[23.FEB.11][DFT] CleanDROID v2.55-Froyo+CM [Kernel GL_Core_v5b]

CleanDROIDFollowing on from my WM 6.5 ROMs for the HD2, I now present my first NANDroid ROM. Built for speed, space and maximum customisability to be decided by you - the users!
Main Features:
- Extreme speed and responsiveness
- Froyo 2.2.1
- CyanogenMOD 6.1.1
- ADW Launcher
- Standard Framework
- Ultra Tiny, 320mb free space after flash on Euro HD2
- Gingerbread Keyboard
- LCD Density is 190 for the true HD look
- Custom initrd for performance
- Custom kernel for max performance and battery life
The ROM is small because it is stirpped of all Google applications and varoius other features, such as wallpapers. No wallpapers are supplied other than the one it comes with so you must provide your own. Everything that has been removed is freely available from the Market, so you can choose what you want and nothing is forced upon you
The ROM is completely rooted and SU is working correctly so you will easily be able to change animations, framework, system APKs etc
Installation:
MAGLDR 1.11 or greater required, Radio 2.12.50.xx is reccommended. Load phone in MAGLDR menu mode, select USB flasher. Connect phone to PC with USB cable (allow it to install drivers if necessary) and flash the ROM with the supplied DFT flasher. Its that simple
Kernel changelog + Download + GPL compliance information:
Kernel : GL_Core_v5b
Built from latest master GIT git://gitorious.org/linux-on-wince-htc/linux_on_wince_htc.git
OC 1190/1536mhz added to acpu file, Added IO optimisation sourced from hastarin, Added latest YAFFS + cpufreq drivers from tytung GIT.
The kernel code is not modified in any way from what is available on the below linked repositories + patch file, the only difference being the custom build configuration. All credits for kernel modifications go to hastarin, tytung, cotulla, DFT, markinus and anyone else listed as contributing on the commit list and changelogs
- Latest Patches
- Automatic overclock scaling up to 1190mhz / 1536mhz
- Interactive governor as default
- No Undervolt 1190, No undervolt 1536 and Undervolt 1190 kernels availbale
- Reverted to no-op (better IO performance)
- Reverted to SLUB (better system latencies)
- Added htcleo.board.c tweaks from hastarin
- EXT 2/3/4 support
- Added netfilter for WiFi tethering support throught 3rd party apps
- Fixed 60ma after call drain
- Fixed LED notifications
- Pulled latest commits and rebuilt
- Improved compatability for more devices with Undervolt_1190 and 1536mhz kernels
- Slight performance increase over v4
You can download the complete patch set i use here http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/Kernel/KERNEL PATCH.7z
You can download a complete ready to use build for other roms and chefs to use here http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/Kernel/DISTRIBUTION KERNEL.7z
Download:
NAND DFT FLASH >> http://htcfanboys.com/CleanEx/CleanDROID 2.55.7z
Build info
~~~~!!!! IMPORTANT - READ !!!!~~~~
From now on, the rom .7z you have downloaded will contain 3 boot.img files. Choose which one you want to try and delete the other two, then rename the one you have chosen to "boot.img", then flash. If you have windows set to auto hide file extensions (99.9% people do) renaming the file to "boot" will be sufficient, otherwise it will end up being called boot.img.img and DFT wont see it!
The three choices are:
- 1190mhz No Undervolt (most stable)
- Undervolt 1190mhz (battery saver - might not work on all devices)
- 1536mhz No Undervolt (Will consume more battery, but faster, compatible with most devices)
Changelog: v2.55
- Ditched undervolting for all but 1190 kernel (for battery saving)
- Added 1536mhz kernel, will work on most devices but use more battery
- Kernel voltage changes should fix FC for everyone whose phone can handle the undervolt 1190 / 1536 kernel
- Flash keep data supported from 2.51/2.50
Changelog: v2.51
- Kernel changes, increased min voltage on UV kernels
- More devices (almost all) should work with UV1190 and UV1305 kernels
- Some minor tweaks
- lil bit faster
- Battery drain should be improved
Changelog: v2.50
- Added 3 different boot.img files to archive (see above)
- Pulled latest commits from GIT, kernel patches and updates
- Rebuilt rom, stability improved
- Updated to CM 6.1.1 from stock Desire build
- INIT changes for uber fast booting
Changelog: v2.02
- Fixed LED notifications
- Several kernel changes for performance
- Switch to interactive governor for better battery life and improved IO
- INIT changes to decrease boot time slightly
- Added SMU (super mega ultraness)
- Reduced by 2mb
- Fixed netfilter and 60ma after call drain
Changelog: v2.00
- Totally rebuilt from the ground up from latest stable Desire CM build
- Completely removed compcache service for more performance
- Smallest build yet - 321mb free on euro HD2!
- Newer custom kernel + accompanying INIT
- Fastest ROM yet!
Changelog: v1.40
- fixed the broken apps to SD feature
- recompiled kernel with latest GIT commits
- tweaked kernel, rom now more responsive, less battery drain, fixed various issues
- fresh flash required
(old changelogs removed)
FAQ
Q: How to change homescreen dpi?
A: Install Ted (text editor) from market and edit your build.prop or use LCD Density from market.
Q: I have problem with resolution in games.
A: Uncheck compatability mode in spare parts and reboot.
Q: How to keep all the app and settings of the old version?
A: Use MyBackup Pro from Market.
Q: When will FM radio work?
A: When i can get it to work - thats why it has been removed
Q: How to activate battery %?
A: Go to Settings/CyanogenMod settings/user interface/status bar/then click battery %
Q: I'm noticing more battery drain than usuall.
A: You will need to drain/recharge battery before you get full life expectancy out if it - just like any flash.
Q: If you completely run down the battery, would you be able to charge it with the phone again?
A: If your battery is dead, press and hold Vol Down and plug in USB cable / charger at same time. Phone will boot into bootloader and charge there just fine. Leave for 20 mins, pull battery, reboot and charge normally. If phone has just run down, plugging in the charger will usually turn it on.
Q: does it has htc sense?
A: No.
Q: Screenshots?
A: No need, its standard Froyo with ADW launcher
reserved for later use 2
yayy first!!!
Sorry, I hate people who do that but couldn't resist
Sounds interesting, gunna give this a try later, thnx bud, will report any bugs/issues I fine
yayyy, i'm 2nd..lol...me too, fooking hate it, so couldn't resist...downloading - will report back,,,fanks
Cool, i think that when it's not sense, it should be a cyanogenmod
Don't mind making an SD version, for those that are on Windows Phone 7? That would be awesome.
print screens pls?
Yay! Are the pillars of winmo ROM cooking migrating to Android NAND. Not a surprise at all everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. I won't be surprise to see Dutty Throy, Kwbr and the likes here.
all of the apps removed are freely available in the MArket, no need to post them when you can get them from there. You dont need any special ones or anything, whats available in market will work just fine
I removed them because not everyone for example will want Google Voice, or Youtube, or Voice Search............ this way you can choose your own preference.
look good from your feature list
i'm downloading and will try
but
is it data.img, App2SD or data2Ext?
It seems like cm11,and for now thats a solution becose of the instability and general problems of cm12. Having a kitkat development should be great. I tried cm12 for a month but it seems like for the moment cm11 is quietly better. Thats obvious,cm11 is a out form a year and development are in a good stage now. Hope your rom will roon smooth. I'm very excited about that. Keep up the good work,we're wayting for you
You have the PERFECT kernel for kit Kat a.k.a. Perseus ( is it not available ? Rom switcher uses it )
As far as I try, I can't make init.d support for enforcing samsung official LP OA7 to work by editing its ramdisk.
Even using term-init.sh for universal init.d enabler on official rooted OA7 enforcing and prism barebone enforcing, will not work.
Have u tried to enabled it but fail?
I think, maybe becoz your kernel boot at enforcing state.
If you completely remove enforcing and set permissive or disable selinux only, its different story
I'm sorry for my bad english.
If I disable selinux , the kernel would not boot ( I tried doing that ) so I'll see what I can do about booting in the permissive mode itself
And then maybe the code for init .d in the ram disk may work :thumbup:
Yeah i know it sir thanks to Andrei.. But 1 problem is with v19.1 alpha tethering not detected in other device.. I only hope it will fixed soon by Andrei or by other dev.. And Romswitcher v3.1 still need more features i think like zram so swap will work too..
OP updated with second release
changelog :
using LZO compression instead of XZ , kernel is heavier but execution is faster (eg; booting time is less) also this should fix the high battery drain
Kernel boots as permissive
PS:
1) The code in the init.rc does not get executed for init support ( ill work on it soon after my exam in a day or two )
2) Please test the battery life and performance on this one
Thank You
What are the two frequencies available?
The min and max
BTW I found that on some apps the frequency can't be set
For example in aero control you can't set frequency but you can use memory tweaks like ksm on it
On the other hand in no frills you can use only min and max frequency
While on cpu tuner you get three frequencies min , max and 600Mhz
It's your call mate what you want
Second reboot...
^ That is because I removed debugging stuff to make the kernel lighter If I add it ,size would grow (let's see)
What would be cause of reboot...may be ram issue..
Have Stweak support?
THANK YOU SO MUCH <3 I have been dying and searching for a good KERNEL since the stock drains battery just when the screen is turn on for even 5 mins
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN REALLY APPRECIATE IT
OP updated ,
Minor Update , Not much of a changelog present ( just minor changes here and there )
Second post updated with Touchscreeen sensitivity tweak ( this is a must , it makes the whole interface buttery smooth )
and some battery saving defaults ( cause at the end of the day , battery is all that matters)
[MOD] F.u.c.king-Tweaks
Hi guys, I've been working on these for a long time and now finally managed to find best configuration and fix all bugs.
I edited one by one and, after months of hard work, this got where is now
-Battery
-Balanced
-Performance
They do what their name suggest
They tweak:
-Cpu Interactive tweaks(modded by me)
-Battery one will use lowest voltage frequencies
-sysctl
-disable Zram on Battery
-Entropy
-Gpu
-Thermal configs
-sysconfig tweaks(to save battery on deepsleep)
-I/O
-and some in-build configs to kernel
HOW TO INSTALL:
-Make sure you have Magisk v15+ installed
HOW TO UNINSTALL:
-Go into magisk app, click on Modules. Then uncheck F.u.c.king-Tweaks module and click on trash icon. Reboot
Yup. BTW, this build for battery have deepsleep issues. I'm testing a fix for it already.
Balanced and Performance are working great already.
Links updated !
Hey guys! Finally FINAL Version for all of them!!!
Thanks for everyone that tested and helped me doing this tweak.
You can use on all ROMs for Zuk (should work on all SD820 devices but need test)
Issues fixed:
-Deepsleep(was the only bug left btw)
Added thermal mods to all of them, Sun-Cooling to Battery and Balanced one, and Tweaked FSC-Thermal for Performance.
PS: FSC-Thermal is a thermal mod created by Korom42 for Xperia XZ. I ported it and edited some lines(changed sensor too).
LINKS ARE ON FIRST POST(Thread topic message)
hi all,
anyone compare this tweaks vs helix-engine? which one better?
by using this tweaks , i assume whatever rom we are using right now, will have same result for benchmark and battery backup?
Would this also force Doze on Google Play Service? Im using sysconfig patcher on magisk rn and it might conflict with this, so I wanna make sure I can remove that without any downside
This tweak is better
I don't think this tweak will force doze on play service you can remove sysconfig patcher and instal enable doze for gms
Magisk module i am using both modules with no problem
New update is up!
Hi guys, if you follow my projects you know that Sun-Cooling has been updated to v2.2 so I updated Battery and Balanced too.
Performance tweak doesn't need to be updated anymore, as reached it's maximum(maybe I update and spend some more time on it when I have time)
Changelog:
-Changed frequency table on both(they should be more smooth now)
-Added Sun-Cooling v2.2 on both
Hi, quick question, How's this different from the Sun-cooling mod that you have? Because this seems to have all of the features in that plus some more. Which one do I choose?
Hi. So, this tweak is supposed to change a lot of things, I just decided to add Sun-Cooling on it too. In case you want tweak the whole system, flash this. If u want stock configs but only thermal mod, flash Sun-Cooling.
it does overwrite automatically. If u remove this mod, sun-cooling is also gone, so u need to reflash Sun-Cooling.
Yes, both are mine. Sun-Cooling and F.u.c.king-Tweaks are different. F.u.c.king-Tweaks does a lot of changes(and I've included Sun-Cooling inside it too). Sun-Cooling only changes Thermal configs.
Does this mod work along with AKT or have to install it alone?
Guess I'll do it like this.
Seems fine, ty for the kernel from feheroroszorszag
Wew
Eyyyyy
Guess I'll take a reserve too
Edit: Time to use the reserve for a 1st page day 1 review
The kernel is working really well, with everything on stock because of no kernel tweaking.
The biggest improvement is probably standby batterylife and heat, for some reason other 4.4 kernels are really bad at this, resulting in around 20% battery loss overnight
The bad news is that USB tethering is still not working for me on all 4.4 kernels, including this one, so there's that
Slow charging Speed
hello @Star_king12, my device has a rare problem where most of the time when I try to scroll it registers a touch and while playing PUBG the trackpad stutters.
Only your F1XY CAF rev5 kernel fixed it for me and whichever rom I switch your kernel is the only solution.
Now with 4.4 kernel trend, I thought I could use F1XY4.4 for the hiccups but it missed out on the charm which the "3.18 caf rev5" had. So kindly implement the previous fix in your 4.4 edition too.
Need any testing or logcats, ready to cooperate.
I wish I knew what fixed it in that kernel. I'm aware of that issue and we are working with other devs to fix it, however since none of us have a device with such touchscreen, so it's way harder.
With Aex 6.0 new version, There was a problem during charging, you had to have the screen turned on to charge the battery. Installing this Kernel has solved the problem.
