Build AOSP Lollipop ROM - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Devs,
I think the new Lollipop version is great but at the moment we only have CM12 ROMs for our S4 Mini. Can someone of you build a pure AOSP Lollipop ROM for our device that other dev's can use as base for other ROMs? I do not like CM and at the moment I'm using SlimKat but it looks like there is no update to SlimLP in the next days so it would be great if someone can build a pure AOSP LP ROM.
I would do it for myself but I have no experiance in ROM development. I found this thread but I'm not sure how to add our device. Also I found this and this repo on GitHub but I do not know which from them (or maybe both?) I need to compile the ROM or if I have to change something on them because they are for CM and not for AOSP. It would be great if someone can teach me these steps because this is often my problem when I try to learn something about Android ROM developemnt.
Yours sincerely
Cilenco

Cm12 at the moment is just aosp, give it a try it's very good

[Q] Build AOSP ROM

Hello Developers
is someone able to create an AOSP (KitKat 4.4) ROM for our Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini? It would be great if we have a "vanilla" Android version for our Smartphone and this can be used as base for other ROMs. Would be great if someone could build it
Greetings

Most ROM are based on AOSP or CM (which CM is based on AOSP) :/
And if you want a minimum ROM, there's few ROMs are even less 'bloat' and more 'vanilla' than AOSP itself.
I think he meant that he wanted an actual aosp rom, not just an aosp based rom. While we don't have a pure "aosp" rom for our phones, cyanogenmod is pretty close, slimkat is also pretty bare if you're into that. I'm sure a lot of people could port it, it just remains to be seen if any developer is interested enough to actually do it.
Yes a pure AOSP ROM would be great. The whole ROMs which are aviable for our device are based on AOSP so I think it wouldn't be so difficult to build one from AOSP isn't it?

Slim kat is equal to Slim ROM? In that case there is already a port to the S4 mini in the developer section of this forum

[Q] Android 5.0 AOSP

Hi,
I know, that sooner or later there will be a CM ROM based on Android 5.0 for our n7100. But it will be really nice to see pure AOSP ROM, compiled from sources of 5.0. I don't know, if is it possible, so I'm posting a question about it.
I remember I had i9000 long time ago, and somebody created AOSP 4.0 ROM for it - that was the best, most stable and fastest ROM I've ever used on i9000. Compiled from Google sources, without any add-ons. Hope to see Android 5.0 AOSP for n7100 sometime...

Wich rom do you want me to build for G8?

Hi.....Im new to this device...and I want to build roms based on @surdu_petru (great) work. I want to try to make roms like Omnirom, SlimRom and DirtyUnicorns but I dont have a lot of HDD space, so...I have to choose 2 roms.
Please vote for the rom you want to see in G8.
Im not a dev...I build roms for n7100 in the past...so I wil TRY to build for this device.
beanstalk - i got this one
hi
really thanks for your efforts.
but I think that if someone tries on developing other Huawei's ROM for this device such as mate series with android 7 and emui5 it would be amazing...
we all will be grateful if you try on this.

Any custom ROM development other than CM/Lineage?

Just curious if there is any custom ROM development for AOSP, Slim, Omnirom going on? Would be good to have other base's set up for our device and being maintained as it would give more options.
AFAIK no. Even if there were its 99% chance that it is based on CM/Lineage and has changes that just add some stuff but dont go really far from them.
The ideal scenario would be to have an pure AOSP ROM so that anyone can have a clean and easy start to build upon.
So far I think ParanoidAndroid is the only ROM that is also based on AOSP and goes side-to-side with CM/Lineage but currently they don't officially support HTC 10.
Although, I think I saw a branch for pme on their Github so you never know...
There's slim,aokp,and acip N here. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=search&s=Pme&type=files
Just search 'pme'
But I believe they are CM based . I am too waiting for pure AOSP .

Build liquid smooth, resurrection remix KK roms I9192

Can anyone build liquid smooth or resurrection remix Kitkat Rom For I9192??
I Have tried all LP & MM roms, all are start lagging after a 2 or 3 days of usage. kitkat roms are Lag free and best in battery life. Pac Rom is good but Don't have more features.

Sorry but no time. Also, this requires Java 6 or 7 vs the Java 8 needed for N
This sounds like a good project for you guys to get your feet wet in ROM building. Follow this excellent guide @k2wl made for CM 11, just change the repo links from Cyanogenmod to what you want to build. Also, you will have to make some minor changes in the device tree, you can follow the example of a device that already has that ROM. This is exactly how I started, 1 year ago I had no clue what github is, what is a repo or a commit
Personally I prefer PAC, back in KK days it was still a good ROM and I disagree that it doesn't have enough features. This is what I run on my tablet still.
Update: I just looked at Liquid Smooth and RR github, neither one has a KK branch. I am not familiar with their history, but both seem to have started with LP
