[Kernel][CM12] - For F240x - updated [08/02/2015] - LG Optimus G Pro

thought this should help all of us F240 out there, at last, someone made a CM12 kernel for f240, got this from chinese F240 forum, according to the author its a custom job combining the official E980 CM12 ramdisk and cantata kernel, includes call Volume fix patch from wangsai008
recommend a clean wipe, install a cm12 rom and any 5.0 gapps (i used minimal ones), then apply this patch at last
i've installed on TWRP 2.8.1.0 with official E98x CM12, had no issues personally, sound, gps, youtube, deep sleep works fine, didnt test BT, your mileage may vary.
should work for all F240 variants, test and see
EDIT:updated 08/02/2015 to match current official CM12, should fix compatibility issues on newer nightlies , test and see(like deep sleep)

is Batery good ?

Be wary friend, you lack sources and mod may remove your thread for that.
On another note, where can I get my hands on the official F240 ramdisk? I have been looking to support F240 devices with my kernel but have been unsuccessful thus far.

yes i know but due to the sources in chinese and the download requires password it didnt seem easy to link to, i thought alot of people must be after it so i decided to share separately instead
as for official f240 ramdisk, not sure if 5.0 is even out, but mostly custom jobs like in Blisspop for f240 or the one i uploaded

You made a kernel for f240? Perhaps you can help me! How did you do it? Ramdisk changes? I already have a defconfig for f240.

report
First of all, thank you for your great work.
It's been working great with f240 so far until cm12 nightly 20150202.
But it is broken since 20150203, systemUI keep terminates.

update kernel please

theres 2 new roms by wangsai008 which updates f240 kernel on latest cm12 rom and newest Mokee version for f240
its not straight forward download and is in chinese, keep eyes peeled ill make a new thread soon.

updated kernel uploaded

im confused, can you do fresh install from wipe and install cm12 ONLY, over write with blisspop then cm12 thats just asking for nightmare
i cant guarantee blisspop but the kernel was made partly from official CM12 rom(e980), even though blisspop is cm12 sourced, i still recommend backing up your blisspop rom, test with official cm12 from clean state, do not dirty install between different roms.

Test Lollipop Custom ROMs

HI all! I just saw a test build from COMMOTIO for the E980! And it is LOLLIPOP! B74 is out now in their latest nightly experimental. Anyone who wants to test it just go to their download links!
I can't test it properly as I have F240. So anyone with E980 can test it!
Well I tried it. Smooth and good looking, though more stock than custom. Of course since I use F240, I have no sound and external SD is not being read.

Hmm. Around 5 - 6 minutes. It takes long but it's worth it.
If anyone can build/port a Lollipop kernel for F240, then it would be freaking awesome. Even the stock L ROM is gorgeous.

I use Philz Touch and it works well. It's for E980.
I know it is still early days, but anyone who has run this rom for 1 day , 'feels' any improvement in battery life? Project volta was touted as a big part of the lollipop update
Since the e980 has a CM12 device tree up there on Github, doesn't that mean anyone can compile the kernel to use with any CM build with it now? (The only CM I've built was Pac-man a few weeks back, so I'm fresh fish in this.) I know if I were going to go CM again I'd love to tweak some Lollipop with Pacman (love that one).
I just installed using cwm....camera not working, sound settings doesn't open so far....

Lollipop hope for F240 - Needed extracted kernel!

Hi all, first, credits to the dev and developer of the ROM, the one who post the thread in lgviet, and to all that needs to be credited.
So, I found this test ROM on lgviet. It is for the F240 variant, and it's LOLLIPOP!
It was ported from Commotio ROM experimental builds.
Bluetooth is not working and pops out so annoying FC.
What I need now is the kernel of this ROM extracted.
Anyone who can do it is a very genius fellow.
Thanks all!
Try this zip. It is the f240 kernel flashable. I don't own this device so I am not responsible for bad effects.
I extracted from Viet ROM and placed into flashable zip.

Note: You must use philz recovery with lokifying checked in settings.

After flashing kernel on BLISS LOLLIPOP ROM, it won't boot.
I am using F240k
FINDINGS:
I tried to put the boot.img from the ROM i linked in my first post on BLISS POP ROM. Well, it booted up! Sounds work, plus SD CARD being read.
So it seems that is the solution!
BUT! the problem is there is NO NETWORK SIGNAL!!! It is frustrating! I don't know what caused it. I am really baffled by this one.
Anyone have an idea why there is no network signal?
FYI: I tried the ROM I linked yesterday, it has a signal.

Well to be honest 'No'. I thought the same way that changing the kernel i.e boot.img will work for F240 as we are doing for CM 11 but I simply ended up with no signals.
Will test the BLISS ROM, as you said it is working for F240L.
I think it would be better to wait few weeks and let the things go a bit more stable. At this point even if you can make the ROM to work with F240 I don't think it would be usable in daily routine.
I know its hard to wait for LOLLIPOP

Yes I tried but it didn't work. No signals.
But I'm having Wifi issue with the working ROM. Everything was working fine but all of a sudden Wifi stopped working.
Going back to CM 11.
So here are my findings:
1.) I tried the ROM from LGVIET that is ported from BLISS POP 112914 build. It is the same ROM but, added the boot.img from CANTATA ROM
- Result is it booted, has signal, sound and sd card is working.
2.) I tried to get the BLISS POP 1129 ORIGINAL build, then placed the boot.img extracted from the CANTATA ROM, and put it there manually.
- Result is the same as above!
3.) So I tried the latest build of BLISS POP 1202, placed the boot.img from CANTATA. Flashed, no signal but sd card and sound is great. NO IMEI also. That is why there is no signal.
4.) Also tried with COMMOTIO Lollipop experimental builds, same no IMEI/signal.
CONCLUSION:
Latest test builds of lollipop have different setup than the old test builds(need citation here)
So the F240 L ROM should also be updated.

yes i'm testing, without gps everything works. rom has many languages including english (us)
downloading 1208, it's promised no glitch or flikering screen(ocational). so GPS is a rarely needed to many people. all of you shld try it. blisspop uses commotios kernel so actually cantana still couldn't achive deep sleep.
ok everyone lets jump to cm12 for lolipop( the rom is too much battery Hungry from my opinion)

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! I tested it almost half day tomorrow. Deep sleep is an issue.
So I tested something. The 1208 BLISS POP ROM for F240! I manged to make it work by taking the kernel from the CM12 RC1 for F240, then placing it on the BLISS POP ROM, modified something in build.prop. THEN VOILA! Working sound and signal!

It's going to be announced soon in CM's blog, but find7a and find7s are split now and get separate builds. You need to flash "find7" on find7a devices and "find7s" on find7s qhd devices. You should update the recovery too, but I think there are no recovery images available yet. I might provide some if nobody else does it.
I successfully flashed cm 12 1901 build . WiFi works normally. Fonts and icons too small

Can we flash this on color os 2.0.4 version without any issues or have to downgrade to 1.2.7

You will have to flash it over 1.2.x Color OS. I flashed 19 build over 1.2.7.
Installed without an issue.
For QHD use Find 7s version.

Anyone having problems when using unified partition layout? After I flashed the ROM the phone just tells me that there's an encryption error and I have to wipe data. I wiped data and still the same error. When I went back to previous ROM I'm using everything else is fine, except with the proximity sensor bug. Cheers

De-unify first, then flash. You need to have to revert back to 1.2.x.
Flash Open TWRP and then flash CM12 Nightlies. COs 1.2.x and CM12 do not support Unification.

Is the only way to switch between tabs the recent apps thingy? I mean I don't habe a problem but still kinda awkward not knowing where the tab went. BTW I got twrp 2.8.4 and there's always this horizontal line where the display shifts. It's like these lines on old videos that walk through the picture. Trying my best on English (I'm German )

Regarding the line in recovery, use Nameless TWRP recovery from HERE.
I have not tried the latest TWRP Open Recovery 2.8.4 for Find7, but with Nameless TWRP Recovery, I am able to use OTG in recovery. This allows me to take backups into 32gb usb drive and restore from there.
Custom Ringtones
Hello Just flashed to build 2015/01/21 and I noticed that I was unable to change my ringtone. This may seem like a trivial thing but I would just like to know if it's my device specific. Find 7a running CM12 stock kernels and all.
Edit: Turned off NuPlayer in developers options and set SELinux Kernel to Permissive.

Missing languages
In the 21/01 build, some languages are missing - texts simply do not appear and the language list is empty near the end.
EDIT:
23/01 build solves it.
EDIT2:
Gyro doesn't work, screen doesn't rotate.

Oppo n1 working with 5.1 cm12.1 temasek v10.2 21april15 release
i tried on my oppo n1,
i got it flash from the program called shua ji jing ling aka flash rom genie (most prolly a china based)
this is a potential for all n1 user to try the 5.1
the hiccups i faced so far
-the googleplay store is not inside, i still trying to get it to work
- the default camera apps can take one picture after that the shutter wont move the second one, im using the open camera for camera
- so far so good for the rest, will try to report back if i face any more problems or headaches
I didn't like this ROM. Simply because automatic rotation refused to work.
Alternatively, use Mokee, from www.mokeedev.com
Available for 4.4, 5.0, and 5.1. No major flaws with Mokee apart from the occasional camera problem. Comes with an OTA update app as well, which makes it a lot easier.
Just install Minimal Gapps over the top and everything is good.
thank u omicron
Will try when I have time n proper connection to dl
By the way, Xposed for 5.1 works pretty well with this, HOWEVER; It is NOT recommended to be installed.
With Xposed installed, you CANNOT update this ROM with the built in update functions. You have to download the full ROM and do a full wipe. Not an issue, if you don't mind doing it, but it does get irritating after doing it so many times.
two great and stable 5.1.1 rom for N1

I always do a full wipe before flashing a ROM. I tried most of your ports, but unfortunately the rotation didn't work. Good work with them, though, they are very high quality. I'll give them a go again.
Are you saying I need to flash a ColorOS ROM?

[ROM][2016-10-27][Quarks][CM 13.0 Unofficial][6.0.1]

Latest update: 2016-10-27 To view a changelog, you can visit http://www.cmxlog.com/13/quark/ for a rough idea up to the build date.
Hi all. I was able to compile this stock build of CM 13.0 thanks to the efforts/hard works of Skrilax_CZ, baybutcher27, the folks who created Resurrection Rom Remix, and those over at CyanogenMod. It takes some minor features from Resurrection Rom apparently (i.e. notification light, some tiny performance/battery tweaks, and the ability to install Motorola apps). It is otherwise stock CM 13 and I use this daily. I and the other authors/devs assume no responsibility if you damage your device somehow.
Please don't feel pressured to update any more often than you wish .
Notes:
In order to make my calling work for Verizon, I had to go under Settings->Cellular networks->Preferred network type, and select LTE/CDMA (not LTE/GSM/UMTS). I assume GSM users should be fine with the defaults.
My recommendations to install:
Install TWRP 3.0.2 if you haven't already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-touch-recovery-t3180308
Perform a backup of your current system/ROM (not really needed if just flashing a newer version).
Perform a factory reset/wipe (if coming from another ROM). If not coming from another ROM, still safest to do a dalvik/art cache reset.
Install the .zip
Install the appropriate google apps (http://opengapps.org/ , ARM, 6.0). I would think nano or micro is best.
(Optional) Install a custom kernel. The best at the time of this writing are at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development/kernel-bhb27-kernel-t3207526 (CM-NX-RR-M builds for Marshmallow)
The latest is here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=50122
Wipe dalvik/art cache if you install another kernel.
Reboot and enjoy
Kernel Adiutor is very good for performance/power saving adjustments:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor
If you are using bhb27 kernels, then you should use his version of Kernel Adiutor:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=48767
Here is the link to the latest ROM on the hosting website:

I'll be back to post updates fairly regularly (~every 1-2 weeks), but I also work full time in addition to being a Dad (those of you who are know how that is ) and won't really be able to response to PMs very well. The sources I used can be found under the post on XDA here at http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/development/rom-resurrection-remix-t3316232 (device, vendor, and kernel trees). Thanks and God bless.
I just flash this version and its absolutely amazing.
Good job devs!
Bugs I noticed:
-Settings for LED doesn't work.
-Android Auto says is not a supported device.
-Quick Charge 2.0 doesn't seems to work.
-Phone gets really hot when charging.
-...
I have been tempted to flash this all day, but I love how smooth my phone has been on resurrection remix and I enjoy the extra customizations it has. I'm eagerly awaiting the next resurrection remix build for all the latest git changes

That's a bummer with some of those bugs. Hopefully those will be taken care of soon and I'll be able to sync and rebuild. Did all of these happen to be with the stock kernel, or did you happen to flash another (like baybutchers)? I've seen a few specific to the tiles, but I dont have an Android Auto system to check against. Also, if they are working (or some) in resurrection then I could possibly try to patch this.

I don't know exactly, I installed it by downloading the zip and gapps to my PC and used the ADB sideload, before that I was using the last nightly of CM12.1. I did that and I didn't loose my info (either way I did a TWRP backup of everything, except cache previously), so I think it was the CM kernel. When I installed for the first time CM I flashed also the zip and gapps, if that way the stock kernel is changed with the CM kernel I think I'm using CM kernel.

Yeah that sounds like the stock cm kernel then if you didn't flash anything like that separately. I don't know if it would help, but you could always try the other kernel I posted about and see if Android Auto works (would have to restore your backup if you didn't want to keep it). It just depends how much you care and if it's worth staying with the ROM to you. There's obviously bound to be some bugs, but I enjoy using a lean version of the latest and greatest system. Thanks for the feedback .
Installed it 2h ago, everything is running fine so far.
This is smoother than the old cm and than rr too. I'm impressed!
I'm using Bhb Kernel.
My phone is turbo charging, led is working...
No bugs for me.
Nice job, mate! I'm glad we got a new cyanogenmod that we can have updates. Keep strong!

I've just been going under the built in privacy guard and setting advanced permissions to where apps I don't need to start at boot are denied, in addition to also denying a lot of them from being allowed to keep the device awake. I get very little battery drain in standby this way. If the cell signal is too weak though, it's really hard to prevent extra drain as it over compensates to get a good signal.

It's a little hard to say since there is a lot and I am just syncing to the main CyanogenMod 13 repository. However, this is a good link if you go by the date and something similar (such as the Nexus 6 which shares a lot of hardware).

This may be a dumb question but does this have VoLTE enabled and working(Verizon user)? Since it is CyanogenMod based I assume not but just waned to ask.
calsurferpunk, can you fix wifi on XT1254 with stock Brasil 1225's 6.0.1 ROM? CM12.1 and CM13 detect Moto Maxx and Droid Turbo radio very good!

Your assumption is correct. I don't believe this has ever worked with CyanogenMod. I'm on Verizon and haven't seen it.

I had this problem on other ROMs as well until I restored the original manufacturer ROM, set GPS to device only, verified it worked, then flashed the new ROM. You might have to do the same here. I believe it's been a long ongoing bug with CyanogenMod (and probably others).
pretty thx for the cm13,did it have ambient display?
I am downloading this at work right now. It is slow and will take me a couple to download.
While it is dl'g, I have a question about wiping. Do I still need to do a factory reset if I am coming from a marshmallow cm13 RR rom?Baybutchers?
Also, I have not been able to get my GPS to work properly. In your post #17, you referred to original manufacturer rom. Where can I get this rom to set the gps? I do have computerfreek's room saved as a backup if I could use it? I don't have easy access to a computer to do a fastboot.
Thx.
