Very curious what the issue was, and how it was resolved. I went the Asus Support chat route, and was supremely disappointed when they sent me to their website, had me do a reset, a reinstall of the Zenwatch Manager, then decided it must be a hardware issue, and told me it would need to be sent in to be serviced.
If cover to mute doesnt work, and the app wont save the selection when I click apply...but cover works for other features....why blame the watch hardware? Seems more likely to be a phone software issue than watch hardware.
Support had no clue. The watch is saying install android wear, the phone indicates that Zenwatch Manager requires and uses Android Wear configuration, and the guy is telling me I dont need to install Android Wear. Very frustrating half hour!

Not working for me either
I can't get incoming calls (Nexus 5, stock Lollipop 5.0.1) to mute using the feature either. Could it be related to the fact that I wear the watch on my right wrist?

nah, sounds like a hardware issue... send it in for service.

Are you putting your palm ON the watch? That's what I have to do with my Moto 360.

cover to mute
What's odd, is cover with palm does work for other things....if you want to return to dismiss whatever is on screen, and return to the watch screen, so the cover function works! And the phone calls can be answered or dismissed from the watch with a right or left swipe. Its just that function in zenwatch manager.

Here was my solution
I had this problem too, and found a solution.
PROBLEM: On my phone, in the Zenwatch Manager app, under the "Cover to Mute" setting, I would tick the box next to "Incoming call", then "apply", but when I would go back into that setting, the box would be unticked.
SOLUTION:: On the WATCH, start FoneHelper (touch the clock to get the main menu--where it says "speak now" up top--scroll down and press the menu item "start", scroll and press "fonehelper). You will then have the option to toggl "Cover to Mute." I was able to enable the setting from that screen.
*Incidentally, when I do it that way, I can immediately see that choice reflected on my phone, in the Zenwatch Manager App. I still cannot use the Zenwatch Manager to enable this setting, but I've succesfully done it via my watch multiple times.
Hopefully this is helpful for someone else as well.

Confirmed resolution!

That's it! Even Asus support was stumped, but that setting is the cause/solution!
Thanks for taking the time to provide such a well written response! Thanks again! +++

Thank you so much. Having the same problem and this totally fixed it for me!

On Nexus 5 and Android 5.1 installed this does not help. Problem is, that Watch put Phone into "Interrupt priority" state, which allows only important events to ring or vibrate. But this setting does not prevent ring or vibration, which is already in progress during the incoming call. I tried to use Takser app to set Silent mode on, ringer off, vibrate off, interrupt mode to None - but none of them helped. It can mute the ringer, but not the vibration. But then i figured out the solution. First, you need a rooted phone. Then create Tasker profile for variable set event "%INTERRUPT~priority". This will trigger event, when Watch will set the phone to "interrupt priority state". Create a task for this profile to just simulate pressing volume down key: select Button action to do this. This will completly mute the call.
Also, ASUS support told me, that this issue will be fixed in android 5.1.1 in the middle of may.

[Q] Car panels opens spontaneously, randomly - How to disable?

Hi guys
I have a stock DHD, which ran well, till I did an OTA upgrade.
Android 2.3.5
Sense 3.0
Software 3.13.161.3
Now there is this irritating navigation/location app that keeps on popping up.
I disagreed with the license, still it popped up.
I purchased the license key to see if it will stop, and it don't.
But the thing is, it is not the standard nav or location of the phone. it is something else, which I don't know, and I can't find it on my menu. I have to wait for it to pop up before I can access it.
The map on it is route66.
When I tap my phone button, there is a button for this app on the right side where the people button should be. But the weird thing is, it is not always there. When this app is active, the phone goes to speakerphone by default when making/receiving calls.
I am close to putting my DHD into a drum of acid and enjoy it melting away for good.
Anyone got any ideas what this is?
PS. I did a reset (phone off, volume down hold, press power......)
Spoke to the HTC call centre
Nothing.....
Pls help
O.k.
It is premium navigation. I can access it from within locations.
Anyone knows how to stop this from just spantaneously opening?

Only simple solution i can think of at the moment is blocking the process. Maybe an app on the market?
I tried app killers, disabled all location stuff, nothing works.
Guess I'll take the phone in to the agents to have it flashed back to the previous software, if I don't smash the thing against a wall first.
O.k. So the app that keeps on popping up, is the "car panel"
Any idea how I can stip it from popping up all over the show?
Open car panel from settings.. Now press menu to enter car panel settings.. There will be an option that says auto start car panel (or something like this) uncheck that option and you are done..
I had the same problem but that was before update.. After update to sense 3 I can't even find the car panel app in my sttings (the one with steering wheel icon)
So can't tell you exactly how it's done.. But going into car panel settings you would find the option.. Simply uncheck it.. If it still appears or you can't find the option simply uncheck autorotate in display settings...

[Q] Where to submit feature requests?

Is there any place (or a best place?) to submit feature requests for Wear? I can post here but I do not know if anyone from Google will get the message. OTOH, I've seen some mentions of feature requests here and other members posted apps or tips and tricks to meet the need. The features I'm thinking of are:
- double tap on the screen or the button to bring up the most recent app. (Someone else mentioned this and I really like it.) I use my watch when running so to bring up my running app I need to (1) opening the screen, (2) expanding the notification, (3) swipe to the side to get the "open app" screen and (4) tap on the "open screen button." This is a real PITA while running and is further exacerbated by profuse perspiration confusing the watch WRT my touch. It would be nice if the app could cooperate and return to the last active screen as well. An alternative to this would to tie a particular app to the double tap via configuration entry.
- Ability to turn the screen off during charging. The 'tips and tricks' answer to this is just too involved when I'm ready to slip into bed! Maybe if I could program or script the actions... There are times when the screen turns off when I place the watch in charger and that would be fine as a configuration option. Other times it seemed like I can do that by palming the screen or tapping the button (but this doesn't normally work.) That would be useful too.
- Single button press to activate the button on a screen. Back to my use case for running... It can be difficult to get the pause/stop button to register due to perspiration. This one is a little problematic because it conflicts with the existing function to turn the screen off with a button tap. However palming the screen with sweaty hands seems to be easily recognized vs. scrolling or tapping a button.
I'd like to have an option to have the mic on the watch turn on when accepting a call from the watch. There are times when my phone is upstairs and I get an incoming call on my watch. It would be nice to be able to answer the call and give the person on the other line a heads up that you need a second or two to get your phone. Once the call is accepted on the watch, there could be a button that transfers the live mic to the phone.

Need help! Cant turn off tilt to wake up

I just bought it yesterday and the watch has been updated to 5.0.2. Cant find findthis settingin andoird wear app as the image attached. I live in Taiwan and pair with lg g3. Tks you guys
When you are on that screen, tap on the item that says "Asus Zenwatch Connected" and you'll see the option to adjust tilt & wake.
thank you very much for the advise I was trying to find that setting aswel.
Buggy Zenwatch keeps turning on twist to wake even though set to "Off"!

My Asus Zenwatch has been buggy as heck lately after the last few firmware updates. The main issue now is that the watch face lights up and comes on whenever I move or twist my arm or hand even though I've set and reset the shake to wake setting to "Off". I've tried resetting and rebooting the watch to no avail. I've noticed that the battery life on my watch has shortened now too as it does not even last a full day! I also used to be able to tap the watch face one time to wake it. Now it does not wake up unless I tap the face two or more times. Sometimes it can't wake up at all and is dead until I press the power reset button on the back of the watch.
It is also constantly vibrating every now and then every few minutes as if I got some notification or lost connection with the phone when none of those activities really happen. It just vibrates and then when I twist my arm up to look at it, it wakes up and lights up even though I have "Shake to Wake" mode turned "OFF"! WTF?

I know you said you reset your watch, but have you done a full factory reset? That should fix just about anything wrong with it...
If that doesn't work, try to pair it temporarily with another phone or perform a factory reset on your phone. Maybe there is an app on your phone causing the watch to go haywire.
Go to setting on Zenwatch and search system update, you will go to 5.1.1, the best version I have see on this watch. Then do a factory reset.
I think this will go fine

No that was not the problem. I was already on the latest updated firmware for awhile when all this bugginess happened. Factory resetting the watch did not help.
I did finally uninstall the Android Wear and the Asus Zenwatch Manager apps and cleared those apps data and cache. Then reinstalled them. Did this several times until I got the watch to connect properly and successfully and stay connected. I adjusted all the settings on the phone app itself instead of from the Asus Zenwatch itself and that seems to have fixed my issues. Twist to wake is really "Off" now and the watch does not keep vibrating every few minutes. So hopefully this will not get corrupted again in time (as it seems to have before).

[Q] Mute notifications when phone screen is on

Hi,
I'd like to find a way to mute notifications on my watch when I use my phone (= phone screen is on). It's really annoying when I hold a conversation on Facebook Messenger and every time I receive a message my watch vibrates...
I tried Feel The Wear in a free version - I can set a behaviour, when the phone screen is on, but... it doesn't work. Well, to be precise - when e. g. I set 3 x long pattern for an app and the above option is set to "vibrate", then I'll receive notification with 3 x long and... an extra short vibrate in the meantime. When I change the option to "mute" - there are no 3 x long vibrates, but... still is the short one. I have no idea what's going on with that additional short vibrate - it's not set anywhere...
Another problem with Feel The Wear - it doesn't work with custom patterns in Wear Messages app. I just can't mute that app in any way, its vibrate pattterns override FTW settings.
I tried to use MacroDroid and enabling "do not disturb" mode when screen is on and disabling when it's off. It seemed to be the solution, but... when watch is charging, my phone doesn't vibrate (even though the "don't disturb" is off then).
I have really no idea what else I can try. Do you have any idea wtf with that extra short vibration when using FTW? Do you know if the paid version has any option that would help? Any other ideas what to do with that problem?
I have MiBand 2 also and it doesn't have such problems, it automatically mutes when phone screen is on...
PS I use SW3 with Note 4, 6.0.1.
PS2 In Android Wear app the option "mute phone when wearing watch" is enabled.

HTC M8s on Silent (No Vibrate), Yet Watch Still Vibrates

I read on the Huawei watch help site that, in order to silence the watch, the phone must also be silenced. I've turned off all vibration for notifications on my phone ("Do Not Disturb" mode PLUS ensuring settings are set to silent/no vibration), but continue to get vibrations for notifications. It seems as though there is no way to set the watch to silent through the android wear app OR via the phone.
Please help! I have to take my watch off for meetings because it is irritating to other staff, defeating the purpose of having the watch. Thank you.

On the watch;
Swipe down from the top.
You will see Do not disturb.
Touch it.
You will not get any more notifications from the watch until you do the above again.

Thank you for your response. I'm familiar with the "Do Not Disturb" setting accessed via the watch as you described. However, despite it being on "Complete Silence", it is still vibrating for notifications. I've tried tapping the "Do Not Disturb" icon to switch to the other setting (thinking that, perhaps, I had been mistaken), but I can see that it is definitely on "Complete Silence", (meaning that is is silent even for alarms, as I'm sure you know). It really is quite bizarre.
