LG G3 Original Android Development
Welcome to the LG G3 original development forum. This forum is used to find or discuss original development on the LG G3 phone, including ROMs, kernels, rooting, mods and more.
This is an original development forum, which differs from the LG G3 Development forum in that discussion and items in this forum are for mostly original development on the LG G3, where the regular development forum is for modifications to stock tools where there has not been significant change. For more details on Original vs Regular Development forums, see this post on our Portal.

Suggestion: Vogue android development subforum.

I think it's time there was vogue android development subforum, currently most of the vogue android posts go into one 400 page thread. While it was fine to do this initially I would rather keep that thread for kernel development.
Vogue has by far the most advanced android port, we now have quite a few developers and people are starting to post their own builds.
I see a poll for a general android porting forum and this is fine, but it wouldn't help vogue much since the kernel development is very device specific.
Thanks
This would be perfect. The 400 page thread makes it very difficult to find specific information on the project, and makes it especially difficult for newcomers to join in.
Definitely, yes

[Q] Roms in Every Section

Can someone please enlighten me as to why we have roms in just about every section on the g pro?
There is roms under Optimus G Pro General, Optimus G Pro Android Development, & Optimus G Pro Original Android Development. Kind of irritating having to hop from one subforum to another because all of the ROMS can't be kept in one Development area. I guess i don't understand as to why that is. Maybe there is a reason behind it?
Also is there any chance we can have a subforum for each model, which would take people spamming ROM threads wanting to know if it was for their model or not. Because that's also sad to see every rom thread someone spamming it wanting to know if it is for their model or not. Where as most don't read the title or description....Guess you can't fix stupid as they say, but it would keep a lot of the window lickers down from spamming threads.

ROMs should really only be in two places-Original Android Development and Android Development. Original Android Development should include original work and official and unofficial ports. Android Development should include things like modified stock ROMs, ROMs that are not the OP's work and unofficial ports of ROMs for which there is an official version. As far as separate device subforums go, I'm not sure how likely that is to ever happen.

Well thank you for that clarification. But that is not how others must have understood it. Because that is not how it is in the LG Optimus G Pro forum section. And yeah i didn't think it would be likely, but it is a GREAT idea to prevent so much spam, and people from getting warnings an such. Thank you for clearing that up. Just wish that's how it was though.
maybe we can request a moderator to move those threads to corresponding section
there aren't that many

Lack of Development Thread - Rules are Rules!!!

I see so many members commenting on lack of development in the development threads when there should be none and those threads are for discussion of the ROM or Kernel in the original post. So many people are bashing the phone and overwhelming developers with useless comments and complaints when there are already threads for that kind of discussion. If you want to rant about lack of development please do it here and not on the development threads. The developers are not our slaves nor should we flame their development threads with such animosity. Take it elsewhere. This phone is great and most certainly when Android L 5.0 is released, our phone will benefit. People need to learn to have patience and be grateful that some development is occurring despite it being slow. So once again, respect the development threads and rant in here. The LG G3 is a powerhouse and I can assure you that once Android L is released..... This phone will be even better. So leave the development threads alone and rant in here about lack of development and make a fool of yourselves. It is your choice. No need to thank me, it is your right to act like a fool and this thread is just for that. So rant as much as you please about lack of development and etc here. You're welcome.
You're annoying.
First of all, the fact that you made THIS thread, is JUST as annoying as those who post threads about a lack of development. Second, learn how to form paragraphs!

Verizon thread has a rom That you can flash on T-Mobile. You'll need to adjust the apn and delete Bluetooth apn as it fc. The OP stated that he will most likely make a patch to fix the problems

The perfect amount.

Forum titles, what's the difference.

There's an M8 Android Development forum and a M8 Original Android Development forum. Why? What's the difference.
There's an explanation at the top of the Forum in the header, with links to even more explanation, thus:
HTC One (M8) Android Development
Welcome to the HTC One (M8) development forum. This forum is used to find or discuss development on the One (M) phone, including ROMs, kernels, rooting, mods and more. Information can also be found here on converting a Sense model into a Google Play Edition.
This is a development forum, which differs from the HTC One (M8) Original Development forum in that discussion and items in this forum are for derivatives of stock ROMS, kernels or other materials, and the Original Development forum includes new work which is mostly original. Xiaomi cross device development subforum?

Hello dear XDA moderators and admins. First of all thank you for making this great XDA forum available to us.
I have a little question for you guys.
I know there is a Sony cross device development subforum here at XDA which is a wonderful resource for Sony users.
But is there also one for Xiaomi devices?
Considering the fact that Xiaomi releases somewhere around 80 new devices each month, it's easy for valuable information to get lost in all the various little individual Xiaomi subforums. Information that could also be useful to other Xiaomi users that might happen to have a slightly different Xiaomi device and therefore tend to hang out in a different Xiaomi subforum.
Wouldn't such a Xiaomi cross device development subforum be a great place for all Xiaomi users and developers to be able to communicate with each other and answer questions related to ROM development and other questions regaring Xiaomi devices?
Could you please create such a Xiaomi cross device development subforum? Thank you so much!
