How do you root it by installing Supersu and not Kinguser as root app? I have already tried deleting kinguser after flashing Supersu via CWM but it stays there and is the default root app for the device

Great.... Phone root... works like a charm....
An easy CWM Recovery easy tutorial is what we are missing...

Already tried that so many times. Every time i delete kinguser, supersu stops working! It seeks root permission from kinguser! Also i am unable to uninstall kinguser completely, by any tool!

Didn't work! I am on Lewa OS now and root is managed by the inbuilt Permission manager. Will wait till we get another custom rom.

I've tried it to my desire 516 but didn't work!!should bootloader be unlocked?

When your phone launched ? Before 2011 or after 2011
Sent from my HTC Desire 616 dual sim using XDA Free mobile app

Guys, I have got my Desire 616 back from Service centre, as it was in repair for touchscreen issue. Now I need to re-root it. Is there any working way to root without PC, and without installing "Kinguser" and only with SuperSU or Superuser?
I have already tried Framaroot, Adroot etc and they are not working.

Hello (c)ollen!
Do you need the sdk for the Android drivers (for adb)
Or
Just the Motorola drivers?
He is yet to use superoneclick. He tried with z4 and had no success.

Z4 is just for the SGS isnt it?
Anyway, superoneclick is a one button press. Just need the motorola drivers, connect the phone in debug, open SOC and hit root.

The Pro version also offers:

Hi @ all
System apps like this Cineese SU App can be uninstalled with "root App Deleter".Found on market. You need root permissions too.
just install super su and update the binaries.. them it will promp to unistall the other ones.. it worked for me..
It works, but I have a small issue: I can't remove the Superuser application the rooting kit provides. I install SuperSu, it prompts me to update the binaries, I do, and it tells me "installation successful", but it doesn't ask me to remove the other superuser applications. So I am stuck with the Chinese/Korean Superuser application. Any thoughts on this?

Hi. I'm currently trying this one but VRoot is taking a long time recognizing my phone. Any idea guys why?
Tried it on a chinese tablet Nextway F8X which nothing else could root, and that worker like BOSS!!! BRAVO!!!
Just wonder how it works... Somebody can explain that? I'm not so optimistic to tools like this.

[Q]Write Protection?

The New Desire 816w is quite good a device and I have successfully flashed CWM Recovery & SuperSU. It looks SuperSU is running well and root access have been achieved. I also "successfully" deleted apps shipped with the device and installed google apps by coping files into /system/app and /system/pri-app. But after reboot all apps deleted were reinstated while newly added google apps disappeared. The interesting thing is Superuser.apk is lying in /system/app which I think it's due to flash instalation through recovery. I searched online and found wp_mod.ko might be the problem but I can't find it in /system/lib/modules in my device.
Please help and advise....
Write protection is enabled on all HTC devices by default.
To disable it you have to flash wp_mod.ko module by flar2 that defeats it or flash a custom kernel.
As there isn't available wp_mod for this device nor custom kernels you might ask @flar2 to look into it and help you or wait for kernel source code.

Flar released a write protection module in original development, but I haven't tried it yet.
I flashed PA's full 4.4.2 gapps over the stock ROM in recovery and it's all good. Have the Play store and services and everything works. Any changes you make in recovery will stick.
Of course, make a backup before attempting this.

[TUT][ROOT][ALL VERSIONS] Nokia X Rooting Guide (v 1.1.2.2) (v11.1.1)

Nokia X Rooting Guide for all versions.
Hello Everyone. Today I wanted to create a full and final Tutorial on how to root Nokia X. Whether you are on v 11.1.1 or have updated to v1.1.2.2.
Step-by-step guide:
1. Download and install Nokia X Usb Drivers (if you haven't).
2. Download Nokia X ToolKit from here.
3. Set your device to USB Debugging and connect it to your PC.
4. Run the Nokia X Toolkit. You will see this screen:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
5. Choose Option 21.
6. Let it work and after a while you'll find your phone booted into CWM.
7. There goto Mounts And Storage --> Mount System.
8. Then choose Flash Zip from SD Card.
9. There you'll find a zip of Superuser. Flash it.
10. After flashing, you should choose Reboot.
11. It will give you a prompt about fixing CWM. Just select NO.
12. Done. You will be rooted now.
I hope this works. Tested by me. So Enjoy. Credits to Ethan for this magnificent Toolkit.
P.S: Much better than KingRoot and other methods, I believe.
