Sony Xperia ZL 650x_ .283, .292 Rooting. Easy method. [For Unlocked Bootloader] - Sony Xperia ZL

Using this method, you don't have to flash .230 kernels or use towel root.
For Unlocked bootloader only.
for unlocking any xperia device bootloader, check this link.
Requirements
Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde
C650x Superuser Mod
Advanced stock kernel for KK 10.5.1.A.0.283
Install all necessary drivers for xperia zl like flashtool drivers and adb drivers.
Steps
Open "Sony mobile Flasher by Androxyde".
Connect the device to the system using fastboot mode. For this, turn off the device and connect it to the system using USB cable while pressing the volume up button.
Now in "Sony Mobile Flasher", click the flash button on the top left corner and select fastboot mode.
Now click "Select kernal to flash" button.
Next, browse for the "Advance_stock_kernel_for_KK_10.5.A.0.283" image file. For getting the image file, you need to extract the zip file you have downloaded.
And now click OK. The flashing will be finished in seconds.
Now you have a custom recovery for the Xperia ZL.
Next, copy the "C6506_10.5.1.A.0.283_Superuser_Mod.zip" into your Xperia ZL and reboot the device to recovery.
In recovery, Select the "Install" option and find the "C6506_10.5.1.A.0.283_Superuser_Mod.zip" file and flash it.
Now reboot your device, And you are rooted!

Yes, as long as you keep one important thing in mind: this method is for unlocked BL only. Downgrading a kernel works for both locked and unlocked BL.

It's very simple to get the boot.img file from the .zip file. Just right click the file named "Advanced_stock kernel_for_KK_10.5.1.A.0.283.zip", and select the following option "7 - zip -> Extract here". Now you can find your .img file in the extracted location.

For rebooting your xperia device to recovery, First turn off the device, and then turn it on while repeatedly pressing the Volume up button until the recovery mode appears. I'm not sure about what kind of permissions you are talking about. Feel free to ask any doubts.

For having a custom recovery mode, your phone doesn't need to be rooted. For Recovery, flash the
"Advance_stock_kernel_for_KK_10.5.A.0.283" image file given in the main thread. Using "Flash tool by Androxyde" (Check main thread).
The screenshots for installation are given in main thread. After installing the recovery, Proceed with the rooting process.
If you can't follow the above method, try this method.

CWM for Xperia S/Acro HD

here's a quick and very easy guide on how to install CWM on Xperia 2012 line ups.
just download the CWM install file
SO-03D / Acro S here
Xperia S here (big props to PuriketsuAngel)
unzip folder
connect phone normally via USB to your PC
go to unzipped folder, execute install.bat
that's it, CWM installed.
to go to recovery mode - just restart device (turn off, turn on) and while on the SE logo, simply tap the screen of your phone several times.
up and down volume keys will serve as your directional keys, camera button will serve as "select/ok" key.
and yep, back and home buttons work within the CWM environment.
note: when you choose to restart/reboot system now while on CWM screen, phone will turn off.(it does on mine). just restart normally - like pressing on the power button to turn it on.
Device must be rooted. we got a tut on how to root your device even on locked BL here
N O T E
This is a work around if restoring from previous back up is giving you error.
Back up :
Before doing a NAND back up - please do a manual reset of your device - no additional Apps must be installed. Also clear/delete any left over folders from your SD card.
Restart device then tap screen several times - once in CWM - clear cache/dalvik cache.
Then and only here would you do a back up for your ROM.
Restore :
Before doing a restore - please do a manual reset of your device - turn device off, hold vol-up and power button at the same time until you get 3 vibrates.
Now you can do restore.
if this CWM version is still giving you errors : please provide a detailed account of the error message, a logcat will be appreciated.

Good to hear. But I will wait for someone to confirm this. Kinda scared (I had another device, and modded it a lot, but I'm quite noob to XS yet)
nothing to be scared about. the guide is fairly easy to follow and no special key combination required. the process just installs CWM on your recovery partition.

First of all don't panic!
Grab any .55 firmware and install it with FlashTool, when installation is finished don't turn on the phone, disconnect it and hold Volume UP button so it boots in Fastboot mode, then in FlashTool click FLASH then select fastboot and press Flash Kernel > flash this one (Download) When it's over just turn on your device as normal and you will have .55 with Root & Recovery. Good Luck
BEFORE INSTALLING KERNEL UNRAR THE PACKAGE YOU NEED ONLY .elf File.
Just Select elite.elf when choosing kernel to flash.
Attached KERNEL is by RaymanFX.
Thank your for the quick answer.
Do i first need to unlock my bootloarder?

Hello @schpongo,
I'd Certainly Help You Out.
First of AlL, What You Need Is
1. Unlocked Bootloader - http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
2. Rooted Device - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133063
3. Installing CWM Recovery. I prefer RecoverX - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227
And As My Friend In Above Post Said. Do Not Panic. It Takes Patience. And lots of waiting time.
Till one process is complete do not try to unplug or close anything. Its easy when you do things very calmly.
Ok Now for Available ROMS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950706
If you require suggestions regarding flashing roms I'd advice you to start with TEAM FXP ROMS - Cyanogen Mod 10

I Solved the Problem partly by using the flash tool to get back the stock os.
You can use the Flash tool to flash the boot.img file in the phone. It's really simple then manually doing it. I am on phone so can not provide you the link. Please use the search button on how to flash boot. Img using flash tool. Looping in boot is because the boot.img was not flashed properly. Use the flash tool to do it. I too had the same problem when I first flashed but soon found out the problem. Reply back if everything works..

Yes, Unfortunately For This Purpose There is A Need for a little knowledge of Titanium Back Up.
It Will Bring All Your Settings Messages And Apps Back Without Any Modifications. Or loosing it.
The Reason : Every Time You Flash A New Rom
You Always ,
1 Whip Cache Partition
2 Cache /data /sysytem
3 Dalvik Cache
This Removes All The Apps.

In your SDCard, simply delete the files in the XZDualRecovery or rename the XZDR.prop. If you delete them, they get recreated anyway and fixes that problem you had with 101

Locked or unlocked BL isn't important with these files.
Just upload the ZIP to your SDCard and flash it in recovery, then power off your phone without rebooting and flash the stripped FTF with Flashtool and you're done.
Thank you guys!
But for those (like my self) who are not experts on this, could you please, provide a detailed (step by step) guide on how to flash it?
If I already flashed it to kitkat (not rooted), can I do it over this one?

Just upload the ZIP to your SDCard and flash it in recovery, then power off your phone without rebooting and flash the stripped FTF with Flashtool and you're done.
I flashed it with CWM but TWRP should also work without issues.

This FTF works to UB and LB or just for UB. Any bugs, something special wich we need to know after flashing?

My BL is locked, there are easier ways if you have an unlocked bootloader but this will work whether your BL is locked or unlocked. Ive been running it for a few hours now and no issues, root and dual recovery's are working.

If you already flashed 4.4.2 then you do not have root and therefore cannot flash these. You will need to flash back to an older 4.2.2 so you can root and then install recovery. Once you have recovery the steps are:
1 - upload the zip to your SDCard and flash it via recovery
2 - After flash is successful, turn off your phone without rebooting.
3 - Flash the stripped FTF file via FlashTool and boot your phone.
That's it

Can't boot into twrp and DRM keys

Hey, I followed this guide on my Z5P (cant copy the link, search it in google - twigstechtips blogspo sony z5-compact root without losing ta) until the last stage (not included) and everything succeed.
Now I have mm with root, so I tried to install RomAur, I copied the files (kernel and rom) to ex sd but I couldn't got access to TWRP I use adb command and power off the device and press plus/minus button but still without success.
Later I tried to flash with cmd the img file of the TWRP, the process succeed but still I couldn't get access to it.
Another question, I saved my DRM key, can I integrate it with Aur-Kernel-V3.0? cause I couldn't understand how I should do it on modified kernel.
Sorry for my English..

let me help you out as i have spend a few hours trying to solve this issue with my E6853.
1. DL Z5P_AndroPlusKernel_v4a.zip & twrp-2.8.7.0-E6853-20151122_material.img
(if your phone is a dual version, then DL the dual kernel and recovery.Pay attention to the model number, flashing a different one may brick your phone)
2. make sure you have ADB(fastboot) and all the relevant drivers installed(you can google them or find them in xda)
3.extract the kernel and you will get the image file.place them in the same folder as where you installed your adb (aka fastboot)
4. place your phone in fastboot mode.
5. using adb command, flash the kernel img and then the recovery img to your phone.
6.reboot and press vol up to enter into recovery.
i was not able to get twrp 3.02 working so i am using the old 2.8 version.if you can get the lastest one working, let me know how.

Hey,
Thank you very much for the explanation, but I figured it out and I am running twrp 3.02, I flashing the stock modified kernel [UB] [32.1.A.1.185] [E6833/E6853/E6883] [16-04-2016] by KbaB.BroS using the adb and it's works.
For my second question maybe you can help me, I saved my drm keys(MY TA FILE) and after I flash the stock modified kernel I flash romaur using recovery.
My question is now can I restore the my drm key?

you can flash your TA keys by following this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605).
basically you need to "convert" your TA.img to the .ftf file and then flash using flashtool.
e.g: flash_dk ta.img DK.ftf
the author of this program have already stated Flashing this file with flashtool will write your device key to an alternative unit, from where the drmfix library will pick it up. and Nevertheless be prepared for problems if the custom kernel does not match your Android version.
its pretty straightforward. if your kernel is using the same program i mentioned, then the drmfix should be included, therefore u just need to flash your own TA keys using flashtool and you shld be ok.
if memory serves me well, your fido keys shld be showing ok if the drmfix libaries picked up your own devices' TA keys instead of the fix.

the adb (fastboot)command is flash_dk ta.img DK.ftf
(this does not flash anything to your phone while using fastboot,it will convert your ta.img file to .ftf file and you will need to use flashtool to flash it.)
fido keys is part of your TA backup.it will show up if you do a security check.
again, you need to read through the guide and the posts there.
