[Q] Tne Homer Simpson Problem. - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi everyone,
I just bought my galaxy note 2014 and i noticed this weird thing: the colors of my display seems problematic. This is most noticeable in the yellow color. If you watch an episode of The Simpsons, for exemple, the yellow of the charachters will be in a greenish, almost the colour u would expect from mud.
Some curiosities:
setting the brivhtness to max and disabling auto brightness seems to help A LOT. Not perfect, but much better, altought i dont wanna kill my batteries.
If you pull the notification bar, the colours seems magically fixed, but putting it back makes it go wrong again.
Maybe you can help me with that

Settings => Device => Display => Screen mode
Turn off "Adapt Display"
If that doesn't fix it, try manually changing the screen mode

[Q] Low brightness leads to greenish screen (8.4)

Hello,
I have found similar threads, but nothing seems to fit for my problem. If there is a thread for this topic, I hope the admins can move this to it.
I bought my Tab S 8.4 two days ago and was very happy with it (except the Play Store error DF BPA-30, which disappeared by now). The problem appears when I use the tab in the dark, after the second night I finally found out why: When the brightness goes below ~15 percent (automatically or manually) the display gets a dark-greenish tone. Full black and other strong colours don't seem to be affected.
A good example is a game I am playing: The red/blue/violet "nebula" turns into a dark green mass as well as the row at the top of the left. When I move around, the green mass "wobbles" too.

Is this normal?
Thanks for your advice!

I don't know if it's normal but I got the same thing. Since I keep my brightness low due to my sensitive eyes, I see it all the time. I have a 10.5 btw.
I haven't posted about it because I figure I may be more sensitive than other people.
Try this: if you have an LCD tablet or phone, place it next to the S on a table in a room with light. Turn OFF both screens. Move around so you are looking at them from different angles. With mine , about 45 degrees off axis, the S screen is clearly tinted a deep green (or if you prefer, the light reflected from the screen is green.) The other screen is black.
Same problem here too...

In my Tab S 8.4, the problem starts only when i shut down or restart the tab... On starting, the Samsung logo doesn't appear on welcome screen and then the display shows a homogeneous greenish hue, more identifiable in low brightness and auto brightness activated devices.. After a few restarts or shutting down the device for 5-6hrs, the display becomes normal on restarting... Interestingly, if you take a screenshot of the greenish display, the picture is perfectly normal when viewed in a normal device or laptop, thus making me believe it to be a display problem, most probably a manufacturing problem...

Your watch seem have normal color
When you are in sun or bright light, the screen works has transflective screen and in this mode we can not see color.
Try in dark room or at night (and made a vidéo in the dark if still issue)

Occasional Color temperature / screen tint change

Has anyone noticed their screen occasionally looking slightly warmer (more yellow) than usual? Not sure if it's after the recent update or if its always been there..i think its the update.
SM-960F here
Display mode - Adaptive. But I'm comparing just the notification shade.

That is probably a result of the blue light filter. It turns on automatically at 7 pm. You can change its settings in display

Thanks for your reply but its not that. I checked.
Do you notice it in certain apps? There's also a "video enhancer" feature under "Advanced features" - try turning that off to see if it changes anything.
The one other way I notice the screen temperature change is in bright light - under Brightness, you can control the "screen mode" - adaptive is default, which means it automatically switches between cool and warm depending on what you're doing and where you are (in the sun, for example). Take a look at the settings there, because you can customize it a lot.
Edit: I see you said you are on adaptive, so you probably already looked at these. Have you tried making it a set setting rather than adaptive?
Try turning off auto brightness.

Display color totally washed out

Updated to 8.0.0, it was fine, some apps (like Waze) got forced close quite often so I did a cache clear (in Recovery Mode). Now the display color is totally washed out, especially starting from 50% brightness. Any idea the reason could be? THanks
Oh, and I notice that if I go to Display Setting - Screen Mode - Adaptive Display - Advance options, what ever I do with the 3 channels (Red, Green, Blue), the display color doesn't change a bit
On Nougat there is a Display setting called "Screen mode". Does it still exist on 8.0, and if so, maybe it has changed due to the cache clearing?
Edit: Did not read post properly, sorry. Although, have you tried to change between the different screen modes?

Question Display issues?

Im having what I think is display issues!
Washed out colors. Auto dimming of display. And what seems to be stuttering!
Anyone have experienced the same and any possible fix?
K have installed the latest update v4.15
Auto dimming is controlled by the auto slider on the drop down menu. You can also turn on the button on the top left side, and control it that way. As for washed out colors, you control the display in the display settings like a tv. You can make it any way you want. The display on mine is right up there with a LG OLED cx, and better than any Samsung phone I've had.
