[Q] LG G Pad 8.3 secure booting error cause boot certification verify - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to flash my device to Android 4.4.4 Stock Android(Who likes this annoying LG Bloatware?).
When i wanted to get into Recovery Mode using TWRP the LG Logo pops up and in the top-right corner stands:
"secure booting error cause boot certification verify".
I tried everything i know to get into recovery mode, but nothing helped.

Go through the "first time" recovery manual installation procedure found in the CWM thread for the v500. I'm assuming you have a v500.

I have this problem too. Lg gpad 8.3 vk 810

Thanks a million, after hours trying every single method I found across the Web, this was the only thing that managed to get TWRP 2.8 on my v50020d 4.4.2.
It would be interesting though for us to let us know what exactly is that, because I found many people with the same problem than me, and this appears to be the only solution

Well, my problem it was I was using this method (the only one which do not gave me any explicit error) to install TWRP, and when rebooting to recovery it was always loading the stock recovery. That app solved me that instantaneously.
I was a little scared to see first the message "secure booting error, device unlock, so boot success" but it did loaded after TWRP. I guess that is supposed to be that way.

Yep @Maxxd01 That "secure booting error, device unlock, so boot success" it means it bypass ur bootloader to boot into custom recovery

I think that you were not supposed to use TWRP 2.6.3.0. The correct version is 2.6.3.2. Not sure how to fix your current problem, though.
this message is normal to see if you have twrp installed and try to enter recovery or if you have cyanogen mod 11. Also update your twrp with version 2.6.3.2

yes its normal if you have cm11 to see this message everytime you boot the gpad, it just means that loki is working. Now if he has stock rom it isnt normal to see this message except for when he does the button combo to enter recovery.

Boot security error after trying to install Sling KK ROM

I followed the tutorial at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762171 to install KK ROM on my OG E977, did EXACTLY like written, but then I got stuck at boot screen telling me I have a boot security error, probably due to a locked bootloader, I guess. I try to flash the stock KDZ firmware but KDZ updater offline fix tells me battery level is low when it's not, even when the battery was fully charged.
I can't switch off the phone manually, because it starts again and gets stuck at the LG logo screen with this message:
Secure booting Error!
Cause: boot certification verify
The only way to turn the phone off is with CWM touch recovery 6.0.4.8 by LGviet (after installing the Sling KK ROM or the F180 patch, I guess, because the recovery utility was CWM 6.0.4.7 non-touch installed by FreeGee after unlocking the bootloader.). And when I turn the phone off and plug the charger, the phone boots up by itself and gets stuck at boot security error screen.
I tried to send a CyanogenMod ROM via adb sideload, but it tells me the ROM is for E975, while the phone is a F180 model.
Could someone give me a help, please? Thanks in advance.

How can you boot into recovery once it's in Secure booting error?
Any how fix it using teeny bin repair, it's easy fix.

Or, just as an alternative, find a KDZ that works with the regular KDZ Updater (filesize up to 1.17GB worked for me). This way, as opposed to the offline method with LG Support Tool, you won't get a low battery error, even if the battery is completely dead. Had exactly the same problem myself, this was the solution I used.

[Q] Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify

Hi, I am new to the whole root/custom recovery scene so don't really know what I'm doing, so I tried to use Flashify to flash TWRP on to my international LG G3 running 5.0 (rooted). Unfortunately, when booting into recovery I got a small message in the corner saying Secure booting error! Cause: boot certification verify, before my phone screen went black and my led started flashing blue and red. Holding down the vol - button seemed to fix it and the phone still boots fine, but it does this every time I try to boot into recovery. I just want to play around with custom ROMs and TWRP
Anyone got a fix for this, or know what is going on (bearing in mind that I am a complete noob with this stuff)?
Thanks in advance

I believe you need to use imageprep.

Are you sure it'll be safe, given my current situation? I was led to believe it was an error that I'd only be able to fix with a factory reset.

I have used this method and had no issues. The reason you can't flash it with flashify is because it only works on KitKat for lg g3. People using lollipop has to use image prep method. There should be two tutorials, one for going back to kitkat and one for alowing you to flash it while on lollipop.

OK, just had a read of the Imageprep post and this all seems completely beyond me. Is there an alternative method, or if not, could someone simplify what I'd need to do with Imageprep to get TWRP working on 5.0?

TWRP Issue

Hello all,
I'm making this thread because i have an issue with my Recovery. Long story short:
I've successfully rooted my LG G3 D855. I've SU and rootacces. After this point i've used TWRP Manager to install TWRP. The application gave me a green sign that it installed successfully.
The problem at the moment is when i try to boot into recovery i can see this message: Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify.
After that the screen goes black and i can see a green and red LED flashing. The strange part is that i can still load in to download mode and i can use the phone normally.
I found a post by using google that use OneClick_Root_recovery but i'm not sure if i am safely use this since it will root the phone first(This has already been done).
I've also tried ImagePrePGUIv2.5 and chose the twrp only option. Sadly i still have the same problem.
Is there someone on XDA that have had this issue or someone that can help me resolve the problem?
Thank you for reading my post.
Have a nice day,
Thomas

which bootloader do you have?( on whick version did you root you phone 20x or 10x)
if you did it on 20x you need to flash the kitkat bootloader(there is a thread for that somewhere in lg g3 general )

Here is your answer
Pick your model and download AutoRec
Since you are just Rooting now i am assuming you are on Lollipop so this is perfect for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/apk-flash-twrp-autorec-thanks-to-t3081396
I want to thank you both because it's working !
This might be a newbie question but i'm a safe to install a rom now?
The reason i'm asking this question is because i totally forgot the bootloader when i started rooting and i'm wondering if i forgot something .

Ahhh great to hear! I was thinking about installing the current rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/development-d855-resurrection-remix-5-0-t2968533.
Do you maybe have a suggestion for a different rom or is this a really good rom?
Thanks again!
Thomas

"Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify" LG G3 D855

Hi everyone, I've spent the entire weekend trying to get my head around fixing this one...
My lg g3 was rooted with kingroot, i found an app called super sume which said it could switch king root to su... something went wrong on installation and when its booted up the phone wouldn't get a signal or even access the home screen. I've attempted flashing, recovery mode and download mode and each of them give me the dreaded error message "Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify" in the top left hand corner of my screen. Nothing seems to work any help would be appreciated. thanks

Are you able to enter download mode?
If you enter download mod, can flash a kdz and. Also flash a different kdz file. For example if you are on 30b flash 30c...if you have twrp recovery flash sharpening mod.zip file from recovery
