Using LTE in Canada with a D855P - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello my friends
I just had arrived in Canada with my D855P bought in Brazil... I had flashed it with a UK v20e and I can't get LTE working with Rogers. Does anybody know what I need to do ?
Thanks a lot !

Anyone ?
Even trying forcing LTE option in the hidden menu every signal is lost... any ideas ? My current carries is Rogers.

Im pretty sure LTE will not work. Best thing would be to check if APN for rogers is right. Or try to trade for d852. Where in Canada are you?

I`m in BC
Unfortunately I won`t be able to change my phone now... since the hardware is pretty similar i thought that it could work :crying:

I was wondering if is it possible to flash the D852 rom into a D855P device... And if something wents wrong if i could flash it back. Does anybody knows ?

You cannot. And if you do , you could end up with a brick. That flash tool checks model in build prob i think , thats why if you flash wrong rom it will not work restoring with flashtool

@hmaqueda I have a D855 and can confirm that LTE works on Rogers/Fido. From my research the D855P is capable of connecting to LTE on Rogers (LTE Band 7 [2600 MHz]). I have written a guide over in the General section, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-enabling-lte-d855-flashing-t2878434
If you have any problems, please let me know. Hope this helps!

[Q] Help with F180L on US T-Mobile

Hi,
I've got a brand new F180L phone with baseband version APQ8064/MDM9x15M and software F180L20s.
After searching forums I still cannot make heads or tails of this phone...
My questions are:
Can this phone be flashed to work on US T-Mobile network?
If yes, what is the maximum data rate possible?
Is there a good tutorial on how to do it? It appears this phone can be hard bricked by flashing wrong radio so I would like to avoid such mistakes.
I live in the "upgraded" area with 1900MHz frequency re-purposed.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
I am having the F180L and have flashed the E975 european version on it. It is working as good as stock, no issues so far in India with 3G, HSPDA or 2G (we dont have 4G yet). And ofcourse, all korean crap gone
The process is failrly simple, you just need to read through the forums, there is everything written here.
From here you can find the ROM's just pick one near to you; may be Europen E975 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093382
Then use kdz to flash it on to your phone. No need to root your phone or else. Use google to find how to.
Root your phone
Then flash baseband of F180L;
A detailed description is here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40477925&postcount=70
I hope it helped

Hello Everyone!

Any other info you may need plz dont hesitate to ask!
Thanks advance!

Any solution to this?
You'd be better off getting the AT&T E980(supports all our bands) varient, i did and it works perfect...the E988 only supports 2G\LTE here in canada

LG E975 - No LTE Option

Hello Everyone,
Hopefully this issue can be solved, as I'm using stock Android JB 4.1.2 (E97510h-EUR-XX) on my device and there is no LTE option in:
- System Settings> More...> Mobile Networks> Network Mode
Now, I believe it can be enabled by making a change to persist.radio.lteon as found here:
However, it requires root access and as far as I'm aware, there is no root exploit for E97510h-EUR-XX at this time:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163814&page=5
Here are my questions:
1. Is there any method to replace or edit persist.radio.lteon without rooting my device?
2. If 1 is not an option, is there any method to successfully root my device?
3. If 2 is possible, can I unroot and will this process be undetectable?
Any help is much appreciated :good:

He hasn't bought a Korean Optimus G, but an E975. But for some reason if you put a SIM card from one carrier in the phone you cannot choose LTE, but if you put in a SIM from a different carrier you get the option to choose LTE. That's because LG has had the brilliant idea to block LTE for some carriers on an LTE enabled phone.
You can try contacting LG so they release an update so that LTE will be enabled for your carrier, but it would be faster to root your phone and adjust the build.prop like you said in the first post.

Why bother putting Korean software on your European phone and risk having a bad experience (due to the fact that Korean software is guess what optimized for Korean carriers)? When you can just root your device and change the build .prop which is less trouble and less risky to perform than to put a Korean software on it.
But to answer the question of the TS. You can root the E975 10 H firmware. I used Framaroot, and it works fine. You can read all about in the thread FAQ (Freaking Annoying Questions) in the Q and A section.

risky ? how can be risky .. so people here happily flashing third party roms and that's alright and when try to use original official rom then is risky ????! man are you OK?
optimized for their carriers ? no .. only APPS are included .. and those apps can be easily ignored ..
i think that your buildprop editing is risky .. ordinary people wont be messing with customizing files
wait for carrier till end of march then
I dont need to read nothing for me all working am enjoying LTE(4G) u dont it is your problem what u do ..
do what u want ..
Chill out dude. I'm only trying to help the TS out. He didn't ask anything about flashing a ROM, only to solve his problem with or without root.
Flashing any custom ROM is more risky than rooting a device. As it involves more steps then just rooting. So why make it hard for yourself?
Flashing a Korean ROM would mean flashing a KDZ file (that's the way I changed the E975 10 H back to E975 10 D) and that process probably changes the baseband of your phone(which is not the right one for the E975), so it could definitely influence the experience and battery life, etc.
You say that ordinary people won't mess with the build.prop file but they won't have any problem with flashing a Korean ROM?
BTW: There is no need in quoting the very last post everytime you make a comment, as it is clear what you're replying on.

That quote button has reason to be there .. that is why am using it ... And people know which answer belongs to particular person ..
for me is easy flash kdz ... and then obviously u need to flash modem back .. that is not hard too ..
And u are right in only one thing .. yes when people changing roms flashing then phone drains battery .. yes when I converted to E975 my F180S battery was very very bad .. I flashed original korean back and battery is much much better .
Like I said you can try korean if no leave it and wait for carrier to sort it out .. but they have time tho
No one here recommends to flash korean kdz in international versions nd vice versa too... Try some othr rooting methods nd try to change the build.prop.... Have yu tried moto chopper root method...??
Edit: looks lyk moto chopper method doesn't help yu... Yu cant yu downgrade ur software nd root it....

how can I find out which version of e988 I have

This might be a noob question, how can I tell which version of e988 I have? I have a optimus g pro that I got from doha Qatar, trying to flash back to stock with lg flash tool, I need to find out which version of the e988 I have so that I can download the correct files. Another question is that no matter when I was on stock or with custom Rom, I am not able to get the speed pass edge. Does my phone not have the T-Mobile 3g/lte frequencies? Is that why I'm stuck on edge speed with tmobile network? Help please, thanks in advance.
You will need to use e980 in the US to get 3G/4G speeds on TMobile or ATT. E988 does not support the necessary frequency bands for US carriers. If you can exchange it do it.

No wonder I couldn't get any 3g/4g speed..... it's little too late for the exchange, would you tell me how I can tell which version of e988 I.have so that i can download the right files.

Firmware updates

Using an unbranded 32gb d855 in the UK. Got no ota update from eur 10a so flashed v10f. Now on v10f global.
Questions...
Modem appears to be the same, so don't kdl files include modem/radio's?
What is the best firmware to be on, EUR or global? Does it even matter?
How do I know if firmware is for web d855?
Man, do I need custom recovery, screwed the phone and had to start all over sigh!
Thanks

you download the 10c update for you device (see kdz tread in general) and flash it with THIS
just a suggestion don'tt flash 10c but go with 10E if available for your device(same model number)

I am completely newbe here, could you please also give me the link to find a D855 10E file ?
My model suffix is A6FR (france?) does that mean there is no 10E ?
or should find another country 10E? I am ok taking anything that will work
and after 1.5 hours of digging helplessly would appreciate if you can help me finding the proper 10E (if there is one).
