you forget to flash the kernel from inside the rom zip. these roms REQUIRE custom kernel.
kernel on xperia2011 needs to be flashed manually via fastboot on pc or via flashtool.
good luck

Boot loader must be unlocked to install custom ROM's.
Does the docomo differ from the xperia arc? I have this and tried flashing lt15a ICS and it seems to hang, this does have a unlocked bootloader, does anyone have any advice?
bump, please help!
Hmmmm...I guess it is different, I'm a foreigner in Japan with an Arc, always try and avoid Japan specific phones. But you could always try other roms if your bootloader is unlocked. Good luck!

Hello world,
I want to install this custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993)
The problem is that i'm running the official 2.4.3 android version from sony. They still haven't released the update to ICS for my country
My bootloader is locked and i'm unable to unlock it without paying (Bootloader unlock allowed: No)
Is it possible that i install any custom kernels? Or can i maunally update to ICS, and get the stock ICS kernel? I would install the custom rom with the stock ICS kernel.
I would be thankful if you send me a link for downloading the official ICS and its kernel.
My phone is the Xperia Arc S (LT18i)
Thanks!
No unlocked bootloader, no custom kernel.

Yes, if it is fully stock and officially signed kernel.
That is - you can only flash that kernel via Flashtool .FTF file.
No other way.

Would you please send me a link where I can download the stock kernel?
And, do you recommend updating my xperia to ICS?

No - ICS on the 2011 Xperia line-up is worthless and not worth it.

Thanks for clearing that up.

If you do want to give ICS a try, flash tool is the first link. The second link is ftf file for LT18i. (The kernel is embedded in to the ftf file). Flash tool is very simple and walks you through the steps.

Every fully stock and signed kernel can be installed with locked bootloader. GB and ICS.
Hi there, I have some questions about roms of sony xperia s.
where can I get the newest offical firmware like this: LT26i(4.0.4)_6.1.A.2.55_Generic_SG(1257-6921).rar (.elf file)
can I use Flashtool to flash these offical firmware ?
what dose ICS17.elf mean? I have flashed this file by using fastboot, and got my phone rooted and got a CMW recovery.
many thanks

If you've flashed the ics17 kernel then you've unlocked the bootloader yes?

I need official Sony 's rom.
I see. Then flashing the 55 ftf would be best. How come you must have Sony only?

Hi guys! I'm sorry, my question may be strange, but I'm not powerful in a questions about firmware.
I have Sony Xperia acro hd SO-03D. Bootloader unlock allowed NO.
How can I install CM on my device? Or can I install firmwares of the Xperia Acro S? Becouse docomo latest version is 4.0.4 and Acro S latest is 4.1. I would be have custom firmware.

you can only install stock based JB 4.1.2 from Xperia Acro S and it is a little bit risky.. you can brick your phone.. CM roms requires unlocked bootloader.. :/
