Parents needed for testing new educational project for children! - Testing

Hi everyone ,
I am a member of team Cartoon Tist and we are urgently looking for beta testers for our application. Our project is mainly targeted to children aged from 2 to 13, however we would like to showcase it to parents at first in order to get feedbacks from caretakers. We believe that your opinions will matter the most and may reveal some of our project shortcomings. Even if you are not a parent or a specialist in child education, we invite you to the testing of application, every opinion and suggestion will be taken to our hearts.
Details about the project:

As the founders of this project we are trying to make an interactive program enabling children to create animated cartoons with custom characters, self-dubbed voices, and own dialogues. In addition to entertaiment aspect, there is educational side of the project, as well. More specifically, children may discover the world around them, learn alphabets, solve basic mathematical equations , learn foreign languages, and work on vocabulary. This project has great potential to address several drawnbacks in education system, such as classes on new technology and liberal arts at school.
For more information about the initiative, please check the following website: cartoontist[dot]com. Also, there is a campaign for this project to get further funding options in order to add more features to the program. We have already received a small donation which in return provides a periodical access to the application, however our goal is to provide even better version. You can visit this website to join us and build an innovative way to educate our kids. In order to make a donation for further development of the apllication, please check out our Kickstarter campaign, through typing "Cartoontist - educational version" into the search form.
If you want to have access to our beta of the educational version, please msg me or mail to [email protected]

[Q] Forum chat room

why isnt there a chatroom feature directly connected to the forums? that XAT one sorry to say is really crapy. www.omniahub.com/forum has a pretty nice one and its intergrated into the forums and its from AJAX Chat, the XDA admin can pick it up at https://blueimp.net/ajax/

This is a forum site. We prefer the Forum Structure. I doubt you will see built in Chat room on XDA. There are, however, unofficial IRC chat rooms that a lot of XDA members spend time on.
On a forum, the information is here for good, for others to refer to.
On a live chat system, the information is lost after a few minutes (normally)

but a chat wouldnt just be for information, it would be used for feed back etc.. its like oh you need help asap with your phone, 10 other people are in the chat, say 2 of them have the "knowledge" to help and can right then and there, i just think adding a chat for members to discuss through aside from the forums is a good idea. and i can bet if one was added it would be used religiously.
Once again, There are already unofficial Chat rooms for the examples you are talking about. #xda-devs on Freenode IRC. You don't even need to have an IRC client, there are Web based Clients people could use.
I personally think it'd be a good idea for people to just talk. Not necessarily about help with your phone but just basic chat. It brings a more community-like atmosphere to forums. Although I see how it could get a bit messy seeing as the amount of traffic that passes through XDA everyday.
I'd like to have a forum chat.. maybe in the main page of the forum..

Anyone on here making free games?

I want to make apps and games for Windows Phone 7. The only problem I have though is my programming is poop. I can make sprites, backgrounds, etc. I almost gave up but then I thought "hey, there's probably programmers that are poop at spriting". So if you consistently find your game needing backrounds, sprites, menus, ect. hit me up at [email protected]
To prove my abilities, post up something you want me to sprite, and I will do it. Here's a Toyota Supra '98 I did just now

92 views and no replies? No one's interested? Imma see what else I can whip up and post on here.

Nissan Skyline GTR R34
A simple tank
that'll work man. i don't want to post anything discouraging, but perhaps you should broaden your knowledge of programming before trying your hand at game development. menus and UIs are far easier to muck with than are games of the nature you're attempting to engineer. practice makes perfect though, and your fellow wp7 fans appreciate your dedication to learning. keep up the hard work.

I understand the basics of object oriented programming but I haven't taken the time to learn how to actually develop games on wp7. I did watch a little bit of a video series on making wp7 applications but I didn't watch the whole thing and I can use game maker pro a little (hahaha)

MoKee OpenSource is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the users’ habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives. Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee OpenSource. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.
Shouldn't this be in General, @Darth?

Understanding why we don't have VoLTE, and a BOUNTY pledge if we can get it!

I had assumed that VoLTE would have more to do with the radio firmware on my device than the OS my device was running. But this doesn't seem to be the case. Which begs the question (for someone like me, who doesn't do Android development): is VoLTE a hardware dependent feature, or is it something in the OS? In other words, can something happen in LineageOS to bring VoLTE to VoLTE-capable devices and carriers? Or is it something that would have to be done on a per-build-basis, for each specific device?
I ask this because I have a Verizon HTC M9, which, with original Verizon firmware, supports VoLTE. I would like to enable this feature. I would like other people to be able to enable this feature. That's why I would be interested in starting a bounty fund for bringing this feature to LineageOS across the board (device independent). I'll put $100 in the pot to begin with (maybe more later), and would encourage others to pledge to make a donation (PayPal, Venmo, BitCoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, whatever...) to any developer who can bring VoLTE to LineageOS. Make your pledges below if you're willing, otherwise just participate in the discussion.
To show I'm serious and for others to hold me accountable if it happens, I'm cross posting this in the LineageOS subreddit.
UPDATE: So much for cross-posting. Reddit post was deleted (evidently the Reddit mod can't read - I completely acknowledge that not all devices will support VoLTE. Moreover, offering a bounty is the polar opposite of begging).

I suspect that the folks at Lineage are possibly like the folks at TWRP. They would be SO inundated with otherwise perfectly reasonable requests if they allowed ANY that, for purposes of survival, they just dump them all. I DO like your idea, though. There ought to be enough clever folks in this community to figure out something that will work.
