[Q] Motherboard replacement: VS985 to LS990 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I'm a new to the forum, have read forums here to help me root other phones, ect. Anyway, I bought a G3 yesterday and it has a cracked digitizer. I want to replace it with an oem display, and I found the display and front bezel for sale on ebay from a demo phone. My question is, although the phone I have is Verizon (VS985) can I swap my motherboard into the Spring (LS990) housing? I wouldn't think there is any differences between bezels and cable sockets? Most of the cheap aftermarket digitizers on ebay say that they are for a variety of models, but I found one that said it would only fit the LS990 and not the VS985...which sparked my concern. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
-Joe

Digitizer and Housing for Rhodium (TMOUS)

I dropped my Rhodium on asphalt.....its operational but there are scratches on the right edge of the digitizer and housing. Anyone knows where I can buy a digitizer and housing parts for a T-Mobile US Touch Pro 2? The housing and digitizer is a little different from the other Touch Pro 2s

So guys, is there a chance to get a housing and specificaly for the T.-Mobile HTC TP2 and If there is not, is it possible to convert the T-Mobile version into standard one? Using stanard housing and digitizer... ??
Thanks alot for your reply
The button layout and the shape is a little different between the T-Mobile US version and the HTC gsm version.....I already did my research.
But where to get that housing...
It seems that I have found a guy on ebay who is able to get me the Digitizer, but not the housing...
You found a digitizer? PM me the name of the seller if he has more.
As for the housing, how about using a T-Mobile TP2 display housing since there is none available yet? I saw a couple of Ebay sellers with dummy displays

Only one seller right now.
I have been buying some parts off eBay for my original Tilt and some from another website www.fonlogix.us
FonLogix also has instructional videos of how to dismantle the phone but I think those are the Wiki's here too.
I have not checked to see whether fonlogix has parts for the TP2, as modified by Tmo. I have to order parts for a BB Curve later so I will check but you can check them out. You can also google it. There are a number of companies that are selling the parts for phones.

Well am awaiting the photos of that digitizer first. If he will send me those, then am gonna give you his contact on eBay..
Do you think that those dummy phones uses the real Housing? If so, than its a awesome idea, but am raelly not sure about it...
And the second problem is, that they do not ship outside US
If you are getting both the Digitizer & Housing you should be able to use any one that doesn't have the headphone jack hole. The internal guts "should be the same. The main difference is the T-Mobile one has a different digitizer & bezel. Just my thought on this.

Well, the housing is a actual problem, as long as I cant find it anywhere.
As what I have heard, the backplate and battery cover should hass the same dimensions and the only thing that is different is the front bezel and the digitizer, that has got different buttons position. ( at least the Tmobile version looks nicer to me
did any one have any luck with housings or if a dummy phone will work

Thats actually pretty reasonable price. A guy on Swedish forum got quoted 1800:- for repairing the display for his phone that dropped and broke. Getting a display from that site would be 650:- including shipping.
I ended up doing it myself, it wasn't pleasant as there were no walk-through videos at the time, but it was doable, I would recommend having $20 worth of "pro" tools from eBay before the attempt, not all the crappy ones that came in the kit.
Just bought one used. Sceeen was shattered and body was a little warped.
I thought it was due to the glass expanding after it shattered.
Anyways I got the screen replaced. But the body is still slightly curved
I think its the housing/bezel I need to change now.
If anyone knows where I can get one let me know, please.
Sent from my LG-E973 using xda app-developers app
Do you know where I can get a battery cover for E971 or E973?
I've been looking for it everywhere, but it seem to be either out of stock or it is shipped in 10pcs minimum.
Found one on www.partshe.com.
Well I've ordered back for E971, and received for E975. It fits but I am disappointed.
Not from you. Anyway, it is really weird that everybody sells bodys only for E975 and cameras for E970-973.
LG Optimus G Sprint LS970, E973, F180 LCD displays are interchangeable?
Any idea when you are getting more back covers in stock?
Found some more back covers here

[Q] Where to buy a replacement digitizer

I just bought a replacement digitizer that didn't work and I rather not make that mistake twice so the question is: Where can I buy a working digitizer for reasonable money? If anyone got any experience with a good seller from ebay, ali-express I'd like to know. Thanks.

Broken display

Hi everyone,
Unfortunately my Find 7A display broke today when it slipped from my hand. I felt the display is a lot more fragile than my previous phones (LG G2 and Samsung S3) which had also fell down strongly many a times but nothing really had happened. So called up the oppo service centre here in India to find out that the cost for the replacement is $170 which i feel is a little to expensive considering the price of the new phone And i dont think i will buy oppo phones again in future as i felt the display glass is too fragile and too expensive for the replacement. Well i looked up on the web and saw a couple of websites selling the display at around $75. But i am not sure which display to order as my phone's model number is Find 7A X9006 and most of the displays i saw on the web were X9007. So i wanted to know if any one knows the difference between the two. Or is it okay if i order the display of X9007 and then put it on to my X9006. Any help is really appreciated !! Thanks.
x9007 and x9006 share the exact same display.

Replacement screen?

Like batteries, buying a good replacement screen for a G4 is hit and miss. Can you recommend a good quality replacement screen to buy?
Amazon...they're all the same been through 3 already

Don't use fixez they sell substandard screens the one i bought was not even gorillas glass even though they claim OEM.
Replacement screen would cost you almost as much ($25+) as many of the used LG G4 on eBay going for. I recently bought 2 of these phones for less than $40 each on eBay. Another option where you for sure get an oem original screen is buying a bootloop phone online very cheap and salvage the screen from there.
Would Ebay be the best place to buy a bootloop bricked G4? An advantage is I could just take the working board from my G4 and drop it into the replacement without having to completely disassemble.
