Honestly we need a dedicated thread on this. All other LTE threads are all off topic from the original post. This should also remain in the General thread as it needs attention. While it is a question, I think the General forums are best for this topic as it will encompass all aspects of the release such as the LTE outrage and the likes.
I think it should also be stickied for a specific time as tons of US users like me keep hovering on XDA to get an answer.
I also just called a few stores and got Tuesday the 13th from 2 of them.

On a more serious note, I would like to know why Verizon Won't take my money yet?
Maybe the 9th, possibly the 13th, could very well be the 15th. Those are the latest round of rumored dates and beyond that the Big Red exec said they wanted it out by EOY. I'm hoping Tuesday, but disappointment is running rapid these days so anything goes.

I am looking to buy a galaxy note.
Thing is, I noticed the galaxy note 2 came out October of last year? Would it be smarter to wait for the Note 3? I sure will root my phone..so will I be able to get a galaxy note 3 Rom to work on the note 2? The processor seems like it will be a good one for at least a few years..so no need to worry about hardware getting out of date?
Recap of my questions

2. Do you think the hardware will go out of date within the year?
3. Do you think I can get a galaxy note 3 rom to work on the note 2?

I've had the GN2 since release date and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again today. It runs quick and will not be outdated within the year IMHO.
The newly announced G4 is sweet but has no SPEN (many don't even use it...I do) and a .5" smaller screen then the GN2
No one really knows about the GN3 so it's hard to answer those questions.
In my view, I would not wait for the GN3 since so little is known and assumptions it will be even bigger:cyclops:
I mean look at your Samsung choices.
Galaxy S3 - now older but still sweet,
Galaxy S4 - new, sweeter, larger screen,
Note 2 phablet - Sweetest of them all in my opinion.
Note 3 - unknown and assume many many many months away

In answer to question 1, I brought a note 2 Saturday... Don't regret it one bit! Life's too short to be waiting around for the next best thing, go buy one and enjoy it while you can! If a galaxy note 2 ticks all the boxes for what you want/need from a phone, then I say go for it.. I did!
Also,on a side note the specs packed into this phone will be good for a while yet, so I wouldn't worry about that either!

1. How bad do you want a Note? Hardware will always refresh on a 12-18 month cycle, if not sooner.
2. See #1. Hardware is outdated within months of it being released. It's the way of the industry.
3. Depends on the Dev (or if you are one yourself). I wouldn't count on it though. Third party roms are never a sure thing, especially cross-platform.
4. Depends on your need. I recently upgrade from the i-727 to the Note 2. No regrets whatsoever.
Can we possible create a new section for Verizons Dev Note 4 Edition and anything related to the Dev Edition to go there? It'll keep everything organized distinguishing the retail and dev edidtion. I get bummed out big time when I see "Root / TWRP (wait for it...) Dev Edition ONLY" dang that's a huge bummer for me as a retail user. I don't know... It's just a suggestion, not a complaint lol

I feel your pain being a Verizon Note 3 owner and there being Dev Edition only threads for my device as well...but that's just the way it's going to be. There's nowhere near enough activity to justify an entirely different section for the dev edition devices, especially since nearly everything in the regular threads applies to the Dev Edition.
I moved this from General to Q&A because it's really a question, not "informational" in nature as most things in the General section should be. Also, thread closed because there doesn't really need to be much discussion about this - it's the policy of the forums..
I'm thinking about getting this phone when it gets released but would hold off if there will be a Pro version released before 2020. I have searched this and even chatted with OnePlus customer service but they are tight lipped. Does anyone know if the next phone will be 7T Pro or 8?
