AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Recommended Gapps: opengapps.org

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

Great. I'll give this a try when I get a chance. I use ACIP regularly on my LG G3. I'm not sure understand your comment about the gapps ("They seem to cause more frequent random reboots"). Should we use them, or some other ones?

Hey about the bluetooth issue you can look into the Lollipopalooza Rom thread. I think there is a fix for it.

I tried those GApps but I got alot of random reboots(More then with no Gapps). Those are the only 64bit Gapps that I know of. If you know any other 64bit Gapps feel free to share.

You can try the 320dpi minimal gapps version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
It has armv7 google play services but when you log in to your google account it automatically installs the armv8 google play services version (that takes a while) and after that everything works.
I haven't had any random reboots using pure aosp rom.
Ah and by the way can you list some features of your rom somewhere?

OK, another build made. Hopefully bluetooth is fixed on this one. If you want to test it out before I do, PM me and I'll send you the build.

It is currently based off of CM so you have all of those features, There is also various stuff like network speed meter.

I used it for about three hours of typical use with zero issues, no apps closing. The install hiccuped a little and I had to reboot, once and then it rebooted after I entered my wifi password, but the rest has been smooth sailing.
I rarely use bluetooth - I just turned it on to see what happened. The tablet shut down and then every time I rebooted it would shut down after a few seconds, so I finally wiped it. So I just won't use bluetooth. It's just great to have a new ROM to play with and a last app button.
One weird thing - the first item under "AICP extras" is "various s**t." WTH(eck)?

Hey man great job with this and thanks so much, quick questions though, does this build any different for a 64bit device than it does for 32 bit? Because if its not much different then I'm going to start CM tonight
EDIT: I apolagize,I am stupid and do not like reading OP's
I am going to start syncing the repos though, if I'm super duper lucky maybe I can get a build by tomorrow, I hope you don't mind if I use some of your resources c:
Also why is SELinux disabled? incompatibility?

you will find that u will get a fair few errors. One is due to kernel. another is due to dsp manager and there is another. I had been working on the same myself today

CM should build build fine with the cm-12.0-prebuilt branch (don't forget to sync device/htc/flounder-kernel) but I'll check it out myself. Alot of my changes I made to get build working I have already submitted and have been merged to CM. But this one has not: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/83064/
To cherry pick (this specific change) change the first line to fit your enviornment
Code:
cd ~/android/cm12/
cd bionic
git fetch http://review.cyanogenmod.org/CyanogenMod/android_bionic refs/changes/64/83064/1 && git cherry-pick FETCH_HEAD
I will check this out myself to see if there are any bugs in the build process.
At request I can also post my roomservice.xml

Out of interest, What Gapps did you use?
There is are various mods unber "Various ****" like network speed meter.

Any chance a kernel free version of this could be posted, or someone could explain how to remove the kernel from the update zip? I wanted to maintain decryption, and I'm sure many others would like to as well.
Also, is the SELinux disabling in the kernel, or the rom? Would like to continue to use elemental with this build.

I used the full gapps package linked from the PA site, the largest one.

SELinux is disabled in the kernel, technically, you should be able to just flash ElementalX after flashing the rom.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 6 (Marshmallow)?
A: Yes, this is Android 6.0.1
Q: What code is Oct-M based on?
A: Starting with Oct-L, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 12 code. Oct-M is based on CyanogenMod 13.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But XYZ and all the others have..
A: ROM developers build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-M.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favourite opegapps package http://opengapps.org
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
The Oct-M ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-M available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-M builds use the device's stock CyanogenMod 13 kernel.

I'm guessing he's talking about the battery predictor. I find it's completely incorrect in how much time it predicts. I had 60% left and it gave me something like 7 hours once and 1.5 hours the other time.

Battery is a YMMV depending on use I never really look at battery issue unless I see I have a drain and with this being an S3 when I had mine still I had battery life always between 4-12 hrs depend on SOT, apps running, radio connection (4g-lte).

Kernel Auditor & Device control work flawlessly on tho ROM, no probs at all. Kernel tweaker & others need to be updated.
Day 2 running this and it's settled in quite nicely WiFi and signal were touch and go at first, now running extremely well. This is now my daily driver and I couldn't be happier Great work! Looking forward to the updates.

AGREED! Best damn ROM out for our aging old school device! No disrespect to any others, this ones just MY personal favorite! Plus the devs behind it are kick ass as well!???
Running the Shift-D2-SE kernel @rogersb11 with default scheduler and governor settings. Not a full day on it yet but already a noticeable improvement in battery life Going to try out the Shift-D2-3.0 later and compare.
Running Shift-3.0 kernel now. After a full day everything running great! Already getting good battery life and running smooth. Just noticed it's running default at 1881 MHz. Backed it down a little and expecting even better battery life As far as ROMs go, this one is still top dog IMO:thumbup:

I've been fumbling around with the system tuner and can't find an option to change the open app animation. I went through all the animation options and could not find it. Is it not included yet or am I missing something?

This may b be a stupid question but does the kernel in this rom force encryption? I'm just so used to it on my Nexus 6, I've got to ask.
"Chance Favor the Prepared"
force encryption - not here
This is an awesome rom and is running perfectly. Thank you for this.
Also, about the forced encryption, I asked only because I have been burned before on it. Thank you for the quick response.
My tablet is now like a new one.

I did a full wipe then install the ROM and gaps and supersu and then booted, it is taking an awful long time on the Android boot animation. Been 30mins so far....
ideas?

Still not getting passed Android boot animation. I've got latest TWRP. I've wiped each filesystem in turn. Then flashed aicp_manta_mm-11.0-UNOFFICIAL-20151229.zip , then flashed BaNkS_Dynamic_GApps_6.x.x_12-22-15_23_20.zip, then flashed BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip.
Any pre-req I missed?

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

You tell...
ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow.

I have not had the data usage provider crash on me however,so I don't know what to say about that.

Yeah, I've never used this ROM before, but I really really like it.
You can't find kminilte on the AICP download page because it is not officially supported.I just built it for our device as a request really. So it's completely normal that's it's not on the download page there.

FM-Radio is something that afaik is missing because of missing drivers. So at this point only way to use it is sticking to stock rom. Else you can try internet radio apps. I am not entirely sure though, as I dont use it anyways, but I think to remind discussion about it in cm12.1 / early cm13 development. You could search those threads for fm-radio, maybe you get some more information :good:
*edit*
Nevermind..apparently the phone doesnt even have a radio receiver  never used stock, I guess there wont be a radio-app as well, can someone confirm that?

I mostly agree with this.Depends what you want though.Slim is well..slim
They have added more customization though.I need to update slim..Alpha 0.4 is broken,so I'm hoping alpha 0.5 will work.
@zaworka turned me on to RR.It was my favorite.I have been using this however and like it a lot.All personal preference.
I just built OctOs ROM and am currently using that now.I like it a lot as well. I just like trying new things perhaps.I will post that up here if all seems good with it after I test a little bit.
I updated my kernel build to work with this ROM. If interested

Hey poncz3k, Thanks man. AICP has been working fine for me. Battery backup is moderate. No force closes, no major bugs. Only one ting I have noticed is that I had some problems with internet. Sometimes it shows internet range but I'm not able to browse. Once I set device to airplane mode and turn back off, internet resumes. I'm not sure if its the issue with ROM. Needs to be confirmed.
Thanks for this awesome port...
GPS fixes are dodgy. RIL/WiFi is sketchy at best. I have logs for all of the above. Logs keep mentioning signal strength out of range - dropped. The first build was working all right. The updates not so much. Build was clean flashed on top of 1450updater zip. Data remains in off mode if I leave WiFi zone. Airplane mode on/off brings it back. Sending via AICP log that sh1t as well.
GPS issues?
Ive been on AICP for a few weeks now and cant find any faults in it besides one. single. thing.
GPS
its horrendous. It "works" for simple things like a speedometer, but it fails to work for g maps, or any navigation based tasks.
Is there a fix for this (Im talking about NOT 7.1.1)
and is this problem still occuring in 7.1.1?

this is an issue on MOST 7.1.1 ROMS I assume it will be a wait until PA/NextBit come out with their kernel so that the appropriate patches sit in place for the GPS to work smoothly. More importantly until CAF releases their secret sauce for our device on the 7.1.x node. As of right now that only exists for the 7.0 node and Google as brilliant as they are changed a fair few things between the two. FYI another dev has moved to a whole new tree build thanks to this... Maybe that kernel could be forked here so that this dev can use it... But that would be up to them. In general though this is a good stable ROM

Apparently this has something to do with NextBit's implementation of GPS. I'm not a Dev so I don't know the details. I'm just a tester. However I can be pretty sure it isn't the Devs fault. Considering for the most part the GPS just "works". One of the Devs is building a fresh kernel from scratch. Maybe we can request him to share it for other Devs to use?
The latest nightly (1/21) fixed almost all the problems i've been having. Much less laggy, still not quite buttery. WiFi seems to be a bit iffy, but that was also the case on aokp, crdroid, and omni. Sometimes apps refresh (especially hangouts), might be a RAM problem, i dunno.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)

- Flash recommended GAPPS linked below
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**

This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Hi dude! This rom it's awesome! No bugs and Simple with not heavy features. So only one thing if you please can improve the battery consuming because sometimes have good battery saving and sometimes have heavy high consuming its the only one
I am using it from couple of days. Performance and Ram management is good. Battery backup is good till now.
Using with OpenGapps pico, Magisk 13.1, Viper4android via ARISEMagnumOpus, Subtratum. Everything works fine.
Nice work, man! Was looking DU for my mom's Titan and now I've found it! Please don't leave the project!

First boot takes longer than other ROMs. Just wait, it will work.
The latest 11.7 version has some bugs, like disappearing widgets and force crashes... I tried 11.5 from jackcicci, and it has a crashing EQ... Now, I'll try 11.6... LOL

I've been using 11.7 for a week now. Everything good.
Using Pico gapps with magisk and xposed. Maybe something on your side?

Are you using the default launcher??
I tried everything... Even without substratum, everytime I run a game or reboot the phone, all widgets are gone... Also, the phone freezes and lags from time to time on 11.7.
With 11.5 and 11.6 everything's fine at least on this... I guess I'll stick to 11.6 then... This ROM is awesome!

I don't play games so I don't know if it's because of that. I'm not using default launcher. I'm always switching between action launcher or Nova (I've removed the inbuilt launcher). Which gapps are you using? Tried with Pico?
