[Q] LG G3 (d855), downgrade from 5.0 and/or root?! HELP! - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
Going to make this as short and simple as possible.
So I was runinng stock LG G3 4.4.2, but about 1 week ago I recieved the 5.0 update to my phone. I was all glad and dandy until I got sick to my stomach with McAfee (unfreeze-able and non-removable) and games starting to lagg without device even getting hot...
So I decided to Root and run CM or some other more lightweight ROM, but to my greatest fear, 5.0 seems unrootable atm!? I am at a loss here.. I am in no way happy with the Lollipop update, I can't even see if my device is running ART or not, and the overall experience feels even more sluggish than before - Need a 'get out of jail' card over here ~
Sidenote; I've only ever owned Samsung Devices (S2 and S4) as main phones, so I feel a bit lost when it comes to how LG run things (no Odin is my primary issue, as well as limited support since the device is not all that popular).
TL;DR:
1. Is there a working Root for LG G3 International d855 (32gb, 3gb RAM)devices running stock 5.0?
2. If not 1: Is there a way to downgrade from 5.0 to KitKat again?
3. If 2: What's the best way to Root the device with, and what Kitkat version should I run?

1. No.
2. See FAQ in my signature for links for guide to downgrade (guide is listed as unroot in faq).
3. PurpleDrake should do.

I am currently following your 10 (6) linked guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
But I am already stuck on 1.. http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/
What firmware file do I pick? Using the 32Gb LG-D855 (international), and I picked it up along with a carrier contract from "Telia" (Swedens biggest carrier).

Yes, that is the guide.
You need firmware for D855. Latest Lollipop version is 20F.

Wait what? Exactly which file do i download, to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.4 "KitKat" again?
Currently downloading this file; "D855 TOTs/ -> LGD855AT-V10e-EUR-32G.zip" Is that the wrong file?

the f400s recieved lollipop try searching for an kdz of it and flashing it(use google to find out how)
Yes BUT NOT ROOT
There are several V20C and V20F kdz files floating however don't hope to root the phone after. Seems that no ones gives a hoot about this model and once you load the V5.0 you won't be rooting this phone anytime soon.
if you're not looking to root then do a search for f400s/l/k V20c (or f) kdz file and use flashtool in download mode = they are available in vietnamese sites -
good luck

[Q] What version do I have to use?

I've recently bought the lg g3 unlocked from Amazon in the UK. I updated it to official lollipop not knowing it would unable me to root it. Now I'm looking to downgrade to kit kat in order to root it with purpledrake, install TWRP and the Cyanogenmod 12. My problem is I don't know exactly what firmware to install. The only information I have about the phone is that it is the D855 16GB and that its software version is "V20f-EUR-XX". If some one could point out the kit kat version to be installed and any problem with my plan I would be very grateful. Thank you

You can do that by rooting the stock ROM and installing twrp manager from the play store. Just saying.

Bump is a hack that bypasses LG security on boot checks. I came from the Verizon G2 that needed it. I forgot that T-Mobile don't lock their devices down like all other carriers.
I also recently bought a LG G Pad 8 inch that locked was locked down. Not even on any carrier but was locked down. Couldn't even get TWRP on it due to this.

A simple misunderstanding. Im sure the others with locked bootloaders would love this tool. and its good that you would do one for them....

T-Mobile locks down some of their devices. The g3 is lucky enough not needing it. That's why the d851 had ROMs first. Anyways, its easier to just use the one click root method and either use twrp manager or flashify to get twrp on your phone.

Guess it just makes T-Mobile that much better than the competition as being the "UnCarrier"! I was with Verizon for years and got tired of their outrages pricing and lockdowns. Plus, having unlimited data is what finally got me back to TMO.

Or you can go with a nexus device. Its unlocked no matter where you go.
Just added tool for KK 10R.
I have a D851 on the stock, rooted Lollipop ROM. I want to install TWRP but before I do anything, I just wanna make sure I'll still be able to boot back into the stock ROM after installing the recovery using this tool. (Someone reported on another forum that he installed TWRP using bump, but couldn't boot back into the stock ROM.)

If your on stock LP then choose the 20b version for twrp. Your booting will work fine. Thats what this is for.
Tmobile LG G3 Android 4.4.2 not working!
I have tried and seems someone has not posted a good instructions on how to root access this device I have been reading the forms I am more confused now then before I even thought about rooting this unit... maybe I might need to pass on this phone.. because I don't feel like spending all day getting this to operate correct the instructions would really help starting from the beginning as to which method is best and where to find the links these posts are like a one thing and then just goes into a different subject.

[Q] Please confirm my thought process Root/Upgrade

Hi,
I want to root and install CM13 on my H815 10c International G4.
For rooting i`ll use this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
After root, CM sites states: For CyanogenMod 13.0 it's required that your device is running stock Android 6.0 (H815_V20A or higher).
So i need to first flash a 6.0 ROM, but which? I found this: H81520B_00 zip 1.4GB.. but i`m not sure that this will install cleanly once rooted.
Basically how to i get to 6.0 so i can install CM13?
Thanks

You can upgrade to 6.0 but if you want to flash CM after that, you have to unlock your bootloader first, then root, then flash Twrp...
The only G4 variant that can be bootloader unlocked is H815 Eu version.

I got the update via LG Support Tool you should try it too.
I already have it. Its just better to flash yourself marshmallow ROM because of delay.
Flashed it to now moms H440N on release day she is happy with phone, and it isn't laggy as it was sometimes before on LP... So far I can say that battery is awesome (~2 days with no root, using WhatsApp on WiFi and 4G/3G, YouTube for ~20 min daily and of course calling+texting)
This update is great 11/10 would recommend it to everyone. The improvements are massive.
I got the OTA update for the Baltics, but will wait for root before updating. Several apps I really need are root dependant.

LG H420 Marshmallow (6.0)
Someone can tell me if the LG Spirit H420 will receive upgrade to Android 6.0 ?
yes new update much better than 5.0 , battery so much improved and much faster than LLP
@Thyago Vergueira well bro i can't answer you .... :/ try LG Support Tool... LG Spirit H420 has different hardware
I've got the notification for OTA update a few weeks ago but didn't apply:
1. OTA will no work because of a bad unroot that marked my device as having been rooted which prevents OTA update
2. Still no root method for Marshmallow
For 1. I could update with official LG Update Tool as I did previously, must be done as full recovery or fix. can't remember the exact option.
For 2. from what I've read in MM this has to be done with custom bootloader
So as we still have a locked bootloader I guess in a near future I won't be updating to MM

Can't you update using LGUP?
Or flash clear android 5.0 with LG flash tool, then update it with OTA?
Try! There must be some way.
