Trouble sideloading XBMC to Fire Stick - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all. I'm trying to install xbmc to a fire tv stick. I have successfully done this with a fire tv. I don't know what's going on with the stick.
I can connect to the stick in the adbfire app and I can ping the stick via the command prompt.
I keep getting this error in the command prompt :
*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
*daemon started successfully *
error : device not found
- waiting for device -
Any ideas?
Please help!
Thanks ahead of time!

Can you sideload other apps? It sounds like you don't have it configured right. Recheck your IP address.

[Q] adbFire can't connect to AFTV

I've received my Fire TV today with fw 51.1.4.0_user_514006420 on it. The device works fine for all the amazon related features.
Now I would like to run xbmc/sbmc on it. So I grabbed adbFire 1.14 trying to connect to the Fire TV.
But all im getting is this:
adbFire logfile
reading database
server started
./adb.exe start-server
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
starting server
process time duration: 1 seconds
ssh check
./adb.exe -s 10.0.0.73:5555 shell sshstatus
error: device not found
I have really tried everything I could think of : disabled pc firewall, tested from wifi and lan, from laptop, used static ips instead of dhcp etc ..
Nothing .. I did a factory reset, power cycled several times - still the same. I am 100% sure about the IP address of the Fire TV, and I can ping the device from my pc's just fine (same subnet).
I've tried adb.exe connect 10.0.0.73 from a command prompt .. same thing (unable to connect to 10.0.0.73:5555). The PCs IP is 10.0.0.64 ..
What am I missing ? I've read the forum up and down and can't find anything about it .. thanks for any advice!
Did you remember to navigate to Settings\System\Developer Options and turn on ADB debugging on the FireTV?

Kindle Fire First Gen Jellybean loop

Hi,
I was give a KF 1st gen to fix. When turned on it says "The application JellyBean 4.2 (process.android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.). After clicking Force close the message comes right back up. It appears stuck in an endloess loop.
I have done some reading on here and apparently an incompatible OS version was installed on this thing and I need to bring it back to Factory settings.
I downloaded KFU 0.99 and tried that but run into the following issues:
- executing the install_driver.bat file fails with a message "Cannot complete the Device Driver Installation Wizard". This is on Windows 10. The KF appears to connect OK to the PC though. I can see it in Device Manager and under My Computer;
- when executing the run.bat file I see the following:
Resetting ADB and Launching KF Utility...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
- the ADB Status says Online, but the Boot Status says Unknown;
- When activating Fastboot, I get a message "couldn't write bp1, panic!"
- When installing FFF it just sits there with a message ...waiting for device...
- For some options, it attempts to download files from random.kennocha.com (108.61.31.89), and that site appears to be down.
I was able to download the Amazon Kindle Fire 6.3.2 stock update.zip file, and copied it to the root of the kindle. I then reset it but that didn't do anything.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks,
Jozef

Running ADB on MacOS with Note 10

Greetings,
I am attempting to run Tasker with AutoApps on my Note 10.
I get the following message when I run ADB from my MacBook.
adb: no devices/emulators found
I have USB Debugging enabled, and I installed Android File Transfer and also tested with Samsung Smart Switch. Both applications make successful connections with my Note 10, but I am confused as to why ADB does not detect my device. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also ran...
/adb kill-server
./adb devices
and receive the following...
* daemon not running; starting now at tcp:5037
* daemon started successfully
List of devices attached
There is no device listed.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try ./adb devices again after daemon had started?
