[Q] Serious battery drain after factory reset - Sony Smartwatch 3

Hi,
so far I was happy with my SM3, even under heavy use it always lastet 2 days. However, since I did not recieve the OTA update I did a factory reset of the watch like it was suggested in one of the threads here. Got the OTA update two days later. However since I did the factory reset I have serious battery drain issues. even without a connection to the fone I'm loosing up to 10% an hour, under light use I barely last a work day.

Hi,
You can see battery usage information from android wear app, setting -> watch battery
It will show you a graph and you may find which causes your battery drains.

[Q] Poor battery life - Kernel os sucking battery

My HTC One M8 dies in just about 12h-15h with screen on time of 3h-4h. It is connected to Wi-Fi network 90% of the time and I don't use a cellular data connection. Auto-Sync is on. Screen brightness is either 25% or 50% in direct sunlight. I am on stock 4.4.4 Rom software number 3.28.401.9
I haven't came across any other M8s so I don't know if the issue is just with my phone. But one of my roommate has an Xperia Z1 and a friend has SGS4 both get around 30h of battery life with moderate to high use. The standby time is not so good because I lose about 15%-25% battery in about 3h-4h everyday when I wake up in the morning. I've tried factory resetting my phone thrice but to no avail. I've installed GSAM and included the screenshots. I want to know if its normal and if not what can I do? Would re-flashing the firmware help?
Take a look in gsam > number of times being held awake or something. I think you have a process or app that is causing the issue. You can try resetting the device and install your apps back one by one to see which app is causing the issue.
Yup, you need to be rooted and have Gsam root companion installed. Then you can post times waking device and held awake time. That's where your issue is. Without root... It will be extremely hard to help. Could be anything. You have near 8 hours of awake time. That's really bad.

[TIP] Factory reset after 5.1 update to fix battery life issues

A lot of us SW3 users are having battery life issues after the Wear 5.1 update. My Smartwatch 3 went from 50% to dead in 90 minutes without using location or Wi-Fi. But after a factory reset (and long resync) my Smartwatch 3 is lasting longer than ever with Ambient Mode still enabled. I recommend factory resetting (the only things that will be lost are preferences and sideloaded apps) and disabling Wi-Fi after setup. If you can tolerate it, disable additional features like tilt wake and GPS (location). See if battery life improves and reenable useful settings after a few days.
Trick didn't help me. After 2 resets battery life is same. Drainig battery is here. Now for 2 days I am looking what is draining battery.

Ive done 2 factory resets since the issue started.
I've also turned off gestures, GPS, wifi and cloudsync.
Nothing seems to make a difference...
I think that some apps are not optimized for newest version of Android Wear, my Smartwatch after update has problem of battery draining, I've done 2 resets but nothing, then i uninstalled all apps and installed 1 app every 4-5 hours to find what causes problems. For now I found WatchMaker Pro that causes battery draining. Now using my watch normally, with wifi on, wrist gestures and some watchfaces installed from yesterday at 6 AM, today at 4:30PM i have 35% of battery, is not so bad!

I suspect this might be true. For me, Muzei app and possibly FORM watchface suddenly consumed 400mb of cellular data within minutes and sent my battery diving. Uninstalled both apps and battery life has been back to normal, even within Wi-Fi turned on (albeit rarely utilized since I'm hardly away from my phone).

Huge battery drain

First let me give you my phones state
Full stock
Was on Feb update, yesterday (after 2 days of the issue) manually flashed through android recovery to march update and bug fixes.
Not rooted.
The past 3 days my nexus 5x battery has been draining very rapidly (97% down to 32% last night), nothing has changed in the system that i've done and no apps updated aside from google docs and amazon I think. I had installed a few new apps (All4 and iPlayer)) but have since removed these to remove them from a list of culprits. Prior to this battery life was brilliant.
Currently in the process of resetting to factory to see if the issue is more deeprooted. If this fails however im not sure what else it could be besides my battery dying.

Check what drains your battery. I had simillar problem.
When I opened the battery screen i saw quite large drain from some service 10112
I was able to open the service and notice it had something to do with GPS and it basically turned the GPS on without my permision (i had gps turned off)
Then i noticed it even set the GPS to high accuracy and that caused the drain. I switched the gps setting to battery saving and the problem was fixed.
However, I still havent fixed it fully because last night it turned itself on again, and my battery dropped from 79% to 65% within hour.
I did the same thing and it stopped the drain again.
Ok thanks will see if it happens tonight after full reset, I did check battery screen but the highest on there was Google play services and even that wasn't that high (4% and some small mah figure).
I permanently leave my location on battery save and previously have had no issues.
Did you restore from a previous backup? Do you have Snapchat?
No backup as not rooted etc. No snapchat.
Just reset device and reinstalled. All seems fine over the weekend no unusual battery drain.

One UI battery

Ever since I updated to Android PIE (One UI). I've noticed a major decrease in the battery. I was able to get a full day of usage with oreo, now I only get a little over half a day of usage. Not to mention the battery usage of screen off time is about 10-15% worse than what it was on Oreo...
I doubt I'm the only one with this problem, so has anyone found a fix to this? Or should I just revert back to oreo?
Model: Samsung SM-G960F
Make sure you factory reset after updating to Pie
I factory reset the phone after installing Pie and battery improved greatly. battery while using the phone is pretty much the same, but phone in standby time drains waaaay less battery than on Oreo.
You should factory reset your phone after every major update like this one

Is your google backup still working?
My SoT and standby battery improved graitly after deleting google accounts, samsung, and emails.
Only got twitter, fb, fb messenger as social media.
I know this is not a fix, but I did this, to check battery without google accounts activated.
I start to beleive my drain comes, from the phone trying to back up and get stuck, plus a play store that kept crashing.
It even showed at device maintenance, but then again, that one isn't working properly neither for a lot of users.

I've factory reset my phone. However I'm never gonna use samsung cloud to backup again, either backup wont work or restore won't work.
In terms of battery, it's gotten a little better, however I still feel like it was better back on Oreo.
Not factory resetting
I've owned my Galaxy S9 for a little over a month now, and I've done lots with it. I've installed a lot of apps and would hate to factory reset it and have to go through the process of setting it up again.
The battery has gotten worse on Pie but I want to fix the battery issue without factory resetting it. I know I can enable Power Mode but then I can't use Gear VR. Any ideas?

Clear cache from recovery
Install something like BetterBatteryStats and find out what is draining the battery (Needs some ADB commands to give it permissions but does not require root)
Disable AOD
Turn off background usage for apps you do not need to run in the background from that specific apps info screen
Dev Options > Background Check can also stop apps from running in the background
Turn off notifications for apps you do not need them from (I always assume if they have notification permission, they have to run in the background in order to provide notifications in the first place)
But the ultimate battery fixer after upgrading to a new Android version is and always will be a factory reset, you just cannot fix battery drain properly any other way, the previous OS leaves behind rubbish files which drains the battery, always been the case
I gave in and decided to back up my data using Smart Switch and factory reset. It was a pain setting everything up again and some apps just weren't reinstalled for some reason. I can confirm that the battery isn't as bad as it was previously, but it still drops by 1% every few minutes like on Oreo. I've turned on power saving mode and disabled AOD, but the battery still remains disappointing. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future update.

Battery drain too fast screen off

Hi guys i have my pixel 3xl and my battery is drain too fast when i dont use it in night fo exemple a left him 100% after 6hours i found him 70%
I chek if thers is an app in background and nothing i Factory reset it 3 times and same thing
Let it drain down to about 10%, and then check the battery stats to see what is high on the list. I get less than 1% an hour, and have for the longest time. Running Android 11 since beta 3, and now official.
Hi! I got exactly the same thing with my Pixel 3 and got the same issue, it seems like our device cannot deep sleep. Here is my battery usage and wake lock on EXKM (Running latest Kirisakura, screenshot attached)
Also mine, last night it was 100% then this morning, when i checked it, its already at 95%. Also i noticed that my 3xl now is draining too fast, any tips on regarding this to save or extend my battery? Thanks guys
First week(nearly) after factory reset or flashing img your google play services should drain too much battery which is normal as settings are calibrated, usage patterns adjusted, small updates installed etc.
Most battery issues are related to some rogue app, bad signal reception(it does not need to be full bar, even selected frequency by carrier or phone) or confused google play services. If it is google play then root needed to find root cause(pun intended )
For my case a full day with 1h+ gaming and whatsapp, phone and other stuff 4hrs sot and generally less than %20 percent battery at evening to start charging. You should be happy if you are near this values.
Hi! Thanks for the insight, I'll try to wait until a week and going to post an update here! Just curious because I can't find any information about the kernel wake lock that constantly occurring on my new phone
Edit 1:
So after a few days of searching, I found out the one who cause the deep sleep issue was my modified settings for the Entropy (I modify it via EXKM), after I set it back to default the Deep Sleep issue completely gone and I can stay 0.2 ~ 0.3%/hr when the phone is Deep Sleeping
I hope my issue can help you, and try to reflash it via fastboot with the latest (Android 10 / Android 11) pixel image just to make sure that there is no corrupted data
