10r, 10c, 10m? - T-Mobile LG G3

Pardon my ignorance on this, but I keep seeing mention of 10R, 10C and 10M. I've flashed ROMs for years, but I have no idea what these are referring to. Can someone give me a quick education?

It is the build number/letter for Lg. So 10C is the first official build and 10R is the newest all three are kitkat.

Thanks guys. So, I'm on CM12 so it wouldn't apply?

well you will still want to keep up with the modem and after the rpm is tested and proven to be safe to flash you will want to keep that up to date as well. So what ever stock L ends up being (probably 1 followed by some random number some random letter or 20 followed by some random letter) you will want to grab that modem at the very least. rpm is for power management so it is also usefull to upgrade that. Just make sure it is safe to flash the rpm first because it also holds some of the magic lg uses to lock devices.

V9 Sprint OTA

Our devs are great love them all, but just letting everyone know if you're still stock like me i got the OTA this morning. I'm probably going to try rooting and unlocking later so we'll find out if it's still possible after updating.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
If u plan to root, i would not do the ota. It's currently unrootable at the moment. If u did run the ota, you'd have to lgnpst back if u want root.

CA stands for California and I did a little research and this is what I found.
"According to an article in the business section of my newspaper, written by Dana Hull of mercurynews.com, the California Energy Commission on Thursday will consider adopting the nation's first energy-efficiency standards for battery chargers. The Commission staff says that these new regulations could (eventually) save the state as much as 2,200 GWh per year. The new regulations will cover every form of battery charger, from cell-phone chargers to industrial-sized chargers and would go into effect by January 2013. "
EDIT: Also with the 2nd LCD thing, I have no idea what that means but I googled it and found this. Seems to be people talking about enabling the 2nd LCD, like I said I have no idea. BUT I did read a few updates for other phones that enabled the 2nd LCD is getting them ready for Jelly Bean.
Just received mine! Quick and painless

Ugh, no good in Washington DC on three different OG's. I am curious to see how many bugs this actually corrects. I've read it corrects the text message to beginning bug. I hope it fixes Outlook issues and Bluetooth stability.

I checked the sources a few days ago, and zv9 does differ from zv8. I am not a kernel dev, so I'm not sure really how or how much, but I'm sure we can get someone who knows more to take a look at it.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I can confirm that stock v9 is unrootable meaning if you think you might want to unlock your bootloader and use custom roms its best to do so from v8. If you already upgraded to stock v9 and want to root and unlock you can use lgnpst to downgrade. This is what i did, the instructions for lgnpst are in the dev section. Theres a stock rooted v9 rom up right now so thats the way to go, plus you can get rid of bloatware.

To get the OTA System Settings -> System Updates ->Update LG Software.
I rooted ZV8 but left the bootloader locked, enabled supersu survival mode then ran the OTA. I was able to keep root.
I pulled the OTA Zip it has a boot.img and radio.img in it. The kernel and radio version appear to be the same though.
Post the boot.img from V9 please

Probably just wait for a flashable zip since i have a unlocked bootloader and rooted. It is better then flashing the zv9 stock rom and loosing all my apps messages and settings plus pictures... Don't have the time to really do a one and done backup but for now I can wait for a flashable zip

I don't know. If they do, it probably won't be now. I got tired of calling T-Mobile and asking them if they were ever going to release the update. all I got EVER was the last update was on may 7th. That's all we have. Thanks. Is there anything else we can help you with?

Before everyone starts berating you for not installing another rom, I installed goldeneye and it was fine for a bit and got terrible lag on the home screen and app drawer. So I went back to rooted stock again. Only rom for my phone that is smooth.
Okay one of these thread whining about t mobile updates just got locked. Can we not start a new one?
If you want updates now, root your phone and update it to your heart's content. That is what XDA is here for.
If you want to stay stock for whatever reasons and complain about a lack of updates, do it on the t mobile forums. They have forums there that are monitored by people who might actually listen and do something about it. There are zero people from t mobile reading this thread.

I got the opposite - lag with stock and not with custom ROM's (and kernels) like Wicked and Omega.
The post above is good idea - flood the tmobile forum.

Use stump root
Will it work for zve bro i just dont know what to do if i brick this ***** cause i dropped.my phone and boy did some slick sprint move lol and got me a new one cause when these lg phones crack the screen doesnt work sorry for rambling but yeah can i do it on zve?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
As has been noted thousands of times around these parts, the info you seek is "out there" meaning it's in threads and posts here in this Sprint G2 subforum. StumpRoot is the only way to root ZVE if that's what you're stuck with presently but you can always roll back to an older build of the firmware if you so choose.
As for Lollipop, well, it ain't all that...
You may be right about that br0adband, but sometimes something different is good.
This isn't the development firm but the general so questions are easily found and just as worthwhile to be nice.
First one free, second for to lmgtfy.
Thanks everyone for the help I'm trying to get back rooting cause I can't wait for sprint with this lollipop but one more question after I root and get a recovery can I flsdh lollipop straight up

I take it you already know you won't be able to install an OTA rooted? I'm pretty sure there will be no 5.1.1 for the G4, rumour has it we're going straight to Marshmallow.

I read the rumor as well but it doesn't make any sense what so ever what would we go from 5.1 straight to 6 with out the nexus lineup getting it first. Nexus lineup just got the final build last week so I really do doubt it.

So I just did the update and because I'm on a rooted kdz, its not gonna let me I haven't tried triangle away but I don't think it will work. So no luck from me sorry guys if there is a work around I will try to find it, ( I'm gonna try going back to original kdz and then try the update so yeah)

The update is H81210f, I installed it through LG Bridge after unrooting (well, selecting "remove root" in superSU, not sure if that step was needed or not). Seems like touchscreen performance is fixed on this one.
OK nice to hear.. So we have to wait for the flashable zip.
