know.
Hopefully they still have some after Christmas when I'll have some extra cash to spend.
I just called Samsung at 1-888-987-4357 Accessory sales (option 3 then 1 than 2) and the only desktop dock that they have in the system is for the Verizon I515 GN.
The Samsung number for the GSM GN I9250 Desktop dock is EDD-D1F2BEGSTD.
If anybody gets one from Samsung let us know where you called and who you spoke to.

I don't know, maybe someone else will but my guess is no unless there is a way to adjust the depth of the base the phones rests on. I have a Moto Atrix 2 with the desktop dock and it's made to adjust the height of the USB port so it can work with a case. But I don't think the samsung dock for the GSM GN does that.

Just an FYI, Samsung offered me the same equivalent as they offered you, but the part number he read off to me was for a Nexus S.
And the desktop dock at that price is a sideways USB charger...no POGO.
Of the part numbers I gave him, he showed nothing in stock. Looks like ill be buying a used one on Ebay.

Sure thing. I called: 1-888-987-4357 (same number as posted earlier): I selected Option: 3 for mobile accessories and then I remember selecting another option (probably 1 like the Slupie mentioned) but then on the third option I didn't select anything. I just held on until it told me it would transfer me.
After talking with the Rep on the phone (on Tuesday) - I was very confident that they had both docks (Vehicle and Dock) with the pogo pins. In fact, when I asked for the model number he explained to me that because he had to look it up manually they did not have a model number in their system for it. He explained that they have it listed as "GSM Galaxy Nexus Vehicle Dock" and "GSM Galaxy Nexus Desk Dock" and the wording aligned exactly with what I had written down from my conversation with Google. [I'll even double check this on both my notes when I get home tonight]
I made sure to reiterate that I had a GSM Galaxy Nexus purchased through Google. That Google was selling the 2 docks on their store until recently. And then explained that Google confirmed with me that their system shows all products were sent back to Samsung and then they (Google) proceeded to give me the number at Samsung to call.
He did have to put me on hold for 2-3 minutes until he came back. I asked if he could look at quantity in stock but he explained he was unable to see that. However, he felt confident that they wouldn't be running out of them any time soon (take that with a grain of salt).
Could it be that they sold out of them already and only had a short supply? - Possibly, I suppose.
Either way, before we hung up I went through all the information with him again and explained I needed to be sure these were the correct accessories. I reiterated and asked him to confirm:
These are accessories for the GSM Galaxy Nexus - had him affirm not Sprint or Verizon. And, the most recent model sold by Google Play Store until the Nexus 4.
The Vehicle dock included car charger, it plugged into base, and had pogo pins.
The Vehicle dock was specifically for the "GSM Galaxy Nexus" sold recently by Google. And that it would not work with Verizon or Sprint models.
The Desk Dock included charger and was landscape with pogo pins.
The Desk Dock was specifically for the "GSM Galaxy Nexus" again...sold recently by Google
I can't even iterate how many times I used the phrase "pogo pins" in this conversation.
Anyway, I hope a GN user gets through to a Rep with knowledge and is willing to take the chance on these. If finances weren't so tight coming into Christmas season I would risk the purchase in a heartbeat. I take the stance of: You send me the wrong part off bad information = you pay return shipping and I don't pay restocking fee. I take it as far up as I have to when things like that happen.

If we get this all sorted out and confirmed they do indeed have them maybe we can work something out. Using paypal I'm willing to work with you knowing it's a system designed to help both parities. But, I won't promise anything and we'll look at crossing that bridge when (if) we get there.

Not saying you're lying - but could the model number you wrote down for the desktop dock be wrong? Or maybe a mistype in your post? I used to have the US model numbers written down somewhere and that doesn't look like it. In fact, if I Google the model number you reference the only results in Google are this thread.
Just want to make sure we don't send other users on a wild goose-chase for a model number that is incorrect.

Questions for those who purchased an international n5100

Hey,
I just purchased an n5100 from Amazon. This is my first time buying an international device and not a US device, so I have a few questions. It looks like I got a model meant to be sold in a Spanish-speaking country, since the box and the writing on the back of the tablet are in Spanish.
1. The box had no seal to break through. I know on the Wifi models sold here and in the unboxing videos I've seen online, there are stickers to cut when you are opening the box. Should I be worried that there is no seal, or are there countries where this is sold unsealed?
2. No headphones are included. In the unboxing videos for the 3g model, I've seen they come with headphones. Do they all come with headphones?
3. Will I encounter any unexpected issues with having an international model?
4. How does Samsung handle warranty issues on international models?
Thanks in advance!
I'll attempt to answer some of my own questions since I decided to power the thing on
I found a few more unboxing videos and saw that not all the 3G versions do include the headphones. So I guess that's not an issue. One thing that's nice about the version I received is that it came with a US-compatible power adapter.
So far, no unexpected issues with having an international model. When powering it on, it defaults to English, and you can select your language from that first screen. When starting the Google Play store, it asked me what country. I selected US, and I was able to begin downloading my apps. That was one of my worries.
So far, this looks pretty nice. I was trying out the Wifi model, and decided based on that experience that I wanted to have the 3G option. I guess the next step is to stick my microsim in and see how that works
Congratulations! My one had a seal, but no headphones. I also got extras with my deal - a free official pouch stand, 16GB microSD, and 2 months free Internet with a local service provider.
No idea how warranty issues are handled, sorry.
There is a seal
There are no included headphones.
Why would you have any more problems than a Wifi version?
Warranty depends on the policy of Samsung where the device is originally for. My guess is you have no warranty

I got headphones on mine.
I guess it depends where yours came from
Just got mine today. Mine came from Singapore , no headphones and Spanish language
Packaging. But works beautifully with my tmobile sim. I live in a refarmed area and get the full

Cool thanks. Maybe it's this specific country that doesn't have a seal.

Mine is actually missing the seal, as opposed to having a broken seal. Where did you buy yours?

I've had my I ter national note 8 for about 3 weeks now. It came unsealed so that the retailer will know which converter to send with it. U have no warranty, and can't even register it on Samsung website. That said, u might want to try wentworthave (dot) com or protectyourbubble (dot) com... I've used pyb before for a claim and they're pretty good wentworthave doesn't have deductibles.. I'm thinking of switching.
I received my note yesterday also through a retailer on Amazon. Mine was sealed and all in english. It defaulted to British english and I was able to register it on the Samsung UK website. In doing so, I received the dropbox promotion of 48 GB for 2 years for free! The retailer included an adapter for charging in the main shipping box so they did not have to open the tablet's box. I contact Samsung US and they confirmed there is no warranty for it here. I have it covered on Square Trade. I just hope not to have to use it.

OMG Is my P605 a fake.

Just checked over my device and some you tube video posts.. a few things.
I got the P605 from ATGSM.com.
The box was sealed with sticker and all.
Inside the box there were no replacement stylus tips (as seen in all the you tube reviews)
Also the box does not look like any of the boxes i see in the reviews. I take it that the version they shipped me is originally the Hong Kong.
There were no specs on the box.
Did I get a fake...a clone....... What do I do now. I can post a pic of the box if you need to see it.
I need some serious help. I paid over $700 for this device. I just want to make sure its the real deal. Especially seeing how there are so many fakes out there. Please help.

Your box is not the same as the one in these video's, so I see what you are talking about. Besides the extra tips was anything else missing or different is your box? Your tamper sticker looks like it was placed over another one, what do you think when you look at it?
Can you post more photo's like side label and front of your box.

I bought a P605 via Negri Electronics a couple of weeks ago, and it was in an identical box to the one in your picture. My box also didn't have any spare stylus tips. Also had a Hongkong style adapter, which Negri provided a US adapter in the outer package.
I suppose the HK version just doesn't come with spare tips?
It seems real to me.

You got no idea of the Negri problems with the Note 3 obviously.
I feel sorry for anybody buying stuff from them.
The stories are hard to believe yet true.
What problems.

I bought my N-8000 and SM-P601 from Negri and had no issues. The only problems I heard regarding the N3 and Negri was that some carrier devices they sold, mostly T-Mobile, that had their IMEI's reported stolen after people received them and started using them. Since Negri doesn't build devices and most of what they sell is grey market and imported from other countries they are kind of at the mercy of their suppliers. As far as I know they stood behind the devices with bad IMEI's and replaced or refunded them. If you're in the U.S. and buying a SM-P601/5, no matter who you're buying it from, you're taking a chance as to its origins, condition, and country of sale (which can't be the U.S. because neither is sold here). And know that none of them have a Samsung warranty because they're grey market. Negri, Expansys, and NewEgg are the biggest sellers of Samsung grey market devices in the U.S. and I've purchased from all three. My experiences have been fine but I've heard complaints (some horror stories) on all three. With grey market goods there's no such thing as Best Buy. And Amazon doesn't count; all their unlocked devices are sold via marketplace sellers.

They were selling used as new
They were selling stolen as new
They were selling phones with the seals broken that were still locked as unlocked and new
They were selling Phones that were rooted as new
They were selling Phones that were already Knox tripped as new
This is just a small list of the things they pulled
If you read the TMO Note 3 thread thread, I don't know how you would do business with them, absolutely despicable.

I'd read the thread before I bought my P-601 from them. All their Samsung HSPA devices come from the Samsung dealer in Trinidad. They had the P601 before anyone else reselling them in the U.S. did and it arrived in its shrink wrap and was perfect. The shrink wrapped Trinidadian N-8000 I got last year arrived with a bad display. Negri paid return shipping and overnighted me a new one (which was perfect). I asked where their LTE P-605's came from and they said Asia. I personally am not interested in any Asian-sourced imports because the s/w and Hub access are funky when used in the U.S. Software wise, Trinidad and Latin America are the most compatible. That's why I got a P-601. When people ask me where to buy Samsung grey market devices I mention the three company's above. I share my experiences (and the horror stories, lack of warranty, and other risks) and tell them to avoid PayPal (Amazon Payments is an option with Negri) and use a "customer friendly" credit card like Amex. I'm sorry some people got burned over the N3 but it doesn't change my positive experiences.
Same problem but got the solution.

Nokia DT-900 wireless charger $5 or less today! (US Only)

Nokia Wireless Charger on sale today at ATT stores - $5. If you get 3+ its 25% off further
I just picked up 4 of these for $16 with local store pickup.
If you're in the market for a wireless charger, this is a STEAL! Run, don't even think about it. Pretty sure these will be all gone soon.
Online is already sold out. So you'll need to enter your zip code and see if any local ATT stores have them in stock.
Nice review of the charger here:

Enjoy!

You might want to add that the deal is not applicable if you're not in the US. (Not that I should be buying any more Qi chargers anyway...)

Done. Thanks
All out online for me and not available anywhere in Miami for pick up ?

Sold out everywhere around me as well. That's upsetting. Android Central tweeted about this yesterday/today and I normally read all my tweets and I somehow missed it. Would have ordered a couple.
Got excited because my local store had them "in stock" ordered 3, drove down, someone else picked up the last one right before I got there. Everywhere around me is now out of stock. Bummer.

Yeah, when I checked online for local inventory, almost 10 stores all had them in stock. I ordered 4 but when I went to pick up they only had 3 in stock. Then when I got back to my office, everyone couldn't believe how cheap I got them for and wanted to order some too. So when we looked online for local pickup, ALL 10 stores were sold out. That was in a 2 hour timeframe.
Are they clearance'ing these out or something?
I bought 3 back when I got my N5. Great charger. I use one at work, sent one to a friend, and still have one in a box at home.
Back in stock. I just hit the link and saw these were still available.

Tried to buy 4 to ship to in laws in NJ (I'm in Montreal). Unfortunately the credit card portion screwed me, asking for American billing addy, so it doesn't pass credit card authentication. Damn it.

I must be getting unlucky. I have had the page open for the last few days since the original sale and every time I refresh it's still sold out.

Yeah same here, I was so upset because I follow AC on twitter and somehow didn't read the original announcement. I've been refreshing the page like 20 times a day since then. What's the fatboy charger?
