SPH710T-(sprint prepaid) ODIN prob - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I bought this samsung galaxy the T model. I rooted using ODIN>CWM>SUPERSU. Now i want to install wickedXrom but I have to update the bootloader to ND8 I believe or else risk bricking my phone. I've downloaded the philz recovery to odin flash it to my phone, but it doesnt show up after I click AP on ODIN, even though i have TWO philz recovery files in the folder. I tried removing ".md5" from the name and it turned into a zip file and that didnt help at all. The problem I'm having is with oDIN. If i try to flash "L710-ND8-Bootloader" I get a fail. If i try to flash philz it wont even show up under pda...
I've been researching and looking around for hours now before i finally decided to make a post.

It's good you're getting a fail. This doesn't apply to the L710T Model. Simply go to post #4 of my thread and there is a link to a tutorial on how to flash with the L710T Model. I'll update the OP to include this information so no one gets confused.

P.S. I was trying to load TWRP via ODIN on stock firmware. It was flashed. But when i was entering recovery, i was getting stock recovery from samsung. So i decided that recovery is locked somehow and i need to load insecure boot first. Am i right?

First I'm thinking your going to need to root your device. Start HERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33854391
Yes you can load TWRP onto your firmware with Odin. Hopefully that was a tar file you were using!! Because if not that's why it didn't work for you!
I only really use Odin if I run into a BIG problem or need too return to fully stock firmware!!
Since it didn't work right with Odin.
After you root your device then all you'll need to do is install goo manager, install open recovery from there done.
TWRP found HERE :

TWRP needs root...or it won't persist after boot ..
Run CF auto root....
Allow the device to boot itself ...
Then power down and enter download mode and flash your custom recovery ....g

1. Download full ROM, verify MD5 checksum and copy to phone SD storage. And download GApps and do the same. Also download the FL24 Modem as you will need that as well.
2. Download and copy Jellybean X2 Format utility to SD storage: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077277
3. Install EL29 Directboot kernel. It can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662295
( Look for: GB - Direct Boot CWM )
Note: .tar file is for flashing with Mobile Odin, .zip is for flashing in recovery (you probably don't have one), and .exe file is for flashing with Odin on PC.
4. Reboot into recovery, flash JB X2 Format then the ROM. You may flash the modem at this point if you like (required to run CM), but no other mods until ROM has fully booted the first time.
***Note- EL29 cannot flash modems- however, you can always flash it after the ROM boots with the built-in recovery***
5. Let ROM boot fully and settle for a couple of minutes during the initial boot. (It will take around 10 minutes)

[Q] Help with Odin

I'm desperately trying to root my Sprint S3 on 4.3.
Two different methods so far required to use Odin to flash a recovery, but Odin hangs every time at "recovery.img".
I have my drivers installed, Debugging enabled, and my phone shows in Odin as "0:[com4]".
I dont have clue why it hangs every time and its really aggravating. Can someone please help? I'll be sure to give everyone who tries to a thanks.
Are you putting the tar file in the pda slot?

Yep. Here's a screenshot. Its in the AP section because I tried on a newer version of ODIN, same result.

Do you have a good cable? Most people like the BlackBerry cables and most have problems using the cable supplied with the phone for more than charging.

You will want Odin v. 3.07, not the v. 3.09. Also, there is a much newer version of Philz available, it is 6.15.7 and is a d2lte version. Link for Philz thread is in my signature in order to access the newest version. Make sure the Auto Reboot box is unchecked in Odin, or else the phone will reboot automatically too early in the process. If it works properly, the green Pass message should show after two minutes, and then you can use your custom recovery to flash the SuperSU zip file to achieve root.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I dont think its the Odin version, because I tried first on 3.07 and had the exact same result. I had autoreboot unchecked previously, I guess I had forgotten it in the time I took the screenshot.
I think I've narrowed it down to the generic cable, but I'll download your updated version and give it a try anyways. Thanks!
----edit---
Well something new... its at least telling me it failed sometimes. But other times it still hangs.

I own a p5220 too, here whats I recommend you to do, download stock firmware here:
I THINK YOU BETTER DOWNLOAD ANDROID 4.4.2 KIT KAT VERSION AND I CAN GIVE YOU THE ROOT FILE I USED ON MY DEVICE!
Firmwares for P5220 *You will need to register* :
Gt-P5220:http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-P5220/
and choose the one matches your region and flash it via odin (extract the .tar.md5 from the zip and select pda and tick auto reboot and F.Reset Time)
and you will get a total clean stock recovery and maybe a stock clean rom too.
then here is whats next,
download this, its a TWRP Recovery for P52xx series: chrome://mega/content/secure.html#!kEUzAS5a!a6TA0xuSg-pEYxSmZxnjmcB7cNOwRCZ_MqMiwXvD65c
extract the .tar.md5 from the zip and flash it with odin (Untick auto reboot) and it in to the pda section and flash it.
you should get the twrp recovery.
and you should be able to boot into twrp recovery
UPDATE.ZIP (THE ROOT FILE FOR ANDROID KITKAT p5220)
Thanks i will try it tonight and will write if it worked.
The link for TWRP did not work.
And the superSU am i going to copy to my sd card without unzip and install from TWRP.
Am i right ???

How did you revert back to oi6 ?
I used gameronone's no wipe oi6 tar......and was able to revert back! I had to take the chance because my phone was pretty screwed up! Lol
I agree I screwed up with the note 5 rom but I believe aio6 and ajo6 is not much different cause I reflashed aio6 after updating to aj06 and it let me downgrade with no issue. Use odin and the aio6 no wipe tar to back to stock
