No boot
get a systems manager error on boot and starts a boot loop. thanks!

I loaded this ROM a few days ago and really enjoyed it! Stable, great battery life and the only issues I have/had was the camera (known issue) and Netflix not working even after loading exposed framework. Great job tot he developers and keep up the good work.

NFC
does nfc work on this rom? I don't have a s3 yet but, I am very interested in getting one soon.

Nice rom
pretty sick rom, do you know if build prop tweaks work with it?

Camera Zoom FX works for the android 5+ ROMs, picked it up during googles anniversary sale for $0.10

For me I noticed Camera FX worked only 40% of the time (I have the paid version also) the camera app for me that works 99% of the time is Nexus Camera. And what's great is that even when it fails to open all you need to do is re open it and it connects again. For me Camera FX aside from freezing much more often, once it fails to connect it usually requires a reboot. Just my opinion. But yea I LOVE this ROM. All the basics work perfectly! Oh and battery life is AMAZING!

I got the gapps from the link in the forum (version 5.0).
Twrp seems to be having a lot of status 6,7 errors for me and I can't figure it out. Many times the ROM will install, but not the gapps, frusrtating

You should try using Philz Touch Recovery... Everything Flashed flawless for me using it. Just a thought.

Thank so much!!!!! This worked great

LTE doesnt stay selected
Can't seem to get data 3G/4G to work. When I disable wifi, I lose my Sprint(Freedompop) connection. I cant connect to the internet, etc.
When I go under Mobile network settings, the Preferred network type is set to 3G.
I change it to LTE (recommended), I exit that menu. Then go back, it is still set to 3G. It will not stay on LTE.
And ideas/advice is greatly appreciated.
This is a great ROM and would like to use it as my daily driver.

I had the EXACT same issue. It's a connectivity thing. Sprints LTE sucks. Been like 2 weeks I haven't had LTE. One day I just decided to surf get web and I had no data. I even odined back to stock, called Sprint and everything. Did the ##72786# thing and still no 4G even though it said I had it in that notification bar. So I just went back to 3G bro. Might be your best option cause I'm getting data now.

[ROM][3.2]Contingency v1.0b1[5/16/12]

Alright members of the I957 community, I know it's been a long time coming, but I'm proud to (finally) present to you a custom ROM designed specifically for our devices: Contingency! There are a couple of things I need to rattle off in this description before I can get down to business. 1. Due to some error in updater-scripts causing incredible lag with CWM flashes, this ROM is Odin-based only. If you aren't very good with Odin/need a refresher, look down below for a quick little tutorial to help get you started. 2. Due to my lack of an actual cellular data account for this device, it's difficult for me to tell you whether or not the data is working... I'm 99% it is functional in this build, but in future builds I may need a tester to discern for me.
Features & Added Apps
Da_g's OC Kernel
CWM Recovery
Rooted
Zipaligned
Deodexed
Bloat Removed
Build.prop performance tweaks
System Tuner for OC/UV
Titanium Backup
Go Launcher HD (If you're a Touchwiz hater)
As you can probably see, this is a very bland ROM right now; I just had my first successful Odin flash of it yesterday, and the testing lead all the way up to today.
Stuff To Add/Do (Taking Suggestions)
Extended Power Menu
CRT-Off
Bravia
Xloud
Edit Name in build.prop
Put data monitor back in
Theming
Due to my little experience in the world of Tablet modding, I could really use some help as to what you guys would like to see in future builds of Contingency.
Instructions For Odin Flash (It's In Red Because It's Important)
A data wipe is optional, but I recommend it.
Download the .rar of Contingency from the link below
Extract out "Contingency vX.tar" to a place you'll remember it
Open up Odin
Navigate to your Contigency.tar and load it into the PDA slot
Make sure your Tab is in download mode (Power Button + Both Volumes)
MAKE SURE RE-PARTITION IS UNCHECKED!!!!!!111!!!!!111?!?!?!!11!11!%[email protected]^#
Hit start
Go grab a snack, sit back, and watch that progress bar
Screenshots
Look at your Stock Tab... Now back to me. Unfortunately, I'm not your stock tab, but that's what Contingency looks like.

Thanks very much for this!

if you want wifi hotpost use quick tether from market. it activate usb and wifi tethering.
I'm gonna charge mine up for a little bit and try this rom out later. I only got 30% charge currently.
Bought mine used a couple of months ago. Still has an active SIM in it from the original purchasers account. Guess the termination fee was too steap or they needed the cash and decided to live with the $30 a month
I mainly use it on wifi but will test it out on ATT network to see. I just pop it on once in a while to see if it's still active. Just checked and it was!
If it's a nogo I can just use Odin with the original rom from ATT/Samsung? I already have it downloaded as I've use it twice to reset mine.
Waiting for ICS sucks!
Does this still have the ATT data monitor app?
Thanks!

Yea the only one that worried me was the 3g booster and dalvik heapsize. Honeycomb also has a few already built in as most edits are based off of gingerbread.

No issues with flashing the rom. First bootup was a little scary as it stayed on the Android animation screeen for a while. Wound up doing a factory reset once up and running to clear up some issues. Seems to get more responsive after it sits for a while and after a couple of reboots. Had a couple of issues with updating the app store and maps but it seemed to work itself out after a couple of tries.
ATT data is functional for those who are interested. I don't live in a LTE area but it's getting closer by the month.
ATT data monitor app is gone. No biggy but was nice to see how much free data I have left....Hoping original owner keeps my data plan going!
Active applications widget can be added but only clicks when touched. Guess the app is no longer included....No big deal just thought I'd mention it.
Looks like there is alot of stuff to play around with as far as tweaks go. Not sure what they all do but guess I'll check them out later.
Thanks again!
I'll let you guys know if I see anything else that is worth mentioning.

Now that you mention the AT&T data monitor app from the tablet, (poster above) I was trying to get the app working on the galaxy note and I failed. I installed the apk from the tablet to the Galaxy Note via Titanium and manually... I see the app and the widget on the Note perfectly, but I am unable to link it to my phone data plan... Any ideas? I was able to get to a screen were is asking for some credentials that are out of my hands... I guess they are AT&T credentials for my account in order to set or link the monitoring app...

It would be best to save a copy of your nandroid backup somewhere safe like on your computer just in case you need it later. Not sure if Odin will nuke it or not. My tab was pretty much stock when I flashed it today as I used Odin to restore the stock rom a couple of weeks ago. If I remember correctly a folder in root is no longer there. Not 100% sure what it was called but I'm thinking it was preloaded or preinstalled. Not needed anyways as it was ATT apps/bloatware if I remember correctly.
I'm not sure about the rom failing and nandroid back thing. Maybe somebody else knows forsure.
I'm thinking if you for some reason don't like this rom you'd have to maybe use Odin to flash the stock rom back first, then install the kernel you were using and then move the nandroid back to the tab if it was deleted and then flash it back.
As soon as there is a link to download the original Stock AT&T ROM I will be installing this ROM...

What phone do you have? What version did you flash? Did you do a clean or dirty flash? Did you come from a different ROM? You need to give more info.
I have an Epic 4G Touch. It was a clean flash. I was on version 4.4.4, bit the lack of data was a deal breaker. And I made sure the flash of the kernal was clean. I probably did something wrong since I'm relatively new to all this.

The build date is what I was looking for. If you are on the latest build, which is the 9/30 build, Data and MMS works. Data and MMS has nothing to do with the kernel. I have been on LS for a few months, going back and forth from Commotio. Data and MMS worked on all build except one. Post a screen of you "about phone" page so I can see the build and kernel you are on. Also you need to be on an ICS modem such as FL24. If you are still on GB27, then you will not have Data or MMS no matter what you do. What carrier are you with?
Well as of now, I just rolled everything back to stock. I'll attempt another flash later today. I'm on Virgin Mobile. I know their device runs off Sprint towers. I'd actually have to wait a week to test data capability since my service lapsed yesterday morning so I'm not even connected to the network anymore. Thank you for taking the time to answer this by the way. I probably sound like a total idiot.

Nope, not an idoit at all. I just uploaded a tutorial on how to go from stock to KK. Check it out as it will help you for all KK ROMs. You will know that Data works by looking at your pulldown. Where the data is it should say "Sprint" or "Virgin Mobile". The kernel on the latest build of Liquid Smooth will not let you create a backup. Some guys have since fixed "Extreme Kernel" and most of us are using it on a few different ROMs. You will need to be on a 4.4 ROM such as, Commotio, Vanir, CM11, for the kernel to work. Also understand that there is no "4G" on 4.3 or 4.4 ROMs. If you would like to be able to toggle between both 3G and 4G, then you will have to stay on 4.2.2 ROMs such as PACROM, or WFTN (Wild For The Night). I would suggest you look at some videos before you do anything just to get a feel for this. @qbking77 has a ton of vids for this specific phone. Check them out as they will help you. The main thing you need to remember is make sure that anything you flash is for E4GT/D710 and not a different phone as you can brick your phone. :crying:
Well once I get my service back and running again, I'll definitely be looking into it again. I was using the Dirty Unicorns ROM and loved it, with the exception of data loss. 4G isn't a concern for me since I live in an area where it isn't available. Shocker I know. Not even Verizon or AT&T have 4G coverage here. But thanks for the advice. This was actually my first time successfully flashing a custom ROM.

I dont know why ur apns would be different? My apns are stock no edits.
I froze it but i still get connection drops ?any other ideas?
I attatched a link in my rom for a duplicate copy of my build prop... its a worth a shot to flash it and see if there's a build prop issue..
Have you updated your profile and prl? Could just be a sprint issue.. may want to try setting phone to cdma only and turn roaming off.. it could be your phone jumping from 1 network to another. .
im not sure if this is rom related is it everywhere you go or just one location your at you have issues?
---------- Post added at 10:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 PM ----------
Expecially if 4g is new in your area you may be seeing issues with towers and not the build.. i dont get to see 4g much unless im 50 miles from where i live and thats only 2x a week.. it could very well be your phone trying to find the best connection between the 2..
Just re read your question and it kinda makes sense that its more then likely sprint service causing your issue
*****found an answer..... Can you dirty flash 2.0 or is it a clean install?
Experiencing generalized lag after flashing rom
Thank you for putting this all together. Love the ROM so far, except that I am experiencing a good bit of lag. I do not use Wanam or the Xposed framework, and never have. The lag is not confined to one program e.g. Hangouts, but rather I am seeing it in the app drawer, homescreen, Messages app, and in other areas. I am using Apex launcher instead of TouchWhiz. Would that be an issue? Could this be a kernel problem? Should I be tweaking cpu settings with an available app like SetCPU? I appreciate your help.

It was a clean flash, but I had been screwing around with different ROMs and kernels that day. Would flashing this from something other than stock affect things even if I had done a full factory reset/3x wipe before flashing? I will try from the ground up again and see what results I get.
*edit*
Just wiped data/dalvik/cache 3 times then did a factory reset in TWRP, then flashed 2.0. Buttery smooth now. Awesome work. Thanks again!

i have the same problem bro , after i flashed from samfirmwre official rom of Spain ( also Germany ) my phone´s got lag , after a 10 15 minutes of playing @facebook or Playing clahs of clans , i need to restart ... i think is software problem ... We need to wait for the next update , or Android Lollipop 5.0
Same issues. I was on this ROM and it was great. I tried porting some ROMs and it never work. Clean flash back here and I had a lot of lag. Did a system restore back to stock without exposed and I still have lag. Something is messes up and the lag sucks. Now I am on stock with a crap load of lag. Did a factory wipe and same issues.
I am trying this now to see if it will fix the lag on stock.

Also would nice if you there were touch wiz themes and there was an option to select between stock battery and battery during installation
thanks in advance looking for more great cook ups in the future...
First of all, great ported Rom! Running smooth
Is there a fix for screen mirroring? When you hit it in toggles and settings, it says settings has stopped and fc!

You can change battery in the settings-customize area
you can change battery there its through... but the closest icon to stock malfunctions... when the phone is about 50% charge the icon looks like the phone is about 30 %
and speaking about battery take a look... ive managed to get a comfortable day on this rom with stock sprint kernel on n900t

Clean install? Flash the overlay file?
Having trouble.
Hello fine individuals,
I'm having some difficulties with getting this rom to stabilize itself and not reboot constantly. The 1st time I flashed it everything was working fine for several hours, I was able to customize it and install xposed, reboot, install modules, I updated supersu binaries, put nova on it and everything. It was when I started installing all my old apps from the play store that things went wrong. It froze and then went into a bootloop. It would restart and boot to lock screen only to stay there for a moment before a vibration would occur and with that vibration the device would freeze and start to reboot again. I tried flashing to my backup and reflashing the rom, overlay, and kernel again but the same issue would arise again shortly afterwards. I am admittedly new to working with roms so there is a large chance that this is user error on my part so I thought I would ask for some help. I have retried the process several times, but so far nothing pointed out in the thread has been able to help. I'm using a tmobile note 3 with 4.4.2, clockworkmod the evolution rom linked in op's post, the tmobile overlay (tried with and without this, the restart issues seems to take longer to come about without this installed) the 4.4.4 kernel linked in the thread (when flashed its called att-something in cwm, maybe this is the problem?)
Anyway this is the coolest rom ever, I absolutely love it. Thanks so much to the devs who made it possible it is really bad ass and I cant wait until I have it working 100%!

WiFi not working at all, even after flashing WiFi fix
It would have seem that it would be re-tested be paticent.
WiFi still won't connect after the update, anyway to fix it?
N900W8 wouldn't recommend flashing.
Testing it for the n900w8 booted me to a snapdragon screen with my phone specs on it..? was there for 20 minutes decided to reboot and went onto that screen again but after few seconds it booted me into the rom. Wifi did not work unfortunately (failed to obtain ip address) Right now i believe the closest we can get to a lollipop touchwiz esque experience on note 3 is the note 4 themed s5 rom based on 4.4.2 it has pretty much all the features that is present in this rom (except for the 5.0 UI, which i love, of course) apart from that video camera causes reboot.
But AMAZING props to the developer for bringing the 5.0 lollipop experience to the note 3.
I was easily able to restore my backup and get back to my daily driver without a hitch. So will recommend only if you're dying to see 5.0 touchwiz definitely not a daily driver (obviously)
This rim is working with WiFi after flashing the WiFi fix, if this can help figure it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57756091#post57756091
not working
WiFi scans but won't connect even with wap button and can't video record YouTube freezes bout all I see though great start glad some one is doing it.
wifi fix is built into the rom.
Since tmo has yet to release lollipop we are forced with workarounds.
see the thread... the fix is to manually add your AP set static IP and all set
I'm up with the rom but having problem to install the gapps, it gives me an error on twrp. I'm on the latest 2.8.3.0

Problem downloading files from apps, except play store
I have trouble downloading from any browser app, whatsapp download images and all the other applications. I get a dialog that "NO have enough memory". Now check the download path and mark it on the internal SD.
Wow, great amazing rom. FLAWLESS HERE. On 900t t-mobile note 3. I didn't upgrade bootloader or baseband modem and it works fine except video recording.
The only thing is I don't see the 4G LTE icon. I ONLY SEE 4G on top. No LTE. My data is working fine. But just the icon. Greetings.
Anybody knows why I don't see the official t-mobile 4g LTE icon in the status bar? Thank you.

You're not on LTE, go into the APN settings and edit the APN, switch "epc" to "fast" and you'll be good to go

Thanks for the reply. I'm defenetly on LTE. It might be something to do with the rom. I did a speed test and I'm on LTE an i changed APN settings. It just the icon on status bar. Well it might be I didn't updated bootloader and baseband. Or the rom don't have the LTE icon. My data is working perfect though is just the icon on status bar. Well I will learn to ignore that.
